Two Ipod minis on one computer???

I just installed a second Ipod mini on my computer for my husband and I was able to download all his music onto it. But when I went to update my Ipod, iTunes doesn't recogize my Ipod now. What do I need to do to be able to have two iTune programs that work with two different Ipods?? I created the 2nd iTunes under a different user name. I thought I did everything right. HELP!!

Just resetting your iPod may cure the fact that iTunes doesn't recognize your iPod. Hold down the menu/select buttons until you see the Apple logo. Do this whilst it's connected.

The best way to have completely different iTunes libraries would be to set up separate accounts in Windows for each of you. That way you can each maintain completely separate music libraries.
If you just want to have different sets of music on your iPods, set them either for manual updating or to update only selected playlists, then keep individual playlists for each of your iPods.

Can I run two different iPod minis from one computer??

We bought a second iPod mini and now our computer will not recognize that either one is plugged in. Suggestions?

Help with two ipod users on one computer???

Ok heres a quick rundown of the problem. My girlfriend and i both have ipod minis and i am having difficulty getting I tunes to work for me. Her I tunes works fine for her I pod, but when i try to add music files to my ipod using her I tunes, it keeps telling me that my ipod is attached to another music library, then it asks me if i want to erase the music on the ipod and download her music. I thought that maybe i was doing something wrong so i decided to install my copy of itunes to remedy the problem. I tried to install my ipods i tune disc onto the computer, everything looks like it installs well but for some reason its seems as though you can't have two versions of itunes on one computer. Can someone help me? Is there an easy way to fix this?

OH good lord! Go into your start up menu and find Tour Windows XP and it will show you how. OR GO into your Control Panel, click on USER ACCOUNTS and go from there...its not rocket science, trust me

Do you want to share all the same media and the same iTunes account/Apple ID with that other family member?
Or do you want to keep your media separate, and/or use a different iTunes account/Apple ID?
If you want to use all the same media and share the same account/ID, just connect your iPod to the computer using the USB cable and perform a sync.
Otherwise, you might be best off setting up a new user account on your computer first, so that you will have two different iTunes libraries. This will allow you and your family member to both use the same computer but have completely different (and separate) data accessible via iTunes and on your iPods or other iOS devices.

i have a problem, me and my sister have two I-pods but we have only one computer.
we can't use the Itunes becuase it dosen't read the other i-pod.
how can we use the Itunes with both Ipods? and how can we make 2 playlists?

a preliminary question. do you have that PC set up with different user accounts? (one for you, and one for your sister?) that might give us some pointers as to what is happening with the second ipod.
could you describe the problems you are getting with the ipod that doesn't work? err on the side of too much detail, rather than too little.

Yes, it is certainly possible. I use 3 on my PC without any problems. You will need the latest versions of iTunes and iPod software updater.
Install iTunes followed by the iPod software updater, then run the updater, connect the new iPod and choose to restore. If successful make sure you choose a name for the new iPod different from the old. Then take a look at this: Using Multiple iPods with one computer

Two IPod Nanos On One Computer..HELP

My son has an IPod Nano and has all his songs on my computer, he received free songs when we first hooked it up to ITunes.
Problem, my daughter now has the same IPod and is using my computer to get her music as well. When we first hooked hers up, she did not receive free music like my son did even though hers is registered too. How does she get the free music and how do we get it so she has her own music list? They do not like the same music and it is trying to put my son's music on hers.

Ive already got an ipod mini which is installed onto my laptop. My mum received an ipod mini for her birthday. Can i run 2 ipods off one account on my laptop. Im unable to set up another account on windows due to my anti virus software. Pls help, Ive been told just to connect the new ipod via the usb port and it should appear in itunes but it doesnt. i tried installing the cd for the new ipod, and it said something about uninstalling the selected files. i stopped there because i didnt want to delete all my songs on itunes.

yes you can. (mauve and attractive beast are both being run out of the same library.)
if you want to download different music to each ipod, you can use either "manually manage songs and playlists" or "automatically update selected playlists only".

Using two iPod Nanos on one computer

I just bought my husband an iPod Nano identical to mine (2Gb) but when I connect it to the computer, the setup assistant does not appear. When I go into device manager, it shows iPod and a question mark with an exclamation point superimposed. Any idea what to do to get the computer to recognize this second iPod?

I am a very new iPod user. My sister uses the same computer (operating Windows XP) and has her library already set up. We all have separate user ids on the computer, but my mum plugged my iPod under the same user id as my sisters, now I cannot sync to my own library without erasing my sisters library. Can anyone help?

You won't be erasing your sister's library. You will be erasing the songs from your iPod that were added when your Mum connected it to your sisters library by mistake. To re-link it to your own library and reload your own songs, log into your Windows account and choose "Erase & Sync" when iTunes tells you that your iPod is linked to a different library.
