Two levels data links

Hi everyone,
I'm using reports 6i, In the data model I have a master group that have a data link with details group, In the layout model I made a master repeating frame and connected it to the master group, and Inside it I made another repeating frame and connected it to the details group...everything gone ok and the data were shown correctly.
The problem is that when I connect third group ( as a detail) to the details group though a datalink and then draw a repeating frame inside second frame, it doesn't show..I don't know if nested repeating frames are limited to two frames only? How can I pass this problem ?
Below attached my data model and Layout Model requirement, could you please have a look and tell me how to handle this issue ??
Please look at data model Click Here

Thanks in advance..

Thanks a lot....the query was returning empty rows..I did modifications and it works well but i have lil problem:
Summary field is displayed as a sequence, for example if the returned result is 3, it is returned as 1,2,and 3 so i got 3 rows :(
I think it is because the summary column is inside the third group and it works every time a row is fetched.
how can make this summary field count one time after all rows retrieved to get only the one value , the final value ???

• Data Link In Oracle Report

Hi,
What is the significance of group level data links in oracle reports?How is it different from data links that select column from each groups?

• IPv6 and data link layer

As we have learned, layer design is made to make us and Vendors happy about new inventions on a network field. If so, how come up this statement:
The following data links are supported for IPv6:
ATM permanent virtual circuit (PVC) and ATM LANE,
Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet,
FDDI,
Frame Relay PVC,
Cisco High-Level Data Link Control (HDLC),
PPP over Packet over SONET (PoS),
ISDN, serial interfaces
dynamic packet transport (DPT).
Is this truth that IPv6 (L3) is connected to lower layer (layer 2)?
Best Regards,
Tirke

> Is this truth that IPv6 (L3) is connected to lower layer (layer 2)?
Well, they have to be, or you couldn't send layer 3 IP packets over the layer 2 links. In IPv4 the connection between layer 3 (IP) and layer 2 (say, ethernet) is most often via the Address Resolution Protocol, layer 2 ethernet type 0x0806 (IPv4 being 0x0800 and IPv6 0x86dd).
In IPv6 the connection is instead via the ICMPv6 neighbor discovery protocol. Neighbor discovery was invented with goals like getting more uniformity into the layer 3->2 transition over different link types, and better duplicate and dead address detection.

• Wide report causes standard tabs in two-level-tabs to move

I know that sounds odd. So, if you have a large (wide) report, that spans the browser window, and you resize the window, the tabs will move to the right, eventually right out of the window. Very odd.
I have Apex 3.0.0.00.20. I have a simple report region with a query that has over 20 columns. The data isn't really meant to be read, there is a download to spreadsheet link that people will use. However, there is also a two-level tab system in place. Parent tabs at the top (on the right) look fine. The standard tabs, below are left aligned and look good on all pages except this one. If the window is wide, fitting the entire width of the report, then the tabs align on the left. That is very wide, filling up more than my widescreen monitor on my two-monitor setup. For users on a single smaller monitor, they cannot size it that large, and if the window is narrow enough, the tabs are actually off the screen. You have to scroll right to see them. It's the strangest thing. But, it's a pain, since they need to use these.
Anyone see this? Any ideas how to prevent those tabs from moving and staying anchored on the left?
Thanks

Sounds like the result of a layout based on nested tables, which are expanding to accommodate the wide report content.
Solution would be to move the standard tabs region or the report region to another region position, or change the page template so the tabs current region position is not contained within a table that also contains the table containing the report region position.
This should all become clear if you view the page in Firefox and outline the tables using the Web Developer Toolbar...

