Type reflowing when converting from CS2 to CS3
We have just converted a lot of our machines over to CS3 but have noticed that some of the type is reflowing differently to our files in CS2, has anyone else come across this.
I have just noticed that it is the kerning that is causing the problem, kerning is set to Auto in CS2 which has given me a value of 0 between two of the characters but in CS3 the value is now -150 (auto), font i am using is Guia Script Pro which is opentype.

Text reflow when converting from rgb spot color to process black
The setup that I'm using is a G5 Mac OSX, version 10.4.11. The InDesign application is CS3, version 5.0.3. The fonts are loaded into Extensis Font Reserve, server 1.7.4. The InDesign document has a text box using 2 different font sets. One set, Helvetica Neue, uses the rgb spot color. The other one, a mixed set of New Century Schoolbook, is used for a paragraph which is process black. When deleting the rgb spot color from the swatches and converting it to process black, the New Century Schoolbook reflows which had already been process black.
If I just select the Helvetica Neue type and change that line to process black there is no reflow problem.
When I tried this document on another Mac with the same set up there was no reflow. Is this an InDesign preference problem? ThanksIf you change the color back and then back again, do you get more reflows?
The reason I ask is that when InDesign opens a document, it holds the existing composition of stories until you apply any edit. So, it could be that what you're seeing here is that yours and your user's setups are different enough that reflow is inevitable the moment you edit the text, and changing the color counts as editing.

Order type selection when converting from planned order to prod order
Hello friends,
I have one doubt.That when i am converting the planned order to the production order than from which default settings it takes the order type.
As we can maintain the default order type in OPPQ , under conversion and in production scheduling profile also we maintain order type for make to stock, make to order, etc.
So my question is to which setting the system gives the priority.
Or they both are for different purpose.

Default PR Type when convert from Planned Order

How can I default my PR Type when convert from Planned Order after MRP run. This can done via MRP Group control but how to go about controlling via Planned Order profile?
Which planned object type and planned order profile to be used? assuming that i need my planned to be output at LA type and convert to NB1 PR type instead of the default NB PR type?

The system determines the document type from the stettings u are making in "planned order Profile" in Customising for MRP. There u define the order type, the procurement key and the special procurement key and also the account assignment category. So based on the procurement key and the special procurement key maintained in the Marterial master, the document type is selected.
Production > Materials Requirement Planning > Procurement Proposals > Planned Order > Define order profile
Choose the planned order type - NB1 Within this you specify the P req doc type to be used.
Through MRP group and the different PR document type for MRP generated PR is possible only if you assign the document type to MRP group in the MRP configuration.

Upgrade Photoshop from CS2 to CS3 in Macintosh
I am currently using Photoshop CS2 Mac version and DO NOT have CS3 beta version installed. I have couple installation questions whose answers are hard to find anywhere else, hope I can find them from this forum.
Since I heard a lot of troubles regarding upgrading PS from CS2 to CS3 if there is CS3 beta version already installed in Mac, I am a little be nervous. Here is my questions:
1. Can CS2 and CS3 co-exist?
2. Do I have to manually uninstalled CS2 prior to upgrading? If yes, how do I do it? I am assuming that CS3 upgrade should have a program to uninstall previous versions of PS, am I correct?
3. How do I deal with my current registration?
4. I have third-party plug-ins such as OnOne Mask Pro 4.0, nik Color Efex Pro 2.0 installed in CS2. What's the right procedure I should take to avoid their re-installation?
5. I also have Lightroom installed now, will CS3 upgrade affect it? Do I need to take any action?

Welcome to the Macintosh. Glad the transition has worked well for you. A few quick points, here:
1. Download the combo update to Mac OS X 10.4.11 from the Apple site.
2. Any software that came from the previous owner must be Apple software that is included with the operating system; or, if other Apple or third party software (including Adobe or Microsoft), it must have a valid license that has been transfered to your name and you must have all discs. Otherwise, it must be deleted in order for you to be legal.
3. The best current utilities for maintaining and optimizing your computer include: Apple's own Disk Utility (on your Mac OS system disc); Alsoft DiskWarrior; and Maintain Cocktail. Other very good tools include: Roxio Toast (for disc burning); SuperDuper! (for complete system backups); and FontAgentPro (for organizing and maintaining large numbers of fonts). Whether you just print family snapshots or you do four-color commercial printing, you need to calibrate your monitor. Look into the Spyder3 or EyeOne calibrators.
Also note that it is important to repair permissions and run DiskWarrior when you install or upgrade any software on your system. As the specifics of these have been detailed numerous times in this forum, I recommend that you do a forum search for the details.
4. If you already have installed CS2, then you only need to purchase the upgrade version of CS3.

Upgrade from CS2 to CS3? (for Windows XP)
Hi, guys. I'm new here. And I only signed up for the forums so I could ask someone for help!! Haha! So, here goes......
I recently started using Adobe CS2.
I signed up for the 30 day trial of RadLab by Totally Rad. It worked fine, but my trial expired before I could finish the photos I had been editing. So I uninstalled the RadLab trial, signed up for a new trial with a different e-mail address, and re-installed it. Only, this time, RadLab wouldn't work. So I contacted Totally Rad and the guy told me that RadLab won't work on CS2. It has to be CS3 or higher. (I'm still confused as to how RadLab worked for 30 days on my CS2 if it supposedly only works on CS3 or higher)...
So, now, I am looking to upgrade from CS2 to CS3... but I don't know where to look. I tried Google, but nothing seems to match what I'm looking for. I would hate to upgrade all the way up to CS5, because I don't think my PC could handle it. (I've been told that CS5 takes up a lot of room, and I don't think my computer is strong enough to hold it all. My memory capabilities are very limited. Even with CS2, I couldn't open/edit much all at once.)
I say all that, to ask this...
How do I go about upgrading from CS2 to CS3, and it not cost me an arm and a leg? I'm on a super-tight budget ($150 is the absolute highest I'm willing to go). I'm unemployed and money is extremely tight.

