Two users running a calc at the same time

Hi,I'm using Essbase 6.2 (moving soon to 6.5) and got problems when users are launching a calc script at the same time.The calcs then last very long time...Is there a way to avoid that, to forbid users to launch a calc when calc script is already running?Thanks for your help.

I can't think of a conventional way to prevent multiple simultaneous calcs. About the only thing that I can come up with would be to develop some kind of calc interface using VB, VBS, BAT, COM, etc. that would create a token file, or a record in a database that would serve as a flag that a calc is underway, and prevent another calc from running. <br><br>Jeff McAhren<br>Dallas, Texas

I connect both hard disks that get power from power supply normally. Also have ever changed the format as GUID. Which always use the power cord . I felt confusion why the issue just happened connect both hard disks with extra power at the same time. If i used one hard disk connect to firewire port . Another firewire port connect other firewire device . No problem at all.

Launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive (the drive itself, not the volume icons below it.) Is the SMART status "Verified?" If not, replace the drive immediately. If the status is "Verified," the drive may still be failing. Back up all data, if you haven't already done so. Reinstall Mac OS X, then run Software Update. Test with all wired peripherals disconnected. If it's still slow, you have a hardware problem.

Can I export my sidecar files to two or more hard drives at the same time from one computer?

Can I export my sidecar files to two or more hard drives at the same time from one computer? How do I do this, if it is possible?

Each image is imported into the LR Catalog from just one stated location on disk. And that is where the sidecar gets written.
But if you want, outside of LR, you can have a file sync utility replicate all physical changes within those folders on disk, into other corresponding locations on other drives - which hold a copy of all the same images, and a copy of the sidecars too. This might happen continuously, periodically or on demand depending on the particular tool you use... for example, the Dropbox desktop app.
If you also want to have your LR Catalog replicated, I think this can only be done when LR is not running and using that.

Does your portal support anonymous access? If so, make sure you are using the authlessanonymous mode. This mode only creates one session that is shared for all anonymous users. This is much more efficient than anonymous access, which creates a session for each anonymous user.
I have no other recommendation for limiting users to a single login. In general, web applications do not behave like this. What if a user closes their browser without logging out? Does the user have to wait until the session times out in order to log back in again?
The same thing is true for users that are mobile. If a user leaves their office without logging out and then attempts to log in with a laptop in the conference room, then access will be denied in your implementation. Users do not expect this type of limitation being built into the system.
If you are having problems scaling, then you need to look at your architecture and perhaps add some more resources. Also, make sure you are making efficient use of the authlessanonymous access mode as stated above.

actually, im going to use the first timer for the character's animation such as walking.. the other timer i'll use for timing the 'walking activity' of the character (let's say, 3 seconds walking).. after 3 seconds, the character will stop and do other activity aside from walking..

Assignment of a user in 2 departments at the same time

We are using SRM7.
There is a business requirement to assign a user under 2 department at the same time.
We have a shared services department under which there are HR, Legal, Purchasing.
Currently, this user is reporting directly to the Head of the Shared Services as an assistant admin. As per the business requirment, he is also required to work partly under purchasing as a purchaser.
How can I reflect that in PPOSA_BBP.

Streaming two or more flv videos at the same time

Hi,
I am working on a site that is intended to stream two or more flv simultaneously. The slightly different header clip should renew on entry to each page.
When I publish the fla file it plays as intended. When I upload the swf file to the web only one of the videos are playing back.
It does not matter if I import the video to a timeline, or stream it progressively from the server. Both clips are uploaded.
I am using CS3 and AS3.

Slow, slow running Photoshop & Lightroom at the same time.

Would like to keep my best pals Photoshop CS5 and Lightroom 3 open at the same time. Having worked on a few images in LR3 and then in Photoshop, they both run progressively slower.
Photoshop Memory Usage set to 70%. No other programs except Mail are open.
Would love alternative to present solution which is to alternate between terminating the presently not used program, but this is awfully tedious.