• Login Module validation against two different data sources

Hi All,
We have the following setup
NW Portal 7.31
Single stack
We are in the process of implementing Employee Self Service 1.50 WDA.
And as part of the requirement , we have implemented LDAP as the UME DataSource.
So, employees log into the portal using the LAN ID and Windows password and are authenticated using the Logon ticket.
Now the client has come up with a requirement to have all German employees login with their ECC user id and password.
NOTE: ECC User ID and LAN IDs are the same, but the passwords are different.
a) Is it possible to use two UME data sources for logon validation.
b) Is customization of the Login module needed for this scenario?? If Yes, what components need to customized?
c) What is the best approach to handle this requirement?
Thanks.
Regards,
Raj

check this link if it provide any helpful info:
User Mappings in the Authentication Framework of SAP NetWeaver Application Server (AS) Java - Security and Identity Mana…
Also you can search around creating a custom login module for authenticating useres against ECC ,if its possible you need to plugin the custom login module in your authentication stack along with the applicable flag and order so that if user authentication failed at ldap level then the control should go to authenticate it against the ECCcustom login module and logon ticket should be generated in both the cases.

• Can't see the ESS Additional Personal Data link within Personal Information

Hi All,
For some reasons, I can not see the Additional Personal Data link within the ESS Personal Information iView. I have checked the Homepage framework and the existence of the iView in the PCD and everything appears to be fine.
Do I need to assign any additional infotype to my id or give myself specific authorisations to see this link?
I would really appreciate if you could provide an answer to my query.
Thanks,
Vibhu

Hi,
I think mostly you have maintained the data in PA30 Transaction and had data in Info type 0105.
After this try to check with your EA-HR patch and SAP HR patch in the services. If both are not maintained at the same patch levels such type of problems will occur.

• Issue using data link in XML Publisher

Dear All,
I am new to XML Publisher, for the first time trying data link concept in XML Publisher tool. The issue is very simple, I have two queries Q1(say it fetches sales_order_number, application_name ) and Q2 (say it fetches sales_order_number , error_number, error_description). And sales_order_number is passed as input using data link to Query Q2 from query Q1 and Q2 will retrive more than one row for a given sales_order_number.
Say for a given dept_name 1001 the output will be something similiar like
Q1:
SO# | Appl.Name
1001 | 'Invoice '
Q2:
SO# | Error.# | Error Desc
1001 | 1512 | No Data Found
1001 | 1513 | Invalid Entry
1001 | 2674 | Error while inserting the record
and the query which I have used in XML template goes like this
<dataQuery>
<sqlStatement name="Q1">
select sales_order_number, application_name
from T1
where sales_order_number = :in_sales_order_num
</sqlStatement>
<sqlStatement name="LINES">

select sales_order_number , error_number, error_description
from T2
</sqlStatement>

</dataQuery>
<daraStructure/>
And the grouping is as follows
<group name="G_Q1" source="Q1">
<element name="sales_order_number" value="sales_order_number"/>
<element name="application_name" value="application_name"/>
<group name="G_Q2" source="Q2">
<element name="sales_order_number" value="sales_order_number"/>
<element name="error_number" value="error_number"/>
<element name="error_description" value="error_description"/>
</group>
</group>
And in the RTF template I have properly used <?for-each:G_Q1?> <?for-each:G_Q2?>- --
<?end for-each?><?end for-each?>
Ideally the header (Q1) should have one row and the lines (Q2) should have 3 rows. But the issue here is even Q1 produces 3 rows.
If in case Q2 has 4 records, then Q1 also plots 4 records in the report output. Hope I am explaining the issue correctly. Any help to resolve the issue would be a great. Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Antony.

try like this
<?if: (TYPE='A') or (TYPE= 'B')?>
<?end if?>
or
<?if:contains('A~B', TYPE )?>
<?end if?>

• Convert data link between one query's group and another querys group to SQL

Hi
I have a report where there are 2 query Groups. These 2 query groups r linked by data link. How do i combine these queries to One query so i can use it as a SQL query.
Thanks

Hi,
Assume that we have two queries Q1 and Q2 and the common column between the two queries is "comn".
Now we can convert the datalink into SQL as follows:-
SELECT *
FROM
(Query for Q1)a,
(Query for Q2)b
WHERE a.comn=b.comn(+)
Note: "a" and "b" are alias names for Q1 and Q2.

