Two ways to change the DPI that are resulting in different outcomes... WHY?

I'm really having a hard time here, and I'm hoping someone can explain what I'm missing.
Because I like iPhoto's crop feature better then ACR or PS, I decided to add it to my process at the very end. Basically saving as a PSD, importing into iPhoto, cropping, and exporting the file back out in JPG or PSD format... The only catch is that iPhoto loves 72dpi, so I would have to add one more step to up the dpi using the Process Multiple Files feature in PSE6.
Problem - After I batch the files to 300dpi using the Process Multiple Files feature, everything went out of wack. For example, File 001.psd started out at 2848x4288, 33.7MB, and 240dpi. Once imported into iPhoto, cropped, and exported, the psd file was at 2458x3686, 25.1MB, and 72dpi. Then after the batch process the psd file is at 10242x15358, 310MB, and 300dpi.
Now if instead I take the 72dpi psd file and open it up in PSE6, go to image/resize/image resize, then change the Resolution number from 72 to 300 under Document Size, the file comes out to 2458x3686, 25.3MB, and 300dpi.
Are the two attempts to change the DPI not the same?
What am I missing here?
My goal is to end up with a 300dpi Max jpg image from the cropped files I exported from iPhoto, without them being way oversized. One would assume this is a straight forward process, no?

Obviously, the two processes are not the same.
You didn't tell us what you did, what options you selected, in Process Multiple Files, so its hard to tell what you did wrong.
There's absolutely no reason to change the dpi, it is a meaningless number for screen display. The only time it matters is when you go to print, and since you didn't mention printing at all, I would recommend just forgetting this idea of batch changing dpi. It has no value whatsoever.

I can confirm this behaviour and it defeats the purpose of having a hub.

I see there were several missteps both by the reps and yourself in your post. First you should have insisted on returning the phone within the 14 day return policy period. How do you change the fields that are displayed on the email preview list after a search?

How do you modify the fields that are displayed in the mail preview list in the center column of Mac mail after you conduct a search of your email? All of a sudden the displayed fields changed on me whenever I do a search in mail. When I have not filtered my email with a search, the default field shown in bold at the top of each message's preview is the "From" field. However, when I do a search this changes to the "To" field. But why would you want this?
iTunes is responsible for the File Management, let it get on with it, you do your organisation in the iTunes window. And everything you need to do, you can do via the iTunes Window. Want to find the file of a track quickly? Right click on it in the iTunes Window and select Show File: A finder window pops open with the file already selected.

Two ways of naming the thread in java
1)

2)
MyThread t = new MyThread();
t.setName("MyThread");

The first example allows you to ensure the thread is given a name, in the second case, the name change is optional.
The difference is a design choice.
IMHO, If you are ever are wondering if some small change will make a big difference to performance then 99/100 times the answer is it wont. In the cases where is makes a difference you are just as likely to get the choice the wrong way around in any case.

When my mom first bought her ipad last year, I gave her my Apple ID so that she doesn't have to create one and so that we could share apps. However, now that we also have an iPad, we both agreed that it would be much simpler if she could have her own Apple ID. We created her a new one. However, we have discovered that she is still connected to my iCloud and we just can't figure out how to go back and unable her ipad to have access to my iCloud! (which is already used for our computers, iPad, Apple TV)

On the iPad, tap "settings / iCloud". You should see a way to delete the current iCloud Apple ID listed near the bottom. Once it is deleted, just add in her iCloud Apple ID.

EP6.0: Can't change the Users that are created earlier by somebody else

Hi,
I ( have super admin access) am trying to modify/delete some of the users that were created by some body else earlier.
During Modify, it's not allowing me to change the following (grayed out)
1> Last name
2> First name
3> email add
Moreover I don't even see the password field where I can reset the password.
Also when I change the validity period etc, for some reason, the old data come back again after some time.
The user in question needs some additional access and need resetting of the password and I am not able to do the 2nd.
Also please note that there is no issue with the User lock, I have checked that already.

Have u Changed in User Mapping ?
Go to 'User Admn' - >User MApping -> search for the User u want -> Do edit .
If u hav did any LDAP ,u can't change the Fname / Lname here as it's been configured .

Is there a way to change the order that Ctrl+` switches through tab groups?

