Two roles

Hi experts,
I can configure my portal with two simple roles.
One user have this roles (two).
Normally I can see the two roles after login with this user.
Can I go to portal (with any way) and see only the first role? or the second?
any idea?

Merging two roles

Hi
I have created two roles under each role i have created one folder and under each role. and i have added to pages under each folder.
X Role --> New_Folder ---> Page1,Page2.
Y Role --> New_Folder ---> Page3,Page4.
How to merge with both roles from New_Folder. So that New_Folder contains page1,page2, page3, page4.

I exactly follow the steps which you have specified and the url which you have posted.
I have created new roles X and Y
under each roles i have created a folder with name New_Folder.
under each Folder i have addded two pages
page1,page2 for RoleX-->New_Folder.
page3,Page4 for RoleY-->New_Folder.
i mentioned same merge id sample for both New_Folders.
and I have made entrypoint for Role X as yes.
but when i added the above two roles the user, i can able to get only Role X and the pages related role X.
But i couldn't get pages corresponding to Role Y.
still any properties should i change

I need to know if it's possible have two roles like this:
role A - Object werks = L001 and LIKP-LFART = LF
role B - Object werks = L005 and LIKP-LFART = ZLF
If the some user have role A and role B it's possible that he doesn't have authorization for werks = L005 and LIKP-LFART LF?

I guess you made fat figure on the words: "it's possible that he doesn't have authorization for werks = L005 and LIKP-LFART ZLF", right?
If so, it is impossible.
When SAP doing the authorization check, it call the function "authority_check", input the Object, the filed and the value to check.
if some one have role A and B, SAP will check authority both in Role A and Role B.
What you need to do should be separating the Object into a subrole and assign it separately.

Two roles for ESS

Hi Experts,
I have to create two roles in ESS. One role should have authorization to edit his personal info banck details etc. and other role should not edit any info.

Making a copy of the role is not enough.
You will have to take this approach as I have a similar issue and this is what i did to resove it.
You have two roles but both the references would be to the iviews that reside in the original sap provided folder.
First of all create custom resources with custom pcd url location. Update pcd url from the custom roles and this will solve your problem.
if you dont want to modify the standard entries in resource table then user V_T7XSSSERRESC and make changes.

OIM11g R2 - If two roles (ACF2 and AD) are selected together for a user req

Hi ,
We are facing a problem In the Catalog, if two roles (ACF2 and AD) are selected together for a user and checking it out.The request goes to approval process.We have not created any approval process flow.
Plz let me know how to recover from it and provide an option to provision two roles simulaneously to a user without going into approval process.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a user in OIM .
2. Search that user.Administration->Users->Search User
3. Click on 'Roles' tab and select 'Request Role' under that tab.
4.'Catalog' tab opens .Click on Search icon and Add AD and ACF2 Role to the cart.
5. Click on 'Check out'
6. Click on Submit button
7. Request Summary tab opens with Request status shown as 'Obtaining Request Approval' and Request Type as 'Assign Roles'.
Note: If we assign AD and ACF2 individually to user and running Evaluate User Policies we are able to see account in Provisioned state under Accounts tab of User and request is not going to approval process

As mentioned I created two auto approval policies
1. Request Type= Assign Roles
Level= Request Level
Auto Approval checked
Approval Rule=Requester.UserLogin Equals XELSYSADM
(Created this rule as i am logeed in as XELSYSADM)
2. Request Type= Assign Roles
Level= Operation Level
Auto Approval checked
All Scope Checked
Approval Rule=Request.RequestType Equals Assign Roles
After that i opened the user request role page and requested 2 roles (AD and ACF2).
But now also request went to approval work flow
Please point which step i have missed or any other step need to be performed.

Workset repeate when I asigned two roles

Hola
I have a problema I have been created two roles (Role 1, Role 2)
Role1 will have three tabs:
Nivel 1: Projects Management
Workset: Models
Nivel 1: Portfolio Management
Workset: Portfolio Management, Item Management,Resources Management, Reports and Analitics, Administrator
Nivel 1: Cfolders
Workset:Standares
Role2 will have one tab
Nivel 1: Portfolio Management
Workset: Item Management
When I assigned one rol to user, it's working fine, my problem is when these roles are in only one user in the portfolio Management in this case there are twice the workset Item management.
Is possible when one user has both roles , the workset doen't repeat???????
Any suggestion for this

Hola Danny,
Como estas...You can use the merge id concept here when you are assigning more than 1 role to the user. I guess it is the item management workset which is repeating. Open the workset(/worksets) in the property editor and assign a merge id say 'itemmanagement'(without the quotes) and the two worksets would merge. If the common items within the workset are now showing more than once then use the merge id concepts for those portal objects too. So if the objects are common and shouldnt appear more than once , then by using the merging they would merge and show up as only 1 object.

Dimension security is not working if user have two roles in SSAS while connecting from Excel

Hello Genius,
I am facing the issue when user trying to connect the cube from excel if user have more than one role in ssas db.
Role 1: Countryuser, I have implemented the dimension security with country
dimension and countrycode attribute.
Role 2: CityUser, I have implemented the dimension security with
city dimension and citycode attribute.
If user is mapped to any one of above role dimension security is working perfectly according to the logic but mapped to both role, cube is exposing all the data in this case dimension security is not working.
Please give me the solution to fix this issue or incase I am wrong kindly advice.

