Two Sites?

Is it possible to create two website to two different domains using iWeb? Everytime I create two new sites and save to file, all the files go in the same place. I really want to publish two distinct sites to two different files. Is this possible? Thanks.

Let's differentiate between publishing to .mac and publishing to a folder.
When you publish to .Mac, iWeb wants to publish to all of the sites in it's site management pane. I do find this to be a limitation to be worked around. Lucky for me, I don't really publish to .Mac.
When you publish to a folder, iWeb will also publish both sites to the same folder. Luckilly, you can simply choose to not to upload it (via FTP for example), or you can discard the unwanted site entirely, before you upload it. Neither of these options are especially complicated.
Do I wish you could open and save individual projects? Absolutely. But that wasn't the question. The question was, "Is there a way...?" and the answer is , "Yes, but..." For everything else, the best way to make sure something gets fixed is to contact them. In iWeb, go to the menubar at the top of the screen and go to iWeb>Provide iWeb Feedback

  • Using iWeb to publish to two sites separately

Here's my situation: I purchased a Family Pack .mac so I get 5 sites. I will use one for my own use, my wife will use one, and my son will use one.
We would like to use one of the two remaining accounts primarily to put up a website for a friend of ours who is working as a missionary in Africa.
So on my wife's computer, we want to use iWeb to build two sites, publish one in one .mac account and publish the other in another .mac account.
So far iWeb keeps publishing them in the same account.
    Any ideas?

The easiest thing for you to do would be to create a separate account on your wife's computer for this additional .Mac account that you wish to publish to. You can add this System account under System Preferences>Accounts. Then log into this account and add the additional .Mac information into the System Preferences there. Launch iWeb and create your page. When you publish, it will be published using the extra .Mac account.
This way...no juggling of Domain files. No switching back and forth of .Mac account information. Just log into the separate account to edit and publish this separate website on this .Mac account. Then your wife can log back into her own account to edit her own websites. Easy.

  • Want to have two sites on .Mac made with iWeb

I have two folders on my iDisk in the Sites folder with different names. How do I get two different URL's for each website.
So with two folders each titled different can I use the folder names like
    http://web.mac.com/foldername/welcome.html
    http://web.mac.com/foldername-1/welcome.html
Just got iWeb the other day, I've been using DreamWeaver so I'm new to this simplicity. I'm used to working on Linux webserver too. My old URLs used to be www.name.com/index.html and so forth now this .mac subdomain is tricking me out
    Any help is appreciated.

I think everyone will want to know how to do this. I am intested in working on more than two sites and publishing them not on a .Mac account.
What I have begun to do as a work-around is to label the sites by the domain name (xyz.com and abc.com) and then publish them to a separate iweb folder.
Of course the gotcha is that when you publish to an external folder you need to set the url - so each time you publish to a folder you need to set the url correctly for the domain you are working on.
Once published to the iweb folder you then upload the indvidiual files for the particular domain and you are set.
Too bad you can't work on mulitple sites, just highlight the site you want to publish to a folder and then have only that site published.
This is how I expected it to work.
    hope this helps,
    Dan

  • How to know whether a row is upto date in two site ?

    Hi all,
My application need to check whether a record is same in two sites. I need to do this using a SQL query or a stored procedure. I saw the DBMS_RECTIFIER_DIFF package but it seems that it won't tell that whether that row is upto date.

    Hi,
If you want to check you can just go to the website

  • Join two sites together

Hi, i have two dynamic websites each connecting to two
separate databases via separate connections. I have tried merging
the two sites into one, but i get a problem because the database
connection for one of the sites dont work after i join them. Can
anyone please tell me the best way to join two dynamic sites
together, so that both their databases work.
    thank you

the best way to do it is to create a DSN connection but you
    have to make
sure that they are on the same server
if both the websites are on the same server that it can be
    easily done using
    DSN connection

  • Two sites, two Macs?

