Type size in the upper menue

How can I increase the type size in the upper menue of photopshop under windows 8/8.1

If you running windows 8 on a new high dpi resolution Laptop or tablet you may need to see if there are updated versions of your application that have updated the user interface to work on high resolution displays. For example Adobe updated the Mac version of Photoshop for high resolution retina displays.  They are working on the PC version Photoshop however it not done.  If you scale up text size using windows desktop scaling font feature too large,  The text use in Photoshop user interface will not fit within the area Adobe allocated for the user interface areas.

I am creating a view from base table using substr() for some fields. The data type size of the column in the view becomes twice the size of the corresponding column in the base table. Example

    SQL> create view temp_view as select substr(name,1,10) name from temp_sat;

  • In iPhoto how do I stop files from auto resizing as they import? I don't want my files reduced to 72. The option to choose size on the export menu not suitable for up sizing, as you can't restore the quality removed?

in iPhoto how do I stop files from auto resizing as they import? I don't want my files reduced to 72. The option to choose size on the export menu not suitable for up sizing, as you can't restore the quality removed.

Short answer: They are not resizing, there is no quality lost. The dpi is only set when you decide what size you're printing at
Longer answer:  Dpi means nothing in the digital world of your computer. There are no "inches" to have "dots per..." Size is measured in pixels. That's the same on your camera. It doesn't take 10 x 8 or 6 x 4 shots. It takes shots measured in megapixels. For instance 4,000 x 3,000 is a 12 megapixel camera.
Using that example, that shot from that camera has 12 million pixels. So that's how many "Dots" there are. To decide the ratio of dots per inch, you now need to decide the "inches" part. And that's printing. Print at 10 x 8 and the dpi will be 4,000/10 or about 400 dpi. At 6 x 4 then it's 4,000/6 or 660 dpi. Work the other way: Print at 300 dpi and the resulting image will be about 13 inches on the longer side.
So, your photo as a fixed number of pixels. Changing the dimensions of the print will vary the dpi, changing the dpi will vary the dimensions of the print.

  • Where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

where is the plug in tab option in the upper menu bar when acrobat pro is installed on a mac

When Acrobat is installed first, it does not have a Plug-ins menu. When you buy extra plug-ins for Acrobat, some plug-ins will add a Plug-ins menu. Some won't - some will add other menus, or buttons, or something else.
    So
    1. Make sure you have purchased the Mac plug-in(s) you need.
    2. Make sure they are installed.
    3. Make sure they are compatible with your version of Acrobat; the Mac is much less forgiving about versions, you need to check carefully.
    4. If the plug-in is compatible and installed perhaps it doesn't add a plug-ins menu.

  • Help with the tiny menu and type size of the UI...

Does anyone know of a way to make the menus and type LARGER in the User Interface? I am using the new indesign CC on a nwer iMac large display. Everything is SO tiny, my eyes really strain to see and read all the menus and tools. Anyway to fix this?
    Thanks!

You can zoom the screen by setting key combinations and trackpad gestures in Mountain Lion's Preferences > Accessibility. In OS X 10.6.x and earlier, IIRC it's in Preferences > Universal Access.

  • Can I change the default text sizes in the Character Menu?

At my last job I used a program called Creator to create the projects for which I now use InDesign.  In Creator there was a section in the Preferences that allowed you to specify what font sizes were in the drop down menu, but I don't see such a setting in InDesign.  Its not a huge deal, but its nice to have, say 20pt in your drop down menu as a type size if you use that particular size a lot, as opposed to typing it in every time.  Does anyone know if there is a way to do this?  Thanks!!

Thanks Bob, I didn't think of that, I suppose that would work.  Basically I would just like to have more text sizes to choose from in the drop down menu, I guess its more an issue of laziness on my part than anything else.  I could make a character style for it, but then I'd probably have 10 different character styles just to change the size of my text when it would be less hassle just to type in the size I need.  I was just looking for a quick fix default option that I was used to having at my old job.

  • Edge - Change font size in the code menu?

This has been a little annoying when trying to work on my edge animate projects. As I am using an old 4:3 ratio as my monitor - I don't have a lot of space on my desktop. Whenever I want to insert or edit code in Edge, the code menu pratically takes up my whole screen.
As you can see the font is still large even when it is on 'small' font size. Is there anywhere to change this or do I have to go digging manually into Edge's files?

    Hi,
Maybe a bit late with this answer.
Hold CTRL while scrolling with the mousewheel.
This will change the font-size too.
    Cheers!

  • Why is "Reduce File Size" in the "File" menu always disabled?

