Type of cable quest

what kind of cable do I need to connect my home theater to my Audigy 2 ZS using the digital out? I tried with a Red & White RCA to Stereo jack and it didn't work, I used only one (red or white) to connect it to the hometheater in "digital in". Any help would be appreciated

Hi Prasanna,
The cable that was quoted appears to be Indoor cable :( The word "Riser" indicates this fact. Here is what Cisco recommends;
Ethernet Cable
The Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Outdoor Ethernet Cable is used to connect the access point to the network when a network connection is available, such as when the access point is installed on the roof of a building. The Ethernet cable plugs into the Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Power Injector. Table 4 shows the part number for the Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Outdoor Ethernet Cable.
Table 4. Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Outdoor Ethernet Cable Part Number
AIR-ETH1500-150 =
Cisco Aironet 1500 Series Outdoor Ethernet Cable, 150 ft.

    According to:
    http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/desktop/f/3515/p/19351107/19767627.a spx#19767627
It has DVI ports.  This means you are best to use an adapter that supports DVI.  Note there is no audio that carries over DVI.  What you need is a mini-Displayport to DVI adapter, and the proper DVI cable. Since Dell doesn't have the specs, you'll need to tell us if you have pins or holes, and how many are grouped.

No. Your iMac only has DVI video connection. You would need an iMac with Thunderbolt.

  • What is the type of cable do i need for a macbook white to connect to a hdmi cable?

what is the type of cable do i need for a macbook white to connect to a hdmi cable? This is quite a problem since macbook white is not in production anymore.

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info (and then System Report if you’re running 10.7 Lion or 10.8 Mountain Lion). When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody and the Late 2009 model 6,1 and Mid 2010 model 7,1 White Unibody have a Mini DisplayPort. The Early 2006 model 1,1 through Early 2008 model 4,1s plus the Early and Mid 2009 model 5,2s have Mini-DVI ports. Each would take a different adapter to connect with the TV.

  • For the new airport extreme what type of cable do I need to connect to my cable modem. Is Cat5 OK or will that bottle neck things?

For the new airport extreme what type of cable do I need to connect to my cable modem. Is Cat5 OK or will that bottle neck things?

Assuming that your cable modem has Gigabit Ethernet ports (possible, but it probably does not) Cat 5e or Cct 6 would do the job that you need.
If the cable modem is using a 10/100 Mbps port, then Cat5 will be OK.

  • What type of cable is required to move photos from iPhone 4 to Mavericks iMac?

what type of cable is required to move photos from iphone 4 to imac mavericks?

The Apple cable that shipped with the iPhone - the same cable you use to sync the iPhone with iTunes on your computer, charge the iPhone with your computer and with the included power adaptor.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
With a Mac you can use iPhoto to import photos/videos from the iPhone's Camera Roll, or the Image Capture application as with any other digital camera with both applications included with every Mac.

    Hi,
What type of cable do I have to use to connect a WRT54G router to a cable-modem, straight UTP or cross UTP?

Normally you would use the standard (straight through) ethernet patch cable.

It was the older type (pre 80s) of cable with an earlier colour coding (CW 1293)
    Here is the colour coding.
The predominate wire is the coloured wire ( Blue, Orange, Green,  Brown, Grey) It then has it's associated white wire which, if you carefully strip of the outer insulation of the overal cable you will see that this pair (Blue/white) is twisted together.

  • I have a new Mac with usb 3.0 ports. What type of cable do I use for an old usb 1 printer

I have a new IMac with usb 3 ports. What type of cable do I use for conncting on older usb 1 device?

AFAIK, use the USB 3.0 port to the printer. It should be backward compatible. If not, return the useless computer or get a new printer.

  • What Type Of Cable Is this???

Ok this cable comes into my house through the attic, and goes down into the wall to a junction box that connects to the standard type phone cable, but it was filled in with bonding and smoothed over so I am not digging it out again. It seems to have 12 wires in it and the colour coding is different?? Any ideas what this cable is and what wires I need to connect to the standard cable again?

  • What type of cable do I need to connect my mac to the TV.

I have a Dynex tv and a newish 15 inch Macbook Pro. I also already have an HDMI cable that fits into the TV so I just need to know what to get to connect the HDMI cable to the macbook.

You would  connect the MacBook using a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. Here's the various types of Mini DisplayPort adapters on Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=min i-dvi&x=9&y=13#/ref=nb_sb_ss_sc_2_16?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=mini+ displayport&sprefix=mini+displayport&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Amini+displayport
If it's a post 2010 MacBook Pro it will carry audio through the Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter. If it's an earlier than Mid 2010 MacBook pro then it can't send audio through the adapter.

  • USB Cable Quest

Im thinking of getting an additional USB cable for my Zen Touch 20GB so I can keep it at work.
I know its a USB2 a-b cable and that one of the connectors is full size and the other is mini. Does anyone know whether its a 4-pin mini or a 5-pin mini? It looks like 5-pin to me but thought id best check (Belkin's site has both 4-pin and 5-pin on it)
Also, theres a great PC store called cclonline but they advertise usb2 a-b FLASH cables..... is this the same thing I wonder?
    Help appreciated.
    Thanks
    Alex (BobSpoons)

Thanks RMskater but there are 2 different types of USB A mini-B cable. Those being a 4-pin variant and a 5-pin variant. Im just not sure which it is. Looks like a 5 but Im not certain.
Im half guessing that the USB2 A-B Flash cables may be a nick-name for the cable we use for the creative players but Im not certain, its just a hunch so I wondered if anyone knew.
Thanks for the reply and any others would also be welcome
    Cheers
    Alex

My HP Officejet Wireless 6500 says it is not connected.  I have attempted to connect it but when I try to enter the network key or password the keyboard only enters letters not numbers.  How do I switch to numbers?  I can pick the network but not enter passcode .   When I try it locks up and can not be shut off.  I have tried both having the printer connect by cable to computer and not connected.  It prints fine but I can not find the ink levels since it says it is not connected to computer.  Which should I do connect it by cable or not?  I am using a pc not a notebook.
