Two users on one iCloud account?

We are atwo iPhone household (currently both are 3Gs), one for me and one for mywife.  We share an iTunes account and MobileMe account so both phones have access to the same music (iTunes) and the same Calendar (MobileMe).  When we convert to iCloud should we use the same iCloud account?  What are the benefits of us each having our own account vs. using the same one?  If we use separate accounts, can we both still access and sync the same music from iTunes?  Will we be able to continue to share calendars?
Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Welcome to the Apple community.
If you mean a single MobileMe account, with two people sharing it, then yes they both need to start using iCloud at the same time.
If however you mean two people using a family MobileMe account, then no, they can migrate at different times.

No it is not possible.  Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

  • HT204053 Use two phones with one iCloud account?

Can you have two iphones with one iCloud account?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Absolutely. There is no problem whatsoever in using a single iCloud account for two phones. However, saying that, if the two phones are used by different people, it may well not be the best of ideas.

  • 4 users for one icloud account possible??

We're four to five users at work, needing a way to all be able to work on one document, not necessarily at the same time. I'd like to set-up one icloud account we can all use. Is this possible? Will we have to login every single time??
Each user has an IMac, iPhone and some an iPad too. We'd like to be able to use all of These devices to work on.
    please help....

If the document is an iWork document (Pages, Numbers, Keynote), you can collaborate on it using the iCloud iWork beta apps and still maintain separate iCloud accounts for each person.  Here are some support documents that explain how:

  • How to use two iPhones with one iCloud account

I am really confused at how to set our iPhones up.
My wife and I each have an iPhone 5.
We have one iCloud account because we share our calendar and contacts.
I did get her her own iCloud account to add some calendar events I don't need to sync.
That is working all well and good.
The only problem is Siri.  It says my name to her when she makes a request.  So I went in to Siri and choose her name out of contacts.  Then it starts calling me by her name on my iPhone.
Obvioulsy Siri is linked via iCloud and I am not seeing a setting to change that.
If we could share calendars between two different iCloud accounts all would be well.
Can we.  Can I set my calendar up as something she can subscribe to?

    Hi Friend,
About Siri, it must know who you are. To do that, go to: Settings>>General>>Siri>> My Information. There, you can select your own information, like name, phone number, home address, office address and so on.
About Calendars, you can set what you want to share with her, and what she wants to share with you as well. To do it, you must set it in two different places:
    1o: Set with iCloud: Settings>>iCloud, there you can set if you want to sync with;
2o: Set which kind of calendars you want to sync: Calendars>>Calendars, there if you want to sync Calendars, but you won't sync your Work Calendars, unmark Work. It will private your Work Calendars just with your iPhone device.
3o: General settings of your Calendars: Settings>>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>>Calendars, there you can setthe period of events you want to sync and set your Standard Calendar.
    Hope it will be helpful

  • Two devices on one iCloud account - how to separate?

Our family has two iPhones, one a 3 and one a 4s. We just added the 3 to the iTunes account when we got it, it wasn't really a problem that our contacts were synced or new app downloads were until today. I (on the 4s) downloaded a new software update - iOs 6.1.3, and after it had downloaded it was doing the installation questions and showed both of the numbers attached to the iCloud account, I just clicked continue continue etc (whoops). And now I'm receiving the texts that are going to the iPhone 3, so if the iPhone 4 texts the iPhone 3, the iPhone 3 receieves the message like normal, and it send normally on the iPhone 4 but then it also "receives" it on the 4 on a new thread - as if another phone has sent it. Basically I think i've accidently set my iPhone 4 to use both numbers. How can I change this? Not desperate to be receiving all the texts that the iPhone 3 is supposed to be getting!
Also, with regard to setting up a new iCloud account for the iPhone 3 (this is more practical since I have had the iPhone 4 for longer and therefore have more stuff on it), would it be best to take it into an apple shop, in the hope they would be able to back up the stuff that is on her phone (ie contacts and pictures that she can't afford to lose) and then create a new account and then put everything back onto the phone? Or would the phone keep the contacts/photos if there isn't an iCloud attached to it? Could we do this from the computer that her iPhone 3 is synced to?
    Help!
    Thanks!

