Two USB CAS Headsets with mics attached

I am trying to record a podcast for the first time. I bought to USB mics and I have figured out how to record from both at the same time. However, playback only occurs on one headset although I set the output up the same as the input.
Additionally, I would like to know if I could use the monitoring on one head set to hear the other track and not my own voice. Therefor me and my podcast partner hear each other in the headsets and not ourselves.
Can anyone assist?

you can only create an aggregate device for input, AFAIK
could use the monitoring on one head set to hear the other track and not my own voice. Therefor me and my podcast partner hear each other in the headsets and not ourselves.
there is no routing of output, in GB. you can monitor one track, but even if you could create an aggregate device for output, you'd both hear the same single track.

  • Best headset with mic to use with macbook pro

    Hello,
I have a headset with a mic that I am using through Skype and other applications to speak to customers.
The mic is connected through a stereo mini plug, going through the headphone input jack on my MacBook Pro.
The mic audio is no longer registering through the audio input, and I can see (hear through recordings) that the only audio coming through when I where that headset is being picked up by the laptop built in mic.
I've done some reseach on line and have a few questions:
    1)  Is there a known issue with mic audio coming through the headphone input?
    2) Is there a known issue with mic audio coming through the headphone input specifically only when using Mountain Lion?
    3) Is it better audio quality to have a headset with mic connected via a USB input rather than the stereo mini input.
    4) Are there any recommendations for mic/headset combos out there or a brand that makes good product compatible with the MacBook Pro?
    Thank you,
    Suzanne

Good heatset mics very nearly dont exist.
If you want quality audio at all, mid-level grade USB mic is the best route.
And the use of headphones seperately.
Best mic sub-200$ is the Zoom H2n
Macbook Air uses a headset jack if you want a headset mic/headphone setup.
the downside being most mics on headsets are ubiquitously bad quality.
The PRO mics for laptops/ computers, most of them plug in via USB, not the headset jack.
SONY ICD-SX712 is a great choice (best "cheap" mic Ive found)

  • Stereo headset with mic

Good morning. I have a quick question concering the original stereo headset with mic that comes with the IPhone. I have noticed here recently that the right earpiece has a much lower sound volume than the left earpiece. Is this a common issue or do I have an issue with my headphones? Are there settings within the IPhone where this can be changed? I currently have the sound check OFF, the EQ set to Bass Reducer, and the Volume Limit is Off. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Actually the Apple store won't replace your headphones, or any other accessories, for you. You would either need to call AppleCare or set up the repair/replacement service yourself: https://selfsolve.apple.com/GetWarranty.do

  • I need a USB Headset with Mic to use for Webinar's and Go To Meeting sessions. There looks to be very few options that work with the Mac as they seem to be designed for Windows.  Any suggestions on equipment?

I am looking for a binaural USB headset with microphone to use during Go To Meeting sessions and Webinar's. Seems to be little that works with the iMac and most of the web searches have not been encouraging. Any suggestions on units that work.  I have a new iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

  • Once and for all please help compatible headsets with mic 2 use wSkpe

I have been searching, on this Forum about this subject but cannot get a straight answer. I'm tired making my Skype calls using the speaker on my Mac. I got several headsets including one with separate plugs, one for audio and other for mic. It didn't work.
I also was told that I should get any USB based headset. I've seen some advertised including the one at the Apple store, way too expensive. Any suggestion where I could find a compatible headset and which model

Believe it or not, even though I own a 24" I alway try to keep my expenses to a minimal. I posted my question on the Skype's forum and was able to get some help.
I am now able to use the same headset (not usb based) to work, and now I'm using it flawless, and I didn't have to buy a headset from the The Apple Store or Skype. I paid $12.00 at Fry's electronics....

  • Headset with mic not working on Mac Mini

I have a 5 year old Mini and a brand new one (haven't hooked up the new one because I have to take it to the Apple store to get the data migrated, which BTW Apple now charges $99 for, they didn't before)  My problem is getting the mic to work.  I am almost positive the old one does not have a built in mic, does anyone know if the new one has one?  I have a headset with both the earphones and the mic that I cannot get to work.  There are two jacks on the back, one for input one for output.  Neither headset mic is working.  I even bought an adapter with two jacks and tried that, but it doesn't work.  The output works both ways, it is just the mic I can't get to work.  (Rosetta Stone software)  Couldn't get much help from the Apple Tech support line.  Anyone have any ideas?