• "Exception Processing Message" error when clicking the Accessing Server Data link on the start page

When I first started the application, I click the Accessing Server Data link on the start page. I immediately got the error "Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf7c 4 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c in a dialog box titled "Windows - No Disk". I had to used Task Manager to remove the box after closing Flash Builder 4. I then tried the video tutorial on "PHP Services in Flash Builder 4". I keep receiving an error during service introspection trying to connect to the PHP class. It was the same error as the other individual "Cannot Connect to PHP Service". So I tried another tutorial and generated a sample PHP class. I moved a datagrid on to the stage, droped in the getAllItems function, and configured the return type. However, when I ran the app, I received the same error "Exception Processing Message" again. I have attached the screenshot of the error in addition to my phpinfo and log files.

"The exception process message" is definitely a issue. Is it happening consistently, if so can you file a bug at bugs.adobe.com/flex and give out your machine config details, and the error log.
With regards to generating a new php file and the introspection error that you are getting, looking at the logs it probably is two fold.
First off the name of the file and the class name should be the same, are you having employeeServices as the name of the class in employeeServices.php file.
Second, It seems prior to generating this new file, you had a syntax error at line 5.
It would be easier to figure out what the error is, if you can also attach the php file, by removing any sensitive information in that.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Hi MaikI,
Thank for the inputs.
Actually i want restrict the data based on the ANALYSIS AUTHORIZATION - 0TCAIPROV.
I want to give s_rs_comp-provider value *, and i want to control the query (data) access through analysis authorization. i want to create zanalysisauth which contains 0TCAIPROV = $variable.
variable is populated with one/two provider values at runtime .
based on the runtime variable population user should get access.
But with this implementation user is able to open all queries.where i am going wrong? how can i do this?

But the problem is that whenever I create a manual data link between two queries my report builder shutoff with this message “rwbuilder.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created"
Thanks in Advance...

I am using 9.0.4.0.33 and never faced this kind of problem. Did you install any patch?
Are you modifying existing report or creating a new one?

• Why do I get the symbol data link in the query_name of the data model

If I use an inline subquery within the SELECT of a data model query, the symbol data link appears in the query_name of the data model.
This causes the data link between two queries not to be used even if there is an existing link between the two. The trace file doesn't
have that join condition and so the child query in which the inline subquery was added fetches many redundant data.
Any idea what that symbol represents and how to get rid of it. It also appears during other times, not only when we use inline subquery
within a SELECT. Not sure if it can cause any harm to the report.
The problem is seen in Report Builder 6.0.8.19.0. Not sure if the problem is with other releases also.
Any suggestions are welcome.

I am living with the symbol in the query box as well, because my report only has a single query. My query also has several inline subqueries. I had never seen this before last week, spent a day re-reading the manuals and couldn't figure it out.
My post is not a solution, but a "me too" echo that could use an answer.

• Load balancing over two separate outside routers and two separate WAN Links

Hi everybody,
I have one 2851 setup with two separate ISP links and have it configured for failover with BGP. It works great but doesn't load balance.
Well now I have to new routers (3925's) to replace the single 2851 and I want to configure them to load balance over separate WAN links.
Can someone help figure out the best approach to make this happen? I would really appreciate it.
Thank you,

The "best approach", IMO, would be to use PfR (if your routers support it).

• Why should we load header data first and then we load item level data?

Hi BW guru`s,
I have small confusion about the data loading.
Why should we load header data first and then we load item level data?
Is there any particular reason?
Scenario: 1st I have uploaded 2LIS_11_VAHDR sales document header data from R/3 to BW by using LO-Cockpit extraction. Then I loaded 2LIS_11_VAITM.This is the norma procedure which we use to follow.
I have a question. If I load 2LIS_11_VAITM data 1st from R/3 to BW and then I will load 2LIS_11_VAHDR by using LO-Cockpit extraction. what will happen?
Regards,

Edited by: VENKAT BOORUGADDA on Aug 12, 2008 11:51 AM

There is no difference in doing it the other way.
The load sequence will come into play only during activation where if you map the same fields from the two datasources, you might want to have the previous value overwritten by data from the next datasource.
That is when you should care about loading one datasource before the other.
To your question it is not arule that header data should come first.
