Type Linkage Active in Workflow

Hi guys,
When the Type Linkage Active column in SWETYPV is not checked, what does it mean?
What does that column represents?

The Transaction SWETYPV is used to link the workflow to the event...
This transaction is very sensitive.. If by mistake if any changes happens then might be workflow get struck and its very difficult to rectify the problem

Hi Experts,
Im a bit confused with business objects (swo1) and event type linkages(swetypv). Ive learned that business objects are used to trigger events and so how does event type linkages related to business object? Do I need to create business object or should I just search/look for the appropriate object needed?Please kindly explain to me the process or steps in using business object and event type linkages in related with idocs.

Hi,
Business objects neednot have to be created if your are fine with the standard method they have used in or the events yre available for you. If you need to cusomize it then you have to copy it to a subtype. Then do your modifications in it. Event type linkages are used to say which event is active for a Workflow. And if you want to trigger a Workflow based on certain conditions then you have to use either this or Start of Condition. The Error handling of workflow is also handled by Event Type Linkage. So whenvever you create a event linkage for a workflow you get an entry in Event Type Linkage.

Event type linkage automatically deactivated - Urgent help

Hi,
I activated the Event type linkage for a PR approval Workflow template (a copy of WS00000038) using t-code SWETYPV, however the Event type linkage got automatically deactivated by the system. I have try to activate again for few times, same thing happen got deactivate automatically, any one have encounter this problem before, please help - Urgent.

The mandatory Import parameter might be missing in event container. Event will be deactivated automatically because of these type of errors .
Please check if you are passing all mandatory import parameters.

Event Linkage for custom Workflow and Custom BO

Hi Friends,
I have created one Custom Module Pool, Business Object and Workflow Definition. In Business Object I have created one Business Event and the event is triggered from Custom Module Pool using function module SWE_EVENT_CREATE. I have created event linkage in transaction SWETYPV and receiver type given Workflow Template No: (WS*) and receiver function Module SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT_IBF and checked Event Linkage Active checkbox. Finally I have activated the Triggering Event in the Workflow basic data section. But the Workflow is not getting triggered. Can anyone of you give me a solution for this or tell whether i missed any of the setting for the workflow?

Event Type linkage and settings of Event Administration Queue

Hi friends,
I have a scenario where there is an event linkage activated for a business object event, when i have checked the details of this type linkage then i found that
1 - ENABLE EVENT QUEUE check box is not clicked.
2 - BehaviorUpon Error Feedbak was set as System presetting.....
And In Event Administration Queue>BasicData>ReceiverErrorFeedback = DeactivationOfLinkage
So here my doubt is will the System deactivate the linkage if any error ll occur even if
ENABLE EVENT QUEUE check box is not clicked ?

Event Type Linkages - No receiver type

We had an issue in our production server where users's were getting the "ambiguous workflow" error. We found the culprit to be an additional entry in the Event Type Linkages (SWE2) that had NO recever type. After we opened up the client, and removed the entry, the error went away.
I know it's possible to enter a new entry in this table despite the erorr requiring the receiver type. However, since this is a production box, access to data is extremely locked down, and there is not a way to directly modify this transaction.
Any ideas how this additional entry could have appeared?

Did you guys move any workflows from test/quality system to the production system? Usually, when we create starting events in workflows (using SWDD or PFTC), Event type linkages gets a new record and a transport gets created for the same. So it may have happened that a transport could have moved to Production with those changes.

Error during Activation of Workflow

Hi Workflow Experts ,
I have an error while activating the workflow.
The error is "Subsequent node not found " for Process control task for function "Complete workflow " at the end of the workflow block.
Please let me know how to resolve the error and activate the workflow.

SM37 is mainly for monitoring the back ground jobs...... both in R/3 side and BW side this is same.. just for monitoring the background jobs... fisrt by using SM36 basis people will schedule in background.. and we just identify.. which are completed and which are not completed... in SM37.
there are various status they are
PLANNED
RELEASED
CANCELLED
ACTIVE
FINISHED
READY

In Sm37 u can see the different options for background jobs, like Scheduled, released, ready,active, finished, canceled.. If u want to know the Status of the current running job, U just type the job name, user name then click execute(F8).

Event type linkage through SWETYPV

Hi All,
       I have query, in the event type linkage (SWETYPV), if the receiver type is other than the standard task or the workflow template, then how it can be used? Like in one of the standard settings
Object Type: BUS2005 ,Event: DELETED, Receiver Type: SUBSCRIBE, ..
I wanted to know how this Receiver type(SUBSCRIBE) is linked with the event and the sub sequent receiver function module. Please help.

Event Type Linkages: Status "1 errors"

Hi,
we got an error in Event type linkages. One event type is on error and it can't be manually switched back to "No errors" because it's not modifiable.
The error occurs all of the sudden, the workflow could be triggered properly before.
Did anyone got an idea of what I can do?
The BOR type and event seems to be okay. The workflow too. Only the event background job wasn't running, but I restarted him.
Anyway I got this error.