I know you can't edit the same site on two different Macs without a lot of fuss, but is it possible to have two sites on two different Macs both uploading to the same .Mac account? Or will they delete each other when uploading?

I know you can't edit the same site on two different
Macs without a lot of fuss, but is it possible to

to the same .Mac account? Or will they delete each
    other when uploading?
Yes. They will not delete each other as long as they have different site names. However, the last one uploaded will normally get the short url -- web.mac.com/username. The other one will require web.mac.com/username/iWeb/sitename

  • Two sites one problem

    Hi all,
I have two sites I have published using a domain name I purchased. Site is hosted by mobileme. My first site is my companies website. The second site I created is for a client both get published to mobileme. The problem I am having now is that when you type my companies name www.trainbetterllc.com instead of being directed to the business site you get sent to the site I set up for my client which is password protected. I can no longer tell people to go to www.trainbetterllc.com because they will be taken to this password protected site. Instead I now must direct people to www.trainbetterllc.com/trainbetter_llc/train_betterllc/html. Is there a solution to this so I don't have to give the long drawn out address?

Thank you it appears your solution has worked. One thing I forgot to mention in my earlier post is that I use an app called iwebsites to switch between editing the two websites; initially I was concerned that this might be responsible, but after going back into iweb and going to my main business website and clicking publish all it appears that just typing in www.trainbetterllc.com directs me to the correct website. Thanks again for sharing you knowledge.

  • Two "Sites" folders -- Weird URL problem

I use domain names for most of my iWeb sites. Suddenly all sites have been assigned the same domain name when I publish -- www.insidetuscany.org. I've "disconnected" the domain on my Namesecure site, but it is still getting assigned. Because of this I can't even see the new sites I create or create a feed URL.
One possible source of trouble is my iDisk. Publishing has created two "Sites." One of the Sites folders contains pages published by Aperture. The iWeb sites use these pages. The other "Sites" folder include the iWeb sites that use the Aperture files. Here are the paths:
..../iDisk/Sites -- This is the Aperture path for the Aperture pages used in the iWeb sites.
..../iDisk/Web/Sites -- This is the iWeb path for the iWeb sites.
This is driving me nuts. I've tried republishing everything, but still no solution.
    Thanks

I don't know what the original URL looks like.
The url for iweb 08 sites is always like this:
    http://web.mac.com/username/sitename/pagename.html
    I've tried
    http://web.mac.com/scottgrabinger/iweb/sites/InsideTuscany
    http://web.mac.com/scottgrabinger/iweb/sites/InsideTuscany/Inside%20Tuscany.html
.Mac urls never have "iweb/sites" in the middle. You can see that none of your other urls are structured that way. The thing to try would be
    http://web.mac.com/scottgrabinger/InsideTuscany
    which works fine for me.
I also get the "announcement" box that says "published to www.insidetuscany.org"
Just ignore the announcement box, it is not telling you anything that is relevant here.

  • Using two sites - setting one up with separate domain?

If I have two sites created in iWeb can I set up only one of the sites under a purchased domain name or are both sites linked to the domain name? Not sure if that even makes sense...
I have set up a site for a home business (web.me.com/[username]) and want to create another unrelated site for another purpose. I want to be able to use another domain name (www.[sitename].com) for the second site I want to create using iWeb.
Please help... I'm new with all of this! : )

    Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Using Domain Names with Multiple Sites in One MobileMe Account
There can be only one site using CNAME forwarding in a MMe Account. It must be the site that's at the top of the list of sites in iWeb.
The other sites must use URL forwarding where the domain name is pointed at http://web.me.com/YourMMe_Account_Name/SiteName. You will see your full MMe URL but the domain name will get you there.
If you use domain name masking all you will see in the URL window of every page is http://www.yourdomainname.com. The downside to this is that visitors can only bookmark the entry/first page of the site and can only enter the site at that page. This may or may not be a problem for your site.
However, what's in the URL field is not really that important because the short domain name will get visitors to your site. After that they can bookmark the page they are interested in and don't have to memorize its longer URL.
If you use separate domain files for each account then you cannot use CNAME forwarding because it will point to the last published site and that may not be one you want.

