Two platforms for Photoshop CC?

If I buy Photoshop CC, can I install it on my Windows desktop AND my Macbook Air?

In Creative Cloud this is not the case.
It is platform independant and you can install on both Windows and Mac OSX.
If you go to "Getting Started" section and FAQ#3, it is clearly mention
"Yes, you can use Creative Cloud desktop applications on two computers at once, regardless of operating system, for the individual associated with the Creative Cloud membership."

  • Why are there two updates for Photoshop

    CC desktop shows updates for:
    Photoshop CC
    Photoshop CC (2014)
    What are the differences?

Because apparently it is programmed deep, deep into Adobe's DNA that they cannot possibly manage to come up with a straightforward, clean, and logical installation process. It is demonstrably beyond what's possible for Adobe. I say that based on years and years of dealing with their byzantine, buggy, and bloated installers. The Cloud was supposed to magically make things better.
I also now have two versions of After Effects, Audition, Flash, Illustrator, Media Encoder, Muse, and Photoshop residing on my computer.
    Why?
Well, because the Creative Cloud installer didn't really "update" the current software...it just installed new versions next to the old ones.
    Why?
Beats the hell out of me. But I'm pretty sure if I expend my time to contact Adobe's support folks I will be told to go through some process of manually removing each copy of the old software. They won't know why the "upgrade" process worked this way, and they won't care. They'll just cheerfully advise me to waste my time cleaning up Adobe's mess. Again.
Looking forward to the day I no longer need to use Adobe products.
    Are you listening, Apple?

  • Double entry for Photoshop CC 2014 in Edit In Menu

In trying to correct a problem with Lightroom trying to find Photoshop CC 2014 when I clicked on it in the Edit In menu I ended up with two entries for Photoshop CC 2014. And when I click on either one it wants to open as either a PSD or TIFF file rather than than a raw file with the LR adjustments. I have tried reinstalling both Photoshop and LR without any success in correcting the problem. What are my next steps?

Have you installed Camera Raw 8.7? If you have Camera Raw 8.7 and Lightroom 5.7 then you shouldn't get that message asking you to create a copy. But in either case, once the editing in Photoshop is completed a TIF or PSD file must be created. Whichever file type is saved depends on your preference settings. Photoshop is not capable of editing or saving raw image data. By the time the image has been opened in Photoshop is no longer raw image data and must be saved in a different file format.

  • How do I download Photoshop for windows xp and vista.... I currently pay per month for photoshop and a computer running vista i ned to install photoshop on two aditional machines. How can I download, photoshop says I have an os that is no longer supported

I have a computer running windows vista that I pay per month for photoshop, I want to use photoshop on two other computers I have, not that it matters but they are both identical hardware wise, and software one runs xp and the other runs vista, I can upgrade but I am not intrested in other os. When I attempt to download I am told that my os is no longer supported. Now i know that I could find an offline version and should be able to get it installed but im not sure of a safe site that provides the iso or install exe. I want to use the other two computers because they have touch interface early computer/tablet highbird. thanks in advance.

Michaelt65951582 I am sorry but you will need to run at least the minimum operating system to use Photoshop.  You can find the system requirements at System requirements | Photoshop.  I would recommend upgrading to Windows 7 or later.  You may find that your computer can support the more recent operating system depending upon the hardware installed.

How do I change platform for downloading and installing Photoshop Elements from Windows to Mac?

As long as your license supports both platforms you should only have to download the Mac version and install/activate using your serial number.  If you need help finding a link to download the file, please indicate the PSE version you need.

  • Updating problem for Photoshop 7.0

For two weeks now, I have been unable to downoal routine updates. I get a window that says "Adobe online error" and "file could not be downloaded" and "An unknown internet error has occurred" And there is a long http://cgi... address. Please send me an Adobe tech support e-mail address to which I can mail the screen shot of the above and/or tell me what is happenning and how to fix it. Thanks!
    my e-mail: <Removed by Moderator>

What error do you receive when you try to apply the updates directly?  You mentioned it was not able to locate your current installation.  Do you have Photoshop 7.0 installed or have you already applied the update?
If you still have access to the installation media you may want to remove the current installation and reinstall.  You can find a list of the Windows updates for Photoshop 7 at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=39&platform=Windows.

  • Installing an extension _just_ for Photoshop x64 (or i86)

    Hello folks,
As part of our product we are installing a Photoshop panel (using XManCommand.exe command line utility from the Adobe Extension Manager CS5 suite). While in the Extension Manager there are two separate entries for Photoshop 64 and 32, it seems that this command always installs the panel for both platforms. Our installer natuarally allows the user to install the product for each platform separately, so I wonder how can we install the panel just to either 64 or 32 bit version of Photoshop?
    Ditto for the uninstall.
    Thanks in advance!
       ivar

May I ask why you want to distinguish PS 64 and PS 32 for Creative Suite Extension? As far as I know, Creative Suite Extension should not care about the runing environment: 32bit or 64bit.
As you mentioned, currently there is only "Photoshop" or "Photoshop Extended" in manifest.xml, so Photoshop doesn't distinguish 32 and 64 for Creative Suite Extension. Hence, after the Creative Suite Extension is installed, both Photoshop64 and Photoshop32 would load this Creative Suite Extension.
The only way is to ask that Photoshop team to provide additional entries in manifest.xml so that Extension Manager can distinguish PS 32 and PS 64.  If Photoshop can provide like "Photoshop32" , "Photoshop64", "Photoshop Extended 32" and "Photoshop Exteneded 64", Extension Manager would be able to distinguish 32 and 64.
    Note:
If you only want that extension is listed under Photoshop32 or Photoshop64 in the Extension Manager UI, there is one workaround for this. But note even that extension only occurs for Photoshop32 or Photoshop64,  both Photoshop32 and Photoshop64 would load this extension.