I have a rather large presentation file, about 100Mbyte, and Keynote has become almost impossible to use, because it has become so slow.
Have to wait about 5 seconds for each letter to appear on screen after typing! Almost impossible to use Keynote under these conditions.
So I tried to use "Reduce File Size" to reduce the presentation file size by compressing the images, but "Reduce File Size" is always disabled!
    Anybody else having such problems?
    Gerhard

OK, sounds like memory will be fine, so let's look at some other stuff...
Is it only one particularly keynote presentation that slows up for you, or does keynote behave in the same way even if you start from scratch and create a new presentation?
If it's just the one presentation then there's probably some content (possibly video) within it that KN takes exception to. Sometimes a single problematic slide or piece of content can slow down the whole app.
Is the problematic presentation one that was imported from Powerpoint? If so, import it again and look carefully at the import error/warning logs.
Before you start keynote, start up activity monitor - which will give you an indication of what programs are using all the CPU/memory/disk bandwidth etc. You'll then have an idea of whether it is KN maxing out on CPU or whether anything else is dragging the system down.
Another thing you could try would be to log in to a different user account on your machine (create one if necessary) and then try opening the presentation from within this different account. If this works for you then it suggests a problem with the keynote plist file in your original user account.
I don't know if it'd be acceptable to you, but if you could post a link to your problematic presentation then I could download it and try it out on my normally reliable Keynote on one of my computers. (Make sure that you've ticked the box to embed all media in the presentation)
Hope some of this is helpful,
    Mike.

  • How can one increase or zoom the size of the menu bar tabs/control items? They are tiny at HD resolution.

i have a large monitor and i have it set to high res. This makes everything small. I bring it up with no squint but this does not work on the upper menu/tool bar/control/tabs or their drop down menus, leaving me squinting again. There needs to be a no squint feature for this area of the browser

'''''NoSquint''''' changes only the web page display, not the Firefox user interface.

  • Is it possible to increase the size of the menu bar?

My friend just got a nice new 27" iMac. On such a large display the menu bar disappears into oblivian when you sit far enough back to actually use such a large display. Is it possible to increase the size of the top menu bar? I had a look around at preferences and couldn't find anything.
    Thanks in advance
    SR

In short, no. Just found five or six threads asking this. Here's one.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2602785?threadID=2602785&tstart=45#12374829
And, zooming the screen is a non-starter, because when you do that the menubar disappears entirely.

  • Xperia S upper menu rolls down without touching the screen

Hello all! I have a Xperia S with the lastet firmware. The error is the following: the upper menu, where there is a sound, wifi icon, date, etc, rolls down without touching the screen. If i touch the screen for texting for example, the upper menu rolls down and i cannot keep texting. I have to touch the power button to block the screen, and touch it again to enable the screen. Is then when i can roll up the menu y try to use the phone. I can do this for a short time because the menu goes crazy again. From Sony Care told me that i can repair it by using The Repair Phone/Tablet option from the Sony Companion software(lastest version). It hasn't repaired my phone. I'm really concerned about, what else can i do? It is a software issue or a hardware one? Thanks for your time! Greetings!

Hello Quester, Regarding the cover, it has one, but i removed it when the issue appeared for the first time. It has factory cover only.Hmmm, i'm really concerned about it. I don't want to believe that is a hardware issue, but maybe it is. I've tried to make a downgrade of the firmware. Once, it worked and the issue disappeared but after a couple, and while i was installing some apps, the issue appeared again. I was thinking that may be an app could cause the issue but after applying the repair tool from Sony Companion, the issue remains and the phone is cleared, without any 3rd apps.  Thanks and Regards,Pat.

  • Finder Window Type Size

I have a client who wants to increase the size of the type in Finder Windows.... NOT the icon type size on the desktop....
    is this possible?

This is a standard preference setting.
From the Finder, go to the View menu, then *Show View Options* or hit Apple-J
Each view type (Icon, List, Column) has a text size setting.
If this doesn't give you enough of a size-boost, you can choose any size you want with a little editing of preference lists: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20080402181745803

  • Help with the help menu

I´m a big fan of the help menu function. I use it all the time in all the Adobe applications.
Suddenly, it just stop working in InDesign. The others still work.
The way it´s supposed to work is that if you know the name of a command but not the keyboard shortcut or where the command is located – you start typing the name of the command in the help menu. If you type "convert to" the help menu suggest "convert to profile" and others. If you click a suggestion InDesign should execute the command.
That was before. Now it just plays the system error sound and does nothing.
Does anyone have a tip for me on how to get my beloved help menu back on track?
    Cheers

  • Type size for Palm Desktop

Why is the newest version of Palm's Desktop software for Windows XP & Vista have such small type size?  It's at least 2 pts. smaller than my older version and very hard to read.  Is there a setting somewhere that I can't find which allows users to customize the type size in the Desktop?

Using "regedit" I was able to change the font size larger for use with the Palm Desktop software.
Run "regedit" and export (save) a backup copy for safety
        File  >  Export
      Search for "FontSmall"
Edit  >  Find  >  Find what  >  FontSmall
Click on FontSizeGeneral and change the "Value data" to 16
      Exit "regedit"
Run Palm Desktop software and enjoy the new legible font size!
      Notes:
      1) The location of the Palm Desktop software on my system using "regedit" is:
            HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop\Core
            * Your location of the Palm Desktop software may differ.
      2) I tested this on monitors using resolutions of 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768
The font size is noticeably readable and much, much better
      3) You may also change the font family from the default (Arial) to another, such as Verdana, etc.
FontCard    (Changes the font family in the side panels)
FontGeneral    (Changes the font family for most of the program fonts)
      4) Operating System: Windows XP Pro
            Palm Desktop v4.1.4
