Two Printers one Express

I was wondering if I could attach 2 printers to one Airport Express using a USB hub?
Thanks
Paul

Its not supposed to be supported, but sometimes its possible.
Only with a powered hub, however.

  • Connecting two printers one IMAC

Is it possible to connect two printers to an IMac ?
One is a HP printer, fax, scanner and the other ia a canon printer only.
Currently, the Canon is connected via USB, and working fine, and I can print from my laptop over my wireless network.
What would happen if I plug in the HP in another USB port, will it conflict ? or just switch back and forth depending on which printer I want to use, even over the wireless network.
    Thanks

I have 3 connected, no problems whatsoever, you can hook up as many as you would like.

  • Two printers linked to one airport express

we link one HP printer to our airport express and everything is good. We now have one extra HP laser printer and is it possible to hook up two printers to one airport express?
Could we just buy an USB hub and plug both printers in and is it going to work in this case?
    Thanks!!!

No it only supports a single compatible USB printer.

  • Is it possible to print one document to two printers?

I need to print one document to two printers at the same time.
Can I accomplish this with printer pools in OSX Server?  I've found several 3rd party vendors for Windows, but nothing for the Mac.
    Any help would be great!
    Thanks!

    Thanks Alec!
Is there a way to get the print pool to print to both printers at the same time?  With the pool it just switches the jobs between the two right?
I actually need to click Print once, and have it print on both printers.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Print to two printers with one command?

Is there a way to print the same document to two printers with one command? I'd like to have every document I print automatically saved as a PDF at the same time.
    Thanks,
    Mark.
MacBook Pro (and 5 others)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

That would be a good use of the PDF Services available in OS X. You can use PDF Services with AppleScript or an Automator workflow.

  • Two printers need to be maintained for one key combination

    Hi Experts,
Requirement:-For one condition record two print out has to be determined on different printers.
As per my understanding we can maintain only one printer for any key combination here as per the requirement if some one has any idea if we can maintain two printers for the same key combination.

    Hi,
You cannot  assign two printers to one single combination of Condition record.
    This functionality is not possible.

  • Connecting two printers wirelessly to Airport network?

    Hi,
I currently have a working wireless network with the Linksys Wireless-B Broadband Router BEFW11S4 - which I believe is 802.11b - that connects 2-4 laptops at any point in time.
I just purchased the new Airport Extreme 54 mbp Base Station. I would like to
    1. Set up the Airport network.
    2. Put our two printers on the network and print wirelessly.
The printers are on are far away (1st floor) from the cable internet access point (2nd floor) so USB connection is not an option.
    I have two questions:
    1. Would it be better/simpler to purchase a print server to connect to my Airport network and make the two printers available for wireless printing?
    2. Is it possible to connect ("bridge") the two wireless routers and then place one router close to the printers and connect via USB. If yes, should the configuration be Airport to Linksys or Linksys to Airport?
If there are any more simple/smart solutions than the options I came up with - they will be much appreciated. Thanks for reading this long question!

Complex question that I don't think I can answer all of...
Airport Extreme Base Station - can connect only one USB printer - no hub permitted.
Print Servers (other than Extreme/Express) - work great for postscript printers, but are problematic with non-postscript printers. Printing to print servers uses "standard" protocols. In OS X, the "standard" protocols are provided by CUPS, so they need cups-capable drivers on OS X. Brother is the Only non-postscript printer manufacturer so far to provide CUPS drivers. Many non-postscript printers can be made to work with third-party drivers (Gimp-Print is one of these), but most people are unsatisfied with print quality (if you want to print photos for example).
I think wireless bridging will work with the Airport BS in the "receiving side" only -- but I haven't tried that.
For more help on the printers/network printing, need to know the printer models.
    Hope this gets you started.

  • I have a time capsule and two air port expresses. The time capsule is in the middle of my house, the expresses equidistant in opposite directions. I would like the expresses to both connect directly to the capsule, but they are connected in serial. How?