  • Building a GOD   BOX    for   PHOTOSHOP CS 2  need help on specs

I will review my situation in detail but If you would like to also read a linked similar posting here it is::

Ok so, I made a deal with the local PC shop, I will be trading my time as a photographer for a large portion of the cost of hardware that they would otherwise not be selling. Some things they will have to order but most of the things I need even the high end stuff they already have. So Money is of no object.
I am running into issues with my current system being that it is nearly 6 years old and I custom built it for under $150 Monitor included. Since then I have upgraded my Camera Equipment as I have become more and more sucsessfull with my photography business. I am currently shooting 16.7 Megapixel files with my Canon 1DS Mark II and 22 megapixels with a rented hasselblad with a Phase One Digital Back. Frankly my 700Mhz machine just isn't cutting it. It's time to upgrade.
Now Normaly I would go All Mac and Get a top of the line G5 Quad processor unit fully upgraded however I am still young and dont have good credit dispite all my efforts and they just wont finance me. so this local PC shop is my only hope. Thus I need a top of the line system.
This computer is going to be expandable so I need to have extra drive bays so a Full Server Tower is in order I think!
Also I am opting for aluminum Case because it is more conductive than plastic and should help radiate some of the heat this GOD BOX is going to Generate.
I could use some specifics for each of the areas, if anyone has experience with high end systems and would like to recommend hardware I am all ears. The information is only a light template. "think of it as a layer" nothing set in stone. However I would appreciate a swift reply because I will be building the system in less than a week!
    (( STORAGE & SPEED ))
I heard that having seperate hard drives is the way to go to improve performance. Also It will help me keep things organized and easy to reformat if I have a problem with an OS. here are the specs a friend suggested.
80 Gig Raptor HD for OS
180 GIG Serial ATA Raptor HD for Photoshop dedicated Scratch Disk
180 GIG Serial ATA Raptor HD for working files for Quick accessing (temp files).
two 320 Gig Serial ATA Raid slower more reliable Hard Drives for a Mirror Raid setup image reduncancy is a good thing for photographers when a currupt Hard drive means missed deadlines lost clients and lawsuits!! YIKES!
2 DVD + - Combo Drive's that can accept dule layer dvd's unless anyone has heard of the Maxell Holographic Optical Storage Media coming out early january?? 120MB/s transfer speed, 50+ years archive life up to 1.6 terrbytes of storage!! I cant wait until its in production!
(( Processor BUS SPEED MOTHER BOARDS AND MEMORY ))
I need the best most reliable PC Mother Board that can accept the fastest long duration memory, I am aware that there are some types of ram that have higher speeds but cant move as much data at a time. Since much of what i do is batch processing longer periods are a better solution for me than faster acceloration.
This is strictly a photoshop machine No games no email just photoshop the way computers were made to run.
Whats the best motherboard that suports dule / quad processor systems??? are there quad processor systems available for PCs? can photoshop CS 2 muchless Windows XP 64 support such hardware?
it's got to be 64bit processors dule core if possible
someone told me Dule channel DDR PC8000 is the way to go, ANY Comments?
Whats the best CRT Monitor for under $1200
I specify CRT vs LCD because LCD still dosn't have the quality in dynamic range that CRT have, and the DMAX of a LCD is much more worse than the Dmax of a CRT.
Some obvious perifials are Firewire 800 and 400 standard and USB 2.0 ports
is there any news of Photoshop accepting more than 4 GIGS of ram in the next update?? If so I may opt for a 8 G

  • Web application platforms for Azure

I have an application that resides in Azure and consists of a SQL database, a website that serves as the UI, and a Web API that exists simply to provide data from the SQL database to the API. The UI is a lightweight SPA developed in Durandal and Knockout.
So far I have screens for retrieving data, but not for manipulating it. I'd like to develop a UI that hooks directly into the SQL database and makes the API unnecessary.
I have used SharePoint in the past and like how easy it is to build Web-based applications with it. I'd like to redevelop my UI as a SharePoint application. However, I do not want to set up an entire SharePoint farm for this. I've participated in the installation
of a  SharePoint site, and I was overwhelmed by the administration.
I'm also a fan of wikis. I see that MediaWiki is an option. I'm concerned that it uses PHP and MySQL, two platforms that I am not that familiar with. I haven't installed MediaWiki and I don't know how easy it will be to interface it with a SQL Server database.
I also don't know whether MediaWiki provides data-entry forms. (I have used Wikidot for personal sites for several years. Wikidot provides markup that makes it easy to create data forms.)
Someone suggested that I create a virtual machine and install SharePoint Foundation in it. That could be an option if the cost is low and the amount of configuration needed is minimal.
    What are my options?

Look into SharePoint Online. You don't have to setup SharePoint and SQL. You don't have to worry about upgrades. You can start coding right away. You just have to check to make sure it has the features you are looking for.
