Two NLB Cluster at one CAS Server

Hi Team
I have a issue, I have three CAS Server with CAS array configuration enable.
and then I have third party app  in my CAS server.
so I have two cluster nlb config in my CAS server, one is a securemail.contoso.com
the member is CAS01 and 02. this is for third party app
the other is webmail.contoso.com
this is for Exchange CAS. the member is CAS01,02,and 03
suddenly my CAS01 cant be ping and I had event id nlb 18
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd348820(v=ws.10).aspx
I there any misconfig with my CAS?
Thanks

Hi Ichwan Lubis,
I think it should be an NLB issue which is more than an Exchange issue. I’d like to know whether the Outlook lost the connection when the CAS01 was down. Does the CASArray automatically
failover to other CAS members?
For NLB event errors, it’s recommended to ask on our Windows Server forum:

  • Can I configure two webserver domain in one windows server

Can I configure two webserver domain in one windows server with default port. ( i.e 80 )
For Ex:- http://server-name/psp/DOMAIN/?cmd=login and another one
    http://server-name/psp/DOMAIN2/?cmd=login.
If not please let me know the workaround to do so. B'coz i don't want to put portnumber in my second URL..

    Hi,
You can even have serveral domains within the same webserver instance.
During PIA installation (of the second) choose option existing domain and then add an additional site.
Give the domain a unique name and port to your second application server and you are ready to go.
I usually do this on sandbox environments to keep the sandbox small , with several databases (Portal, HCM, FIN, CRM) and one PIA with serveral domain.
But is definitely not what you should do for production systems.
Each application should have it's one PIA instance.
    Hakan
I didn't read the port number requirement.
You can only run one webserver instance on a port number for example port 80.
But you can still have one webserver PIA with serveral domain on the same port number as described above.

  • Use Different mailbox or same mailbox if setup two accepted domains in one Exchange Server 2010

    Hi,
I want to know if I setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010, will it have another mailbox or use same mailbox?

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, to add a new name in the accepted domain list is to add a SMTP address suffix for the mailboxes. Thus, it uses the same mailbox if you setup two accepted domain in one Exchange Server 2010.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Two Oracle databases on one AIX Server - Note working, Pls Help

    Dear Friends,
I have installed Two SAP systems with Two Oracle Databases on one AIX machine, The Installation of both the systems went fine without any errors, and also i have been able to login to both the systems seperately. (that means i cant start both the systems at a time, its one at a time)
But the problem is of the Oracle Listener, i am not able to start both the systems with single Oracle Listener processes(tnslistener). I tried all the possible scenarios as mentioned in note 98252 but nothing seems to be of any use so far.
the thing is i can start either one of the SAP Systems, But my objective is to start both the SAP Systems with one listener processes (LISTENER) and one listener port (1527)
    Or
you can say i am also ready to keep two different listeners for TWO seperate Oracle databases, I tried doing so as per one of the sap notes in which you have to keep different names of listener and different numbers for listener port for second ORACLE database. I tried doing exactly mentioned in the note but yet unsuccessful...
Now i am completely lost as what is to be done since its critical i want you to immediately look into it and suggest me the appropriate solution so that i can set up both of my DEVELOPMENT and QUALITY system running...
To troubleshoot this if you require anything from my side then please feel free to ask me since our functional consultants have to soon start working on the SAP systems.
    Regards
    Ayush

The note you specified talk about 2 database instances not 2 databases... (I was starting to wonder how you deploy 2 databases), you can have multiple database instances on a DB. The note also give you detailed explanation of the configuration of listener.ora
Now, if this is the case and you have installed 2 instances (not databases) on the same host and configured the listener according to the note, then you should be able to call R3trans -d from both SID's.. if the R3trans fails please post the contents of trans.log here.
the thing is i can start either one of the SAP Systems, But my objective is to start both the SAP Systems with one listener processes (LISTENER) and one listener port (1527)
Then, the configuration of your listener.ora file must be incorrect.

  • Evironment with two Netweaver systems and one BPC server

    Hi there,
I heard it could be possible to use only one BPC microsoft server and direct one development/test netweaver system and one production NW system to exactly one BPC server?
Can I somehow define two instances on the BPC server? How about transport management?
We plan to implement BPC NW 7.0 or 7.5 if version is available in time.
    Thanks in advance,
    Dierk

    Hello Nilanjan,
    thanks for the immediate response!
I understood that you can access different BPC servers using one client. That would be achivable entering different servers withtin the connection wizard?
My question is if it would be possible to only have one physical .NET server and the dependent BPC client from where I can access two separate Netweaver servers (test/production). This would need something like a switch where the Netweaver system can be selected.
Reason is that my customer gets his servers hosted and wants to avoid to pay for two .NET servers.
To run development and production version of Netweaver on one physical system is not possible/recommended at all I heard.
    Kind regards,
    Dierk

  • Transfer data from two oracle version to one sql server 2005

    Hi,
I have two database servers on different machines. They are
    1) Oracle 8.1.7.4
    2) Oracle 7.3.1.4
I have to create agents which can transfer tables from these two databases to one machine having sql server 2005 database.
Please tell me what are the options. What drivers i need to install on machine having sql server 2005 so that i can transfer data from both oracle versions.
    Thanks
    Rajneesh.

