• Two versions of Premiere two sound cards when capturing

We are television station and we encode shows that are sent to us on a daily basis. All shows that we get we are licensed to show. We are using Adobe Premiere CS4 to capture the videos as they come to us by way of satellite feed. It works well. We can also work on another project with CS4 while capturing. Problem. Sound. While we are capturing, we cannot test the sound because the capture and the time line work space uses the same sound card. Is there a way that we can set up two sound cards and have the time line work space use one while the capture uses another? Or can we use another version of Premiere, (we also have 2.0), and have that one assigned to a separate sound card so we can edit other shows while we are capturing?

Maybe use OnLocation for the capture process, while using Premiere for the other stuff.

• HT1491 i have purchased two new ringtones but they won't appear under Ringtones in Settings/Sounds!

i have purchased two new ringtones but they won't appear under Ringtones in Settings/Sounds! Why?

Did you follow this advice?
If your existing tones are not syncing properly to your iOS device then uncheck the option to Sync Tones from the Tones tab when the device is connected, sync the device, check the option and sync again.
Note that you should confirm that the tones are in the Tones section of your iTunes library and play within iTunes before attempting to sync them. Syncing may also be dependent upon iPhone model and iOS version.

• How do i play two sound file one after another

Hi All,
How do i play two sound file one after another using single AudioClip Component?.
Advance in thanks
Manivel

AudioClip gives you very little control over what happens to the sound, it also isn't capable of playing long clips or waiting until a clip ends. It will play multiple clips over top of each other.
To do what you want you should use the facilities of javax.sound. Here's a post with an example: http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?forumID=513&threadID=450768
There is also a tutorial, but its example fails for long clips.

• Problem in camparing two sound signals

Gud Afternoon All,
I am trying to compare two sound signals in LabVIEW 2013, but facing some problem. My aim is to detect a particular sound say "Clap Sound". I have recorded that sound and added it into LabVIEW. the other signal is generated by using microphone. I am trying to compare both the recorded signal and generated signal, but unable to find any solution.
any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Akshay Joshi

I am posting some of my results also.
the waveform named as "Signal" shows two waveform one is the recorded sample(brown) and other one is the sound generated (Orange). there are some moments when the comparision result comes true even when both the waveform overlaps each other. no able to understand the problem.
any help please.

• Two sound outputs on one box

Is it possible for one to configure a system to use two sound outputs: 1) HDMI and 2) standard RCA stereo out? My goal would be to have the main system sound use the HDMI (applications like mplayer for example) and to also have mpd to use the standard RCA stereo out. I'm currently using pulse audio but am open to anything.
Thanks for the advice.

I just tried it. I set account A to use internal speaker, B to use iMic audio output. I started iTunes on each account. I can fast user switch and A always plays through the internal speaker, B though the iMic.

• Sync two sound object

Hi to all!
I have a little question about play sound in Flex (with AIR).
I create two Sound Object and load two mp3 file. Now i want that this two file start playing at the same time, when user click a button.
The problem is that two file, when playing are a little lag (delay of about 1/2 second or less)...
Where is the problem? Is an actionscript bug or is my interpretation of the sound class incorrect?
This is my simplified code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="init()">

I used thse mp3 files:
http://muzakdeezign.com/air/funk_drums.mp3
http://muzakdeezign.com/air/funk_bass.mp3
For your test you use Mp3 file with particular encoding? I try with many mp3 and all havea sync problem.
I used MediaCoder to encode from wav to mp3
http://mediacoder.sourceforge.net/
But from what I can tell (and have read), it doesn't matter which encoder you use.
here's the code I used:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<mx:WindowedApplication xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" creationComplete="appInit()">
<mx:Script>
<![CDATA[
private var sound1:Sound;
private var sound2:Sound;
// appInit()
private function appInit():void {
trace("Application ::: appInit");
var request1:URLRequest = new URLRequest("loops/funk_drums.mp3");
var request2:URLRequest = new URLRequest("loops/funk_bass.mp3");
//var request3:URLRequest = new URLRequest(path + "G.mp3");
sound1 = new Sound(request1);
sound2 = new Sound(request2);
// startSong()
private function startSong():void {
trace("Application ::: soundCompleteHandler");
sound1.play(0, 0, null);
sound2.play(0, 0, null);
]]>

