Two Nanos, none stays on without the cable & both keep restarting.
The first one is green. By itself it's completely dead. When the data cable is plugged in the apple logo will pop up and after twenty seconds there will be a flash of the menu screen then it starts over again. Once in a while, it may show that it is connected then the PC recognizes it.
Resetting and restoring is unsuccessful.
Syncing completes but once the ipod is unplugged it goes off again.
Holding down the 'select + menu' or 'select + play' buttons don't work, even when I toggle the hold button.
Updating it results in an error code (1417)then the restarting cycle starts again.
The second one (silver) is similar. It displays the apple logo for a reccuring five seconds. Not detected, no functions available.
I'll be happy if I get even one to work.

I've got a new MacBook Pro Retina from october 2013 13" (8 gb Ram and 256 gb SSD).
I had the "freezing" issue that was solved with the firmware EDI update.
But after this update i have now another problem: often during web browsing the scroll with 2 fingers up and down the page stops working (but the trackpad is ok for everything else and if i go in other programs the scroll works as usual). The only solution is to restart the browser but the problem happens again and again.
Both on Chrome and Safari. Especially on Safari everything freeze if i try to scroll on the right to go back to the previous page.

You are still under warranty. Call Apple Care. Make sure you get a case number as all repairs have an additional 90 days of warranty.

I restored my ipod and the one cord that i was using got confused and thought my ipod was someone elses, and now i cant restore all my stuff that it had on before.
First of all, did you back up your iPod before you restored it? If you did, then when you restored it, you either set it up from the wrong backup or you set it up as a new iPod, but didn't go through all the steps, so it displays it as another device. Re-restore it from the backup you had before (assuming you made one)

I can actually hold a key and it will take me to the logins and when I login I have to hold the key the whole time I'm on it or else it restarts. What do I do to fix this problem? Please help

Based on your description of being able to Safe Boot (holding down the shift key) but not boot normally, it sounds like your startup/restart issue may be related to one of the things that Safe Boot disables. You can find more information about them here:

My iPod Touch will no longer stay connected to the internet
Right before updating to iOS 6, I was using FaceTime and other various apps that require an internet connection, and they all worked just fine.
After updating to iOS 6, I noticed that things took a much longer time to load, such as Facebook. I then noticed that FaceTime was now extremely laggy, and often disconnected within 30 seconds (note that both sides are using wi-fi, not data plan). Now my iPod won't even stay connected to the internet, it keeps automatically disconnecting itself when I try to use FaceTime and tells me to "Log in" whenever I try to re-connect, only to send me to an apple site that says my search could not be found?Though I'm not sure what that does, it was off o.O I turned it to auto, I am now able to use FaceTime but my App Store won't load any Categories, let's just hope Apple get's this sortded out soon.

My 3GS after updating iOS continuously keeps restarting until the battery dies.

After updating my 3GS, (I guess to iOS 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 I'm not sure, so the new iOS, two days ago) the phone continuously keeps restarting until the battery dies. I can't do anything with it because it is just restarting and restarting and restarting and... again and again and again....
Don't even try to tell me to do this or that... press this and that button for a couple of seconds, because the phone is just restarting. The Apple logo appears on the screen and sometimes the small circle as well for a couple second and then the Apple logo again, continuously again and again. I got this itunes message when connecting the phone to the computer: "We're sorry, we are unable to connect with your activation at this time." So again the phone does not respond to anything, just restarting and restarting untill the battery dies.
I went to the Apple store to ask the Apple genius team, but with no luck, unfortunately. He didn't know anything that would help. Now I'm looking for an Apple genius outside the Apple store... So now you geniuses out there try to resolve this problem.

Thanks in advance!Sounds like the battery needs recalibrating but letting the phone die and then charging over night normally helps. Have you tried resetting the phone by holding the power and home button until it turns off and reboots? Try that, letting the phone run down till it turns off a few times and charge it over night. If not you may have to restore your phone via iTunes, make sure you have a current back up, or restore as new if that fails, add all your contacts etc back manually that might remove any corruption you could have. Note you will lose game data etc that way but its normally the best way to sort issues if all else fails.

We use one windows machine and two mbp's (post 2012) at home. We have a modem *** router from a non apple vendor that airport utility finds and connects with absolute ease. But doesn't stay connected. The signal drops often, what can I do?
No, not all network clients -- only the two mac portables and they run together very rarely. The windows machine is hardwired to the modem router combo, and that's always sailing smooth. The mbp that is most used is perhaps 20 feet max from the router - and in another room. But it also happens when I take in into the same room as the router. On occassion, I have noticed while using network diagnostics, that one digit in the IP number sometimes appears to go awry. I then try to set up manually - and it works for a bit but is hugely erratic.
I rigged a hand me down airport express and set up a separate network for the two macs and it ran beautifully for some weeks, but that little piece is now dead and none of the retailers in my suburb seem to have one in stock. I don't want to be forced to buy an airport extreme and here in India, there's no trustworthy online ordering option.
The man from the ISP's been here several times and I don;t think it is a modem/dsl issue because the smartphone connects and the macbook drops when both are the same distance from the router? I am truly foxed and intensely irritated! :-( -
I have an array of clusters. Each cluster pertains to a certain oscilloscope I am controlling. There is another control which specifies which oscilloscopes I have "on".
If a particular oscilloscope is "on" I want its cluster to be VISIBLE in the array. If a particular oscilloscope is "off" I want its cluster to be INVISIBLE in the array.
How can I implement this in my program without losing ANY of the info. in my array?I suggest to use two arrays; one for user interface holding the ON clusters,
and one for internal use holding all clusters. The diagram periodically
updates the internal array with user interface array data.
By INVISIBLE do you mean "skipped from the array" or displayed as an empty
placeholder? To hide an OFF cluster you could put in the cluster a flat
button boolean that is small and transparent when ON and large enough to
cover the whole cluster area (and other controls) when OFF.

My old mac screen broke down and I would like to transfer my photos and documents to my new mac. Is it possible to transfer it with the cable without fixing my old mac screen? Please help!
Sure! If the two Macs have Thunderbolt ports, attach a Thunderbolt cable between them. If they have FireWire, or if one has FireWire and one Thunderbolt, connect a FireWire cable (with a TB adaptor if necessary). Reboot the old Mac holding down the T key. Make sure it's connected to power. You'll now see its system drive appear on the desktop of the other Mac and you can use Migration Assistant to automatically transfer files, or drag them over manually.

How do you expect to get internet if the TC is not connected to the internet?
The TC can work stand alone.. true enough but that will then involve considerable issues in setting up two different IP addressing regimes .. you can just bridge the TC and use it as WAP and switch plus hdd without having to route. -
Hi, my MacBook Air is not working anymore if it's not connected with the power cable. It's pretty new so I can't imagine that the battery is dead already. Why can't I use my MacBook Air without the power cable even though I charged it for hours?
