Problem with No Hard Drive at Start up?

What model computer? No hard drive at startup is most likely caused by a dead hard drive but it might just be that the hard drive is excluded from the boot order in the BIOS. Hit F10 as you power up and see if the Setup (BIOS) sees a hard drive in the system. It can also be a bad motherboard to where the hard drive controller is bad and in that case replacing the drive will not help. Again, if we knew what kind of beast we were dealing with we could narrow the odds a bit and also let you know what kind of drive you might need.

    Hello Irene,
you should have a look at Adobe's database, to see what's stored/saved about your accounts. Here you will find general infos about your Adobe Account

  • Quiz slide not advance when using question pools and advance answer options?

    Hi,
I am using CP 5.5. I created a small test where I have just 2 question in a question pool.  The questions are using the advanced answer options to show some specific feedback. When I insert the questions in to the project using a random question slide, after the user answers where you should be able to press Y or click to move on, I click, but nothing happens.  You can't get off the quiz slide.  The quiz slides work fine when they are inserted in the project as reqular quiz slides, but not when they are being pulled from a question pool.
Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround? Anyone else run in to this?
    Thanks!
      Lori

I was having the same problem on the last Random Question slide (total 10 RQ slides), and was able to fix it by following the next steps:
Make sure Quiz: Pass or Fail actions are set to Continue for both Passing and Failing actions in the quiz preferences.
Delete the RQ slide not advancing, then duplicate one of the RQ slides working, and assign your question pool to the new slide if different from the original duplicate. This step will make sure you are using a good working RQ slide.
For some reason, my last RQ slide was corrupted and wasn't advancing to the Score slide at the end of the quiz.
I can finally finish this project.
    Good luck.

  • My iMac G3 couldn't start to its OS. Question icon and Finder in folder appear

A folder with question mark appears simultaneously with a finder folder. When try to boot in Open firmware and input the “mac-boot” code, it suddenly restart then it will back to the first problem. I don't have any iMac OS CD so try to give advice using simple terms if possible. I'm not kinda' techy person. Need immediate assistance.

Your hard disk appears to have a problem. Sometimes it can be fixed using a built in diagnostic. Sometimes it is just broken and can't be fixed.
    You can try this:
    (1) Restart computer, holding the Apple key (which is next to the space bar) and the S key down together as the computer starts up.
    (2) After a few moments, you should see a dark screen with light typewriter-style text on it. Wait until the text stops appearing or scrolling.
[If you don't see what I describe you probably have a hardware failure and will need to replace the computer unless you can find someone to repair it.]
    (3) Hit return once or twice. Then type the following, exactly, and hit return:
    fsck -fy
    (4) You should now see various things being checked and confirmed, and you may see a message about things being fixed or repaired. If the last message is that this computer "appears to be ok" then you can type
    reboot
and see if it starts up. [If it still won't start up, your disk is probably broken and not fixable.]
    (5) If you see a message that something is fixed or repaired, then re-enter the
    fsck -fy
command and keep repeating it until you get the "ok" message above.
    (6) If this fsck command cannot fix it, or if you see a message that says something cannot be fixed, or it still won't start up, you need something stronger.
    (7) The next step is to purchase Disk Warrior, boot from that DVD and run that program. It can sometimes fix things that the built in Mac diagnostics cannot fix. Disk Warrior costs about $100.
It is worth trying the above things but a computer this old may be near the end of its life, and certain types of hardware failures might not be repairable, or might cost more to repair than a new computer would cost.
It doesn't hurt to try the fsck command above. fsck = file system check, it is a built in repair capability.

  • I cannot get the STOP button to appear in the Navigation Toolbar, even after going through the suggestions; it will appear when the Restore Default Set window is open, but disappears as soon as DONE is clicked

The X for STOP loading the page does not appear in the Navigation Toolbar. If I do the right click, select Customize, Restore Default Set, it appears; click Done and it disappears. I have disabled the theme; disabled all extensions; reset the toolbar & controls; unchecked the acceleration. No luck.

Starting in Firefox 4, the Go, Stop and Reload buttons are combined in one button at the right end of the URL or Address bar. The button changes depending on the activity:
*green Go arrow when typing in the address bar
*red Stop ("X") button while page is loading
*gray Reload (circular arrow) when page is finished loading.
    Separate buttons are possible:
#Open Customize Toolbar window by clicking Firefox button > Option > Toolbar Layout '''''OR''''' clicking View > Toolbars > Customize if using the Menu Bar '''OR''' right-click in an empty space on a toolbar and choose Customize
#Stop and Reload buttons will show separated between the address bar and the search bar
#drag the buttons anywhere on the Navigation toolbar
#*order Reload-Stop will combine into one button
#*order Stop-Reload will remain separate buttons
#*or drag a "Separator" from the Customize window between Reload-Stop and they will remain separate
#click Done at bottom right of Customize window to finish

  • Any time frame for when we will be getting the Android 5.0 upgrade on the Verizon G3?Type your question

Any time frame for when we will be getting the Android 5.0 upgrade to the G3 on Verizon?

No one from Verizon can or will give you a timeline. They have no idea. Verizon can't even test 5.0 until they get it from LG first so perhaps you should be asking them.

  • MacBook Pro flashes file folder with question mark and startup manager will not run

My son's MacBook Pro won't boot (gets the flashing file folder with question mark).  When I try to open startup manager (holding "option" key during boot does not do it).  Other posts suggest inserting the install disk, but I am pretty sure that for Lion, there was no disk, it was just off the website through the App Store.  Any further suggestions?

Reinstalling Lion/Mountain Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

hey everyone..brand new to verizon and I would like to know how i can view the text messages on all my phones? I could only get into the main phone on my plan

If you mean see text messages on My Verizon, as in the log of who, what type, and when, make sure you chose Account Owner when you registered.  If you chose Account Member, then you are restricted to only seeing your own line.  The Account Owner is the only person that can view all lines on My Verizon.

  • I have a Macbook Pro (2009) and the tool bar in Safari keeps disappearing. There's a small diagonal arrow on the upper right that I can click and the bar will appear temporarily, but then it disappears from view. "Hide Toolbar" is greyed out in VIEW

My 2009 Macbook Pro's Safari doesn't show the tool bar anymore.  I can click on a diagonal arrow in the upper right corner that appears when I put my cursor there and the tool bar will show, but then it disappears again.  Also, when I get an email and click on an internet link the Safari doesn't open full page like it used to - it opens as a small little box and I have to click the diagonal arrow in upper right corner for it to open full screen.  Any ideas how to correct this - it is so annoying.  Thanks for any help!

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.