• Disolving two sound together

What is the best method to disolve two sound together on one sound timeline?
Dan

It depends on (a) whether the sounds are fairly nondescript, e.g; just people chattering, (b) how closely they must be kept "in sync" (synchronised, in step) with the video, (c) if the sounds came into iMovie separately from the video, etc.
Here's an example: if you have two video clips, complete with sound, of people chattering, you can simply add a Cross Dissolve transition between those two video clips. The sound will dissolve, too.
But when you add a Dissolve of, say, three seconds between two video clips, then the first three seconds of the 2nd video clip and the first three seconds of sound on that clip will disappear, or get used up, in the Dissolve. So if there's something important at the start of the 2nd clip you may need to use a very quick Dissolve, so that not too much of it gets "eaten away" when it's laid on top of the last second(s) of the 1st clip.
A better way is to select the video clips which you may be going to dissolve between, and then use "Advanced" and "Extract audio" to 'Extract' the audio from those clips before doing any dissolving.
['Extracting' the audio just makes a copy of the audio and puts it in an audio track beneath the video, and 'Locks' the audio to its parent video clip. The original audio within the video clip still remains, but it's automatically muted down to zero volume level.]
You can then adjust the separate audio as much as you want by selecting an audio clip, clicking on "View" and "Show Clip Volume Levels", and then you can click on any part of the straight-line volume level, within an audio clip, to "anchor" the level, then drag it down to whatever you want.
(..It's all described in Apple's online iMovie audio-editing Help here, as part of all the other iMovie Tutorials here..)
By sliding two audio clips closer together, or even overlapping them, you can create a smooooth transition from one audio clip to the next. But dragging an audio clip may drag it "out of sync" with its parent video clip. You may have to decide if it's OK or not to 'lose' some video if you pull it in closer towards a previous clip, so as to keep it in sync with the audio dissolve you've made.
You might decide to 'insert' some extra bit of video (..a 'cutaway' shot..) and then shorten that so that the region of video which you do want to keep will stay in sync with your audio after you've made an audio dissolve.
Here's a little 'thumbnail image' of how you can adjust the volume of two 'Extracted' audio clips by altering their audio levels:
To see it more clearly, click here and then click on the 'Start Slideshow' button.
(..The picture shows two video clips, Original Clip A and Original Clip B. Just before creating a transition between them, think how long you want the transition to be, say two seconds, and then cut the two clips at a bit more than two seconds from their ends, making Sub-clip A and Sub-clip B.
Then Extract the audio from those two sub-clips. To make things easier, drag one of the audio clips onto the lower audio track.
The audio clips are now isolated from the video clips. Apply your Dissolve, or whatever, to the two video Sub-clips.
Adjust the levels of the two audio clips to get the perfect dissolve..)

Correct. Gift cards can only be purchased and redeemed in the country of origin. Given that it's the holidays you might consider gifting them to a needy child in your church.

• My Iphone is not recognizing my SIM card...I've tried two cards but no luck...please help...

I tried putting two SIM cards in my iphone. It intially recognizes it, but it can't text, 1 out of 5 call attempts are successful. The rest is all good, but it's not like a phone anymore..

Are thses actual microSIMs or regular SIMs that have been cut down?
IF they have been cut down, it's possible they were not cut properly and are not making contact resulting in marginal performance.
If they are microSIMs then it's possible the iPhone is experiencing a hardware issue.

I have been trying for two weeks to log into iTunes using my Bank of America Visa Debit card but no progress. Is it that iTunes does not use debit card, I only have a debit card and Not credit card, so does it mean I can't use iTunes .?

I believe if you haven't already setup an itunes account, if you have access to computer with iTunes installed , you can create an iTunes account on that computer with no credit/debit card and then just buy iTunes cards at your local retailer to get credits.

• I know I can switch two iphone 4s's with SIM cards, but can I flip a CDMA iphone 4 (no SIM) with a 4s (has SIM)?

I know I can switch two iphone 4s's with SIM cards, but can I flip a CDMA iphone 4 (no SIM) with a 4s (has SIM)?
My wife wants to use my daughter's 4s phone instead of her CDMA iphone 4 with no SIM. Does verizon need to do the switch since I can't just switch SIM cards and restore from backup?

Unless the 4S was sold for Verizon, the CDMA module is disabled. Regardless, Verizon will not activate devices on their network that were not specifically sold for their network.

• FLV with two sound

Hi my friends
I need a flv with two sound. I want to load load two different sound for one flv file. for example I want to load my flv file in frame 1 with sound 1 then I want to load my flv file in frame 2 with sound 2. How can I do it?
Best regards
Hanif

you should use two flvs that contain the two sounds if sync'g is an issue. if it's not an issue, then use two sound class instances to play your two sounds.
you can improve your current sync'g by disabling the autoPlay of your flv and starting by the flv and your timeline after the flv completely downloads and your swf completely downloads.
