Two issues: screen flickering on long shots in HD and why does Apple TV2 suddenly loses content from my iTunes library at random times

I'm genearlly happy with the idea of my Apple TV 2, but I've got two problems with it that keep popping up and I have no idea how to fix them:
1- Watching HD video causes the image to flicker on long shots. My TV is a 40" Sharp Aquos from 2010. SD content seems fine. Tried several HDMI cables and no dice.
2- At random times, the Apple TV 2 will lose all the information from my itunes libraries. It'll still connect but give me the message "There are no items" or something similar. My current workaround is to disconnect from home sharing, then reconnect and enter my username and password with the Apple remote (remote app on iPhone no longer works at this stage) which is a pain, because my PW is complicated.

There may be a couple of reasons for this. It may simply be poor encoding. Alternatively stuttering can become quite noticeable on panned shots when the the framerate of the video does not match the TV output frequency.
2- At random times, the Apple TV 2 will lose all the information from my itunes libraries. It'll still connect but give me the message "There are no items" or something similar. My current workaround is to disconnect from home sharing, then reconnect and enter my username and password with the Apple remote (remote app on iPhone no longer works at this stage) which is a pain, because my PW is complicated.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel.

You are correct, there is no flash player on the iPhone, find an alternate browser that may be able to help your quest.
Or use the corresponding app in the App Store. -
After updating my Apple TV, it will no longer load movies from my iTunes library. Music works, but no movies. I've turned this puppy every which way but loose, but no joy. Is there a way to roll back an update?

I've never seen this issue, and I handle many iPads, of all versions. WiFi issues are generally local to the WiFi router - they are not all of the same quality, range, immunity to interference, etc. You have distance, building construction, and the biggie - interference.
At home, I use Apple routers, and have no issues with any of my WiFi enabled devices, computers, mobile devices, etc - even the lowly PeeCees. I have locations where I have Juniper Networks, as well as Aruba, and a few Netgears - all of them work as they should.
The cheaper routers, Linksys, D-Link, Seimens home units, and many other no name devices have caused issues of various kinds, and even connectivity.
I have no idea what Starbucks uses, but I always have a good connection, and I go there nearly every morning and get some work done, as well as play.
You could try changing channels, 2.4 to 5 Gigs, changing locations of the router. I have had to do all of these at one time or another over the many years that I have been a Network Engineer.

Take it in for service. Your screen probably needs to be replaced.

The kit is firmly inserted in thhe iPad's dock ? You could also try a reset and see if it's recognised after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
I haven't had problems using the kit with SD cards from Canon cameras . What capacity is the card, and it's an SD or SDHC card - if it's an SDXC card that's formatted as ExFAT then it won't be recognised -
IF UPDATES TO APPS THAT CAME WITH OUR MAC ARE FREE, WHY DOES APPLE REQUIRE BILLING INFORMATION TO BE COMPLETED IN THE SCREEN JUST BEFORE ACCESS TO INSTALLING FREE UPDATES???

Some of the content in my Itunes library has the "!" next to them and is unable to play the songs as it says the source is no longer available, yet on an old Ipod the same tracks are available and play fine?
I would love to know how to consolidate all my music and be able to play it without one device saying they are unavailable yet another device says they are?

I want new tab to open to home page and why does firefox not have a simple check box in the options because I can't keep going through the long tedious procedure each time I install firefox. It is something that should be in the options tab , and I want to know why it isn't. I am totally frustrated with firefox and getting ready to switch.
You can use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.

Why does Apple kick their old subscribers under the bus? I have an iMac G5 1.9 and 2.1 computer using Leopard 10.5.8 system, and I cannot renew my MobileMe account, why? Is Apple incapable of keeping their old subscriber accounts active and still update their system? Maybe I should look into buying a PC in the future? I eagerly await your reply. Thanks
MobileMe is being terminated in two weeks. If you have files on your iDisk which are not also on your computer you need to be downloading them as soon as possible or you will lose them.

The system is back up and fully functional. How long has it been since you stopped receiving notifications? Can you share your form with us so we can have a look into what might be going wrong?

My family has a late 2010 27" Imac. A few months ago, we noticed that the left side of the screen was somewhat darker than the right. As time went on, it continued to get worse and worse. When you turn the computer off for an hour or so, it helps the display out somewhat, but it eventually goes back to being darker on the left. About two months ago, the display started to go completely black. When the screen is black, everything still runs. My itunes library will still play, everything is functioning even though the screen is out. It has started to become more frequent. It is extremely annoying, almost unbearable. Since the one year warranty went out in November, what are we supposed to do about this?
Contact Apple Service, iMac Service or Apple's Express Lane. It's a known issue with 27" iMacs and you might be eligible for replacement. I had mine replaced shortly after buying it. BTW, AppleCare's extended warranty is the cheapest insurance policy one can have for desktop machines. Too bad you missed the deadline.

Why does Apple say that I`m using 5 computers whilst I only have two?
Hello! I`ve got a problem with iTunes. I usually use iTunes on my MacBook Pro. Today I installed it on my PC and entered my Apple ID. After that I got a message from Apple saying that I am using 5! computer - and I sure am not as I only have two ( My XP laptop has given up a long time ago - it doesn`t exist anymore. Got no iPhone, no iPad either). Can anyone tell me what`s going wrong here?
Some of your computers may have been (or still may be) using multiple authorisations.
Perhaps try doing a "Deauthorise all" and then reauthorise the computers you still have access to? (That should get you back down to 2 authorisations.) See the following document for instructions:

Two accounts with the same iTunes library (at same time!)
Hi, on my iMac I setup my iTunes library (connected with ATV), guessing what happens if I move this library to the shared folder on my iMac and in the same time this is opened by the two accounts present on my iMac (me and my wife).
Should I make the connection with ATV also on my wife's account ? What happens to other account ?

only one iTunes can access a library at a time.
instead, you could try this:
i assume both you and your wife have their own iTMS account. if that is so, you might want to try to cross-authorize iTunes on each account to play/use content purchased by the other. this works at least for an iPod Touch so i would be surprised if it didn't work for the TV.
that's basically very easy. all you have to do is +log out+ of one account (click on the account name in the Store window and select sign out from the pop-up dialog) and into the other, and then they will both be authorized. (be sure to just *log out*, not de-authorize ).

Have you tried to Back-up or Burn a CD with this CRAP 10.4 version. I have been attempting to get an answer from Apple for over a month. So far 7 different individuals have gone from telling me to read the "Back-up to CD" page, after telling them There is no Back-up to CD in 10.4. Another told me I had not bothered to read the Instructions that had been sent. When I finally got to a person who actualy read my email explaining the problem with 10.4

Grab SyncToy 2.1, a free tool from MS. This can be used to copy your entire iTunes library (& other important data folders) onto another hard drive or network share. You can then use SyncToy periodically to synchronise or echo your library to the backup. A preview will show which files need to be updated giving you a chance to spot unexpected changes and during the run only the new or updated files will be copied saving lots of time.
If your media is all organised below the main iTunes folder then you should also be able to open the backup library on any system running the same version of iTunes, regardless of the drive letter or path it appears on.
