Two Servers in one network

I have already had Server 2008 v2 with AD in the network with 18 workstations, and I would like to add one more Server 2008 v2 in the same network.  I have too much network programs for one server can handle, so I am trying to add the new server to
share the programs.
There are 10 network programs to run in the network, and Sever A is needed to run 6 programs and Server B (new one) is needed to run 4 programs. Yet, all 18 workstations have to able to access all programs to Server A & B.
How do I do it? Any help will be appreciate.

You need to check the requirements for your programs to make them available.
For the new DC you are planning to add, simply promote it as an additional DC and make it a DNS and GC server.

  • Can I have two Domain in one network?

    I have two Server in my office in same network.
    Server A is Active Directory / Domain Server. Certain user join domain and connect to this server.
    Server B is File Server. The other user just use Workgroup. But now this server want to Up Domain to be Domain Server.
    But user that connect to the domain Server A will not connect to domain server B and user connect to domain server B will not connect to domain server A.
    Is there any problem if I setup two domain in one network?
    Please Advise.

    Domains are logical structure of your network. Yes you can create two domains in the same network. One thing you should consider in this scenario is trusts between your domains. By default separate domains have not any trusts between each other and you should
    establish trust manually if you would like to have users in A authenticated in domain B.

  • Combine two servers to one

    Hello,
    We have the system 11.5.7:
    AppsTier on one server and the DBTier, concurrent managers and the admin on another server. There is no the load balance for the AppsTier. The load balance requests more than one server. So we are on the Single Node architecture and Not the Multinode architecture, though there are two servers (one for AppsTier and one for DBTier and etc) in the system.
    The system has been in production about 3 years. There has never been over loaded due to the user sessions in the system. I believe we should combine the system 11.5.7 on the two servers to one server. We have the server can handle the load with significant free margin in terms of the server resources, and the performance will be improved by eliminating the latencies between the servers in the current system. Another major benefit is that the simplification for the maintenance and the upgrade.
    I need to convince the management for consolidating the two servers to one server as described. Do you agree the proposed one server system is better than two servers for our system?
    Thanks In Advance.
    Sean

    i know it will easier to manager one node rathter than multi-node but my point of view is that you will have a complete server to server your (froms and web) and another complete server for your database and concurrent manager.
    maybe you and other users have different resones and i am intersted to know is it just becase the management of one server will be easier or are there other resons.
    one qustions please is your single server more prowerfull than the other 2 servers or not?

  • Possible or Not: Two Time Capsules One Network

    Hey all,
    In brief, I am wondering if it is possible to join 2x Time Capsules over the wifi network in order to extend the range of the wifi signal?
    In depth, down stairs in the house we have an adsl router which is connected to time capsule no.1 via a CAT5 cable. The problem is that upstairs there is a number of "wifi dead spots"
    My proposal is to install a 2nd Time Capsule upstairs and connect it to TC no.1 using the wifi signal. Then connect office computers via Ethernet and use TC no.2 to extend the wifi signals into the wifi dead spots.
    I've read mixed reviews on if this is possible or not but your views are much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

    Hey Mate
    TC 1 is your main time capsule and is connected to your modem via a CAT5 cable. It is set to "Create a wireless network" as it should be already.
    TC 2 (your new TC or AE) is then set to "Extend a wireless network" it then connects to TC 1 over the wireless and:
    (A) extends your existing wireless network on G and N if you get a dual band one.
    (B) gives you a couple of extra usable ethernet ports.
    The only problem I've noticed is when playing games either physically wired to TC2 or wirelessly connected to TC2 is an increased ping/latency.
    However I highly recommend the setup and it works wonders for extending range, or setting up a remote LAN which you wish to have wired computers (connected over ethernet for fast transfer speeds) but also have to have access to the internet.
    Hope this helps mate any more questions let me know.
    Cheers