I have a time capsule and two air port expresses. The time capsule is in the middle of my house, the expresses equidistant in opposite directions. I would like the expresses to both connect directly to the capsule, but they are connected in serial. How to reconfigure.
I ask because I have music running out of both expresses, and the one that is most distant from the time capsule (routed through the first express) regularly drops the music signal from itunes. And I am guessing the serial configuration of the routers has something to do with this, but my root problem is music dropout - any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you have the the most current model of the Express devices, the default setup is to "extend" the wireless signal.  In this type of setup, each Express communicates directly to the Time Capsule.
How did you setup the AirPort Express devices?
What version of the Mac operating system are you using on your MacBook?   Or, do you have AirPort Utility installed on your iPad?

  • How to print to two printers via network?

    Hi,
I just moved into a new house with ethernet cabling throughout. I'd love to print to my two printers (HP LaserJet 1012 and a Canon iP3600) via the network without using a computer. However, I can't figure out how to do it.
    So far, I've tried:
Attaching a USB hub to my 1st generation Airport Extreme. Didn't work. Don't think they support hubs. I can print to either printer if individually hooked up, just not via the hub.
A D-Link D-301U USB ethernet print server. Misread the specs. Thought this came with two USB ports. Tried each printer individually, but couldn't figure out how to hook it up. Failed utterly with a USB hub attached.
The issue is NOT the network connection. No problems plugging my computer directly into the ethernet on the wall and getting great connectivity.
Any suggestions how to do this? I've heard that the latest Airport Extremes support printing through a USB hub...
    Thanks in advance.

The drivers provided by HP and Canon for those printers are USB-Only! You will have to use third-party drivers for each, to use the standard network print protocols. Apple has included one set of third-party drivers, Gutenprint, in OS X. To see if your printers are supported by the latest Gutenprint version, check here:

  • I have two printers of the same model registed in eprintcenter and can't differentiate between them.

I have two printers of the same model registed in eprintcenter and can't differentiate between them.
I've tried change varios names in each printer's settings but they still show up in eprintcenter with the model name. What can I do to change the name so I can diffentiate the two prineters?

Hi mptpro, the way to differentiate between your two printers within your ePrintCenter account is by their email address. The model name is automatically detected when you add the printer to your account and is not configurable but you can set the email address is. By giving each printer a distinctively different and meaningful email address you'll be able to differentiate between the two.
To change a printer's email address:
log in to your ePrintCenter account
    click on the Printers tab
select one of the printers and you will see the current email address for that printer just above the job history table
click the Change button to the right of the address and enter the desired name in the dialog box that opens
    repeat for the second printer
Hope this helps answer your question

  • Color management accross two printers.

    Hi,
We have two printers at work, one Epson Stylas Photo R1800 and one HP DesignJet Z2100. They want the colors to match across both printers for printing photographs, and do not want to use any RIP software.
    I have tried
    - getting the application to manage colors, with the Adobe RGB 1998 profile (having changed the document to this profile first)
    - both printers to print with Adobe RGB 1998 profile using printer managed colors (with document in Adobe RGB 1998 profile)
    - getting the application to manage colors with the print driver selected for the printer I am printing to in the print profile section of the adobe dialogue box (and the driver turned off in the printer dialogue box) and the image converted to CMYK.
    - Same as the above but with proof checked in photoshop dialogue box
    - lots of variations of the above trying different rendering intents
Whenever I let application manage colors, the prints come out very dark (and not the same dark colors across both printers). I am using the same paper for both printers.
Apparently the colors were not different until we upgraded to CS3 (before I joined the company)
    Any suggestions?

Not to sound jerky, but I might suggest buying a RIP. That's gonna be your best way to get prints to match. That, and to make a custom profile for each printer. You'll have the world at your fingertips. If your world is about color matching... which mine is!
That being said, I've goofed around with making a custom RGB profile for my Epson 7800 and had some luck with it. Your standard print drivers are always RGB. Even if you send CMYK, it converts to RGB and then back to its own CMYK when you print. Essentially, you will print an RGB target, use a spectrophotometer to read them in and make an RGB profile from it. Then, every image you print, you convert (not assign) to this profile. It's been a while since I tried this, but I'm pretty sure I turned off color management in the print dialog in order for this to work right. Again, this is not completely optimal but it's better than nothing.
If you don't have a spectrophotometer or software to make a profile, you should be able to find services online that can help you out, or ask a friendly color managed printer in town if they have a color management guru they turn to.

