Two Mail Error Msgs: Message Can't Be Saved/Drafts & Invalid Text Encoding
My Mail was working fine until just recently. Now when I am replying or composing emails, out of the blue, in the middle of typing my message, I will get this error message first: "This message can't be saved to the Drafts mailbox."
After closing that error box which had nothing to do with my typing, I will then get this second error message: "Invalid Text Encoding....converted to the "Japanese (Shift JIS)" text encoding...."
I then close that message and try to finish typing my message. I've checked to see that my text encoding is set where it belongs, and it is never set to Japanese. Does anybody know what is going on here? Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you, Diane
The following test might be helpful in deciding what to try next: Create a New User Account, and as that New User try to set up one account -- since you have a POP set to leave messages on the server after download. If not familiar with setting up a New User Account, see:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.5/en/8235.html
This will be a useful test to now check this behavior in another User Account, and of course is not meant to suggest a permanent switch to the New User Account, but rather a test of the Mail application outside of your normal User Account and its existing setup data.

Thank you for your help info, I soloved the problem.
The problem is the ejb jar was deleted(I don't why)
then System Admin to deploy EJB jar from Admin console.
After that everything is fine.

Run weblogic.Admin -url ... LIST to see whether the JNDI name is there

you can view the jndi tree of the server from the console (right click

server name) and check whether the ejb home is bound to the correct jndi
name.

Hi Albert,
I would double check to make sure the EJB was indeed deployed (check
server log). What message did you see that leads you to believe itwas
successfully deployed? Also, verify the JNDI name you are lookingup in
your client matches the JNDI name for the EJB. If this doesn't solve
the problem, please post the error message and stack trace you are
seeing on the client.

"ERROR the message could not be saved" message appears
Can anyone explain why a "ERROR the message could not be saved" message appears when I'm writing mail? It pops up for no apparent reason?
This error message appears if you have set the text encoding (Message > Text Encoding) to one that doesn't include a "special character" that is in the message.
Example: select "Western (ISO Latin 1)" for your new message. From the Character Pallet (Edit > "Special Characters...") add (by dragging, the insert button, or whatever) the Euro symbol € to the body of your message. Either wait for Mail to attempt to auto-save your message to drafts or try to do so manually.
Because the Euro symbol has no code point in the Western (ISO Latin 1) encoding, the message can't be saved & you get the not-so-informative error message. Change the encoding to Automatic, "Western (Windows Latin 1)," or any other encoding that includes the Euro symbol & the error won't appear. -
Error: The message could not be saved
I have pop up on the screen, or when i shut down, a message that says: Error: The message could not be saved. What is going on and what should i do?

Try this if you are using an imap server:

There are lots of possible explanations if you're using an IMAP server, but I get the error when I'm using POP. Perhaps the new mail.app in Leopard will have sorted it out.

Google Mail Notifier Has message: "Can't sign in. See Preferences. Fetch
My Google Mail Notifier not working.
Has message:
"Can't sign in. See Preferences. Fetch -2"
I have no idea what this means. When I go to Preferences, there is nothing about "Fetch -2".
If anyone can help me, I would appreciate it. I am a beginner with computers, so patience may be needed
I don't know if this is helpful, but I have:
Mac OS X
Version 10.7.5
Thank you!Sorry, but you'll just have to contact Google... I doubt that many of us around here use Google Mail Notifier and note that it's a beta project, so it may not be working 100% of the time...

Error This message can't be opened
I am running 10.2.0.429 currently. However, since updating from 10.0, I have been unable to open any Notifications from the Hub. When I select a notification, the view switches to a new window that says:
Error
Date label area
This message can't be opened
Any help resolving this error?
NOTES
I have updated the OS gradually (2 or 3 times now?) from the originally installed OS 10.0. Getting to the current OS was not a one-step jump.
I used to be able to update my apps directly from the Notification section of the Hub. Now I get the notification and must go to BlackBerry World to update it, which is much less convenient (and annoying).
This is not a new error, I had hoped that the most recent update would fix the issue.

All I see is the blue bar across the top of the window that says "Error" and "Date label area", and then the message area says "This message can't be opened"

Error -8 message (can't connect with audio or video, text OK)
I've tried to exhaust all the resources online, but so far have had little success.
I'm getting an Error -8 message whenever I try to establish a video (or audio) chat with any of the three Apple test accounts. I've opened the ports recommended by:
http://portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/Netopia/3347NWG/iChat.htm
I'm actually trying to get my father-in-law's account up and running so the only details I have about the ISP is that it's Bluewin based in Switzerland so I'm not sure about VoIP details. I could probably find out if necessary. Also, I've already switched to port 443 to log on.
Here's sort of a funny little detail. I've also brought my 12-inch PowerBook G4 with me which I know works back in the states. I get almost the same error as the iMac, but with more details. The only difference is that the iMac doesn't have any details in the following categories:
Video Conference Report:
Video Conference Support Report:
Video Conference User Report:
I think I've covered all the bases. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. The details of the error log are listed below (BTW, changed account info to "********" for security).
Thanks, in advance,
Scott

