Two typefaces installed in font family, but no option to choose from the two.

I installed two fonts from myfonts in the ITC franklin gothic family...book standard and condensed. I use their skyfonts tool to download fonts I purchase from myfonts all the time. Even though I downloaded them separately, font book is putting then in one family so when I click on it in font book, I can see the two of them there on the right but when I go to use them in an application, only the main one is an option (the standard one). Any ideas to get them both availble in my list of fonts?

That shouldn't be a problem as they won't have any conflicting names between each other, and OS X doesn't come with any versions of Franklin Gothic, though MS Office 2008 and 2011 do.
Testing with the various versions I have, the older Type 1 PostScript version of this typeface does conflict with the Office 2011 font (regular face). So it's possible you have a font conflict, though Font Book should warn you of that.
You could try resetting Font Book. Not always the reason, but a damaged FB database causes problems like this. Such as fonts you are told are active don't show up in all apps, or any of them.
Close all running apps. Restart your Mac and immediately hold down the Shift key when you hear the startup chime to boot into Safe Mode. Keep holding the Shift key until you see a progress bar towards the bottom of the screen. You can let go of the Shift key at that point.
OS X asks you to log in (you will get this screen on a Safe Mode boot even if your Mac is set to automatically log in). Let the Mac finish booting to the desktop and then restart normally. This will clear Font Book's database and the cache files of the user account you logged into in Safe Mode.

You can also use Carbon Copy Cloner to clone your present setup to it and boot from it.

I have installed Creative Cloud Desktop but it fails to load. The icon shows up in the bar at the top right but then it just disappears. I am running Yosemite on a MacBook Pro.

I downloaded and installed Creative Cloud Installer and installed the Creative Cloud desktop on my MacBook Pro running Yosemite. The Creative Cloud desktop tries to install when the system starts and the icon actually shows in the top bar briefly and then disappears shortly after it shows up so it is obviously failing to load. I have tried multiple times to no avail.

Vanb38462666 or Daniel do either of you have a Library/Input Managers folder? If so what do you have inside that folder?

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

If your hard drive is getting full, you need to free up, at least, 20 GBs of space on your iMac's hard drive.
If your Mac is running a fairly recent version of OS X, here are some general guidelines.
Follow some of my tips for cleaning out, deleting and archiving data from your Mac's internal hard drive.
Have you emptied your iMac's Trash icon in the Dock?
If you use iPhoto, iPhoto has its own trash that needs to be emptied, also.
If you use Apple Mail app, Apple Mail also has its own trash area that needs to be emptied, too!
Other things you can do to gain space.
Delete any old or no longer needed emails and/or archive to disc, flash drives or external hard drive, older emails you want to save.
Look through your Documents folder and delete any type of old useless type files like "Read Me" type files.
Again, archive to disc, flash drives, ext. hard drives or delete any old documents you no longer use or immediately need.
Download an app called OnyX for your version of OS X.
When you install and launch it, let it run the automatic ans S.M,A.R.T. tests, then go to the cleaning and maintenance tabs and run the tabs that have the ability to clean out all web browser cache files, web browser histories, system cache files, delete old error log files.
Typically, iTunes and iPhoto libraries are the biggest users of HD space.
move these files/data off of your internal drive to the external hard drive and deleted off of the internal hard drive.
If you have any other large folders of personal data or projects, these should be archived or moved, also, to the optical discs, flash drives or external hard drive and then either archived to disc and/or deleted off your internal hard drive.

Can't install Server Essentials because it is not currently available from the Software Update server?

I have just purchased Mac OS X Lion Server. When I launch the Server App I am told I need to download additional software but once the App attempts to do so I get this message "Can't install Server Essentials because it is not currently available from the Software Update server".
I looked around on the internet and I found a few vague comments stating I may need to insert commands into the Terminal. Can anybody help me please?

Since installing Photoshop CC I can't access Camera Raw from the program Bridge.

Since installing Photoshop CC I can't access Camera Raw from the program Bridge. When I try, I get a message that says, "Camera Raw editing is not enabled. Camera Raw editing requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature." Is Photoshop CC a qualifying product? It has been opened a number of times, but it doesn't solve this problem.

I am having this exact same problem and just upgraded to Windows 7...many people are saying to update the Plug In for Camera Raw to 4.6, but that is not working for me to see it in Bridge or Camera Raw.

I hope I'm submitting this properly, I apologize if this irritates anyone because of improper etiquette. Why do applications (Illustrator, Pages, Mail) launch so slowly with spinning ball (about a minute to 90 seconds) when Mac is connected to our LAN, but when I disconnected Mac from the LAN, those applications launch instantly and function normally? This is a condition which seemed to start just recently and abruptly. These applications reside on, and are launched from the startup drive, not from a network drive. Also, we have a NAS drive on the LAN that we connect to that also takes a minute or two to mount, when it used to (before this problem) mount on the desktop in a matter of about 5 seconds. We have three identical Mac Pros on the LAN, and they all have this problem when launching and using the above mentioned applications. When I physically unplug the network cable from the Mac, all applications launch instantly and function normally. I know very little about networks, so I can't begin to test or change any setting pertaining to our network - if that is where the problem lies. The only recent change to our network situation is that we lost or our internet and phone service due to massive flooding here in Minot, North Dakota (our ISP tells us the communication lines are under water and shorting out). But shouldn't our LAN still function even though we have lost our connection to the outside world? Thanks so much, in advance, for helping me solve this problem. Sheldon.

A slow LAN can have many things so its going slow.
1) is your lan 1gbit speed? (full duplex)
2) are the macs also 1Gbit speed? (full duplex)
3) does your nas has a firewall? (so you can see what the mac asking there)
4) on the macs is the firewall on? (does the programms can pass the fw?)
5) how big is the nas and how many files/dirctorys are on the nas? (big folders speeds down )
many questions, but sometimes there is a solution.
