Two logon par files in a single EP instance?

Gurus,
We are working on EP 6.0 SP15. This is an external facing portal for retailers with backend BW 3.5.
There is another wholesaler web application running on Standalone ITS with BW 3.1 and SAP R3 4.6 as backend.
Requirement is to merge the wholesaler application with existing retailer application on EP 6.0 SP15.
We can have 2 login pages ( one for retailer and one for wholesaler ) on EP 6.0 SP15 and the authentication concept should differentiante the users as retailer or wholesaler and users should be directed to their roles/pages.
What would be the best approach to take considering the fact that there should not be any impact to the existing retailer application?
Thanks

Can any one help ,How exactly the controll flow is happing here , when we type user name & password on logon screen.
And what is the use of there two par files. What I want to do ,If i need to design an logon page with out these two par files...
Any ways are there to achive this requirement... Pls help me out....
    Cheers

    Rabin,
There are numerous threads already on this topic -
You need to customize only one file in the customer namespace : com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par which internally uses umelogonbase.jar and  com.sap.portal.runtime.logon_api.jar.
Go through the below links for SAP Logon customization - This would make it easy !

  • Error while importing logon par file

    Hi
I have to do logon page customisation for that i have taken com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file from basis team and i saved it to my desktop .Now i have renamed it to com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par and trying to import to my NWDS.
So i opend EP perspective file->import->browsed the par file in place of Archive file name when i click on finish it is showing the error "invalid END header(bad central directory offset).
"The plugin com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver"caused an exception during the unpack operation.see log for more details"
Can anybody please let me know the reason for this error .
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
After renaming com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak to com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par. Try opening the file with winrar/winzip to see if you have a right par file structure. On some portal versions, when you open com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file, you have again a com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file inside it.
So if you find com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file inside com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par. Then just extract it again and try importing it into NWDS.
    Please refer to [link|NWDS Log - PAR import error;
    Hope this helps!!
    Thanks & Regards

    Nivedita

    Hi Nivedita,
You could try to delete the entry from the NWDS preferences and set the data there again. Set all the needed information like the portal host name, port, user name. And try not to select the option to save the passwords and check if NWDS does ask for a password then. (Also restart NWDS, I learnt that restart sometimes works wonders :P )
If it yet doesnt work, build the par file and then logon to the portal as administrator and go to tab System Administration->Support->Portal Runtime->Administration Console. Browse to your par file and click on upload.
    Good Luck!

  • Problem in JNDI Lookup of Deployable Proxy from the logon par file

    Hi,
I have customized the Logon par file and have a functionality to call a webservice when the Password Reset happens.
<b>from the ResetPassword.jsp , SAPMLogonLogic.java is getting called ,and  there is a method called performResetPassword().</b>
I am calling a Deployable Proxy in that method by using the below code,
    <b>Gateway objGateway=(SMSGateway)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/MailProxy");
    MailGatewayViDocument objSMSGatewayViDocument=(MailGatewayViDocument )objGateway.getLogicalPort("wsPort_Document",MailGatewayViDocument.class);
    objMailGatewayViDocument.sendMail(...);</b>
    I am getting the Exception,
<b>com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NameNotFoundException: Path to object does not exist at java:comp, the whole lookup name is java:comp/env/MailProxy.</b>
I have deployed the Deployable Proxy in the J2EE Engine and add this API Jar as the External Library (Project >Properties>Java Build Path ---> Add External jars...Added the .jar file generated in the Proxy Project).
<b>Please let me know the possible solutions where i can call a deployable proxy inside the logon par file</b>.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Sekar

    Hi,
I have fixed this error by changing the lookup as follows.
    InitialContext ctx=new InitialContext();
    Gateway objGateway=(Gateway)ctx.lookup("wsclients/proxies/sap.com/GatewayProxy/com.ms.sap..GatewayProxy");
Just open Visual Administrator and look for the path under wsclients for proper naming.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Error while importing logon par file into NWDS.

    Dear Friends ,
I m trying to customise the logon screen for my project. For this I have downloaded the "com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak" from portal server instance with the help of basis team. I have locally saved this file on my desktop[. I have renamed the file as .par and removed the .bak extension. Now I have tried to import the file onto NWDS in EP perspective by following File>Import>Par file. But its giving me this error:
    error in opening zip file
Reason: Sorry, an error occured creating the new project.
The plugin "com.sap.portal.plugins.config-archiver caused an exception during the
"Unpack" Operation See log for more details.
In some of the solutions provided in SDN saying that after renaming the file to par open with zip if i done it is again showing the error as "Start of the central directory not found .Zip file corrupt.Possible cause :file transfer error."
    Kindly suggest me the solution.
    Thanks and regards.