  • Exchange High availability between two sites with two servers

    Hi Team,
I have a requirement to deploy exchange server 2010 between two sites. but i have limited resources to full fill this. below the summary.
    2 servers in two sites
different subnets will user for two sites
    Need to deploy DAG.
please let me know the considerations for this deployment.
    Thank you

Hi - In this scenario, you would setup the following: Site 1: Exchange 2010 Multi-Role server File Share location to place File Share Witness for the DAG Site 2: Exchange 2010 Multi-Role server The above will give you 2 nodes in the primary location and
one node in the secondary location so that resources will stay in Site one. You will also need to enable DAC (Datacenter Activation Coordination) on the DAG so that the Cluster group can be managed by Exchange. Last but not least, you will want to restrict
automatic failover of resources to Site 2 by blocking that action on the Exchange server in Site 2 using 'Set-MailboxServer <servername> -DatabaseCopyAutoActivationPolicy Blocked' This will make you manually failover to site 2 and not end up with resources
there after a sudden failure or issue that is not impacting the entire site.Jason Apt Microsoft Certified Master | Exchange 2010

  • Having two site on iweb?

Is it possible to run and publish two sites on one iweb account? I have a laptop and a tower both with iweb and have two different sites on both computers. I was wondering if I can merge the two sites on to one computer with out disrupting either iweb and still be able to publish to two differnt .mac accounts. Is this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated!

    martinic283:
Yes, you can publish to multiple dotMac accounts. You just need to set your account up on your Mac before publishing in the .Mac Preference pane and log on.
As far as the two different sites, you can do that but you'll have to rename one of the Domain.sites files t o something else and then use iWebSites to manage the two. There's no way to merge the two sites into one file. But iWebSites makes it so very easy to have multiple sites in separate files and move between them. It's like iPhoto Library Manager for iWeb. I have a number of individual sites that I manage with it.
    Do you Twango?

  • Consolidate two sites from two machines

I have two sites under the same .Mac account. They were set up using iWeb on two different machines. Is there a way to consolidate the two sites on to one machine?
    Thanks,
    Ken

I don't you can do that. Each of your machine has its own '~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/Domain.sites'
You may keep both of them on one machine, and use 'Domains Juggler' to work on one at a time.
You can find 'Domains Juggler' here

  • Two Sites - 1 with .mac and one with another hosted provider

    Hi All,
I have two sites in iWEB08, the second of which I want to publish to a folder. When I choose this option, it publishes both to a folder. Is there a way just to do the site I want?
    Thanks
    Rich

    Hi,
as far as I know there is no way to publish just one of the two sites to a folder... You will have to publish both of them and then delete one of them and upload the other. I would like a feature to able to publish just one of the sites too (I have five sites and always have to publish them all if I changed one of them... it's a matter of time...)
So please use the link below and ask for this feature to be added to iWeb (if they get a lot of requests they might add it)

  • 2013 Design implementation-two sites

    Hi!
I have a design implementation question. We are a small firm with 80 AD users, 100 mailboxes, DB store is 200 gigs and all on Exchange 2007 (Virtualized connecting to a SAN), but growing rapidly. Also, we currently have two sites in Chicago and New York(Exchange
2007 server in NY). We would like to upgrade from 2007(all roles installed on a VM server ESX 5.5 server) to 2013. Should we virtualized the Exchange 2013 or should they be physical servers? Also, since the servers will be in separate sites will I need a Load
Balancer in both location? Also, should I split up the roles since we have two locations running the both roles on both servers. For example below:
    1 Chicago server-CAS/Mailbox Role
    1 New York server-CAS/Mailbox Role
Should I have the Chicago users connect to the Chicago Server? And the New York users pointed to the New York Server? Currently everyone connects to the mail sever in NY. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Yes, if you need proxy or redirection settings on OWA and other Exchange web services, one CAS in each site is must.
