can we have two versions for sqldeveloper (sqldeveloper 1.5.4 and sqldeveloper 3.0.04) on the same machine ?
Are both good for 10g R2 ?

Two versions for the same driver?

It´s absolutely odd,but Nvidia has a 52.16 Windows XP driver and no 52.14,while in MSI site,there is only the 52.14(it is the original driver).3DMark 2003 said that the only approved driver is 52.16.But my perfomanceare cleary worse in this driver than in a no WHQL driver.What´s the use for a certified driver?
But oddest of all,I installed the 52.16 driver for Nvidia,but still could use the DOT function,even it was not a MSI driver.Should 52.14 be a modified version of 52.16?

How to update a package between two versions

I have a package that has two versions, for example: app_1.0 and app_2.0. How can I update the app_2.0 to a system that already installed the app_1.0. I want to overwrite the app_2.0 to the app_1.0 instead of installing another instance of app_2.0.

Best Practice for WSDL Generate Proxy Class for Web Service with Two Versions

Thank you in advance for you help.
I would like to generate proxy classes for same function but with two versions.
Old version web service (v23.2) is used for stable modules in a project which is not going to modify.
However, enhancement is added in new version web service (v24) and is going to use in any future modules.
For example,
wsdl.exe -o="TestProxy.cs" -l:CS -n:Test -sharetypes https://community.workday.com/custom/developer/API/Notification/v23.2/Notification.wsdl https://community.workday.com/custom/developer/API/Notification/v24.0/Notification.wsdl
It generates similar classes with an '1' added at the end of the class name.

Since the function inside some class is the same, is it possible for WSDL.exe to generate proxy classes automatically that if the class is the same, then generate one class only (sameFunction()) but if it detects the class is different, then add '1'
to the end of class name (differentFunction() and differentFunction1())
i.e.

private int a;}
public class differentFunction1()
{ private int b;

As per this case, I have shared corresponding details below :
1.As far as I know, WCF doesn’t support method overloading directly
2.Because WSDL doesn’t support method overloading (not OOPs).
3.WCF generates WSDL which specifies the location of the service and the operation or methods the service exposes.
4.WCF use Document/Literal WSDL Style : Microsoft proposed this standard where the soap body element will contain the web method name.
5.By default all the WCF services conform to the document literal standard where the soap body should include the method name.
6.but you can differ the method in the same manually by using Name attribute like below
For example:
    [OperationContract(Name="Integers")]
    int Display(int a,int b)
    [OperationContract(Name="Doubles")]
double Display(double a,double b)
7. Or I suggest you that can use svcutil to map multiple namespaces for generating wcf service proxies .

Can two versions of a package coexist - virtualbox for palm-sdk

I am trying to install palm-sdk on my 3.8.6-1-ARCH x86_64 GNU/Linux machine. And it turns out that this package requires virtualbox <=4.1. Current version of virtualbox is 4.2 so I downloaded virtualbox-4.1.8-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz and virtualbox-modules-4.1.8-2-x86_64.pkg.tar.xz from http://arm.konnichi.com/. virtualbox-modules requires linux <3.3 and I have linux 3.8.6-1 on my machine so before installing it, I wanted to make sure it would not break everything else. Is there a way to install two versions of linux and specify that linux-3.2 should be used by virtualbox-modules and linux-3.8.6-1 for all the rest?
Otherwise what would you suggest I should do?

Thank you! I finally fixed the problem!!
Here is how I did it in more details in case some other beginner falls into the same problem:
So I tried compiling the modules. Most of them failed with this error:
/opt/VirtualBox/src/vboxhost/vboxdrv/r0drv/linux/memobj-r0drv-linux.c:1074:9: error: implicit declaration of function ‘do_mmap’ [-Werror=implicit-function-declaration]

But in the end, virtualbox-4.1.24 worked:
- download http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualb … _amd64.run
- run:
sudo shVirtualBox-4.1.24-82872-Linux_amd64.run --keep --noexec
sudo mkdir /opt/VirtualBox
sudo tar jxf ./install/VirtualBox.tar.bz2 -C /opt/VirtualBox
cd /opt/VirtualBox/src/vboxhost/
sudo make
as suggested on http://www.virtualbox.org/manual/ch02.html
I was then able to load vboxdrv and launch palm-emulator

Do you mean Office 2008 and 2011 or do you really want Office 2001? I think you mean 2011 since Office 2001 wouldn't make much sense.
The Office uninstaller should be able to identify there are two versions and allow you to delete either one or both.

I am in a similar situation, but reversed! I have a Mac and I run a virtual pc . I downloaded the drivers from the Canon site for my i9900. but come to find out after spending about 1 hour with a Canon techie that he cannot get the Mac to communicate with the i9900, yet I can print from the virtual pc side to the i9900. when I found they had drivers for the Mac at canon I purchased the pse 8 for the Mac. Now I need to sell Mac pse 8, I did open the package, but never downloaded the software, I purchased for 54. with a $20.00 so hopefully someone will want to purchase then I can purchase pse8 for the pc side. I can understand you dilemma about having a different os but I also don't know of anyone allowing you license for both os without purchasing another package.
I'm upgrading from pse5, and what I gather there is quite a difference between the 5 and 8. I eventually will be happy!

My 2009 Mac Pro running OSX 10.9.2 has Facetime Version 3.0 (1636) but the app store has an updated version for sale that is listed as Version 1.0.5. What gives?

The FaceTime app in the App Store is only for OS X 10.6 and 10.7. Later versions of the OS have it built in.

You might want to consider running the older version [http://portableapps.com/apps/internet/firefox_portable/localization#legacy36 on a USB Stick with PortableApps]. That way you'll still be able to run the latest version for your day to day activities.

You need to be very careful which project you open in which version.
For 2014 make sure its on 2014.1 build 81.

Is it possible to run two different versions of JInitiator on the same pc? In testing, it appears that the most recently installed version take precedence over any other installed version.

You can use both versions but should use a different profile for each one (location where Firefox stores user data such as bookmarks).
The beta version should by default be installed in a different location than the release version, but to ensure this is the case you can choose the Custom option when installing Firefox and specify where you want it installed.
Next you need to create a new profile folder for the beta version, for details of how to do that see the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Creating_a_new_Firefox_profile_on_Windows Creating a new Firefox profile on Windows]. I already have Adobe Creative Suite 6 Master Collection (student version) installed on my personal home computer, but I'm looking into buying a laptop, will I be able to install the same programs and use the same serial number on my laptop as well as it being on my personal home computer, or would I have to buy separate software for my laptop?
