Two issues: Latency and pops

Hi, I've been using Garage Band for almost two years now and I haven't had problems quite like this before. (And of course, I am supposed to have this song done by tomorrow!)
Latency: Whenever I've had latency before, I'd be able to fix it through adjusting Ducking or changing the settings option to "minimal delay". I've done both of those things today, but I still get a lot of lag - the most I've ever experience; the input can be delayed by over a full second! It seems to get worse and worse as I play, too. This just happened today and never before. I quit all other apps, unplugged everything but my midi interface and speakers, rebooted, and it's still happening. Any suggestions?
Popping and White noise: Here's another problem that just happened today. When I play, I get a lot of popping sounds, as if my guitar cable is crapping out. I've gone through three guitar cables, two of which are only months old and one of which never pops when I'm playing through an amp. I'm getting varying levels of white noise too. I usually only get that when I have the gain set to 8 or above, depending on other setting, but I'm getting it all the time now! Any suggestions on these?

I have had terrible pops suddenly and it turned out, that some Airport update must be the source of that. When using GB these days I just disable airport and the pops and crackles are gone.

Two issues - registration and sync

every time i try to register my apple tv, i get a "we are having technical difficulties" message. been getting it for three days. huh?
just fired up iTunes for the first time today and i looks like everything was syncing to the apple tv again even though nothing had changed. then, when i clicked on the apple tv in the device list, it showed that the disk space was still used and then, poof, it disappeared from the device list.

technical difficulties could simply be a reflection of everyone trying to register their Christmas presents.  was hoping to sell a lot of phones. ipods, tv's etc maybe they did.
As your tv has disappeared from your device list you may have an issue with your network or it may simply mean you have turned off syncing by mistake, which you can do from either itunes or the tv. To check if syncing is on or off go to the source list on the tv and select 'syncing'.

Two issues, Question mark and Chinese

Issue #1 - When I go to a URL such as the Apple.com location, OT files such as the iPhone (drool) currently featured don't appear. Instead I get a semi transparent QT logo with a Question mark superimposed over it. Same goes for QT files that are emailed to me as attachements.
Issue #2 - When I click on the QT icon on my dock I get a small window that pops up titled "Welcome to Quick Time" and if clicked linking me to a QT promo which, consistent with issue #1 will not load. Quick Time opens but other than the name of the application in bold, all other words are in what I assume is Chinese.
These two issues seem to have cropped up simultaneously, though I can't say for sure. How do I reset the language that QT is displayed in? Particularly when I can't read any menu/toolbar items in QT?

Thanks for your assitance Jon, unfortunately I'm no closer to resolving this. The QT and VLC are both in the Applications folder, should this not be the case?Was not referring to applications here but the browser plug-ins in the "~root > Library > Internet Plug-Ins" folder. If there is a browser plug-in conflict, this is where you would start to look for it.
As for the language issue, I checked International and found Chinese to be second under English in the list. I moved Spanish up to second to see the result and QT is now in Spanish. I moved Spanish to first position and English to second and all of my Apps etc were in Spanish including QT! I put English back on top and all are just that except QT which is still in Spanish. So evidently QT has developed a distaste for English?This seems to confirm that your problem is connected to the language list -- or rather how QT has indexed and is accessing the list. It is obviously off by one index and if QT is the only application affected, would assume it most likely the application is corrupted. Unfortunately, as embedded as it is in the current system, the best solution might be to reinstall the OS. On the other hand, if you can wait for the next upgrade, I was wondering you could get temporary relief by simply placing "English US" at the top of the list and use "English" as the second entry. At least you could read the menus.
One other question....I was planning on upgrading to Quick Time Pro, will downloading this fix my problem?No, QT Pro merely unlocks editing/saving/exporting features.
Can I delete QT and then start over with a download of QT Pro?QT Pro is not a separate application. With previous versions of QT, I might recommend removal and re-installation of QT. But with the current "tight" integrations of QT/OS I personally would worry about creating more problems than I would solve.

Bug: when you have two or more reminder pop-ups on BB10, you can't edit 2 or more of them because the second and beyond are lost...

To better understand your issue, for example If you have two reminders and select 'View Event Details' on the 1st reminder, does the 2st reminder popup before the Details of the1st reminder displays?

(Clearly i'm not alone in this problem, although i think i figured out what's going wrong a little more than he did...read on!)
his solution, to put mainstage in jump mode, is very unsatisfactory to me, as it bounces all of a sudden to drastically different settings.
basically, my analysis is that my controller is NOT receiving MIDI date from mainstage. in other words, mainstage knows what my controller is doing, but my controller doens't know what mainstage is doing.
let's say i turn the knob all the way to the right ... 127...and the virtual fader goes to the right like it's supposed to.
now...next...let's say i change to a different patch, where that same VIRTUAL fader is not at the max clockwise position..maybe it's only at 1pm. now when i turn the physical knob to the RIGHT, the midi data is still at 127 on the controller! it didn't "reset" to sync up with the new level (say 80 or so) setting on the new patch. so i can't increase that new setting of 80 by continuing to turn the knob to the right. i have to turn it all the way to zero,...and then continue PAST zero until the controller thinks that IT is at 0...at that point the controller and mainstage are in agreement, and things work fine....so bascially, the keyboard thinks the level is at max...but mainstage thinks the level is at 1pm.
i am using Logic 9, and i have a macbook pro 2.9 Ghz I7 with 8 gigs of memory and OS X 10.8.4

