Typekit Available for CC Now?

Anyone else confused? On my CC Desktop App when you click on Fonts it says "Coming Soon" but if you search and get to this page:
http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/529506-getting-started-with-typekit-and-c reative-cloud
it makes it seem that it is available now for CC memberships. Is it coming or can CC Members use it now?

The short answer is no, the new desktop feature will not change the web fonts that are available in Muse. You will continue to use the Typekit embed code to include web fonts in your Muse site. (On a related note, I found a screencast by the Muse team on using Typekit that may be useful: http://www.adobe.com/inspire/2012/06/typekit-web-fonts-muse.html )

The fonts that you sync to your computer from Typekit will behave similarly to the system fonts that are installed on your machine. If you use them in Muse, they will be exported as images in your finished website.
We hope to integrate Typekit in Muse in the future so that all of the fonts in your plan are available in the menus and the preview, but we don't have a timeline for when that will be available.
Let me know if anything of this isn't clear, and I would be happy to try to clarify!

Towards the bottom of the screen at the link above is a pdf you can download. Open it and enlarge the image and you will get a clearer picture of the opening for the prox sensor.

Not quite true actually. Apps 11.5.3 was reclassified to include emergency bug fixes only, and no new functionality was introduced. Also the Portal integration from apps will be delivered as a standalone ARU which can be applied to any release 11.5.X revision of Apps. We plan to release this ARU in Spring 2001. Will other applications become available for Cloud subscription?

So I have the Adobe Creative Cloud subscription (student price) going, and so far all seems to be working well. The price is right and I much prefer the subscription model over buying outright.
However I'm more interested in the applications from the Technical Communication Suite that aren't part of this package; RoboHelp, Captivate, FrameMaker. I'm looking to change careers and am back in school. I could really benefit from learning and becoming certified in these applications. Robo and Frame don't even have student pricing at present. Even if they did, they would most likely be cost prohibitive for me to purchase outright.
Now I could make use of the 30-day trials for each, doing them one at a time and trying to learn as much as possible in a month. That might be enough to learn my way around and get my feet wet, and possibly even enough to pass a certification exam. That said, I'd much rather have access for a longer period in a subscription model similar to the Creative Cloud. The level of integration between these applications makes it important to have them all available at the same time.
The purchase price of some of those applications and suites might be fine for commercial clients, but an absolute non-starter for students who need to learn them. A month trial simply isn't long enough. On the other hand, the Cloud subscription model seems perfect for this. Someone like me could join up for a year or so, become comfortable with the applications, and then stop subscribing once employed by a company who licenses these applications. Or, perhaps then I might have a justification to purchase them for contract work and the like.
I was wondering if Adobe has any plans in the pipeline as far as making these other applications available under this Cloud model .

$69/month for a year commitment or $99/month. It's a tougher proposition at $70 as (for now) I'd just be using them to learn on and have 2 of the 5 apps via the Creative Suite. Student pricing would help.

1. You’ll probably find iOS 8.1.1 to be much faster than 8.1 on the older devices.

So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,it takes forever to back up my iPad AND my iPod so what can I do ?

If you're on windows try the following:
This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync
7. Good luck

I've tried for many months to install the new 4.0 and it goes through download but never changes to newest version, and now it says that 3.6 will only be available for a short time longer.

Every time I log on, Firefox states that I am using the older version, and that I need to update to the 4.0, though today I saw something that said 7.0 so wasn't sure what that was about. Anyway, my program states upon the install, "Save Program". So I do and then it still doesn't take effect. Now your site states that the 3.6 will soon be no longer available for updates etc, but you new version never loads or takes effect??? Help please. If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
* Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
* Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
* Uninstall your current Firefox version.
* Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
* Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
* It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

Just went to the product support site. Guess what? The latest MediaSource plugins for the various Creative MP3 Players are now available for download. I am sure the latest plugins should have fixed several problems.
Don't forget to download the latest Creative MediaSource v3.30.2 too. Install the latest Creative MediaSource first before you install the MediaSource Plugins of your respecti've MP3 Players.
Note: According to the download site, the latest MediaSource plugins require you to have at least v3.20.57 of Creative MediaSource.

It seems that MediaSource 3 and MediaSource 5 are designed to coexist with each other. I believe that MediaSource 3 may still be needed for some (old) products. That may be the reason why installing MediaSource 5 does not automatically uninstall MediaSource 3.

ProRes presets for Media Encoder CC now available for download

We have new ProRes output presets available for Media Encoder CC. You can download the presets here
While the new presets do not add new functionality to Media Encoder, they do provide added convenience. By definition, these presets are for use on Mac OS. If you are on Mac OS X 10.8, or 10.9, the ProRes codecs come installed with your operating system. If you are using Mac OS X 10.7, you will need to install one of the Apple Pro apps (Final Cut Pro, Motion, Compressor, etc.) for the presets to function correctly.
Here’s what’s new with the Media Encoder CC ProRes presets:
Preset names have been updated to say "SD" (instead of “DV")
The Field Order of PAL SD presets changed from "Lower" to "Upper"
Frame Size of NTSC SD presets changed from 720x480 to 720x486. This is based on Apple's ProRes specifications. If 720x480 versions are needed you can create your own User presets with these settings.
Enhanced support for multi-track audio sources. New "Audio Track Layout" and "Channel Layout" sections let you specify the number of exported tracks, track types (single track, dual mono, or stereo pairs), and channel mapping for 5.1 audio
Please note: the ProRes presets should only be installed on AME CC (7.x). They may not work correctly in AME CS6 or earlier versions.

Much appreciated, but I was wondering when we might expect a framerate and resolution independent way of transcoding media?
Sometimes (as in most of the time) I don't really care about changing resolutions or retiming anything, I usually just have a pile of media that I would like to conform to a single codec, independent of framerate or resolution, like at this very moment.
Right now I need to transcode 100+ clips in various flavors of h.264, mp4, and animation codec in order to get this media into Resolve. I don't want to have to specify different framerates and resolutions, I just want them transcoded to ProRes.
The presets are nice, but the ability to do what I'm needing would greatly reduce the need for presets like these.

Adobe Acrobat 9.5.0 now available for PowerPC (PPC)

Just wanted to let everyone know that Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.5.0 is now available for PowerPC. I didn't know if there would be additional updates, but this confirms there are. This should work for both Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8.
Strangely, it is not in the FTP directory at ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/mac/9.x/9.5.0/ like the updates usually are.
Also, the default Acrobat Reader site at http://get.adobe.com/reader/otherversions/ is only showing Reader 9.4 English for Mac PPC as the latest for PowerPC.
