Two xml parsers

Hi all!
I have two different xml parsers (V2 and xerces) in my shared/lib directory of tomcat.
If i dont put xerces in there, web service related code gives me following runtime exception...

Version 2.0 is the latest release that is bundled with Oracle8i. Use the 2.0 releases as their functionality and performance is much better.

  • Weblogic 12g Server - EAR with WAR - how can I have different XML parsers

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement where I need to have two different XML parsers in the same enterprise application.
    By backend Spring container require a XML parser and my JSP code which has XSLT logic require another XML parser.
    If I specify -D System property then it is applied to the whole Enterprise application. Instead I want a way to specify different XML parsers one for Spring backend container and the other for JSP pages.
    I am deploying my application in Weblogic and it is an EAR file.
    Thanks in Advance,

  • Experiences with Adobe XPAAJ, XML Parsers, OC4J /AS 10.1.2,10.1.3 and DB10g

    Over the past couple of weeks we have been working on a solution which uses the newly available adobe XPAAJ api's (XML/PDF Access API for Java) for Java.
    The client has a legacy requirement to where users are issued with a pdf form which they complete, save and upload to the server via a JSP. A neat bit of Java code utilizing the XPAAJ API's then strips out the form entered data and spits out XML. This is then parsed and inserted into relational tables within the schema.
    Our solution needs to be deployed to an Oracle stack. However we ran into a number of problems when deploying the solution to AS 10.1.2. The adobe API's are not compatible with the Oracle XML Parsers. When extracting the form data, no error is reported and the code which performs the xml parsing just fails. Very nasty.
    The main problem has been that Oracle XDK libraries have been hard-coded into the classpath of the container using the referential JAR file Class-Path mechanism. Altering this has required the use of the JRE extension library mechanism, or altering the boot classpath of the JVM when it is launched to load the alternative XML parser implementation instead. While this works, it has been an unsupported operation since the effect of this change is not limited to a specific application – it’s effect are felt across the entire container and this may lead to unpredictable results at runtime.

    We did look at a number of other solutions including embedding the java classes I'd written into the database. After loading the apache Xerces api's into our schema we hit upon the same problem. It seems that the same thing happens in the database and the Oracle XML parser is used by default.. Please see SR Number : 6153038.994 on Metalink.
    If you can upgrade to AS 10.1.3 then you can follow the excellent how to at:http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/10131/how_to/how-to-swapxmlparser/doc/readme.html . Demo code can be found at: http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/10131/how_to/how-to-swapxmlparser/how-to-swapxmlparser.zip
    The how-to details how to swap xml parsers within the application server.
    Other possible solutions that are also available include:
    - Shelling out to the OS from the DB or Apps Server, You can then execute the app as a command line app with a custom classpath. Very bad architecture design.
    - Setting up an RMI client / server application where client is the db or apps server. You can find examples of this on the web. google 'Simple RMI example'.
    - Bootstrapping the XML parser in AS 10.1.2 (unsupported).
    I hope people have found this informative. It might save someone a lot of time.

    "When I was installing SOA 10.1.3.1.0 on oracle 10.2.0.1 and it was giving error that it needs minimum 10.2.0.3, just wondering 10.1.2.0.2 + SOA =will this work?"
    so you talk about the db version. SOA 10.1.3.x runs on 10.2.0.1 and above (I ran for the longest time on XE) and if I remember correctly that's a warning, and not a hard prereq.
    Regarding Appserver versions - soa 10.1.3 runs on AS 10.1.3 only

  • How to compare the contents of two XML documents

    Hi all,
    I was trying to compare the contents of two xml documents, they are both validate for the same XML Schema. i was using the xmlunit to do this. but some how it doesn't work like what i have expected. for example:
    1.xml : <test><item>2</item><item>1</item></test>
    2.xml: <test><item>3</item><item>2</item><item>1</item></test>
    the result from XMLUnit is this two xmls are different, but it compares <item>2</item> with <item>3</item>, which i cannot find out where the real diiffs are.
    does anybody know how i can do this correct?
    best regards,
    tina

    I faced a similar problem in one of my projects and hence wrote my own comparator. Most comparators like ExamXML etc show XML as different if the nodes under a parent node occur in different seqeunce or a set of repeated nodes occur in different sequence. The comparator that I wrote gives you the flexibility to configure how to identify a node from a set of repeated nodes and is able to compare them successfully if they occur in any order. You can view the sample output at http://geocities.com/dheerendra_itbhu/TipsFromDheeru.html
    and contact me in case you need the source code.

  • Exception with javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError

    I have a code segment that is working in a Java standalone application environment. I've taken the same segment and ran it in Lotus Domino's environment, with the following error,
    javax.xml.parsers.FactoryConfigurationError: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.lang.RuntimePermission getClassLoader)

    I changed a switch within the Lotus Domino environment to allow class loader, but now I'm getting a different error,

    Any idea?