Your Oracle databases are so old you might want to look around and see if you can find dinosaur bones near by.
Given the differences in data types between Oracle and SQL Server I'd suggest you start off by dumping the data into delimited ASCII files and then loading it using whichever SQL Server tool you wish.

  • Solution load Balancing for two Servers  run Sun One Web Server 7.0

    Hi All ,
I must configure load balancing web server for two server . Could you tell me Solution ?
    Please help
    Thanks .

The following should help you configure Web Server to reverse proxy (load balance) to your two backend servers.

  • Can we have two domains websites in one SharePoint server?

I have two load-balanced WFE servers hosting SharePoint 2013.  I would like to have two domains rendering different websites on this.  For e.g., I would like to have http://abc.com and http://xyz.com on the same server/farm.  Is it possible?
    Thanks in advance!
    LM

No that won't be an issue.
As far as SharePoint is concerned each web application is capable of functioning a more or less independent system.
    This process describes the process
    http://spshare.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/how-to-create-host-header-web.html
You would simply follow that process twice, using a different domain name in the host header field.

  • Staging the NLB cluster Static port change of Exchange 2010 CAS or do it all in one day ?

    Folks,
Here is the server deployment in my AD domain:
Email flow and Outlook client connection go through the NLB cluster VIP email.domain.com.au which is served by the following server:
    PRODHT-CAS01 (HT-CAS Server Windows NLB node 1)
    PRODHT-CAS02 (HT-CAS Server Windows NLB node 2)
Public Folder access through Outlook client goes through the following servers:
    PRODMBX01 (Stand-alone Mailbox Server 1) no DAG
    PRODMBX02 (Stand-alone Mailbox Server 2) no DAG
Can I make the changes first on the first stack of Exchange Server set as below first:
    PRODHT-CAS01 (HT-CAS Server NLB node 1)
    PRODMBX01 (Stand-alone Mailbox Server 1) no DAG
in order to test the Outlook email & Public Folder connectivity in the first week and then followed by the rest of the server set:
    PRODHT-CAS02 (HT-CAS Server NLB node 2)
    PRODMBX02 (Stand-alone Mailbox Server 2) no DAG
would that cause the NLB or user email access problem?
Do I have to make the changes all in one day for those four servers followed by the reboot?
Reason of changing: The hardware load balancer (Riverbed) requires to have static RPC port to work properly.
This is the article to change the Static port in my NLB cluster Exchange HT-CAS server role on Exchange Server 2010 SP2: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/864.configure-static-rpc-ports-on-an-exchange-2010-client-access-server.aspx
    Thanks in advance.
    /* Server Support Specialist */

All the servers behind the load balancer must be the same.
You can change the stand alone MBX server's RCA port as that traffic is not load balanced.
Changing Exchange is straight forward, just be careful to enter the registry keys correctly and then check AB and RCA is listening on the new static ports after you restart the services.

    Rhoderick,
Many thanks for the suggestion. My goal here is to minimize any impact / email service downtime to the user while configuring the static ports.
    1. Do I have to dissolve the Windows NLB cluster after the static port configuration on both HT-CAS servers or can I still keep the NLB cluster?
    2. "All the servers behind the load balancer must be the same." Do you mean do I have to do the static RPC port the same day for all server set ?

  • 11g Multiple Rpd on one BI server connecting to two different data marts

    Hi
Did anyone tried and successfully implemented multiple rpds on one bi server. I have similar requirement in one of the clients place.
    1. Install OBIEE 11g with vertical scaling( reason client doesnt want to spend extra money on additional server licenses) and would like to utilize the powerful existing servers.
    2. Install 2 rpds on One BI Server and connect to two different datamarts.
    3. Create two PS and provide two links to have two different reporting environments.
Appreciate with any pointers. I am very clear on Vertical Scaling and bumping up the Bi , PS and Java Hosts components. I saw a post with successful implementation of the same functionility in 10g and nothing in 11g. I already reviewed ritmanmeed blogs but did not give a complete picture of successfull implementation.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Yes, it is possible to have two different .rpds on one BI Server but then you need to set up two different Presentation Servers.