  • Two servers, one RAID

    RAID newb here. I've searched this forum and found some hints to the answer, but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway, just to be sure.
    I have a Promise RAID, only the top enclosure is full. I believe only one controller accesses that top enclosure.
    I have two servers. I know only one can access the controller at a time, but if I have two partitions, can each one access its own partition without affecting the other? If so, how do I go about setting that up?
    Added bonus: One server is Leopard, the other is Snow Leopard.
    It's not a total dealbreaker if this can't be done, I just want to make sure it can't be done before I plan my next step.
    Thanks!
    Michelle

    There are only two ports in the controller - if you're okay with only accessing the Promise from one connection each you can plug one server into one port and the other into the other.
    NOTE: You CANNOT access the same data from two servers at one time. You can't even have the same data mounted on both server simultaneously without risking data corruption.
    What you want to look into is LUN masking. You can use LUN masking to determine which unit (based on port) can see what data at any given time. The concept and set-up of this actually relatively easy on the Promise box look through the documentation and it should answer your questions.
    What I can't answer for you is whether your current partition scheme is compatible with the LUN masking set-up. I've only set-up Promise boxes from scratch for LUN masking never retroactively against a standing set-up of existing partitions. Sorry for the partial answer but hopefully someone who's done what you're trying to do can address it directly. Worst case scenario involves backing the data off the partitions, reformatting the Promise into LUN maskable volumes and putting the data back onto it.
    Good luck,

  • Server Load Balance in one network using CSM Cat6509

    I have 2 Web Servers with real IP address 10.1.12.61 and 10.1.12.62 (subnet mask 255.255.255.0). The virtual IP address configured on CSM is 10.1.12.100
    I also have 2 Application Servers with real IP address 10.1.12.81 and 10.1.12.82 (subnet mask 255.255.255.0). The virtual IP address is 10.1.12.120.
    Users will access Web server using the virtual IP address (10.1.12.100) so that the traffic will be load balanced.
    But there is also requirement that those Web Servers access Application Servers using IP address 10.1.12.120 so that the traffic will be load balanced as well.
    Is this requirement feasible?
    Can CSM load balance between servers in one network address?

    Budiman,
    I am building the same situatiuon here. But the most simple part seems not to be working. I have two webservers in the same subnet as my VIP.
    The clients can be everywhere in every subnet.
    This is what happens:
    btpebgw70#sh mod contentSwitchingModule 9 conns
    prot vlan source destination state
    In TCP 401 192.6.53.42:1901 151.183.58.196:80 ESTAB
    Out TCP 401 151.183.58.196:80 192.6.53.42:1901 ESTAB
    ok this is good but:
    btpebgw70#sh mod contentSwitchingModule 9 reals detail
    151.183.58.201, ORBIS, state = OPERATIONAL
    conns = 0, maxconns = 4294967295, minconns = 0
    weight = 8, weight(admin) = 8, metric = 0, remainder = 0
    total conns established = 58, total conn failures = 58
    the failures have the same value as the established. Can you send me your config part of the csm because I am getting tired of this. Please email to [email protected]
    Thanks in advance!

  • Is their any easy way to replicate DRM application between two servers?

    Hi Guys
    I have a Test and Dev environment I need to synchronize these two servers. One option is to export all the Properties, Version, etc one by one and then import it to required test or dev environment. This is little time consuming method.
    I am looking for something like replicating (Copying) the entire application from DEV to test in one single go. Is their any option available in DRM.
    Thanks & Regards
    -Ramesh Janarthanan

    its as simple as Martin says.
    but keep a look at username/password of db user/db (server) name. Its very easy to configure in the drm console.
    Good luck.

  • Installing oracle10g on two servers with same databae

    Dear DBAs
    I have two servers and one SCSI SATA box as storage device which i have configured in RAID5 format. Servers are connected to channel 0 and 1 of the SATA box respectively.My OS is RHEL ES-4
    I want to install Oracle10g on these two machines with SATA box as the Databse Storage medium. I donot want to use RAC as my clients donot have DBA. The servers has to be configured in a failsafe method.

    hi gert
    the SATA SCSI box is LSI Logic Megaraid sas 8408E. My aim is to have a backup server which needs to be switched on once the main server fails. I can afford for a little bit data loss. Only thing is the backup server should use the data files of the crashed server.