I prefer for Ctrl+Tab to switch between tabs in the most-recently used order (the same way Alt-Tab works), so I use that setting in about:config. Is there a way to do the same thing with the Ctrl+` shortcut that switches through tab groups? By default it appears to cycle through all of them, regardless of the order of use, which is very inconvenient for me, because I have tab groups that I don't use very frequently that just get in the way when cycling through them.
Barring that, is there a way to make it so that Ctrl-Tab cycles through all tabs, regardless of what group they're in?

Is there no easy way to change the computer that an iPhone is synched with?

I have my iPhone 4 synched to an old Power Mac. I just bought a new Macbook and want to transfer my iPhone info to this new computer so I can synch and update software from this new computer. I am getting rid of the Power Mac. Is there no easy way to do this? I can't seem to figure it out. I don't want to lose my info or iTunes library. Apple is usually so intuitive, but this seems to be incredible complicated. Any ideas?

This link says "If you have photos that were synced to your phone or music ripped on your own that were not backed up, you will first have to extract them from your phone using third party software, before you do anything else, as Apple makes no provision to do so". I don't understand. Isn't it ALL synched to my iPhone? Isn't that why it's ON my iPhone? This is absurdly confusing.

Settings > Screensaver > Photos, scroll down to computers were you should see the ones you've chosen to home share in iTunes.

Is there a way to edit the characters that are used when a password is generated using Safari?

So, I really like shared keychain. I really do. I also like the option for Safari to generate lengthy and complex passwords. HOWEVER, many of the websites I have tried to use the generated passwords for fail - because of the " - " character. The dash or tack or what ever you want to call it.
I realize that I can just type jumbled nonsense or gobbledegook. BUT, I would prefer to have Safari use specific characters (or at the least, exclude certain characters). Less Fuss, Less Muss.
I have looked in Safari Preferences, and there is not a selection to control password length or useable/excluded characters.
I know of third party solutions (I have 1 Password, and yes - it allows for specifing the allowable content of the passwords), but I'm trying to keep it simple and just use the Apple Tools.

I was hoping to get the effect of a push segue from the initial View Controller screen to a UIView on that same view controller. I seem to be able to add this option into my Swipe Gesture connections, (storyboard shows the segue arrow exiting the View controller and then pointing back into the same View Controller) This would be ideal, but I cant work out if its possible to link this segue to the new UIView I want. At the moment it just feeds back to the initial View Controller screen! Argggh!!!

Well, then, if that is true on your machine, then I guess your Numbers 3.1 came with a different template than my Numbers 3.1!
Those sure DO look like Pop-Up Menu to me.
The template works by having the two tables work together, with the category values matching, as you pointed out. For that to happen, you've got to manage Pop-Up Menu in one of the tables. So don't you think my advice might possibly be helpful?

Is there a way to change the thumbnails for movies/videos?

This may be more of a Leopard question, but I'm wondering if there's a way to change the thumbnail that OSX and Front Row display of movie files. I think this feature is awesome but would love to have more control over it so I can pick a frame from the video that relevant to me. Imagine Front Row's menu for movies with a bunch of thumbnails that are title screens or your favorite scenes from your movie collection (rather than a random thumbnail that may or may not even be identifiable to that movie).
I've already included this request to Apple in a suggestion I sent along including a few other Front Row requests/suggestions I had including movie/video playlists, album art support over streaming/shared libraries, and music that doesn't stop playing when you return to the main menu.

It appears that "saving" doesn't impact the quality, but wraps the file up in the .mov format (size and quality appear to stay the same). It worked ("saving" instead of using the save as a reference movie seems to fix the starting playback from the poster-frame issue). However, now a new issue has come up... I like to save the files to DVD as the original .avi so they will play on our Philips DVD players. However, being wrapped up in .mov means I have to have two versions of the file, and if my HDD ever dies or fills up I'll have to always correct the poster frame, and save another copy from the .avi original. Kind of frustrating... I wish Front Row/Quick Time would let you easily change the thumbnail and not have to change the format, etc.

I have migrated the Developments that are there from the DEV to the PRD server. I am facing a Problem that I am not able to change the developments that are there and I need to <b>change the IP and Hostname and also the adapter specific identifiers</b> that were there for the DEV server.
I have done a plai Export Import in .tpz format. Please do tell me whether this mode of transport does not allow the changes and also how can I edit the changes.
This is really important for me as I am nearing GO-LIVE.

Hi,
if you need to change anything in PRD in repository
you need to click on the software component in IR
and at the bottom of the screen you will find two checks
that will allow (or not) you to change objects
but the proposer way is to change everything in DEV of course
