Type shifts color on overlapping images --Urgent, please!

I just got proofs back and on most pages the type is shifting colors on overlapping images. I need some advice real quick. The type layer is on top of the image layer so it's not the usual case of rasterizing. However, here are some of the issues. This job came in Freehand, which had to be imported into Illustrator and from there into Indesign. Most of the type is therefore in outlines (ughh!). In addition, the type is CMYK with K=98.
Is the CMYK type causing the issue?
Is the fact that K is not 100% causing the issue? Would changing K to 100 solve the problem and stop the type from picking up whatever's underneath if indeed that's what's happening)?
There is no transparency in the type, by the way. I double-checked.
Thing is I can't see it on the screen at all. Only in the HP Laser proofs that the service bureau sent. So I can't test it! They say that it's just on the proofs and "not in the file." Is that possible?
Any ideas? Suggestions/advice greatly appreciated.

Yup, it's small, about 12-13 point. Can't pinpoint exactly bc it came in as outlines.
And all of the type is apart from the images. On a separate layer that sits above the images. No overprint. But quite a bit of overlap. Even when the type overlaps non-color, or the white parts (or "paper" color) of the image, it still produces these weird color shifts.
So are you saying this is a printer issue, and, like my service bureau guy says, "it's not in the file" per se?
Mind you, this still has to go to the printer! The service bureau just preps the files and sends proofs prior to the next step.

I have noted color shifts as well and have come to a few observations.
When you are making a .JPG file and you are trying to make a color in that file be the same color as your website's background, you're going to get a lot of failures. Photoshop will add color information in an ICC file in the meta information in the file if you like. That tends to produce actual colors, but they do not fit a web gamut.
The way I generally deal with images that need high quality is that I use the Save for Web and Other Devices exclusively, either ticking on or off the ICC profile for JPEG files and working with what works best. Saving a JPEG with as much information as is possible is usually the best choice but, since JPEG is a "lossy" compression scheme, you are always going to get some issues.
Additionally, the web browser in question will have control over what is displayed as well.
So try playing with the ICC profile in Photoshop's Save for Web And Other Devices and see if you can't get things a little more reliable.

Edited images shift color when printing or transferring to PC platforms

I'm a photographer and I edit my images in Photoshop, Light Room and Capture One. It seems however that lately they shift color to a green tint when I attempt to print them through the Noritsu kiosk systems and more, they do the same when transfered to a PC. I have not experienced this till recently and I wonder if is a softer update issue....
Could anyone advise?

Why is color shifting on a scaling image?

I am building a website with a responsive, one-color SVG logo, and for some reason, the color shifts when the image scales down to a certain size. It seems like the color flips from sRGB to my calibrated monitor setting. And it happens on PNGs as well. And when I change the color of the image. This seems to be a strictly Safari issue. FF and Chrome tested out fine. I tried replicating it on my iMac at work, and, surprise, it doesn't happen. On my Mac Pro, I'm using a Spyder4Pro for color calibration on my Dell Ultrasharp. Am I the only one with this problem? I throw myself at the mercy of the Apple forums!

I'm not sure I've explained the problem very well. The image is switching color profiles in the browser as it's being scaled. It's a fluid image, and every time the image gets down to a specific size, the color profile switches, causing the SVG or PNG to noticably change colors. It looks like an event triggered by a media query, but nothing's set in the CSS.
I've changed how the image is displayed, from embedding it as a background with intrinsic ratio to displaying it explicitly with the <img> tag. I've even embedded different profiles, but nothing seems to stop the change in color. Maybe it's the way Webkit is rendering objects below a certain size? I'm hoping a Webkit specialist out there can help me.
Color management is like alchemy to me, so your article is extremely helpful and very much appreciated, but I'm afraid it doesn't solve why the color changes in the browser without anything to trigger it other than a change in size. :\

IDVD is stripping most color from my images in my slideshow. Please help!

I have received so much help from this forum....
I am running iDVD 7.1.2 and Mavericks 10.9.5.
So I started an iDVD project about 18 months ago on a different computer.
I saved the project to an external HDD so I could move it from an iMac with a bad DVD drive to a MacBook with an awesome superdrive. This has always worked for me.
But I don't think think that information affects my current problem.... just tossing it out there because sometimes information we don't think is relevant is certainly relevant to a knowledgeable person!
Fast forward 18 months or so. I open the project on another computer, but iDVD is stripping all but the brightest colors from the images in my slideshow.
Is this a Mavericks thing?
I have tried, in numerous variations, even to the point of starting a completely new DVD project and dropping the images into the app..... still the same problem: all the images are mostly black and white (or gray tones at best), with the occasional colored brightest elements from the original photo. (It's a cool effect, just not appropriate or desirable for this particular project.)
I have tried the project on different computers, both with opening a new project and with building a new project. It just doesn't matter. The slideshow images lose color. Except, an interesting caveat is that if I pause the playback, click the previous slide button, then play: the image has full color again. But subsequent images are again B&WwC.
I figure it must be something awry with the settings in Wirecast.....