I don't want to burst your bubble about using Photoshop CS3, but I would expect any software with good trialware security to not work twice on the same system no matter whether you sign up with a different eMail address. They'd be stupid not to have it work that way.
If you need the software to get your project done, why not actually buy it?
You're no doubt expecting to derive value from your project... Shouldn't the people who worked to create the software you're using derive some value from their work as well?
I can appreciate your being on a budget, but the old saying "if you want to play you have to pay" comes to mind. I'm sorry to be blunt.

Hypertext links are not always preserved from Word to PDF, using Aperçu or Adobe, depending on OS 10 or Lion. Why? This generally works perfectly in Windows. Why are Apple and Adobe unable to correctly handle links when converting from Word to PDF?
Depending on the system version, and Office Word version:
- a pure URL link starting with http or even www sometimes works in PDF, either produced by Aperçu or Adobe, sometimes does not work;
- other kind of links where the text under display is not a URL, never work!
I like everything with Apple computers and software, except PDF generation. Output files are usually bigger in size, and no better quality, than under Windows. Furthermore, it is weird that something as common as hyperlinks does not work correctly!
I related this question with Mac OS X Snow Leopard, but the problem is still there with Mac OS Lion.

If I understand the problem correctly (I’m not sure I do) you would prefer ‘iii’ to be read as “eye eye eye” rather than “three”? The alt text property is the only way that I know of to make this happen. Hope this helps.

Perhaps I am expecting too much from Adobe ExportPDF. The reason I subscribed to this service, for which I pay a yearly fee, was that I need a way to convert scanned and digital documents to Word &/or Excel. I read the link you included but to be candid the more I tried to understand what was written the more confused I got. The process should not be this difficult. Currently I am using a NEAT scanner to create PDF documents of whatever I scan. After I changed the OCR setting on Adobe ExportPDF the output was much better but not to the point it was usable as it was. Information that appears to be lines and columns are sometimes not recognizing two columns and just putting them together in one. Obviously not usable. The other thing it does is bunch numbers that appear in a column that are just a bunch of numbers that I have no way of fixing.
Please let me speak to someone who can help me. Right now I not getting anything of value in my paid subscription. -

That would depend on your work flow. MOV is the generic QuickTime file container and is not related to any particular data compression format. If you perform a simple "Save" or "Save As..." action that merely copies the data in the WAV file to an MOV file, then the data remains unchanged and maintains its original quality. If, on the other hand, your transcode/re-compress the original data to a different compression format, then there is always the potential for some loss in quality. Depending on the codec and/or settings, the potential loss could be inaudible to severe. -

We are converting our application from jsf1.2 to 2.0 and all jsps are being converted to XHTML. Some are trivial while others had very complex scriptlets.
I would like to know what are some of the recommended ways of moving Scriptlet Code to backing bean when converting from JSP -> Facelets.
I have thought about listeners, actionListeners, putting code getXXXX() of the backing bean and then calling #{bean.XXXX} but not sure whats the best way.

Hi Guys,
I'm Working with my PO using MIRO, I don't know why the error occurs. I've used the SAP Version 620 but end up with an error, then used Version 710 and successfuly created the transaction, but I'm stacked with version 620. I'm not allowed to transact it using the Version 710 that's why im looking for a patch or upgrade within 620 that i can use so that it can be solve.
I'm in need of your help guys. I know there someone out there that can help me.

What happened?
Error in ABAP application program.
The current ABAP program "SAPLEINS" had to be terminated because one of the
statements could not be executed.
This is probably due to an error in the ABAP program.
Error analysis
An exception occurred. This exception is dealt with in more detail below
. The exception, which is assigned to the class 'CX_SY_CONVERSION_OVERFLOW',
was neither
caught nor passed along using a RAISING clause, in the procedure
"DISTRIBUTE_ACC_ASSIGN_RE" "(FORM)"
Since the caller of the procedure could not have expected this exception
to occur, the running program was terminated.
The reason for the exception is:
When attempting to convert the value "3.60001e+11",
an overflow occurred.
How to correct the error
The exception must either be prevented, caught within the procedure
"DISTRIBUTE_ACC_ASSIGN_RE"
"(FORM)", or declared in the procedure's RAISING clause.
To prevent the exception, note the following:
If the error occurred in one of your own programs or in an SAP program
that you modified, try to correct it yourself.
You may able to find an interim solution to the problem
in the SAP note system. If you have access to the note system yourself,

Upload maxdb really needed? - Overflow when converting from 32768
hello,
I am facing with a run time error that does not make sense when uploading maxdb database. The error is: "Overflow when converting from 32768".
I am following this configuration tutorial:

Uploading MAXDB is not mandatory. It is needed only when multiple devices need to be installed with MAXDB through setup or software packages, which helps administrator to roll out multiple devices, so that end users will get all the necessary software to install the device.

Grainy Image when converting from PAL to NTSC...
Hi,
I'm using Compressor 2.0.1 to convert a PAL movie to NTSC. I find that the output is extremely Grainy, the blacs are Muddy and the Highlights are colored.
Any suggestions?

RajneshThere are many options when converting from PAL to NTSC with Compressor's Frame Controls panel. Have you tried other settings? Note, however, that the highest quality settings are pretty slow so be prepared for a fairly long wait even on your Power Mac G5.
Otherwise, you might want to try the freeware utility JES Deinterlacer (available on VersionTracker.com). JES Deinterlacer is pretty fast at PAL <-> NTSC conversion and the results are better than you will get with the basic settings in Compressor 2.