I'm running LR3 & CS5 on one of the latest model Intel Mac'Pro' 'workstations' (or so god-Steve likes to refer to his 'insanely kewl' 'top-o-the-line' computing products). And running these two apps (along w/iToons, Ffox, TextEdit and a few other minimally processor-hungry apps in the background) I find myself constantly waiting for them to do something – anything!
My installs were each done correctly. I have 6 gigs of memory (1066MHz sticks!), a 'quad core' processor as conductor on this thing and then apps that have been optimized to run on this (64-bit) architecture run so pokey I feel like I'm working on an old G4?! (I'm not talking 'pinwheels' here folks, I'm watching Adobe's 'new' 'progress'-graphic spinning as PS is 'working'.)
I know what the response would be if I'd call crApple'Care': "Oh, it's your Third Party applications. It can't be Snow Kitty! Archive and Re-Install." (Problem solved; next customer please...)
But at the same time, if one were to call Adobe and be lucky enough to speak to someone who isn't answering from a hot, humid phone-farm in east India, instead (perhaps) get some mellow fellow up in northern California, we'd likely get the reverse: "Sorry Meester Mike. I'm not familiar with Mac computers. Perhaps you could call Apple and explain the problem to them? Adobe products are really quite stable and sophisticated and..."

Two or more people editing at the same time

Dear All,
I am planning to purchase FCP Server, and I am just in a very beginning of consideration.
Immediately, I am wondering if FCP Server can let two or more people editing on the same project at the same time.
I know it has Check-in function, and it seems to me that it just takes the project to another computer to do editing. What if another person wants to do editing on the same project?
Also, if it allows us many people to do editing on the same project, can we save the project at the same time on the same computer installed FCP Server?
Please advise.

In Final Cut Server (FCSvr) checking out a Final Cut Pro project (FCProj) creates a copy of the project file at a location you specify saving it to on your local computer. When you check out a FCProj, the project asset is locked and cannot be modified by other users. Additionally, every media asset that is used in the project is locked from being modified by other users.
However in a you're trying to have multiple users work on and edit the same project, I'd suggest start by duplicating the FCProj asset within FCSvr. Maybe start with a master capture / digitize project that contains all the media needed to work on by both editor. This will allow for multiple editors to have access to the same project media assets. In any scenario where multiple editors are collaborating, I'd suggest have them also work on separate project file and maybe split / divi up the work, based on scene, act etc.
Sequences can be easily merge between project later.

Its is possible to use two embedded instances of OC4J at the same time?

I need to run two web apps at the same time in JDeveloper. Each on must run in its own OC4J instance, in different ports. I don't want to run a remote OC4J instance, I want two embedded instances and JDeveloper 10g comes just with one.
Wny ideas?

no, there is only one embedded OC4J instance possible. The option is to install OC4J stand alone locally.

Run 2 vi at the same time

Hi
How do I run 2 or more vi's at the same time, thus allowing me to interact with both without the need to close one. What I have is one main vi that allows me to manipulate data on a particular plot. I then what other vi's to pop up and stay open when needed showing the same data but on represented in a different way. Therefore as I change the data one my main vi I want it to show up simultaneously in the other plot/vis.
any help?

See the two attached vi's. Download them into a common folder. Ref1 is the main. Run it. It calls Ref2. Ref 2 will stay open until the stop button on Ref1 is pressed. While Ref2 is open, change the numeric control on Ref1. Notice how the data display on Ref2 changes to match the main vi. You can do this with as many subvi's as you want. Just pass the numeric and boolean references to each.
This is just a simple example showing the use of control references. If you need to do other things in your main, you will have to open the subvi's dynamically as smercurio has mentioned. Search for dynamic launching to learn more about this.

How to let user download multi files at the same time in WebDynpro ABAP?

As you know, WeyDynpor has provided upload/download UI element, but it seems that it only support one file upload/downlaod at the same time.The following is the API method to download one file in Webdynpro:

but it is very ugly that three popup windows are shown to let user select every file's download path, which is unaccepted.
So anyone know more convienient way to handle it?
