Type too small on finder

Running OS10.7.5 on macmini.  The type on finder stuff is too small. -- -  I'm talking about the line at the very top, including the apple on the far letft, the date, name of user user ,etc., as well as on the safari, on my yellow stickies, and what I am now typing on Safari etc. Not just the browser.
Searched system preferences and couldn't find an answer.  Help please

Have you tried changing the screen resolution?
System Preferences / Displays / Display.
What ever the setting there, e.g. 1680 x 1050, change it to one above it in the list.
You can keep experimenting till you find one you like.

    Yesterday, while playing Mafia Wars, I kept getting a bar notification that "The game can not load completely because you are missing a plugin? When I clicked on the box I got an 1/2" popup, which probably contains the information I need but it is too small to find out what it is. You can not maximize it. The is nothing visible to click on. Flash and Java are all up to date, as well as all other plugins. No plugins are disabled. How can I find what I am missing?

    Try a program such as Disk Inventory X or OmniDiskSweeper.

    All of a sudden the screen is too small for the image. Hard to explain, but in order to see the entire Finder window, I must scroll the image up/down, left/right.
    It's not just the Finder though, all of the apps are affected this way too.
    It's probably got something to do with the fact that I have an HDMI cable running from the Mac to a Vizio 42" TV. It's been running this way just fine for over two months though.
    Any ideas?

    You probably accidently zoomed the screen.  Hold down CNTL while scrolling down with the mouse or trackpad to unzoom.  Cntl - scroll up to zoom.

    I've just bought a Macbook Pro 15" and I'm trying to use Photoshop, but the resolution its displaying the images at for 100% are too small. I have to design for the web, so need to be intricate with detail, but I'm finding it adjusts the resolution of the image right down. (I mean you can see the image clearly, but it's too small to edit). When I look at Safari and see a web page at 100% it's clear, but the same page displayed in Photoshop CC appears 50% of the size (even though it says it's 100%)   If I move the application window to another screen it adjusts it correctly  – leaving all the pallettes, menus and tools correctly sized as they are on the retina display   Is there some way to adjust the way Photoshop CC displays images so it is more consistent with what you actually see?   There doesn't seem to be any answer on the Adobe forum, so hopefully someone here can shed some light.  MacBook Pro with Retina display, 15", OS X Yosemite (10.10.2), Photoshop CC 2014

    I tested both ways. With "open in low resolution" ckecked the size of the images is cool, but it is low-resolution including Photoshop appearance.
    If "open in low resolution" is unckecked the appearance is good but the very small size.
    See the image below. It has 650 x 732 px, 72 dpi. The font of the text "Neste aniversário ..." is with 18pt.

  • When i browse with firefox the search results come up too small to read and I can't find any menu buttons (ie, can't find anywhere to zoom in or the view menu)

    Have just got a new computer. Downloaded firefox as it has always been better than explorer and I've never had trouble on previous computers. It seemed to download okay. I set google as my home page. When I type a search phrase into it, the results page comes up too small to read. It's like it's normal but miniature. You know how google has google images, googlevideos, google maps across the top of it, if I click on the minature 'images' word, it comes up with the google images page but also very tiny. But if I click the mini 'videos' word, the videos search page is normal sized and so is the maps page.
    It's driving me crazy because the initial page seems okay but there's no normal google stuff on that either, and then when I try to search for something, it goes tiny.

    Hello Ashley.
    You may be having a problem with some extension or plugin that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    On the other hand, you may have Firefox configured to display fonts like that. Check Tools > Options > Content > Fonts & Colors and see that the font size is not too small. In my experience, sizes bellow 16 will be way to small to read.

    I'm new to Mac's and I find the display's just slightly too small. I'd like to increase the size of my display for all my programs. Is there a single setting that I can change as a default setting?