Video Conference User Report:Hi Ralph,
Well, the Leopard update is installed (10.5.1) and still no luck with iChat 4.0. Still using UPnP through the Netopia 3347NWG, not port forwarding. I have to admit I'm still a little clumsy finding my way through the new OS, but I've done the adjustments to the Mac firewall and I'm sure I have a little more "homework" to do. Unfornately, I'm leaving for home tomorrow, so I thought I'd a least give you an update.
The new error message is as follows. Any additional troubleshooting will have to be done over the phone with my father-in-law at this point.
Happy New Year, BTW.
Patiently awaiting your thoughts.
Scott

Since updating to iOS 5.x I have been unable to Send, Save or Delete "saved Drafts". When I select a Draft the dialog window opens and I can edit the Draft, but both the Cancel and Send buttons are disabled. I can not close the dialog window. If I quit and re-run Mail the dialog window is still open and the Cancel and Send buttons are still disabled. If I run a second app, double-click the iPad Home button, press and hold the Mail icon until the "-" symbol appears, and use that to quit Mail, the dialog still appears when I run Mail, but both the Cancel and Save buttons are now functional. If I power the iPad off completely, restart it and run Mail, the dialog window does not appear and Mail works normally (save for the Drafts issue). All thoughts and advice welcome!
Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. When the screen goes blank then power ON again in the normal way.] It is 'appsolutely' safe!

Mail error msg - can't open Mail program.
When I click on the Mail icon I get an error message that reads (in part) "...Mail cannot update your mailboxes because your home directory is full."
I've run Disk Utility permissions repair, Disk Warrior, and Tech Tools 4. I've restarted the computer, zapping the pram as I restrted. I've used the reset botton on the motherboard. I've replaced the Mail prefs, and I've junked some old emails from Users/Library/Mail/Mailboxes to reduce the load. Sometime recently (over the past few days), I've run the OSX 10.4.4 update.
Do ya think if I write a nice lette to Steve he'll send me a new Intel/Mac, or should I simply empty an AK47 magazine at my od Mac and use my Dell from now on - a fate way worse than death!
Help (please). Save me, 'cause I'm going down for the 3rd time...
Da Kid

Mail error cocoa 512 can't delete messages
That says it all
Hi Michael,
NSFileWriteUnknownError = 512
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup
Note, in 10.5 & up /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/ may or may not exist. -
Ibelieve remote user deleted cache and now I have no bookmarks. I have tried to reset firefox and was unable to do so. I tried to restore bookmarks through the places sqlite file and windows cannot open the file. I went to old firefox file on desktop and tried to open a previous version of bookmarks and windows could not open file. I still have bookmark toolbar and a lot of my categories bookmarks but they are all empty. My plugins are still there Can you tell me where to direct windows to open sqlite of json files?
To experiment more safely, could you create a new Firefox profile? The new profile will have your system-installed plugins (e.g., Flash) and extensions (e.g., security suite toolbars), but no themes, other extensions, or other customizations. It also should have completely fresh settings databases and a fresh cache folder. If we get your bookmarks into the new profile successfully, you can create a backup and restore it in your regular profile.
Exit Firefox and start up in the Profile Manager using Start > search box (or Run):
firefox.exe -P
Any time you want to switch profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog.
Please do not delete anything in this dialog.
Click the Create Profile button, choose a name like TESTING, and skip the option to choose a folder. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
If you have backups in the JSON format (e.g., bookmarks-2014...json) try to restore one to this TESTING profile. This article has the steps (you will need to use Choose File... to get to the backup):
[[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
Does that work and give you complete results?
If not, the next thing I would try is to drop in the places.sqlite file you have and see whether Firefox can read it properly.
First, open up a Windows Explorer window to this new profile folder. You can do that using either
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
* Help menu > Troubleshooting Information
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button
Got the list of files? Okay, leaving that window open, switch back over to Firefox and Exit the browser, using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "power" button
* File menu > Exit
Pause while Firefox finishes its cleanup -- you will see the timestamps update in the profile folder, then rename '''places.sqlite''' to something like places.old and drop in the places.sqlite file you want to test.
Start Firefox back up again. Bookmarks?

Hello All, Since I recently updated my MS AD domain lever from 2008 to 2008 R2, my ACS AD authentication no longer works. It appears the Cisco client does not support a 2008 R2 Domain Level. Has anyone ever reverted backwards ? Cheers Colin

I sent a very long message on iMessage and now my message app won't open.
It was really really long, I just kept pressing an emoji and copying and pasting. Whenever I open messages, it doesn't load. It's white and then closes by itself. I've tried to kill the app and restart my phone, it's been over an hour and I still can