The second issue is when I try to select "Manually Manage Music"
The iPhone "My iPhone" is synced with another iTunes libary on "MY-PC". Do you want to erase this iPhone and sync with this iTunes library? An iPhone can be synced with only one iTunes library at a time. Erasing and syncing replaces the contents of this iPhone with the contents of this iTunes library."
So... I don't want to do that, but I do what to be able to Manage my music. I'm not sure what it means by being synced to another iTunes unless it means to an older version of itunes?
Anyone have any ideas?

I cannot address the sync services error right now, but the error that you receive when you change from sync to manually manage music is what happens when you change. Once you change to manually manage music, it erases all of the music and will only put the music that you want on the phone, content that you manually drag over to it. 1) trying to set it up with the handsfree bluetooth builtin to my Prius. My previous iphone 4 had no problems. I go through the steps to pair it, my boothtooth is enables in the phone, the car gives me a 4 digit code and then searches but it looks like my phone doesn't pick it up. Eventually, the car gives up searching.
2) I had to enter a passcode when I was setting up my phone. I didn't realize what it was asking at the time and I now want to change my password. I have tried but it isn't letting me change it. How do I cnage the password for my phone? This is the password that is requested when my phone isn't used for a period of time (2 minutes).

1) Try turning on the Bluetooth on your iPhone around the time the car gives you the 4 digit code.
2) Check Settings > General > Passcode Lock to change the code.

In Library/mail I have two POP entries POP - and POP /
Both have the following mail range POP/ 2141 to 26189 and POP / 26303 to 42087.
I would like to merge the messages from one into the other. But there is an overlap of numbers and I don't want to overwrite valid messages.
I would also like to find out as to which POP is teh valid one and if I can merge the messages I would like to delete the POP - or the POP /
Which is the valid library/mail POP dash - or POP slash /
Any and all help would be gratefully received

Hi Ranjit.
The right account folder would be “POP-...”, but Mail might be using the “POP/...” one. Try this:
1. Quit Mail.
2. Move the “POP/...” account folder to the Desktop and rename it so that it doesn’t contain extraneous characters (the slash in particular), e.g. to “OldAccount”.
3. Open Mail. Check that everything is as it was before and that Mail has not created the “POP/...” account folder again in ~/Library/Mail/.
4. In Mail, do File > Import Mailboxes, choose Mail for Mac OS X as the data format, and follow the instructions to import the “OldAccount” folder that’s on the Desktop.

Two issues with JnlpDownloadServlet and JDK1.6.0_03

i recently tried to deploy a simple java application via webstart using the JnlpDownloadServlet of JDK1.6.0_03. thereby i encountered two issues for which i could neither find a solution nor a bug report. has anyone experienced the same?
issue 1:
when setting an explicit timestamp (e.g. TS: TS: 2007-01-01 00:00:00) in my jnlp file, jws always prompts me for an optional update (e.g. when accessing the jnlp the second time via browser) even though i haven't changed anything.
i checked the code and in my opinion the problem is that in line 139 of JnlpDownloadServlet.java a new JnlpResource is created upon every request (esp. for the request to my jnlp file which should be macro-expanded). the lastmodified-attribute of this resource is always the timestamp of the (jnlp-) file on the server (see JnlpResource.java) which is of course NOT the same as the one i explicitly set vie TS: ... in my jnlp file. however, in order to detect if something has changed, line 159 compares the explicitly set timestamp (which is sent with the ""If-Modified-Since"-header, see 131) with the actual file timestamp of the server ("jnlpres.getLastModified()") instead of using the explicit timestamp of the jnlp-file. the latter is retrieved too late (during construction of the response).
issue 2:
in case i ommit the "href"-attribute of the "jnlp" tag in my jnlp-file, my application gets installed without asking me beforehand (which is wrong when creating shortcuts and the like). this is not the case if i use the "href"-attribute to point to itself. however, jws will fire multiple requests then. see related post in this forum.
any ideas or experiences with these two issues?

From the description you have I would first make sure that you have adequate coverage everywhere you need it. Make sure that the phone can see an AP at -67dBm or better at all times. Using the site survey utility in the phone would help you verify this.

After being inspected by techs at the Genius Bar, my phone has been replaced twice; thus, I am currently on my third iPhone 5. Incredibly, I am, yet again, experiencing the exact same issue. Short of getting my fourth iPhone, is anyone aware of a solution?

if it's the exact same issue, either it's a problem with your service or with your software if you're restoring from a backup each time. it's pretty darn near impossible for 3 phones to have the same exact hardware issue, so that's unlikely. is this an at&t iphone? if so, are you continuing to use the same sim card? if so, get a new one and try that out. if that's not the issue, restore the phone as new and make a few phone calls. if the issue's gone away, there's something wrong with your backup
