TX2 1020ea Laptop ZIF Connector - How Does It Open?

Hi,
I have a HP Touchsmart TX2 1020ea laptop which is currently in pieces. I've stripped everything down as per the HP service manual but am having trouble with a ZIF connector that connects the audio board housing the earphone and microphone sockets to the motherboard. HP refer to it as a ZIF but is not like the traditional type with the bar that presses down on the cable. All the other ZIF connectors in the PC have opened with no problem. The one I'm having problems with is different in that in addition to the cable going into the connector, there is also a plastic tag sticking out. There is no easily identifiable moving part to the ZIF. Now, tempting as it may be to use the plastic tab as a grip just to pull out the cable, I also need to be able to reinsert it when putting the PC back together.
So does anybody know how this particular ZIF works please? Some photos are attached.
Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I have been tempted to do that but figured that it would be difficult to re-insert on reassembly.Any advice?  Any ideas why HP would have one different connector design compared to the other ones in the PC?
Thanks.

How does one open an Icloud Account?

You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  You do this by going to Settings>iCloud (on an iOS device) or System Preferences>iCloud (on a Mac) and signing in with your Apple ID.
Once you create your account you will then be able to sign into the account using the ID on your PC.

  • Outlook connector - how can I open other users calendars at startup?

    Hello!
How can I open a list of other users calendars at startup (outlook with Oracle outlook connector software installed)?
    Is it possible?
    Regards,
    Konstantin.

    Question:
Were you able to solve this issue? I too would like to have the ability to automatically open other users' calendar when Outlook loads.
I did find one unreliable workaround is this; I am able to add a link of the other users' calendar on the shortcut bar. This way, when a user logs on, s/he can click on the link to get to other's calendars.
However, I say its unreliable because every once in a while, I get the error message "Unable to display the folder. Microsoft Outlook could not access the specified folder location. The entry Id passed in does not refer to a valid object."
To resolve this, I must go back to files -> open -> Other user's folders. Open the calendar before it works agin.

  • Laptop vs. tower: how does it effect output to HD projectors

i'm working with our video production crew and deciding between getting a new laptop or tower. i want the laptop, they want the tower. they want the video card and output features of the tower, i want the portability and convenience of the laptop. we do shows all over the world. how can we get the best resolution from the laptop? does hooking it up to a cinema 23 HD diplay help? does closing the laptop when it's hooked up help? should we update the video card in the laptop? how can i justify getting the laptop.
(we mostly run keynote/quicktime files for the shows to dual HD projectors on 3:1 screens. usually 3000 pixels wide)
macbook pro   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

Laptops and towers both use DVI connectors (except for the iBook).
The iBooks only had display mirroring, so the external display was the same as the laptop screen. The PowerBooks, MacBooks, and MacBook Pros have extended desktop, so the external display can have a different picture and resolution. Some have dual-link DVI and can display up to 2,560 X 1,600. Those with single-link can display up to 1,920 X 1,200. I don't know of a Mac laptop or tower that can display the 3,000 pixels you mentioned in your post.

  • How does one open a technical support ticket?

Everything keeps pointing me away from actually contacting a person or Verizon.   I've had them for 15 years, this may be the first technical issue I need to contact them about, making it hard.
Here's what I want to say, and I don't have all day -- or maybe I do, since I surely cannot work with the IP changing all the time:
I want to report a service problem.  I am traveling, and did not notice this problem last week – but it either started Friday, this weekend, or today (Monday) … I have a prepaid 4620L mifi which is the primary use device, but I am also seeing this same behavior on my phone.
I am a network engineer, so I’ll explain the issue technically…   Initially my connection was stable in this location (multiple days), and has been in prior locations, but I started to notice a large number of reset connections (work VPN being one).  I noticed my TCP sessions were dropping, which prompted me to realize my public IP is changing quite often.  4 IP’s just in the last 30 minutes.  This doesn’t seem right – would explain the TCP sessions dropping, which wasn’t happening before (or much less frequently).  IF this is expected or normal (is it part of a CGN config?  I am not familiar with the workings of CGN), I am curious as to the change in frequency.  It’s causing problems, so I suspect there is an issue.
IP’s I’ve gone through this hour:
    75.208.33.67
    75.208.114.224
    75.210.110.178
    75.210.6.76
    75.210.11.41

I tried, been on the phone for hours.  Long story short, it wasn't helping.  My prepaid account is on a resellers account for the first 90 days, until I transfer it.  My contract phone is my only call method from this location, and in general, which was in issue with doing remote diagnostics and testing, etc.
The other part is my voice service is spotty, it's very common to get dropped calls if I am talking for more than 15 minutes or so.  I'm just speculating, but literally - when the wind blows, I seem to have more issues in general.
I'm thinking there is a tower issue, my WWAN logs clearly show I am constantly getting disconnected, but I reconnect right away.  My signal level is ok, not great, but good enough.
Anyway, the real point of my post -- I really want a method to communicate and open a ticket / report my issue electronically. The voice thing just isn't working well in this case.  I had no luck with chat either, but the other challenge there was just getting to the right person -- all questions and methods tried to direct me away from a person, and then I even got to the wrong group , to sales twice.
I am in zip code 93105.  The issue started on Friday 04/25 at about 7:20 PM PDT.... which, maybe only coincidentally, there was very high winds that night and into the next day, and today also.