    You cannot run two servers on exactly the same socket. Are you aware of this?
    At least the port number has to be different.
    // Server 1:
    try {
        serverSocket = new ServerSocket(4444);
    } catch (IOException e) {
        System.out.println("Could not listen on port: 4444");
        System.exit(-1);
    Socket clientSocket = null;
    try {
        clientSocket = serverSocket.accept();
    } catch (IOException e) {
        System.out.println("Accept failed: 4444");
        System.exit(-1);
    // now the connection is established
    // do the same for the other server, but for another port
    // The client has to explicitly call each Server, to establish each connection.

  • Two Message Servers in one System

    Dear all.
    I learned from http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/84/54953fc405330ee10000000a114084/content.htm that one SAP system has one central instance which contains one message server. But our system seems to have two message servers.
    Our system ID is "ABC". When I open the SAP Management Console, there are three children nodes under our system: One blue database icon named "ABC" and two green icons named "ABC 14" and "ABC 31". Under "ABC 14", there are nodes "ABAP WP Table" and "J2EE Processes Table". In addition, there's a "Process List" node here. The processes include "msg_server.exe", "disp+work.exe", and "igswd.exe". Under "ABC 31", there's no "ABAP WP Table" or"J2EE Processes Table". There's only one node "Process List". It contains "msg_server.exe" and "enserver.exe".
    My questions are:
    1. What are "ABC 14" and "ABC 31"?
    2. Does "ABC 14" contains at least two instances? One is for Java and another is for ABAP?
    3. What's the role of "ABC 31"? It seems to only contain enque server and message server.
    4. Why are there two message servers in a single system "ABC"? One is under "ABC 14" and another is under "ABC 31".
    Thanks + Best Regards
    Jerome

    Hi Sunil,
    Thanks a lot for the clarification. Just have a little bit confusion left.
    1. Since there're two message servers, may I say that there are two central instances? Or these message servers belong to a single central instance?
    2. There's no "enserver.exe" in ABAP instance. So is the "enserver.exe" in the JAVA instance also responsible for the ABAP enque and deque operations?
    Thanks + Best Regards

  • Two licence servers in one environment

    Hi,
    Is it possible to install two licence servers in one environment and point some of the users to one licence server and others to another. Is there where i can change on the local PC to point to a licence server.
    My assumption is that it is stored centrally as i tried to change it on one user PC and all were changed to the same server. Is my assumption correct or how can this be achieved.
    Thank you in advance and your help is appreciated.

    Hi,
    The SAP Business One workstations read the name of the license service to which they connect from the SLIC table in the SBO-Common database. All Company databases sharing an SBO-Common database use the same license file. In addition, several SBO-Common databases can direct to the same license service.

    I have two networks one each in two cities.  Both are named the same but require different passwords. I am at my second location and cannot connect to this wifi network. How do I delet one network so I can connect to my second network?

    Just go to the wireless network preferences and empty out all the stored wireless networks.. then scan and connect to the local wireless.
    Select them and tap the - button below it.
    Once they are emptied out.. it might be good to reboot the computer with the remember networks unchecked.
    Start with a clean slate.

  • One Report, Two Servers, Debugging

    I have a report that uses multi-select parameters.
    It is deployed on two SSRS 2008 R2 Report Servers.
    It will run on one but not other.
    Are there any kinds of SSRS 2008 R2 debugging tools to find out what is the difference between the two servers?
    It may be an ODBC driver but I am not sure.
    Thank you.

    First we need to identify what is generating the error on the one server. This error occurs when you pass too much for a given data type. For instance, on one server an int parameter value that is generated from a SQL query might result in a bigint value
    that overflows the int data type. Or a string passed to a char(10) might exceed 10 characters while it does not on the other server.
    What is the query text where these 2 parameters are used?
    If you remove these parameters from the data set filter, will the report run without the error?
    If so, what are the values for these 2 parameters? (add 2 text boxes to the report to display the parameter values using Join(Parameters!Parameter1.Value,"; "))
    Then we need to determine why it is not happening on the other.
    Why is it deployed to 2 servers? Is it connecting to different data sources?
    What is the difference between the two servers where it is deployed.