You are aware of the 99 photos per serie limit. And 99 series/chapters limit per DVD disk ( not iDVD but DVD-Standard in general ).

Urgent please/ Window size + avoid saving

Hi I have 2 problems I hope you can help me with urgently
please:
1- I have the attached code in it there is a link(summary)
which once clicked, a new HTML window will open this window is of
the same size as the parent I need to make it smaller and appear in
the center of the parent window. I have played withthe 800X600
dimentios in the code but no use? Any idea
2- In the the new window( which will appear once clicking the
link summary), I need to make the 'save page as' and the 'send
link' in the file menu of the browser dim (inactive) as I do not
the user to save the content of this window ? any idea how to stop
the user from saving the content knowing that the content is a HTML
file that has a .swf file with its control buttons?

It may deter the novice user, but anyone who wants to save
the content can
do so easily. Firefox can be set to show the menu regardless
of the script
telling it not to, or anyone can simply view the source code
and copy the
URL for the popup and paste it into a new window, complete
with menus.
Of course, there are also Firefox extensions that download
any Flash
displayed on a page including in a popup window.
In other words, if you don't want people saving it, don't put
it on the web.

Creating a SSRS report with dynamic overlapping images

I have to create a report with the following requirement:
1: The first page has some hi-res images of 8 different geometric shapes with text in it. The location of the images on the page will be static, however the fill color of image can be either green or grey.E.g. one box can be green for one user , for other it
can be grey etc.
2: Export the report in excel,pdf and word
I am planning to use SSRS for this.
I am planning to create the report with superimposed images, e.g. green palette shape and grey palette shape superimposed on each other .Depending on the selection made by the user, I want to "Send to Back" or "Bring to Front." Can I change
the "Send to Back" or "Bring to Front" properties at runtime depending on parameters passed to the report?
Also, I want the image path to be configurable, so that when business wants to change the text or color of the image, I do not need to redeploy the code. I can just change the image.
how can I create the RDL such that the images are at the proper positions? DO I need to insert a tablix for proper positioning of the image?

As far as I know, overlapping of item does not work in the soft-break renderers like HTML, Word and Excel. However, it is work in hard-break renderers like PDF or TIFF.
In your case, we can insert text box in rectangle to work around the issue. We can insert an image in rectangle and another image insert in a text box. Then, put the text box in the rectangle.
In SSRS, we cannot use parameter to control the location of image. However, we can use go to report action to work around the issue. Please refer to the steps below:
Create two similar report, the difference between two reports is the location of these image.
In the first report, add a text box fill with “Send to Back”.
Add action “go to report” of the text box go to the second report.
In the second report, add a text box fill with “Bring to Front”.
Add action “go to report” of the text box go to the first report.

Color Code is not working, please help

I am using the color code 080808 from adobe photoshop as my background for my template. When i put the JPG file into dreamweaver and try to set the page properties in dreamweaver (background) to 080808 it is putting me at pure black. please help me.080808 is not a pure black its a shade of it. I need a color code that matches 080808 correctly. thanks

I'm not quite sure I understand exactly what you are doing, but I ran into something like this myself. I was creating GIFs in Photoshop -- type on a background color. I then created DW pages. I used the same color code for the background color in PS and again for the background color in DW, but when I inserted the images in the page, they did not match. It turned out that when I created a new file in PS, I was creating it in my default color space, Adobe RGB. I assumed that when Save For Web converted the file to sRGB, the colors would convert perfectly. What I found is that I should have been creating my PS files by starting with a new file in sRGB color space. Once I did that, the background color of my images identically matched the background color of my DW page.

When I am placing graphic/Image, Is there any way to avoid overlap image( the image lie on the top of other image)? When I am placing textframe in the document, textframe has the textwrappreferences to avoid the overlap. Like that is it possible with Image? I have placed my graphic/image inside the textframe/rectangle.