Ge a headphone/mic combo like used on a phone:
How to use Apple Earphones with Remote and Mic with your Mac - Apple Support
Also, you can get and some headsets (earphones and mic with separate plugs)  cme with an adopter which combines the two plugs into one plug that will work with the Mac and phones.

  • Internal microphone keeps on changing to external microphone when headset with mic is plugged in

Hey I want to use the built-in microphone on my macbook pro but whenever I plug in a headset with a microphone it changes the internal microphone into external in System Preferences>Sound>Input.
There is no option available to change it back to the built in microphone in the settings above.
I don't mind if I have to use a software as a workaround.
    I have a Macbook Pro 13-inch (mid-2012).

If you can get an adapter that "hides" the mic band on the plug, no switching will occur.
But that will probably imply a trip to the tech shop anyway.
It might be simpler just to use regular headphones or generic ear buds.
I don't know where you live but around here just about every drugstore, convenience store, & even most grocery stores sell inexpensive ear buds & headphones.

  • Headset with Mic has never worked (the mic)

I have an iphone 3G with the most currently released software updates. I just realized the headphones that came with the phone were also a headset. They have never worked. I see a lot of posts where they "quit" working after an update. I have tried to plug/unplug the mini jack/etc. Nothing seems to work. The clicker does not answer calls/etc. I can hear through the headphones, just no response from the mic.
Any suggestions? Is this a software thing, or switch that needs to be enabled?

    Hi
I had the same experienced before and had mine changed for a new Set.
Hope this is possible on your end and of cos has be still under Warranty - 1 year if no extended Apple Care ...

  • Headset with mic that will answer calls

I would like an "in the ear " type earphone that actually works correctly.  I had a great pair from sony for my apple Itouch with a mic.  I could use it to make calls using skype on WIFI, change the volume and skip tracks etc.  When I tried it on the Droid X it would ahswer the phone with a push of the button but the mic was dead and the other party could not hear me.  I tried a bunch including scullcandy from verizon store and Kliptch.  On these, the mike would work but if you push the button on the mike it would not answer an incoming call or allow my to click the button to place a call using voice dialing.
I saw in an earlier discussion a plantronics headset that will work, but this is an over the ear and only mono.  I want a nice set of earphones with noise isolation and a mic that will allow me to put the phone undercover, like when it is raining, and allow me to press the mic button to answer or place a call.  Does this exist?   I want to be able to hear my phone ring in the earphone when out on my tractor, and then press the button on the mic to answer the phone.   Thanks

I cannot believe that with 175+ people reading this post that no-one has an earphone with a microphone that will answer the phone and work.   How about one of the VZW techs!!!!!
There must be an earphone with a mic that will work on this phone.  If not then Motorola needs to do something about this problem.   Please provide some suggestions.  -Scott

  • Two USB Mics at Once?

I would like to start a podcast using my MacBook and Garageband and was wondering if I could use two USB headsets with mics at once without needing anything extra?
    Any help would be huge.

    Yep, non-obvious but completely doable:
    1. Plug in the two USB mics.
    2. In the Applications > Utilities, launch Audio/MIDI Setup.
    3. In the Audio menu of the Utility, select Open Aggregate Device Editor.
    4. Click the plus sign to create an aggregate device.
    5. In the lower box, select both USB mic AND the Built-In Audio.
    6. Use the clock from the Built-In Audio, and check Resample next to both USB mics. This will synchronize all the clocks using the one associated with the internal audio.
    7. Call the aggregate device whatever you want.
    8. Now go to your System Preferences and select Sound.
    9. Set the levels for each mic separately -- you can't set the levels using the aggregate.
    10. Finally, in GarageBand, create a track for each mic, and select any Mono input (in the Track Info Details section) that happens to work.
I've occasionally had trouble where the signal gets static. Just make some changes in GarageBand, or unplug the mics to make it go away.

  • Is the iPod Touch 2nd Gen compatible with current iPhone earbuds with mic?

I have a friend that wants to talk to me on Skype with an iPod touch 2nd gen, but the earbuds don't have a microphone to talk into.