  • How does one open something in a new window rather than a new tab, when browsing?

I much prefer how this used to be before I upgraded to the latest iOS, in this sense.
I do not like dealing with multiple tabs; there are times that a new window is just needed.
I am assuming that it is possible to open new windows and I just haven't figured it out yet.
Thanks for any and all help!

    Thank you for your comments.
Truthfully, I am shocked that this is the case and even more so that people didn't put up such a stink that Apple had to reinstate the old option. If I had to pick only one, which doesn't seem reasonable at all, I would choose the separate windows of old as opposed to the tabs.
Thanks again for your help; I was really hoping that I wouldn't be disappointed.

  • How does thunderbird open a http-link within a browser?

I often get mails with http-links. On my previous system I could click on the link and the browser window opened showing the web page.
If I click on a link on my thunderbird nothing happens. I am sure it is possible to configure thunderbird to open http-links in the default browser on the system. However I have not found the possibility to configure thunderbird in that way.
Can anybody give me a hint on how to do it?
    Thanks.

i d'ont use it since long now but it has always been a poor trick in a lost config confile, not possible from the gui itself.
wiki/google/forum search will sure give it to you.

    oh..seems it's possible from thunderbird itself..so easy..
this is totally unbelievable, how could the devs let that like this..oh moz devs of course, not ours
otherwise i've discover clawsmail a few weeks ago, very good, at least for me, and kmail when i was a kde addict

  • How does one open a JFrame from a JSP or servlet?

    Hi,
I have a fairly complex Java app that includes a JFrame that I want to integrate into a Web app. Specifically, I want to enable the user to open a dialog window, which is in the form of a JFrame. Can this be done easily? TIA!

I like option 3, but I don't see how to implement it. For example, my app includes a JTree embedded in a JScrollPane, so the Web app needs to be able to register an event handler to detect selections on the tree. How is that done?Depends on your choice of web framework. JSF is extensible with richfaces which has a tree control among other controls.
GWT would allow you to write Swing like code complete with listeners e.t.c.
You should preview and compare a few of them before selecting one. This should be an easy exercise since you already know what the application needs are.

  • Jdev Extension: How does one open up a file in the editor?

I would like to be able to open a file(Java file) and highlight a certain line on it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Actually this is what I learned from poking around in the API: There is a util class, oracle.ide.editor.EditorUtil. Various functions in this class allow you to open a file in it's default editor.
There is also a class, oracle.ide.model.Element, which represents a resource in JDeveloper. A workspace, project, and java files are all Elements.
Ide.getWorkspaces() returns you the root of the workbench. Element defines getChildren(). By iterating through each getChildren(), you eventually can get down to an element that represents the java files in your workspaces. Thus you'll have a handle to java elements, which you can open in the editor, by using EditorUtil.openDefaultEditorInFrame(Element)

There are a few components I would like to see the contents of; but, not being a programmer, I would like to read their contents in plain English. Are there any programs that can do this? Thanks.

    Thanks for your reply, BDAqua.
I'm looking to open components, such as the 'Buffer' in Intego's NetBarrier. The key here is that I'm trying to find a program that'll translate 'code' into plain English; I used to have such a program for OS9.

  • How do you open a port in OSX's firewall?

    Hello,
I'm trying to figure out how to open a port in OSX's firewall. I'm trying to use Bits on Wheels or Bit Torrent to download show's from Revision3.com (they distribute their shows via bitorrent). I'm not getting very much speed in downloading my files, which typically means that I'm not uploading as fast as I should. I searched this problem and everything I've read says that I need to open a range of ports in my firewall.
I have a DSL connection which does not use a router, just a direct connection to a DSL modem. Therefore I'm only using the software firewall from MacOSX 10.4.10.
So how does one open a range of ports?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    system prefs-->sharing--> firewall tab.

My co-worker has given me his iPod to take home and transfer his music to my laptop, however, I am unable to access his music to download it to my computer.  How does this work?

You need to transfer the iTunes Library from the most recent backup you made before the hard drive was replaced.
You can't transfer the full iTunes Library from the iPad back to iTunes.
There are third-party Windows applications that will transfer data from an iOS device, but they don't re-create the iTunes Library exactly as it was before.