  • Two Printers stopped Recognizing 75 Cartridges at Same Tim

I have two HP printers. Photsmart C5580 and Photosmart C5250.
Both printers stopped recognizing the 75 color cartridge at the same time.
I have bought three 75 cartridges and both of my printers report:
"Cartridge in slot on left is not intended for use in this printer. Remove and replace."
I find it beyond reason that both of these printers would suddenly fail to recognize this cartridge.
Is it possible that there is some flaw in these cartridges?
The two printers are connected to two different computers... one operating XP and the other operating Windows Vista.
Anyone else having trouble getting new 75 cartridges to work in their C5250 or C5580?
    Thanks

MINE did today...printed fine yesterday...this morning it gave me that error message....nothing was changed...I dont understand it

  • Excel 2013 bug printing when using two printers with same driver

    Hi,
Was advise by "Community" to post this one here.
    The environment:
    Window 7 Sp1 x64
    Office 2013 Sp1 32 bit
    Windows 2012 Server (current patches).
Two IDENTICAL network connected printers shared from above Windows 2012 server.
As the two printers are the same, they both use the same printer driver.
Printer A is set to Greyscale. This is the default printer.
Printer B is set to Full Colour.
Open Excel and start a blank worksheet.
Choose Print - this shows the default printer (Printer A) - then Printer Properties - this verifies that the Default Printer is set to Greyscale as expected.
Change printer within Excel to Printer B - then printer properties again - this shows us that printing is STILL in Greyscale ignoring the Printer B settings. Printing will indeed produce a greyscale print on Printer B.
The reverse is also true - if we set Printer B (Color) as the Default, then choose Printer A (Greyscale) inside Excel, it will then show (and print) in Full Color - ignoring the printer A setting of greyscale.
This ONLY occurs when connecting to Shared Printers on a Windows host (Server 2012 in this case).
Direct IP printing from Win 7 to the printer works as expected (printer settings honoured).
Non-Windows server based printer sharing works as expected (printer settings honoured).
This ONLY occurs in Excel. Other programs including other Office components do not exhibit this bizarre behaviour.
This ONLY occurs where the same driver is used by both printers.
In effect, Excel is transposing the Default printer's settings onto whatever printer is chosen if it uses the same driver.
Installing Office 2013 Service Pack 1 made no difference.
This appears to be a long running issue (search result show Excel 2007,2010* and Windows 2008R2 server references).
*Confirmed same behaviour with Windows XP and Excel 2010.
This appears to affect multiple brands of printer (Xerox, Konica Minolta). Confirmed with 3 different generation Konica Minolta (Postscript) copiers and Dell multifunction (with PCL drivers).
Does anyone have a solution for this ?
Is there a setting hidden in Excel that should be changed ?
Is there a server setting to "isolate" the two printers from each other ?
    Regards
    Ian

    KR,
Thanks for the reply but note I said "The reverse is also true - if we set Printer B (Color) as the Default, then choose Printer A (Greyscale) inside Excel, it will then show (and print) in Full Color - ignoring the printer A setting of greyscale."
Also, it is the printer properties that are being set. I believe the setting you refer to is per worksheet ?
    Cheers

  • Wireless printing - two printers

I have the first generation (updated) iPad and two printers (wireless set up). My iPad only picks up one of them. How do I get use of both printers?

You can check for possible firmware upgrades at the HP support site.  Just search for your printer model and click on "Drivers".  In many instances, the printer's firmware must be updated in order to use AirPrint.  Read your printer's manual about the steps required to update the firmware.
Also, remember that in order to use both printers, both have to be on the same wireless network as your iPad.
Deggie, I believe you can also download the FW update to your main computer and then use the HP Utility to install it.  I had to do this with my LaserJet Pro CP1525 before I could use AirPrint.
