Two .me  accounts, 2 iphones - one mac mini?

So here is my problem...the wife and I have 2 iphones, both have two .me accounts which we use to buy our own music, vids, etc. This all works through itunes as I have it authorized to play all.
However when I conect hers to the mac mini, and disconect when she buys items from itunes on her iphone the iphone has my account on it - is there any way we can avoid this?
Is the only answer having to accounts on the mac mini to log in to?
Can anyone help?

The iTunes account that is available on an iPhone is transferred to the iPhone with the iTunes account that is logged in with iTunes when syncing.
This is supposed to be different with firmware update 3.0 to be released this summer.

  • I would like the share an iTunes library between two different accounts on one Mac. How do I do this?

iTunes no longer works properly (aka at all) while using one of the user accounts set up on my iMac. It does, however, work when logging in under another user account on the same iMac. (if any of you can help me solve this issue that would be perfect). If there is no solution can anyone help with my request to share an iTunes library between two different accounts on one Mac. How do I do this?

that works for anything he purchases after he creates the new account.  What about his current music that currently resides in my itunes library?  How can I get his current music out of my library into his new account/library??  Thanks..
Copy it to his computer into his iTunes library and authorize his computer with the iTunes account used to purchase them..
You cannot tranfser items from one iTunes account to another. Purchased items remain part of the iTunes account is was purchased with.
iTunes account - used to purchase items
iTunes library - where purchases (and CD RIPs) go on the computer

  • Two iPhones, two iTunes accounts, only one Mac

I am sure hoping there is a simple way to use my iphone, my wife's iphone, our own separate iTunes accounts [and music libraries] on one MAC. How do you set that up and keep it all in synch??? Please help?
    Thanks!

My wife and I have done that, and yes, it gives you two separate music libraries, two separate address books, two separate calendars, etc.
In fact, many (but not all) of our contacts are the same; many (but not all) of our calendar entries are the same; many (but not all) of our iPhone apps are the same, etc. Is there a convenient way to sync some of this stuff, or keep some of it in a shared database?
And it's sort of a pain having to know my wife's App Store password as well as mine, just because sometimes my phone develops the misapprehension that it should be synced with her account rather than mine (or vice versa).

  • HT204053 can I have two cloud accounts on one mac. Different i tunes accounts and users

Can I have two ic;ouds on the same mac. This is a ridiculous set up. Why do I need to create a user name and insert all of this information just to get a simple answer. its no wonder people end up googling stuff rather than using this website.

If you prefer to Google, then Google. On here you stand a good chance of getting a direct answer from experienced users. And the login is necessary because without it we'd get more spam and stupid posts than we do now. Pretty well all online forums require an login for the same reason.
To answer your actual question. Firstly, you can use different Apple ID's for iTunes (and iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match) and iCloud itself, with email, Calendar and Contacts syncing, PhotoStream, and so on. There is no conflict about doing this.
If you want to use two separate actual iCloud accounts you can do one of two things:
    1. You can set up a second user account on your Mac: then each user account can be separately signed into and iCloud account with all its facilities.
    2. Having decided which iCloud account is to be your main one, and having signed into System Preferences>iCloud with it (and enabled Mail, Calendars and so on) you can sign in with the other account in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars. The email, calendars and contacts will appear alongside those belonging to the first account. The only differences from the primary account are a) Email is not 'pushed' but checked at intervals, and b) you can only use PhotoStream with the primary account.

i have been using the cloud without problems on my phone and new imac.  i just purchased a new iphone for my wife and set up a new i cloud account so her phone doesn't have to get my work calendar and contacts.  How can i use both icloud accounts on the same computer so we can both have our photos on the mac?

  • Two iTunes accounts on one mac.

My wife and I share a Mac mini with all of our music. We both sync our iPods to the same iTunes, meaning that we don't have different accounts for the computer. She has an apple ID attached to her credit card and I have a separate ID. Sometimes when she goes to buy things through the App store on her iPod Touch it prompts her for my Apple password and sometimes I am prompted for hers on my iPod Touch. How can we keep the accounts associated with the appropriate iPods?