    You can drop the resolution a little, but it makes everything blurry.
    OS X isn't as friendly like Windows is to give some UI adjustment, one of many major complaints about the platform that has gone unheeded for years now.
    As a lifelong Mac user who's eyes are going due to age, I'm really liking Windows 7 more and more every day.
    If you use Firefox, NoSquint and Theme Font & Size Changer add-ons, with a nice persona that makes better contrast, tweak the FF toolbars, you can at least make your web surfing tolerable on Mac's.
    Also you can set a Control key in System Preferences > Universal Access plus a scroll wheel mouse, if you need to zoom in/out certain areas of OS X, however for a pernament UI scale solution there is none that's practical, unless you have a large room, a projector and a smooth wall.
    A larger monitor won't work up close neither, however dropping the resolution and sitting back a bit might sharpen the images a bit.
    The UI really needs to be adjustable and it's not.

  • The type is too small

    Trying to use Premiere Elements 12. The interface is too small to read. The drop down menus are fine, but the static words (as is the File Edit Timeline etc. headings) and numerals (timeline count) are, for all practical purposes, illegible. I'm displaying on a 25.5" HDMI tv and it's as bad as on my 13" Yoga. As is, the product is unusable. What can I do? Thank you.

    i made monitor size adjustments, after checking around, I believe the problem is my high dpi monitor, 3200 x 1800. Apparently, Adobe products are known for not working well with high dpi monitors. That's why the drop downs work well while the workspace reads too small. Someone dropped the ball on this one by not anticipating devices like the Lenovo Yoga. Or, if they were aware of the issue, by not stamping it with a huge reflective sticker warning those of us who are playing the home filmmaker game to stay away. Very disappointed because I was happy with Premiere 10 and only wanted a little more processing power behind it. And I question the safety of running old software on a new machine.

    What is the computer operating system on which you have Premiere Elements 12/12.1? It is essentially it is what it is. There is no user control over interface adjustments that you are referring to. But, you can try looking at Control Panel Display for computer adjustment to see if that will do the improvement you seek.
    Have you gone into Control Panel Display and looked at the "easier to read options"
    Smaller 100% (default)
    Medium 125%
    Larger 150%
    What is the native resolution of your computer monitor?

  • MARS License: Print is too small!

    Does anyone else find the size of the type used on the Mars license too small? I'm referring to the license tag on the front panel of the MARS box.
    I'm using a magnifying glass on it and can't tell the difference between S and 5, G and 6, O and 0, Z and 2.
    The box is basically a boat anchor until I go through every permutation.
    Please tell me if I am missing something here?
    Thanks in advance and all posts will be rated.

    Thanks. They print it on the back of the CD.
    Unfortunately, the print is the same size and is of even poorer clarity than the one on the MARS box.
    I'll have to take a picture and send it to TAC just to get a license.
    It's ironic that the MARS 100 I was working on yesterday had the license pre-loaded. This MARS 50 must have been sitting around the warehouse.

  • Disk Utility error "Mediakit reports partition map too small. 3TB

    So I have a Mac Pro with a 3TB inside, but Snow Leopard won't recognize the whole 3TB. I can format it, but it only allows 801.23 GB. The remaining space is left as Free Space. When I try to resize the Volume, I get this:
    I get this error: " Partition failed with an error." MediaKit reports partition (map) too small.
    Can someone help me find a way to utilize the 3TB as it was intended to?
    My setup:
    MacPro1,1
    10.6.8
    ST3000DM001-1CH166:

      Writable:          Yes
      File System:          Journaled HFS+
      BSD Name:          disk0s2
      Mount Point:          /

    Anyways, i've made it work. My process was this:
    Problem:
    1. I put MacPro into Target Disk Mode to mount to my 2011 MacBook Pro. Disk Utility on MBP would only see 800GB.
    Solution:
    2. Booted the SL CD on the MacPro and ran Disk Utility from there. In the partitions tab, I chose 1 partition, and hit apply.
    3. "could not unmount disk."
    4. So I tried to partition it again, and it worked this time. 3TB Available.
    5. I then booted the MacPro using an external HD with OSX on it to run CarbonCopyCloner to reimage my backup.
    I hope this helps anyone else with the same problem.