You should understand what happens with the text in a text frame, when it hits the border of a Text Wrapped object. The text itself reflows; yet, it stays inside its own text frame. If the text frame is not large enough to contain the reformatted text, you get the red 'overflow' marker.
Now imagine there is such a thing such as Image Wrap. You import an image and -- as usual -- you want its frame to have exactly the size of the image itself. What happens if you drag this frame over another one? The image inside the image frame should shift, but where to? (As there is no such thing as 'overset image' -- you would need to invent that too!) So, still analogous to our text frame-with-text (where the text frame is usually much larger than actually needed), you would need to make the image frame large enough to have a reasonable space for the image inside it to move around.
You can even try this out right now: cut an image and paste it into a text frame. Set the text leading to Automatic, so the image stays totally inside the text frame. Now drag this frame over another one with text wrap and see what happens to the image.
As this is the Scripting forum, I suppose one could write a javascript that checks whether any image overlaps any other, but having the same javascript solve it automatically seems a bit optimistic.

What is the image mode? Image > Mode - should be set to RGB
Do you have a B&W adjustment layer above the Type layer?

Hi priya,
The requirement that you have stated is not a standard feature in ISA CRM. In order to do the same, you will need to modify the standard ISA code in Java. A common path for the solution would be as follows:
1. Colours
    a. Maintain a text type for Color under the object - PCAT_ITM in Customizing.
    b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search within your new text type as well. (In standard it only searches in Description.
   c. Maintain all shirts colour data in the new type created in step a.
   d. Your requirement will be done!
2. Price
a. Use list prices for your shop and assign the appropriate condition type, acces in your catalog.
b. Modify the standard search of ISA to search on the list prices as well.
c. This too will be done!
3. Accessories - This is very tricky, and will require some exploration. However, here's my opinion,
a. Search for the standard function module, which will return the accessories when provided the product as an input.
b. Modify this function module according to your requirement and ensure that it can be accessed remotely.
c. Modify the JSP as in steps 1b and 2b above to call this new remote-enabled function module.
d. Now you're done!!
The ISA modification part is not so simple, you need a really good guy like "Sateesh Chandra" who'll be able to handle your requirements. This is all I could manage, hope it is some help to you!

How to desaturate (or color edit) an IMAGE?

I have an image imported to Illustrator. Some of JPG files. Now I want to add to my image desaturation 100%.
Scale of gray, you know what I mean.
But I didn't see an option to edit that image.
When I click this: http://prntscr.com/5kpc43 what means "Edit original", my image opens in... Microsoft Paint!
There must be any option to do that in Illustrator. I can't do this in Photoshop because I would have to do all things from the beginning (scale, rotation, position etc).

1. My pictures are opened by graphics explorers, like IrfanView or standard Microsoft Browser. So I can't do that. Because I don't want after that opening my Image files in Photoshop, no. I want to just edit it one time. I think Illustrator should open my image in Photoshop automatically when I select my image in Illustrator and click "edit image", don't you think?
2. I work mostly on Corel Draw. It'a also vector software but there we can change color of rasterized images.
3. Hey, there must be a way to do that in Illustrator. C'mon, this is not a very heavy, complicated thing to do with rasterized image. I want only to DESATURATE it, that's all. I don't beliewe that default Illustrator can't do that simple thing.

5. The most important. I know that I can do it all over again but I place my object in "create clipping mask". And put this very carefully etc. So I want just edit a color (desaturate a little bit). Instead I would have to delete this, desaturate in Photoshop, paste this in Illustrator, then create a clipping mask again etc. And after that I think "hmmm, maybe desaturation is a little to much, let's see how it looks like next time" and I will have to do this all over again! No way, there must be option to do this SIMPLE action in Illustrator without aby plugins.

Overlapping Images Via A Link

It's safe to say that I'm pretty new to Dreamweaver... I know
a little bit, just a heads-up.
I know more Flash than Dreamweaver.
I've got two frames, frame one, frame two. In frame one are
the text links... RedDots, BlueDots, GreenStars, YellowStars. Each
of these text links links to an image coresponding to its name. In
frame two is the image (a white circle for arguments sake) that
will change. I've easily gotten the text links changing the image
in frame two, you click on RedDots and the image in frame two
changes to the RedDots image, you click on BlueDots and the image
in frame two changes to the BlueDots image, etc, etc.
What I want to do is overlap those images as they are clicked
on. So you have the white circle in frame two and when you click on
GreenStars that image is placed over top the white circle in frame
two. Then if you click on YellowStars that image is placed over the
GreenStars which is over top the white circle, etc, for up to 6
overlapping images.
Also, I would need a separate link that will allow the user
to go back one step. If they placed the RedDots over the BlueDots
by mistake and really wanted the GreenStars, they could click this
'go back one' link.
Any help is appreciated!

Setting a specific color on a image transparent

I want to take a image that im drawing in the paint(graphics g) method, and set a certain color on that image transparent. so it blends with the background image properly.
any ideas would be appreciated.
