Two problems/issues, page name length and alt images

I'm using iWeb 06. iWeb is converting the page names to such ridiculous codes and I don't know how to change this. I did a search here and found that extra symbols in page names could cause this, but that isn't the case here.
And I also see via searching that unless one has a great knowledge of html, there is no easy way to establish alt image text? Is that true?

I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

I was reading in Wiki APEX and I found this line mentioned as cons: "Page-embedded Javascript and uploaded images are not cached".
The question that I have posted many questions here how to enable the cache for Images and Javascripts but didn't get it right, is the wiki info right about the cache for images and JS?

the only drawback with #WORKSPACE_IMAGES# and #APP_IMAGES# is that it doesn't get cached by the browser. So each page request will transmit the hole file again. A caching option for the "Static Files" in the Shared Components would be nice :-)
About lazy loading with the #WORKSPACE_IMAGES#. I could think about a mod_rewrite rule which translates the additional file request of the JS library into a valid request for APEX.

Problem with pages name in dashboard Oracle BIEE 11g

I use Oracle BIEE 11.1.1.3.0
I have dashboard 'CBR_CTLOG'. Dashboard has two pages 'Протокол контроля' and 'Протокол контроля детализированный'.
Both pages have dashboards prompt with active "Apply to all prompt pages"
When I go from 'Протокол контроля' to 'Протокол контроля детализированный', I get error:
Invalid path (/shared/CBR/_portal/CBR_CTLOG/РџСЂРѕС‚РѕРєРѕР» РєРѕРЅС‚СЂРѕР»СЏ РґРµС‚Р°Р»РёР·РёСЂРѕРІР°РЅРЅС‹Р№) -- path not found in dashboard
But when pages have English name "Test" and "Test2", I don't get this error.
I think, it's connected with that I don't use English languages for pages name, and BI EE don't make link for crossing.
How can I solve this problem, because I can't use English names for pages.

Problem with table name lengths.

Has anyone experienced with table name length problem?
When tables are created with schema registration, and the name is longer than 14 characters, the table is created. But when I "select * from xxxx_xxxx_xxxx_xxxx" it says that the table doesn't exist.
What's the max length of a table name? Or is this a problem with XDB?

Found the problem.
All table names must be all capitalized and seperated with underscore.
Is there something I need to set in oracle? or is this a bug? The tables are created but can't be accessed because of the case of table name... that doesn't make sense.

Two problems: hiding key-switch notes and messages to effect-plugins

first please apologize my bad (school-) English, which I haven‘t much practiced sind I left school more than 30 yeras ago.
I have got two problems, and I should be grateful, if somebody could give me a hint.
1. I am using sample libraries, which I load in a sampler (Kontakt 2 of Native Instruments) in the instrument slot of Logic. These libraries work with key switches to choose between various articulations of an instrument. Unfortunately these key switching notes appear in the outprints (although the note, good so, does not sound – and isn‘t intended to sound).
Do you know a possibility to set a key switch and let the note hide in the outprint?
(I have also sent a fearture request to apple: creating an additional note line to an instrument, reserved for key switching commands.)
2. I am using Guitar Rig 2 as an effect-plugin in Logic. Guitar Rig is (regarding my puspose) organised in banks which contain various presets (settings of amplifiers, boxes, micros, effects and so on).
Is there in Logic a possibilities to send to effect-plugins commands which choose firstly a bank and secondly a preset in a bank of an effect-plugin in effect-slot?

One method:
Let's say you have a flute sound from Kontakt 2...
1. Create a duplicate track for the Kontakt flute instrument in the Arrange window, just below the original track
2. Open your flute region in score or matrix, select the keyswitch notes and CUT them. Then exit the editor
3. Click on the duplicate track in the Arrange window and then use "paste at original position", (not regular CMD-V paste). Now your keyswitch notes are placed on the duplicate track in the exact location they were originally recorded at.
(Note: if this doesn't seem to paste anything (sometimes it happens), hit Undo. Then use the pencil tool to draw a blank region on your duplicate track. With that new region selected, use "paste at original position again" and it will work.)
4. With the new region selected, choose Options > Extended Parameters... a floating window will appear. Look for "Score:" at the bottom of the window. Click to the right of "Score:" so that it now says "Score: Off" for that region. This function works per region. Your keyswitches will still play but they won't be shown in the score. You can even hide this track if you want.
5. Repeat this process for all of your tracks with keyswitch notes in them.

Page "Name" Length

Is there a limit to the number of characters that can be used for the "Name" field? Specifically for a Page.
I created a page named "Career_Opportunities" and I get a "document not found" error when opening files added to this page. However, when I change the "Name" field to be "Career_Opps", the files open just fine.
I would like to know the exact limit to convey to our content owners/developers.
I searched documentation without any success. Is there a document that states these types of value definitions?

After further testing, it seems that "Career_Opportunities" is reserved to the system. I tried not using the word "opportunities" and made the name even longer and my docs opened successfully. I tried "Job_Opportunities" with success as well...I even tried careeropportunities (no underscore) with success.
Given this, is there any documentation of known "reserved" words, names, etc....that cannot be used?