  • It wants a char; then says it's too small

    Hello,
    I have created a UI for a TestStand program in LabWindows/CVI; and it's causing me headaches. The problem is two out of several dozen of (nearly) identical function calls:
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test4, &gTestTemp); basicTest[3] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test5, &gTestTemp); basicTest[4] = gTestTemp; //Error here
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test6, &gTestTemp); basicTest[5] = gTestTemp; //Error here
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test7, &gTestTemp); basicTest[6] = gTestTemp;
    gTestTemp is defined as a static int. The functions are called in a callback function, which runs when the user clicks the "Ok" button in my UI.
    When I run my TestStand program and I press said OK button, I get a fatal runtime error: "Invalid argument type: found 'pointer to int', expected 'pointer to char'".
    I attempted to fix this issue by defining a new value, gTestTempC, as a static char and using it to retrieve the result for only these two function calls:
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test4, &gTestTemp); basicTest[3] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test5, &gTestTempC); basicTest[4] = gTestTempC; //Error here
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test6, &gTestTempC); basicTest[5] = gTestTempC; //Error here
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test7, &gTestTemp); basicTest[6] = gTestTemp;
    This results in the fatal runtime error: "Argument too small".
    I have gone into my *.uir file and have verified that there is absolutely no difference between the checkbox control elements of the functioning and the error-bringing function calls (apart from their name and their label).
    Does anyone have any idea what may be the problem here?
    ~Cheers,
    D.W.

    The code that was giving me trouble is:
    static int gTestTemp;
    static int basicTest[7];
    //Some code here
    int CVICALLBACK DispTestUIDone (int panel, int control, int event,
    void *callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2) {
    switch (event) {
    case EVENT_COMMIT:
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test1, &gTestTemp); basicTest[0] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test2, &gTestTemp); basicTest[1] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test3, &gTestTemp); basicTest[2] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test4, &gTestTemp); basicTest[3] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test5, &gTestTemp); basicTest[4] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test6, &gTestTemp); basicTest[5] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test7, &gTestTemp); basicTest[6] = gTestTemp;
    QuitUserInterface(0);
    break;
    return 0;
    Upon calling the function TestUIDone with event EVENT_COMMIT, I got an error on the lines containing UUT_Test5, UUT_Test6 and UUT_Test7: "found 'pointer to int', expected 'pointer to char'".
    As was suggested above, I declared an array of character values (char) that was, apparently, required to be at least 63 bytes in size (according to a new error):
    static int gTestTemp;
    static char gTestTempC[63];
    static int basicTest[7];
    //Some code here
    int CVICALLBACK DispTestUIDone (int panel, int control, int event,
    void *callbackData, int eventData1, int eventData2) {
    switch (event) {
    case EVENT_COMMIT:
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test1, &gTestTemp); basicTest[0] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test2, &gTestTemp); basicTest[1] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test3, &gTestTemp); basicTest[2] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test4, &gTestTemp); basicTest[3] = gTestTemp;
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test5, gTestTempC); basicTest[4] = gTestTempC[0];
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test6, gTestTempC); basicTest[5] = gTestTempC[0];
    GetCtrlVal(panel, UUT_Test7, gTestTempC); basicTest[6] = gTestTempC[0];
    QuitUserInterface(0);
    break;
    return 0;
    This no longer throws any errors, but the basicTest array in no way resembles anything I enter into the UI. Additionally, I find it very odd that 63 bytes are required to store three true/false values (the UI control elements are checkboxes).
    I can't really give you any more information about how to reproduce the error, since I'm not even sure myself how it came to be. Like I said, the UI worked fine and then stopped working although I changed nothing on that part of the program.
    I will try to reproduce the error in a seperate program and let you know how that goes.
    After finishing this one UI, I added another four to the same program. Perhaps those conflict in some way? I doubt they do since the other UIs all work fine, but I can't tell for sure.

    Hi - You might try setting the Paper Type to Plain Paper rather than Automatic.  Sometimes the color can throw off the paper sensors.  In whatever app you're in, click File, Print and then there should be a Preferences or Options button, click that and you should be able to find the Paper Type option.
    Hope that helps.