  • Multiple NLS in one web server

    Hello all ,
    currently i have the following:
    DB1 ,ar8mswin1256 characterset , accessed from web application with nls = ar8mswin1256 .
    DB2 , WE8ISO8859P1 characterset , accessed from web application with nls = WE8ISO8859P1.
i want to consolidate the two database into one utf8 , and put the two web applications into one web server (Microsoft IIS ).
    Question1:
Now , for the two applications , what characterset should i use ( in the client side)? utf8,ar8mswin1256, WE8ISO8859P1.
    Question2:
In Microsoft IIS web server how can i set a different Charaterset for each web applications? the entry for the NLS is in the registry and shared by whols applications in the server and there is no option in the command "ALTER SESSION" to set the characterset.
    Thanx for your help
    null

If you use Oracle9i (at least) database and client, then both the database and the NLS_LANG should be AL32UTF8.
Microsoft IIS by itself does not read NLS_LANG. It has to use some Oracle interface to get to the database. Anyway, the recommendation is to use whatever Microsoft IIS and your programming environment have available to work in Unicode UTF-8. You do not need two separate NLS_LANG values.

  • More webdispatchers on one "physical" server serving more WAS

Hi we have two different web AS which we both need to access from the
outside(HTTPS port 443). Normally you would just install two web dispatchers on two
    different servers.
However it would of course be preferable if you could install the two
web dispatchers on one physical server.
I have seen a document by Jochen Rundholz where it's mentioned that
this is the recommended way to do it. Infortunately I have not been
able to find any more documentaion on how.
Do any of you have any more documentation on how to configure this?
    Best regards
    Flemming Grand

    Hi Flemming
    Hi,
We can install multiple web dispatcher on one host (with different SIDs)
Note: until release 7.20 (same kernel/web dispatcher also in 7.02) you need 1 wd per message server. It is also possible to cascade them. see note:
    https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/740234
the mandatory rule is ONE webdispatcher per ONE message server until 7.02/7.20 (exception: dual stack setup with Java addin, which is not not recommended anymore by SAP except for Solution Manager
If you have only one ip:port for the internet, but several web dispacthers, becasue you have several system with several central systems/ message server, then you have to cascade the Webdispatcher. One Web Dspatcher collects all others WDs for the internet IP:port.
Virtual IP adresses is IMHO more relevant for high availability and/or ACC adaptive computing controlling if you want to move Systems to different physical hosts.
Also please check the following link:

I hope the info in this helps you.

  • How to Verify That I Need Another CAS Server

We have one CAS server and I am thinking we need a second and to set up some load balancing. However, mgmt wants to know what the threshold is for one CAS server before introducing a second is needed. What do I need to be measuring or can someone point
me towards some documentation of what the limits are for a single CAS server before you need a second one?

    Hi,
As far as I know, we can use performance monitor to check the client access server counters.
If most counters are over the expected value, we can add a new CAS server.
For more information about the proper value of the counters, you can refer to the following article:

  • One primary site with a remote DP/MP, or two with a CAS server?

    Hi
For a new SCCM 2012 environment, we have the following setup:
    - HQ site with 1500 PCs/users
    - Branch office in a separate AD site, slow WAN link, 120 PCs/users
Now, I'd like to keep the setup simple so my first instinct is to deploy one primary site with a server in the branch office fulfilling the MP/DP/PXE/Update Point roles.
However, the site has a local technician who needs the ability to deploy images to the local machines. Running the console from the branch office to the HQ site is not an option, since consoles (such as ADUC) have very poor performance over the WAN.
This brings me to the option of either a primary HQ site with a branch secondary site (something I'd like to stay away from, since it requires SQL and the technician would still need to connect the console to the primary site anyway!), or 2 primary sites both
connected by a CAS server. For what the technician needs, I think this is overkill, and I don't like the idea of the added complexity, or keeping both sites in-step as far as replication is concerned.
Im leaning towards the 1 primary site, remote MP/DP option, but Im not sure how the technician would image machines without the console. I thought perhaps creating an optional advertisement to a dynamic collection that he could control another way (e.g.
using a registry key), giving him the option to trigger deployments.
    Thoughts?

Having a local DP will ensure that all deployments are made locally if the content is distributed.
You'll have to get your content there first, if possible build your DP in your main office and ship it to the remote location after. Otherwise use prestage content. Getting GB of stuff throught that link will otherwise take days.
For your deployment, why does the technician need access to the console  ? Could you deploy to "unknown computers" ?

  • The Cluster not failover when i shutdown one managed server?

Hello, I created one cluster whit two managed servers, and deployed an application across the cluster, but the weblogic server gave me two url and two different port for access to this application.
    http://server1:7003/App_name
    http://server1:7005/App_name
When I shutdown immediate one managed server i lost the connection whit the application from this managed server, My question is, the failover and de load balancer not work, why??
    Why two diferent address?
    thank any help

Well you have two different addresses (URL) because those are two physical managed servers. By creating a cluster you are not automatically going to have a virtual address (URL) that will load balance requests for that application between those two managed servers.
If you want one URL to access this application, you will have to have some kind of web server in front of your WebLogic. You can install and configure Oracle HTTP Server to route requests to WebLogic cluster. Refer this:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/e10144/intro_ohs.htm#i1008837
And this for details on how to configure mod_wl_ohs to route requests from OHS to WLS:
    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/web.1111/e10144/under_mods.htm#BABGCGHJ
    Hope this helps.