Printers having problems printing PAGES 8 - HP and Cannon

I am trying to print a tri-fold church bulletin using the duplex option. My HP (7410 All in one) cuts off a half inch of the trailing edge on both sides. So I decided to use my Cannon (iP6700D)- the same document has been spooling for 20 minutes. Is Pages 8 a finished product - it looks great on the screen. Both printers are wireless. I never had a problem with version 6 that I remember. Any help is appreciated.

the trailing edge problem is inherent to the printer and the driver. If you have a borderless option for your printer, try using that.
As for the Canon problem, again that is going to be a printer driver issue.
My suggestion would be to save the file as a PDF and then try printing the PDF. This removes Pages from the equation for testing purposes.
(If these problems never showed up in iWork '06, then it may have been a global variable you had set in that program or driver. Once you set the printer you can view the layout and see how the unprintable areas will work. Avoid anything that is in the grey border and your printout should be fine.

I have two problems. One with LTE and another with iCloud terms and conditions.

I haven't had some of the bigger problems with the 6 as some. But I am having two issues that are getting annoying. One is a pop up every 5-10 minutes that says I cannot use icloud without accepting terms and conditions. However it won't let me accept any. The other is lte is not working on my phone, but is fine with my husbands. Any ideas? Thanks!

My second problem is that I want to be able to close the entire program if the user exits out of either dialog without performing an action (clicking on the X button). Two problems : areaChart along with Line and double y-axis in LineChart

This forum is very useful as we are getting lots of help from people who are trying out this new technology and giving/using help to/from others.I am developing a real time application in JavaFx in which I need to implement Charts using dynamic data coming from a server.
Now I am facing two types of problem which may be interrelated in some way.
Problem 1 :
I need to combine an areachart along with a line Chart.There is nothing in JavaFx like area-line Chart so should i go with all area charts and make the fill-color of area series transparent(is it possible to have transparent fill in area-chart ? by css ?) OR i should stack two charts one area and one line on top of one another making the background of either transparent(once again is it possible to have transparent background for a chart so that background chart/series is visible ?) OR any other suggestion ? Anyways I tried stacking using stackPane and it turned out to be ugly combination of misaligned charts :-(
Problem 2 :
I need to put two y-axis(i.e secondary axis) on the same chart but i am unable to find such feature with my best efforts.I know I can set the side of Axis using setSide method of Axis class but how can i put it both side simultaneously.Also is there a way to put different scales on these axis ? I mean is it possible to have two different series with drastic difference in bounds(data range) to be put on same chart by attaching them to different Y-axis on the same chart ?

I don't think there is anything in the JavaFX library which matches exactly what you need.
You might be able to use some tips from the 3d pie chart I created at: https://gist.github.com/1485144. This demonstrates stacking multiple charts on top of each other, whilst removing rendundant details so it doesn't end up a jumbled mess and looking up items by their css tags and modifying them.
There is now excellent documentation on chart css at http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/charts/css-styles.htm#CIHGIAGE. If this doesn't get you all of the css hooks you need to dig out the details required from the chart, then you can unpack jfxrt.jar and search for caspian.css or you can recursively print the nodes in the chart which will tell you the type and style of each node. Armed with this information you could should then be able to stack the two charts you created on top of each other, align them correctly and strip away the info you don't need. To get the second y axis to the other side of the chart you could look it up by css in code, then do a translateX on it to so that it is translated by a bind to the width of the x axis. Seems doable, if a little fiddly.
You might be tempted to directly create an Axis yourself by creating an instance of http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/api/javafx/scene/chart/NumberAxis.html and laying it over your chart, but I was unable to get that to work (http://javafx-jira.kenai.com/browse/RT-18270) - even if you did so, you would have to manually set up the ranges and ticks as the chart library wouldn't handle that for you. Another way to create a Axis like thing is by creating a http://docs.oracle.com/javafx/2.0/api/javafx/scene/control/Slider.html, disabling user input on it and removing it's thumb via css.
My efforts at answering chart questions in the past sometimes ended up as "That's not what I need": Re: How to create PieChart like this?
Questions about charts are hard to answer without a link to an exact image of what the required chart is expected to look like.

Problems with File Names, Placing, and Tracing Options in Actions

I am trying to make an action that would place .psd files that are in a folder into Illustrator, trace using a custom option, (possibly expand),scale, and save. I would like the title to be the same as the psd file but ending in .ai instead of .psd.
First problem is how to to name the .ai file.
How can I make the action base the name of initial and final .ai file upon each individual psd file? In other words, testname.psd would become testname.ai
Second problem is that as I make the action I seem to have to choose a file not a folder in order to proceed. This means that the action will only work for that .psd file.
How can I choose a folder to place instead of simply a file?
Third problem is that I have a custom preset tracing option that I use. Although I recorded this option as I made the action, in each batching cycle the dialog box for tracing opens and I must manually choose and confirm my tracing option.
How do I record a tracing option that will automatically activate as part of an action?

