Two windows open

Should be simple..was able to do it once but..I want to be able to view my library and whats on my ipod at the same time. For instance when organzing my podcasts I want to make sure I am deleting things out of my library that I already have on my ipod etc. Basically I want to see both at the same time with one minimized. Sorry for the dumb question but I just cant seem to remember how I have done it before!

I just upgraded to 6.0.2. Now two windows open each time (your firefox is updated). There is also a lag becasue it is checking ad ons. I tried deleting prefs.js. I also reinstalled Firefox. Nothing works. Very frustrating

Could it be something else besides apps, that's downloading, but not finishing? Like a movie, or book?
I got Toy Story those two little movies from 12 days and the other one is not downloading.
If thats the issue, pause the movie download, so it will download your apps.

Don't use any full screen options for any app that has them
Mount your device and double click on it to open it. Drag this window to the upper right of your Desktop and resize it to a bit less than half of your Desktop.
Open the next folder and position it on the lower left side and resize it so you can still see the previous window.

When I click a link in Mail (Mac OS) Firefox opens two windows. The frontmost window is always blank. The other window shows the page to which the link pointed. I would like to avoid having two windows open.

The windows that open in Firefox both have an address that starts with file:/// and then the directory on my computer to my "temporary internet files". One window displays in text only the history of the e-mails received from the sender. The second window simply says "loading"

How do I have two windows open side by side in Mountain Lion

I want to open two windows side by side for comparison purposes. Can anyone tell me how to do this please? BUT when I input something into one window, I don't want the other window to close. I know this can be done on my Windows laptop but I'm now using Mountain Lion on a new Mac - maybe it's something I have to learn to do without.
Any help would most appreciated.

You want to have two browser windows open at the same time?
In Safari, just type command + n, and a new Safari window will open. You can use either window independently.

IDVD- I need two windows opened at once...is that possible?

I am working on two separate IDVD projects. I would like to have two windows in IDVD opened at the same time. When I open the first project it shows in on my screen, then I go to file to open a new one and the first project is overridden. Is this not an option?

When a device mounts, two windows open[SOLVED]

When I plug in a flash drive or an external hard drive, it mounts and opens the device twice. So when I plug in the flash drive, two windows pop up.
This is a nuisance. Where did I go wrong in setting hal up?

Maybe you should specify what DE you are using: I guess it' Gnome 2.22.

Windows hides some file extensions by default.
Among them are .html and .ini and .js and .txt, so you may only see file name without file extension.
You can see the real file type (file extension) in the properties of the file via the right-click context menu in Windows Explorer.

I have two windows open, but one will only show the preview and when I try to bring it up, it won't open?

I can see the window as a little thumbnail when I hover over the firefox icon in the taskbar - & I can even change the contents, because it seems to be the 'main' window, so when I tried to change a setting in my add-ons, the add-on window opened in it, and I have no way of reaching it. When I try to click on the window to bring it up, it 'selects' and is highlighted, but it never comes up, no matter how long I wait.
I can close the window that does pop up, and the other window remains unaffected. Even manually trying to "switch over" to the window from the task manager won't work.
EDIT: I am all up-to-date, Firefox 15.0, etc.

Perhaps the PLUGIN Update feature needs to be engaged to assure that both Java and Shockwave editions are current. It requires 'Help' > 'Firefox Help' > where the lower right side displays a link for Plug-In Update...

Every picture on firefox has an add or a link to open a new tab, cites that wouldn't before have like two windows opened.

This is a new computer it has Windows 8, and for some reason there are so many ads on Firefox. Every time I open up a window go go something simple like Google an ad will pop up in the corner. I'm not sure if it Firefox or Windows 8, but it is really frustrating to not be able to click a single link and have two different tabs opening.

I have multiple tabs but I want to be able to see two or three windows at the same time. How do I do this

You can click and drag on a tab to "tear" it out into a new window. Or you can open a new window by pressing Control+N, or by hovering over "New Tab" in the Firefox menu and then choosing "New Window" from the sub-menu that appears.

Say I have Pages open and I need to go to Safari for some reasearch. If I click on Safari, the Pages window will just disappear and then the Safari window will open. To make sure that this was just a settings issue, I logged out of my personal account and then logged in on the guest account. When I tried to have two windows open, there was no problem. Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:

When I first pick firefox to open two windows come up. one is welcome to firefox and it has a pop up box asking someting about shopping. the second window is the start page

When I first open firefox, two windows open at the same time. Welcome to firefox with a pop up window and the second one is the mozilla firefox start up page. It is very annoying.