  • Comparing nodes in two xml files

    I need help with a flex app i am making. My skill level in flex is pretty much basic, so some of the questions may seem easy but they r not to me
    I need an application that will load two external xml files and compare nodes. The xml files are pretty much identical except for the values ofcourse. After that i need to write this data to a new xml file which my flex app will generate. Can anyone plz give me an example code which i can later modify for my own application. You can give me any type of an example with the simplest xml files.
    Thank you in advance

    "for in" and "for each in" statements can be used to iterate through the nodes. If the two xml files are of same structure , you can easily compare the node attributes. Here is the link to the livedocs page for looping through xml nodes

    This seems to be a classpath problem. You can also use JDK1.4.1
    which has crimson bundled with it. So you do not need to do any explicit settings for classpath.
    Pls let me know if you still have problems

  • Attaching two XML docs together using XPath

    Hi,
    I have a conceptual question about whether something can be done in Oracle XML DB.
    I have two XML docs, doc1 and doc2. I want to attach doc2 to doc1 at some particular subelement of doc1's root element. I know the path to this subelement because I have an XPath which uniquely identifies that subelement. Assuming that these two docs are XMLTYPEs, is there a way to do this using XML DB functions, given only the XPath? Also, keep in mind that I don't know the structure of the documents at development time
    To better explain my question here is a stupid-simple example:
    doc1:
    <company>
    <department name="Sales"/>
    <department name="Marketing"/>
    </company>
    doc2:
    <employees>
    <employee name="Fred"/>
    <employee name="Jim"/>
    </employees>
    I want to attach doc2 into doc1 under doc1's <department name="Sales"/> element.
    I know that the XPath to this element is "/company/department[@name='Sales']"
    Is there any kind of Oracle magic that, given only doc1, doc2 and this XPath, would give me doc3:
    <company>
    <department name="Sales">
    <employees>
    <employee name="Fred"/>
    <employee name="Jim"/>
    </employees>
    </department>
    <department name="Marketing"/>
    </company>
    Although it seems kind of silly, whether or not this is possible will have to determine whether I use Oracle XML DB for my application. Also, in some situations the subelement I am attaching under may be nested 3, 4 or more elements below the root.
    Thanks in advance for any help,
    -Brad

    Yep ... exactly what I'm trying to do ... but it still don't work. This is what I get when I paste that into my SQL*Plus interface:
    SQL> set long 100000
    SQL> select updateXML(
    2 xmltype('
    3 <Document>
    4 <DocInfo>
    5 <EntityRef>EntityName</EntityRef>
    6 </DocInfo>
    7 <Body>
    8 <EntityRef>Entity2</EntityRef>
    9 </Body>
    10 </Document>'),
    11 '//EntityRef[text()="Entity2"]',
    12 XMLType('<NewRef>Something New</NewRef>')) from dual;
    UPDATEXML(XMLTYPE('<DOCUMENT><DOCINFO><ENTITYREF>ENTITYNAME</ENTITYREF></DOCINFO
    <Document>
    <DocInfo>
    <EntityRef>EntityName</EntityRef>
    </DocInfo>
    <Body>
    <EntityRef>Entity2</EntityRef>
    </Body>
    </Document>
    Is there a version of something or a pointer or a wrong package or something that I should be looking for? It's acting almost as though the functionality is stubbed out or not casting right or something.
    Here's an even odder deal:
    SQL> set long 100000
    SQL> select updateXML(
    2 xmltype('
    3 <Document>
    4 <DocInfo>
    5 <EntityRef>EntityName</EntityRef>
    6 </DocInfo>
    7 <Body>
    8 <EntityRef>Entity2</EntityRef>
    9 </Body>

  • ParserConfigurationException with javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory

    Like many people, I am trying to just read in the contents of a XML file. My code compiles in WS studio and I publish it to the server. However, I keep getting a ParserConfigurationException when I try to get a DocumentBuilder from the factory. Below is my code:
    DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    try {
    DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document document = builder.parse( new File(XMLFILE) );
    Any idea why?

  • Javax.xml.parsers Parser Failes at URGENT..URGENT.

    Hai,
    I am using JAVA PARSER to parse my xml file. My XML file is :
    <QUERY>SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE EMP_DATE > 18/10/2000</QUERY>.
    My Sample Code is:
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilderFactory;
    import javax.xml.parsers.DocumentBuilder;
    import org.w3c.dom.Document;
    import org.w3c.dom.Element;
    import org.w3c.dom.DOMException;
    factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
    fistream = new FileInputStream(fileName);
    document = builder.parse(fistream);
    e=document.getDocumentElement();
    curElm = (Element)nodeList.item(0);
    return_Value =((Text)curElm.getFirstChild()).getData().trim();
    Giving wrong output:
    SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE EMP_DATE
    Activally, I had to get
    SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE EMP_DATE > 18/10/2000.
    I do not know what's went wrong ?
    Please help me. It is very urgent to my project.
    Thanks a lot

    hi,
    <, >, &, " and ' are XML control characters and do not belong to the data an XML document reflects. if you want to use these special characters, try a different notation, i.e. < > & " or &apos; as in
    <element>this is an <element> tag</element>
    sincerely, Michael