This is the expected behaviour as allowed sets in roles are unioned together.
This is not a problem when your roles are restricting across a single attribute.
eg.
US_role = {[Geography].[Country].[USA]
France_role = {[Geography].[Country].[France] }
as someone in both roles ends up seeing {[Geography].[Country].[USA], [Geography].[Country].[France] }
But when you have different attributes:
NY_role = {[Geography].[City].[New York] }
France_role = {[Geography].[Country].[France] }
The first role is unrestricted on countries and the second is unrestriced on cities which is effectively:
NY_role = {[Geography].[Country].AllMembers , [Geography].[City].[New York] }
France_role = {[Geography].[Country].[France], [Geography].[City].AllMembers }
And when you union those two sets together you end up with:
{[Geography].[Country].AllMembers , [Geography].[City].AllMembers }
Which means that someone in both roles can see everything.
So if you want to restrict someone to City = New York and Country = France you have to create a
single role where both attributes are restricted. So if you have a lot of these combinations you will either have to create a lot of "combination" roles or look at dynamic security.
The other thing that might work is make sure that you only give some users access to certain cities and others access to certain countries. It's the mixing of the two for a single person that causes the issues.

Manual Task Two Roles

I have in one of my processes a manual task, which wanted the could see one of the roles in the worklist view but in read-only mode, and other roles in edit mode and you can select the output path of the same task.

I'm not clear on your requirement and use case from the description, but here are my thoughts.
If the use case is one of a user working on the task and another user in another role reviewing the work performed in that task, then I would consider these two separate tasks as they are performing separate functions, and the view of the data (read-only vs read-write, what's displayed, etc.) can be determined for each task's data.
If the use case is that some users are workers for instances of a particular task while other users are not workers but monitoring instances of those tasks, then you could accomplish this by:
-giving role A the Worklist Viewer permission, while giving role B the Search View permission (but not Worklist Viewer permission)
-give role A and role B permission to the task in question
This would allow users in role A to work on those tasks while users in role B can see the tasks but not perform work on them. This would not work if the users in role B are also expected to perform (do work on) other tasks, however, given they would not have the worklist viewer permission.
If neither of the above is what you were looking for, could you please provide more details for your use case?

We have a process of collecting su53 dump and then analyze for missing authorization . However some time although everything works fine in quality , it fails in production . How do I use one filed to perform two roles?

JDeveloper 10.1.3.2, ADF Faces, ADF BC app.
I have a situation where one field needs to supply a database value and a web service parameter. I have the data controls for both. Currently I also have both on the page, with the same data entered in both, and when I do a submit they both do the correct job; the data is commited, and the web service executes and returns the expected values to the next page.
How can I either:
- combine them into the same field
- have one default to the value of the other as soon as focus leaves it

in the binding layer, you reference e.g the value of the attribute binding of the database field by the attribute binding of the WebService field. This way, editing the database field automatically populates the WebService field

When you say that you want to split the SAP Standard role into two roles:
1.Do you mean to say that you want to split the transactions and authorization data of the SAP Standard role into two separate Z* or Y* roles?
2.Do you want to copy the SAP Standard role into two different Z* or Y* roles and then modify the authorization data according to your company's requirements?
In the above two scenarios you must copy the SAP Standard role into Z* or Y* roles in PFCG transaction with the appropriate naming convention and make necessary changes in both the transaction data and the authorization data.
Please be clear which SAP Standard role you are willing to split into roles and i can provide more details.

First iView in the Role only transferred to SAP and next two ignored

I have three iViews in a Role and when I transfer only first view is been transferred to SAP backend (wp3r) whereas the next two iviews are ignored. Is it something I have to change the iview properties ? Any ideas ?
I want to transfer all the three iviews with the role. Could anyone please help.

When I tried changing the order of the iviews, I replaced the first iview with second one and it did
transferred second iview by ignored first (When I converted the role in wp3r i can only see second iview now before it was showing first iview).
Now, I did two roles for two iviews and they are transferred to backend alright.
When I upload the iview to the backend in wp3r i can see the portal role name, system then I have created the role and merged it, all in green lights. Can also view the iview under the authorization role i have created. Portal admin is not involved I'm doing all this stuff.
When you say Alias I hope you are talking about system Alias, which is anyways same for all iviews.

Only two Workbook roles can be seen in NW04s Bex 7.0

A user has access to over five workbook roles but when she opens
Bex 7.0 -
> Bex Analyzer--> Open Workbook-- Roles,
user can only see two workbook roles. I delete these two workbook roles, and user reopens Bex 7.0, user will see the next two workbook roles. Does this mean user can only see two roles at at time in NW04s Bex 7.0? Has anyone come accross similar case?

Synchronize role between two portals

Hello,
we want to synchronize up to two roles including content from one portal to antother portal autmaticly.
Have someone a solution or an workaround to implent this?
The role an content will be modified only in one portal.
Both Portals are NW04 SP13.

Hi Christian,
First of all, Federated Portal Network (FPN) is not available in NW04.
Secondly, it would not help you to synchronize between roles, but only to share content between servers.
If you want to combine 2 roles, you can use the merge id property on them and then their children will be presented under one root role.
But if you want to also revise the content and structure of those roles, you should do it manually.