Hey, i have (should i say HAD) the same question!

  • Can I have two iTunes accounts on one Mac?

Can I share my Mac with my wife so that we can both sync our iTunes accounts. I do not want us to get music or contacts crossed. Thanks
    RES

Yes.  The easiest way is to create separate user account for each of you and log into iTunes with the appropriate AppleID in that account.  Purchases, contacts, calendars, devices, etc will be kept entirely separate in the two accounts.
There is one caveat.  You can each play your content, purchase content, and sync your devices; however, only one AppleID *per computer* (NOT per account) may re-download content (including auto-download) or subscribe to Match. : That AppleID may only change once every 90 days.  It's a moronic rule that most people are unaware of until they get burned by it.

  • Can you have two itunes accounts on one mac

My husband bought a mac book pro with a larger screen and I have his smaller screen mac pro. His itunes are on my mac book pro. Do I have to delete his itunes to add mine? He has his itunes on his new mac book pro and iphone.  Thanks!

Yes, you can. Use separate Mac OS X user accounts, or launch iTunes with the Option key held down and switch between libraries as needed.

  • How can I have two iTunes accounts on one mac?

I have a late model iMac and am running Lion. I have an account for myself with admin privileges. I also have an iTunes account and a music and video library in iTunes. I sync my iPod and iPhone to the iTunes account regularly.
I recently added my spouse as a "Standard" user. She has an iTunes account, an iPhone and an iPad. How do I get her iTunes configured to download her music and apps to sync with her devices without destroying my own music and apps in the process? We keep getting a warning that all my stuff will be deleted without the possibility of reinstatement for 90 days! What is up?

I agree with Chris CA that this is the way I would *expect* iTunes to behave.
When I look at iTunes from my account (my music is in ~/Music/iTunes/ and not available to my spouse's account), I can see in my music library all my rips and my purchases, just as I would expect. I can use Store>View My Account (<myAppleID>) and all is as expected. Home sharing is NOT on.
Doing the same from the other account is not much different, actually. Nothing in the library yet, of course. Store>View My Account (<herAppleID>) also works. I CAN authorize my computer to play her music. I CAN view her iTunes purchases. When I attempt to download the purchases to HER library, though, I get the following dialog box:
Now I interpret this to mean that this computer (mine) will not download from a different AppleID (also mine) for 90 days. Is that [interpretation] correct?

I have visited a genuis bench at Fountain gate however, they tell me I need to ring apple support which I will do on the next working day.

You are going to need to change the email address you use with your old ID. Once you have got access to your old account you will then log into both accounts at the same time on your Mac and transfer your data to a single account. We can do this later, but need you to get access to your old account first.

  • Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (Impossible?)

Please can someone give me a straight forward answer to this question? I have read through the other similar forum questions and I still don't feel that I have found a definitive answer / solution.
Is it possible to do the following please:
Two iPhones + One Mac = One Shared Photo Stream (i.e. three devices that all have access to and update the Photo Stream as photographs are taken)
    If so, how?
If not, am I really the only person that wants to do this?
    Thanks (in anticipation).

Create a free email account at gmail, yahoo, outlook.com, or one of the other email services and use that to create the second Apple ID.
Also, create separate user accounts on your computer for each of you to avoid unintentionally mixing up your data.

  • I created two iTunes libraries on my mac mini and would like to merge them into one library. What is the easiest way to do this?

I created two iTunes libraries on my mac mini back in the day. I would like to consolidate them into one iTunes library. What is the easiest method to do this? I do use i-Match to access all my music from  iCloud, if that makes any difference.  Thanks. Mark

Thanks for the reply. When I created the 2 libraries years ago I would hold down the options key and had 2 library names to choose from. Now it just shows a lot of files when I do that, With over 7,000 songs I think I will just look for the few songs from the original library I used to use that still interest me, if they don't show up in my default current library. Thought there would be any easy was to integrate all my music files into one library. I am definitely not going to spend days manually doing this, but thanks again.