The reason you are receiving each other's text messages is because you are both using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  To prevent this you need to use different IDs.  (Note: you can still share the same ID for iTunes.)  On one of the phones, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a separate ID.
To migrate your 3GS to a new iCloud account, start by saving any photo stream photos that you want to keep on the phone to your camera roll.  To do this, open the my photo stream album, tap Edit, tap the photos, tap Share, tap Save to Camera Roll.  Next, if you have any notes that you are syncing with iCloud that you want to keep, you'll need to email these to yourself so they can be recreated after moving to the new account.
Once this is done, go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from this phone, not from iCloud.  The phone that will be keeping the account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, choose Keep On My iPhone.  Next, sign back in with a different Apple ID to create the new account, turn iCloud data syncing preferences and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, if you have merged data in the two accounts that you want to separate you will have to go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want from each account.

  • Can I backup two devices to one iCloud account?

I have an iphone and an ipad using the same user id.  I backup my iphone to icloud, but can I also back up my ipad to the same iCloud account?
    Nathan

Yes, you could use one account for storing data and backups of multiple devices. It is made for that and because of the syncing services it wouldn't make any sense to set up separate accounts for different accounts.

  • Can I have two iPhones on one iCloud account?

I would like to put my wifes iphone on my icloud account so in the end we will have 2 iphones and one macbook on the account is that possible?

You can but it's usually not recommended.  If you do any synced data will be merged to the same iCloud account.  For example if you both sync your contacts and calendars with the same iCloud account you will see each others contacts and calendar events on your phones.  Also, you can share an Apple ID (account) for iTunes store purchasing and still have separate iCloud accounts.  This article may be of interest: http://www.macstories.net/stories/ios-5-icloud-tips-sharing-an-apple-id-with-you r-family/.

  • HT204053 can I have two iphones on one icloud account?

can i use 1 icloud account for two iphones?

sure, as long as you don't mind sharing information - like contacts calendars and some other stuff. There is no limit as far as I know to amount of Apple devices used with same icloud account.

  • I have two phones sharing one icloud account. How do I keep the phones for sharing stock application information?

I have two iphones and three macbook pros. Instead of using my ical server to sync my calendar I am now using icloud to sync the calendars. Since I implemented this the stocks on each phone which were different are now same when the phone syncs. How do I break the syncing between the iphone stock applications?

    Welcome to the Apple community.
Ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, providing you with your own contacts, calendars etc, not doing so will result in exactly what you have experienced. The contacts have likely been lost due to the options you have chosen at the login stage on each device.
Unless you have the missing contacts in a backup file, they won't be recoverable unfortunately. You can add them manually to the contracts that already exist and continue to share the iCloud account if you wish, but I suggest that you each have your own iCloud account.
Note, you can each have your own iCloud account, but continue to share an iTunes account for purchases of apps, books, music, TV shows etc etc.

  • Two iPhone under one iCloud account - trying to send a text to the other phone but I am the one getting hte message from myself...? How do I fix that?

I have recently added a iPhone 4S to my account (my daughters) and I tried to send her a text message but I got the message sent to my phone... How can I fix this?

Don't use the same Apple ID for iMessage.  (You can continue to share the same ID for iTunes and have separate IDs for other services such as iMessage and FactTime.
One of you should go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with a different ID.  If you're sharing the same ID for FaceTime, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime to keep from getting each other's FaceTime calls.

  • Two users sharing one email account?

My son and I uses the same email address account to purchase music on a iMac . We bought a windows machine and he wants to use iTunes on windows with different account. How to separate the music on one machine?
    Thank you
    Luis

I strongly suggest you get the whole profile in the same folder hierarchy before you even consider moving to windows 7.
    Windows XP has Program File
Windows 7 has Program Files and Program Files (X86) your executable goes in the x86 one.
    XP has applications data
    Windows 7 has appdata
In windows XP Thunderbird's profile is in application data in windows 7 it is in appdata/roaming
If you open explorer the old locations appear to be there, but they will not work to locate Thunderbird's disparate parts of it's profile
And so the list goes on. Hence none of the locations you know will probably exist under windows 7 so if parts of the profile are pointing to locations that have changed, only grief awaits you.
