Type persian in pages

how con i use persian fonts and layout in pages's software? i dont like to use any software at microsoft company. i just want to use iwork for daily work. if somebody could help me. i would be thankful.

Pages has various bugs that make it unsuitable for Persian. Instead you should use Mellel (the best) or TextEdit, Nisus Writer, or Open/Neo/LibreOffice. Microsoft Word for Mac does not support Persian at all, so you don't need to worry about using that.
To type Persian, go to system preferences/language & text/input sources and check the box for the keyboard you want, plus the box for Show Input Menu in Menu Bar, plus the box for Keyboard Viewer. Then select Persian in the "flag" menu at the top right of the screen and type. To see which key does what, select Keyboard Viewer in the "flag" menu.

Why can't I type in a page number for a link anymore?

I had version 6 and I could select an area to be a link, then pick the go to page option, then type in a page number by hand.
Now, with version 8, I pick "go to a page view", then physically go to the page, then click "set link". What happened to typing in a page number by hand?

That work-around came close. For some reason it brought me to page 13 instead of 12. But I'm looking for something as easy as it was in version 6 where you don't have to program in javascript. I suspect most people don't know how to program in javascript or anything anyway. All Adobe really had to do was NOT remove an option.
Does anyone know a work-around that might be close to the simplicity(or easier) of version 6 for putting in a page number for a link (as you're creating the link from scratch) rather than having to go find the page? Or did I actually downgrade by buying version 8?

despite the workaround, it doesn't fix the real problem. It shouldn't be a huge deal for adobe to add support for multiple svn versions. Dreamweaver is the first tool i've used that works with svn that doesn't support several types of svn meta data. If they're going to claim that Dreamweaver supports svn is should actually support svn, the current version, not a version several years old. This should have been among the first patches released, or at least after snow leopard came out (and packaged with it the current version of svn).

You haven't mentioned any steps you might have tried to correct this so I'll suggest you try the first troubleshooting step. Reset your iPhone. Press and hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Then release the buttons and let the device restart. No data will be lost doing this. It's like rebooting a computer.

Using Long Data type in the Page

Hi ,
I have a page (in multiple page creation form ) which is suppose to contain only the NOTES field of the entity being created . The Notes field is defined as LONG data type in the table.
Two Doubts.
1. As of now in Jdev , u only have Varchar2 data type when assigning to any messageText layout item. What should be the max value set for Max Lenght of this field on the form . I suppose its 32k+ ,since its Long Field .
Anybody has used Long notes field before ??
2. This page has only one item on it , ie Notes ,which i have defined as messageRichText as style. I have been trying to resize this item ,so that it stretches out on entire page . But it just doesnt resizes .. any idea ..below is my PG.xml code

"Search Result Types" Error on page view

When visiting "Search Result Types"
under Site Collection Administration on a few of my site collections I get an error. This only happens on some of the site collections and I can't pin down why its occurring. I've tried disabling "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" and
deleting the Relationship list then turning the infrastructure feature back on with not luck.

When visiting "Search Result Types" under Site Collection Administration on a few of my site collections I get an error. This only happens on some of the site collections and I can't pin down why its occurring. I've tried disabling "SharePoint
Server Publishing Infrastructure" and deleting the Relationship list then turning the infrastructure feature back on with not luck.

Can't See New Type on My Page

I'm having trouble with DW5.5 on Mac OS 10.6.8. I'm trying to update my resume and when I type in my new info, "Is This How I Look?" I can't see it on my design page, but it shows up on the code page. Here is the code from the top of the page and following is the line of code with the new copy in it. I noticed that all of the copy in the resume in Bold Ital does not show up on my Design View, but does in Code View and on the site. When I created this site, I used CSS and assigned a style to all text. Now, when I put in an insertion point in my text in Design View I can see the assigned style. But I cannot select just one word or a phrase, the entire line of copy is selected when I click and drag. And when I am forced to select the entire line of copy, no CSS style shows up then.
Here is a screen shot showing the missing copy in Design View. If you compare that to the website, you will see that all the Bold Ital heads are missing.
Not sure if this is a CSS issue, or an upgrade issue, or old code from CS2 messing it up. Thanks SO much for helping me out. Looking forward to getting this figured out.

Get the type of a Page Item

Hey guys,
i am working on an inDesign extension. i have a requirement to go through the document elements. i was able to get all pageItem objects on a doc page.
i am now trying to figure out what is the type of each pageItem so i am using the following code that i found in here:

instead all items are returning: com.adobe.indesign::PageItem
any idea what i am doing wrong here?

Cannot make type black in Pages

As I type it is invisible as type comes up white - will only change to aqua

So you purchased and DLed the App Store version of Pages?
Are you sure you have opened the right one?
They can both be on your Mac in the Applications folder, so just double clicking a Pages file may open the wrong one.

How to type persian in iWeb!

Hi guys
I just got my .Mac acount and now it's time to make a website on iWeb!!!
I can do most of the things but I am really stuck about how to type in persian in iweb!!! I have had search and that's what I found:

As with any other language, you first go to system prefs/international/input menu and check the box for Persian, plus the box for "show input menu in finder." Then in the "flag" menu at the top right of the Finder you select Persian. Then you type. Set the font to Geeza Pro.
I think iWeb has some bugs when you try to use RTL scripts. You may find it easier to write in TextEdit and copy/paste from there.

I cant simply type text in Pages ?

Seems crazy, but I cant do the simplest task of type text. On the bottom of the screen it does recognize that iv pressed keys, but I cant see them on the screen. Looked at the help and I cant find anything that tells me how to do it. Iv even re-installed the program.

Apply all the software updates to iWork and apply the most recent Combo Update for 10.6.3; then you will know that the problem is not likely to be related to the OSX/iWork compatibility bug that has been discussed many times here. Also make sure that you are starting with the blank Word Processing template, not the Page Layout template.
If you aren't sure what the difference is between the blank Word Processing template and the blank Page Layout template, then it's time to brew a pot of tea, get comfortable and read the Pages User Guide PDF that can be downloaded from the Help menu.
