Two phones under same icloud!

My iphone 4 and my partners iphone 4S are both connected to my icloud, and we didn realise it would sync and put both of our contacts together on both phones, we didnt realise and I deleted all his contacts off my phone which ended up his contacts being erased off his phone also, so we only got my contacts on both phones. How do i get his contacts back up? I have restored my phone on itunes but nothing has changed as we never backed up our phones. Need help!!

WOW! I know there is a sharing thing on iTunes but I didn't know it would go THAT far. I have two phones that synced contacts because I chose to restore from a back up I had made on iTunes. I'm not too familiar with undeleting things in the cloud. If I find something I will post.
Does your computer have the contacts in an application like Outlook? or Google Contacts? You could get the from there using iTunes Sync if they are on your computer anywhere. Also, if you ever used android you may have a contacts backup under your google account.

  • Stop texts to two phones on same icloud

Upgraded to iOS 8.1.2 and share same icloud with spouse. Now receiving spouse's text messages when on same wifi. We were able to turn off calls and handoffs, but can't find button to turn off messages/texts. How can we do this?

    Hi dawoz,
I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with the new Continuity features in iOS 8. If you are receiving each other's text messages in Messages, you may need to go into the settings and check to see which entries are listed for You Can Be Reached By and Text Message Forwarding, as described in the following article:
To use Continuity for SMS and MMS with your iPhone and your Mac, iPad or iPod touch
Your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch need to use iOS 8.1, and your Mac needs to use OS X Yosemite.
Sign in to iMessage on your iPhone, your other iOS devices, and your Mac using the same Apple ID.
    On your iPhone:
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive > You Can Be Reached By, and add a check to both your phone number and email address.
Go to Messages > Text Message Forwarding, and enable the device(s) you would like to forward messages to.
Your Mac, iPad, or iPod touch will display a code. Enter this code on your iPhone to verify the SMS feature.
Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
    Regards,
    - Brenden

  • I have two phones under the same apple ID and I want to put them on two separate apple IDs. how do I do this?

I have two phones under the same apple ID and I want to put them on separate apple IDs, how do I do this??

If you sign out of an Apple ID under Settings > iCloud, you should be prompted for an option to 'Keep on my iPhone' in regards to Contacts and other related data.  Then, when signing in with another Apple ID on that same iPhone, you should be prompted to 'Merge'.  If you do both, then you won't lose any Contacts, and the iCloud Contacts will then be merged into the new Apple ID iCloud, but also will stay on the old Apple ID iCloud.
In the future, it might be best to post your own question thread instead of bumping a thread that is over two years old.

They cannot be tracked unless connected to WiFi.

  • HT4910 Have two phones with same apple id as I got one for my hubbie .he tried to back up his numbers in I cloud . Our contacts have now merged and neither can delete from our phone without it coming off the other . Any ideas how we can stop this

Have two iPhones with the same id as I got hubbie one in week and when I got it they asked for email address so I gave the one we use, so when my husband started phone up he just put my password in. When he tried to back his numbers on iCloud they all appeared on my phone and now I can't delete his numbers without them deleting on his phone as well . Any help would be appreciated.

You'll have to migrate one of the phones to a different account, then delete the other person's data from each account (you can continue to share the same Apple ID for purchasing from the iTunes and app stores).
Decide which iPhone will be keeping the current iCloud account.  On the one that will be changing accounts, if you have any photos in photo stream that are not in your camera roll or backed up somewhere else save these to your camera roll by opening the photo stream album in the thumbnail view, tapping Edit, then tap all the photos you want to save, tap Share and tap Save to Camera Roll.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My iPhone.  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID (if you don't have one, tap Get a Free Apple ID at the bottom).  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't from each account.

  • HT204053 Use two phones with one iCloud account?

Can you have two iphones with one iCloud account?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Absolutely. There is no problem whatsoever in using a single iCloud account for two phones. However, saying that, if the two phones are used by different people, it may well not be the best of ideas.

  • Two iPhone under one iCloud account - trying to send a text to the other phone but I am the one getting hte message from myself...? How do I fix that?

I have recently added a iPhone 4S to my account (my daughters) and I tried to send her a text message but I got the message sent to my phone... How can I fix this?

Don't use the same Apple ID for iMessage.  (You can continue to share the same ID for iTunes and have separate IDs for other services such as iMessage and FactTime.
One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  If you're sharing the same ID for FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime to keep from getting each other's FaceTime calls.

  • Can I have two Iphones on same iCloud account?

I use two separate Iphones on my Itunes account for easy access.  However, I would like to activate Icloud on both phones but I'm guessing each phone would need a separate acount otherwise they would just sync the same info (calanders, contacts, etc.) correct?
But could I at least use the Find My Iphone app on the second Iphone if I just leave all the other Icloud options off?  If I activate Find My Iphone on the second phone, will it just show two Iphones in the menu when I search for the Iphone on my Mac, or do I need to set up a second Icloud account for the second phone?
    Thanks,
    Ehren

    That will work just fine.

  • I have two phones sharing one icloud account. How do I keep the phones for sharing stock application information?

I have two iphones and three macbook pros. Instead of using my ical server to sync my calendar I am now using icloud to sync the calendars. Since I implemented this the stocks on each phone which were different are now same when the phone syncs. How do I break the syncing between the iphone stock applications?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.

  • Two iPhones using same iCloud account with separate contact lists?

Our family has two iPhones and we each use different contact lists.  If we use the same Apple Id is there a way to separate the contact lists in iCloud or do we need separate account (i.e Apple Id's)?

I have my iphone and ipad on Apple icloud services and it finds both units. I think you have to have different account names set up in order to use it. Do you have itunes? if so you can add the device from there. For instructions go to http://www.apple.com check under support, then forums to see if that has been posted.
    Good Luck

  • How to manage two iphones on same icloud account

I recently purchased additional storage on icloud (200gigs) and my wife and I are both using the same account under my name.  Now my photos, notes and reminders etc. are showing up on her phone.  Is there any way to change the settings so that her backed up data stays on her phone and mine stays on mine only?

If you are syncing Contacts, Notes and Reminders, no. That is an account (AppleID) specific function. Backups, however, are another matter and would remain separate since they are device specific.

  • Two phones under one apple id

my phone can not send or receive messages under my own phone number

iCloud contacts will merge between devices as long as the apple id signed in are the same.

  • Problem in Adding two buttons under same column header (in JTable)

    Hi,
I have a JTable and to a particular column i want to add two buttons.
Here the two buttons should be under the same column header and i need to add listners to these.
Any idea how to do this?
    Thanks & regards
    Neel

Of course as your header is drawn by a renderer, the buttons don't actually work, but you can listen for mouse clicks within the area of the header and see which button the mouse position was over.
See the Java Table Sorter Demo code for how to add a mouse listener to the header...
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/components/example-1dot4/index.html#TableSorterDemo
....and from there you should be able to determine where in the component the click occured by using the getX() and getY() methods of the MouseEvent to determine which button in the renderer component was clicked. Use something like Rectangle.contains() to match the click location against the buttons.

  • Trouble sycning two phones on same computer - mixed up apps

Both I and my wife have an iphone.  One computer with itunes.  Whenever I sync either her or my phone, I get some of her apps, and she gets some of mine.  Somestimes I can't update an app cause it's technically my wife's app, and vice versa. Help!!!

Are you sharing the same iTunes account, or do you have different accounts?
If the iTunes account is shared, whatever apps you have selected under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes will be available on your iPhone and vice-versa.
If you have different accounts, the same applies but before syncing your iPhone with iTunes you just log in with your iTunes account with iTunes and vice-versa.