Hi,
with event job, you mean the event queue? this job isn't used that much anymore only in specific cases does it serve a purpose.
What you can do is go to transaction SWEQADM to see which events are in error, also check there who the workflow administrator is. This person/position/whatever should've received a message about the event being stopped.
To fix it you could activate the event-->wf linkage in a transport and import that in production, or in severe cases ask basis / authorization to open the production client for changesand reactivate the linkage. But only do that when you have found out the cause.
There is probably a valid reason why you want to stop the workflow whenever an error occurs in the event.

Find out type of activity in process flow

I am currently working on generating process flows. I place a bunch of mappings or sub process flows (sometimes more than 20) in a process flow. Then I connect them basically to indicate the order in which they have to be processed.
Next I want to generate the succes, warning and error transitions. I can easily list the activities in the process flow using
OMBRETRIEVE PROCESS_FLOW 'SOME_FLOW' GET ACTIVITIES
likewise I can easily retrieve the transitions.
My main problem now is that I cannot find where to start.
I know a process flow is created default with a START1 activity but the name can be changed, so that is not a fool proof option. I have been looking for something like
OMBRETRIEVE PROCESS_FLOW 'SOME_FLOW' ACTIVITY 'START1' GET PROPERTIES (ACTIVITY_TYPE)
But the property apparently does not exist.
If I do
OMBDESCRIBE CLASS_DEFINITION 'PROCESS_FLOW' GET CHILD_TYPES
I see a START_ACTIVITY child type is listed. Now I am looking for a way to connect the child type to the activity

After posting the question on the forum I remembered I had made lists of activities for various activity types, in my case MAPPINGS and SUBPROCESSES. So I tried the same for START activities, just like you apparently have done. And with the same conclusion; there is not a complete list of activity types you can use.
I also noticed there is no START activity in the Palette of the Process Flow editor. And that you cannot delete a start activity (API-10011 You cannot delete this type of activity). Apparently a start activity is a special case of activity. And I think I will treat it this way. I will assume no one in his right mind will rename this activity from it's default 'START1' name and start my exploration of the flow in the process there.

Activity Confirmation workflow

Dear Experts,
I am using BO AFVC_NETW for network activity confirmation workflow. The start events of workflow are confirmed, partially confirmed, manually confirmed. I made a zcopy of the BO AFVC_NETW and added these 3 events and delegated the Zbusiness object. Once the wf triggers i have user decision step assigned to first level approver. If he approves it then i have one more user decision step. if second level approver also approves it i complete the workflow.
When I confirm the activity using tcode CJ20N two events of my wf are getting triggered which i saw in SWEL.
I expect to get only one workitem for first level approver. But i am getting 2 workitems instead of one. Can you please tell me why i am getting more than work item. Am i getting 2 workitems due to the reason that two events of my wf are triggered or am i missing something. I have no loop step in my wf.

Hello,
Two events are being created. If they both act as triggers for the workflow, then you will get two workitems.
If you really need both events as starting events then perhaps you should create a start condition that checks if there's already a workflow instance running with the same object key.

I am getting following error in transaction Users_gen.
'The user has no workflow linkage. Configure workflow'.
SAP note says, I need to run transaction BBP_CHECK_USERS and select repair level 2. I followed these instructions but still I am getting this error.
Any idea to resolve this.

Hi Pras,
you can get rid of this message: nothing important.
It just checks that the user has got a WF relationship: i.e. that there is a manager with the red hat in the org unit.
It should be a warning message, raised after a call of RH_GET_LEADING_POSITION during user check (BBPU_CHECK_EBP_USER), that should retrieves the user's manager.
If you display the long text of the error message, you should get:
Short Text
The user & has no workflow linkage. Configure workflow.
Diagnosis
The user has no workflow linkage. The relationship between position (S) and user (US) does not exist.
System response
In workflow configuration (table T77S0) you can set the indicator WFLOW/CRMUS to 'X'.
Procedure
You can set the indicator as follows:
1. Start transaction code SM30
2. Open table T77S0 (Maintain).
3. Create the following new entry:
Group: WFLOW
Semantic ID: CRMUS
4. Activate by setting the indicator to 'X'.
Important: This function is only available from Basis Release 6.1.
If you set an entry in T77S0 with WFLOW/CRMUS --> X, then this control is by-passed.
This control is brought by note 796742:
SRM 3.0 SP10
SRM 4.0 SP05

Event type Linkages (SWE2)

Hi Friends,
I need to know about the 1) Use of "Linkage Activated" checkbox in SWE2 transaction.
2) Whether the "Receiver Function Module" will be called in the same session after successful completion of "Check Function Module" without any exception or it will be called in the same session. The reason y i ask this question is that, when i try to debug the Event create, it is calling the "Check Function Module", but after successful execution, the debugger is not going to "Receiver Function Module". Please explain in detail on this.