You don't. You need to save it as a LiveTrace settings preset. Only named presets can be properly referenced in actions and then you would bypass the panel. As for the rest - file actions should be overridden with the respective settings on the batch panel, where you simply pick the folders for in and out, not specific files. You don't place them, you simply open them. By placing them, you merely add an unnecessary step that has no practical relevance whatsoever in this case.

Two problem issue

Root problem: When in Itunes I'm unable to update ipod (through file - update Ipod)to put new songs or videos that are usable in Itunes onto my Ipod. upgraded to version 1.1
After attempting to fix through other suggestions on this board I attempted to Update the IPOD. Regardless of which updater I'm trying to use, I keep getting the message " connect ipod or no ipod detected. In Itunes under Edit -"preferences" -Ipod tab it also says "no Ipod found"

I have tried it using the following code but its not running on eclipse I have no idea what "not running" means, but I'm assuming you are having trouble reading the image files.
Read the section from the Swing tutorial on [How to Use Icons|http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/TOC.html] for the proper way to read images so that is works in all environments.

Problems duplicating pages in CS5

Hi,
I'm having big problems with certain basic operations involving copying pages. Here's the first problem: I'm unable to duplicate a page by dragging and dropping. The manual says that to duplicate a page, you merely hold down Alt, click the page icon or page number, then drag and drop. When I do this, all that happens is that it moves the page rather than copying it. I can, however, use this method to duplicate two or more pages. But that creates a mess and wastes time. Anyone else have trouble doing this?
The second problem occurs when I use the Duplicate page command. I can indeed duplicate a single page by selecting the page icon, right clicking and choosing Duplicate Page. I can do the same with multiple pages. The problem is that it corrupts the positioning of the layout by shifting everything left or right by a half inch or so. This occurs when the duplicated page is added to the end of the document. As I duplicate pages through successive generations, these shifts accumulate over time. It seems like a code bug where it's trying to shift the page left or right to properly position the gutter yet it misidentifies an even page as odd or vice versa and shifts in the wrong direction.
A partial work-around is that I can successfully duplicate two or more pages by dragging and dropping (instead of the Duplicate command). As long as I don't move them to the end of the document, it's OK. The problem is this won't work for single pages because dragging/dropping won't copy single pages (as I mentioned above). So I still can't just simply duplicate a page when I need to. Argh.
Comments anyone? Am I doing something wrong or does ID have serious shortcomings involving page duplication?
I'm running XP Pro SP3 on a 3.4 GHz P4, 4GB, Intel chipset, NVidia GeForce 6600. I ran the latest Adobe update to ID CS5 7.0.3.

Thanks for the responses, folks, I do appreciate it. It definitely looks like a bug to me.
Here's an example. I create a new document. I hold down Alt, click on the page, drag and drop. It copies it OK. I now have two separate pages, neither one of them is a spread. I alt-drag-drop one of them again, this creates a third page, now part of a 2-page spread. At that point, the code starts to fail. I can continue successfully copying page one, but none of the other pages. For example, I can try either of the two pages in the spread and all that happens is they move - not copy. I can select a pair of pages, or 4, 5, 6 or any other number, drag and drop to copy them. This only works around half the time. For example, I select four pages, alt-drag-drop and all that happens is they move and I'm left with two pages selected (instead of four), now in a different location. I can repeat this experiement again and again selecting, alt-dragging and dropping. I may do 5 or 10 in a row which only MOVE, not COPY. I may then get lucky and get a string of them that do copy successfully. Or sometimes it alternates randomly.
It doesn't matter if I use the Alt method or drag the pages to the icon at the bottom of the pages window. Same statistical results. In no case will the software ever copy (drag) a single page which is part of spread. And once again, if I select one page from a spread and say "Duplicate page", it typically puts the dupe at the end of the sequence with the content shifted left or right some random distance, corrupting it.
I tried upgrading to 7.0.3, I tried trashing my prefs, I've tried many things. I'm not crazy nor do I need a book, but thanks for the suggestion. Perhaps I'll pick one up down the road. I confess I'm not a graphic artist and I'm only in my first month working with InDesign. But I recently worked a decade at a leading (rival) multimedia editing software manufacturer after 22 years in the biz and I write C code during the day to pay the bills. I know how to test code and I know when something is working inconsitently or not as specified. I may not have all the answers but all I can do is report what I observe and hope someone can solve the mystery. This would help me (and any others with the issue) as I'm doing 250+ page books and could really use a feature where I can copy a page. Not play a silly game of roulette trying to copy spreads or groups of pages. Just one page would be nice. And once again, thanks for the suggestions, I do appreciate it.

Even to ask this question I had to use Internet Explorer, not Mozilla, because the dropdown won't appear on your home page. Ok. The two problems. One, vids won't play, and two, the dropdowns won't appear. Which means I can't sign out of anything! Which is an issue to me - I don't like leaving my accounts open. Can you help? Pleeease? I'm desperate! I've done all I know to do!