    Hi,
I think you have taken this file from a wrong path and hence this issue.
Pls download the par file from the below path and try importing it into EP perspective..
    System admin> Support>Portal Runtime > Browse Deployment>
Browse through the following to find the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak file:
    WEB-INF u2013> deployment u2013> pcd
    Root>WEB-INF>Portal>Portalapps> temp--> download the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par.bak

  • Problems redeploying portal logon par file

    Hi,
We customized the portal logon page within a custom par file and modified the authschemes.xml to make it work.
Once it worked on our DEV portal we moved the par file to the QA environment.
At this point the par file is having problems and doesn't execute. When we change the Authschemes.xml the portal even crashes because it tries to execute the custom par file and it fills up the log files.
The only difference in the deployement I could get from the log files it that it doesn't create a "work" directory during the deployement in QA while it does in DEV.
Any reasons why the par file would work in DEV and not in QA?
the portal releases and patch levels are exactly the same.
    Thanks,
    Johnny

    Hi,
    1. create ur custom parfile
    2. change all occurences of the the old par file name with the new custom parfile name in authschemes.xml.
    3. <b>delete or rename com.sap.portal.navigation.masthead.par.bak</b>
    3. move the new custom parfile to the PCD location
    4. <b>delete the .bak file of new parfile or old parfiles if any</b>
    5. restart the portal.
check whether there are any discrepancies in authschemes.xml while changing the name of old parfile.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks,
    Praveen

  • Two BI Systems connected to a single Portal instance?

    Hello,
Is it possible to connect more than one BI system (7.0) to a single Portal instance? What would be required to do if that's the case? Thanks in advance for any information!
    Cheers,

    Hi,
It is possible to add only one BI system to a single portal instance. This is because only one system object can be defined under portal as a BI master system.

  • Can't See com.sap.portal.runtime.logon in list of PAR Files in Iview Wizard

    Hello All,
I am trying to create an iview from PAR file com.sap.portal.runtime.logon which is the logon par file that has the logon page. But when I right click a folder in the PCD and click on New From PAR Iview I try to find on the list of available par files and I don't find the one named com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
Can anyone tell me if this has to do with the portalapp.xml file from com.sap.porta.runtime.logon.par file.? or with the Security Zones defined in portalapp.xml? Or does someone know why this PAR file doesn't appear on the list and how can I make it appear on this list of par files?
Any helpful ideas to solve this issue will give rewarding points.
    Thanks
    Luis

    Hello,
What I want to do is to put the logon page in the light framework page so that the users can login from the anonymous portal. After I customize the logon page I want to create aniview in the detailed navigation.
If you want to see the jsp files that the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file you have to go to the file system and copy the .par.bak file , rename it to .zip and all the files are there.
But my question is if this is a par file that is deployed in the portal , why I cant create an iview from this par file? From other forums I have read they say that creating an iview from this par file it will put the logon page where you want. But when I try to create an iview from PAR File the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon doesn't appear in the list of available par files.
Please help me on this and will give rewarding points.
    Thanks
    Luis

  • The PCD folder with all par files in the portal is empty

    Hi all gurus.
I have a customer that failed with a transport of iviews between two portals, the par file was not included even if attribute "include dependent objects" was checked.
I have met this problem before and the only(?) solution is to download the par file separately and import it into the receiving portal and then create a new iview from it.
Here is my problem: when I at this certain customers portal go to "System Administration > Support > Support Desk > Portal Runtime > Test and Configuration Tools > Browse Deployment" and then browse to "Root > WEB-INF > deployment > pcd" that last folder is empty! Blank!!!
On all portals I've seen that folder alwasys shows all standard par files along with deployed stuff but here the folder just shows a white page with the text "The folder is empty".
I don't think it's a matter of authority since I have added "super-admin role" and all possible content admin roles to my user without any change, the folder is still empty.
Does anyone have an idear about what is going on here?
    Best regards
    Benny Lange

    Hi Raghu.
Your are missing my point: it's not about what content to export, it's about the folder being totally empty. I can't see the par files belonging to our deployed code either.
Of course I could upload the par file from Eclipse workbench from where I first uploaded the par file to the development enivironment, but I find it alarming that the folder is empty when it's full of par files in every single portal I have seen so far.
    Best regards
    Benny

We need some help because we get 'Portal Runtime error: iView: N/A Component Name:N/A' error when trying to access portal logon screen.
    This is what we've done:
We've modified com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file and we've uploaded it but it doesn't work. Because of the error, we've overwritten this file with the original one but now it's imposible to access portal.
The situation it seems to be like before the modification of the .par file but we get the same error and can't access portal.
Please, do you know what could be the problem?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Belen,
Here are the steps you would need to take
    1. import the original par file into the NWDS and name the project as
        com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
    2. Make sure the project name is com.sap.portal.runtime.logon
    3. use winzip/winrar to extract the com.sap.portal.runtime.logon.par file in
        a local directory
4.Under the lib you would find two jar files copy them and paste them in your project
       under dist>PORTAL-INF>lib directory
    5.move the files cert....till umResetPass....jsp into the  PORTAL-INF directory
    6. export the par to the server in question
    7. restart your server
    This should solve your problem..
    Thanks,
    Gokul
