Why I can not sync typekit fonts to Illustrator CC 2014?

I'm sorry that you are having trouble syncing fonts from Typekit, Susanna. Please try these troubleshooting steps to start:

  • Quick Font Sampling Not Working in Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0

I just updated Illustrator CC 2014 to version 18.1.0 and have lost a feature I've come to depend upon to try out different fonts. I don't know what to call the feature, but this is how it worked:
With a type box selected or type highlighted, I would go to the font menu and with my up/down arrows on my keyboard, start going through the list. This would cause the selected text to change. It was a super quick way to run up and down my font list to see what different type would look like.
    Any ideas what's gone wrong?
    What I'm running:
    iMac OS 10.9.5
    3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    16 GB RAM
    FontExplorer X Pro 4.2.1

    Hi Satinder,
I can change the font with the arrow tool, but it wouldn't change the text block I was applying it to unless I then hit "Enter." In the previous version of AI, I didn't need to do this until I landed on a font I wanted to use.
However, after an hour-long chat with Adobe, they were able to see my issue and provided a very simple fix:
    1. Quit Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0.
    2. Go to: User>Library>Preferences>Adobe Illustrator 18 Settings, select the folder "en_US" and change its name (they had me rename it to "2en_US")
    3. Relaunch Illustrator and the problem should be resolved. Illustrator creates a new preference folder.
    4. You can go ahead and delete the original, renamed preference folder.
I hope this is helpful to others that have had the same problem.

  • TypeKit Fonts will not sync

I have read through the various other posts about this issue, so I have logged out of the application, and loged in again, restarted CC, turned font sync off then on again, attempted to update EVERYTHING...fonts appear in the manage fonts page...but not on CC or in any aplications...suggestions...HELP!!

Mototeddy do you receive any specific error messages when you try to sync the font?  You may also want to reach out to TypeKit support at [email protected]  You can also view the available help articles at https://typekit.com/help.

  • My font is not available in Illustrator...

I am attempting to use a font that is available to me in Indesign CS5 and is installed on my computer (a PC), however the font is not available in Illustrator CS5. I have attempted installing the font in the Adobe Common File, but that did not help. I don't understand why a font would be available on my computer in general, but not in Illustrator. Any thoughts?

May be Illustrator doesn't like it. Yes, I'm not kidding, Illustrator is programmed to be quite picky accepting fonts in its menu - the fonts must be top quality.
Another thing is to make sure the font is in the Fonts folder in your system and not in some place available to inDesign only like a program's fonts location or if you are using a font manager.

  • Why are the TypeKit fonts I am syncing not showing up for use in Illustrator?

    Hi there,
I am beyond frustrated right now.  But that's neither here nor there for anyone reading this so I will get to the point.
I have synced the TypeKit font, Tablet Gothic Wide to my Mac, but it simply won't show up as a font choice in Illustrator.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sam

    Hi Sam,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  I've confirmed that the font selections are added to your account correctly.
In case you weren't aware, the Creative Cloud application needs to be running on your computer in order for the fonts to be synced. If you don't have that installed, you can download it for free from https://creative.adobe.com/products
Once you have Creative Cloud running:
    - Are the fonts showing up in the Fonts tab of Creative Cloud?
    - If you haven't done so already, would you please try turning off font sync in the Creative Cloud application, wait a moment, and then turn it back on?  The option to do this is under the gear icon in Preferences > Fonts ("sync on/off").  Sometimes the app just needs a fresh session for the fonts to appear again.
If that doesn't make a difference, please send your recent sync log files to Typekit Support at [email protected] so that we can look into it further.
    Thank you,

    On OS X:
    * Open the Finder
    * under the Go menu, select "Go To Folder"
    * in the window that opens, type:  /Users/(username)/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Remember to replace "(username)" with your own account name.
(Or if you are comfortable working from the Terminal, cd to $HOME/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/)
Attach the 3 or 4 most recent CoreSync-yyyy-MM-dd.log files to an email. Please don't send a zip file, as they often get flagged as spam.

  • Typekit fonts are not working after updating to Muse CC 2014

I had updated to Adobe Muse CC 2014 just recently. The first few times I used it on my muse file, it was fine. This morning when I opened the file, the text boxes using Typekit fonts blew out of proportion. I have not edited the file at all, just opened it. My site is a mess. Any idea what happened? The font I am using is Source Sans Pro.
My live site is here: www.goodseed.com
But see how it looks now in Muse:

    Hi,

  • Consolidate All Windows option not functional in Illustrator CC 2014

I just downloaded the Illustrator CC 2014 update, and I cannot for the life of me consolidate all my open documents to one window. In other words I want to dock all open documents to the top in tabs. In the regular CC version, if you have multiple documents in tabs in a floating window, you can go to Window > Arrange > Consolidate All windows, and it will dock all of those docs at the top in tabs. However in CC 2014 that option is greyed out and I can't select it. Anyone else experiencing this bug? Am I doing something wrong? (The first image is  CC 2014, and the second is from regular CC, what I want it to look like.)

SUCCESS!! I figured out that you need the Application Frame option checked in order to achieve the layout I like. Silly me.

  • Some fonts are not working in Illustrator

    Hello!
I am having trouble with a font I wont to use in illustrator. I have already installed it in the system and it comes up in Flash but it doesn´t appear in illustrator or Photoshop. Can anybody help me? Thank you for your help in advance.

    >It shows in Explorer with an Open Type icon even though it's a True Type font (mtcorsva.ttf) from 1998.
A couple of pertinent Wikipedia entries:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrueType
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OpenType
Bottom line: Many Microsoft/Monotype fonts introduced after 1994 were sold/listed as TrueType fonts but, in fact, used 'TrueType Open' technology. Those will show up as OpenType fonts in the newest Windows operating systems.
    Install
    Microsoft's Font Properties extension
to see more detailed information about your fonts via right-click/properties.

  • Why is the Kuler panel not syncing in Illustrator CC?

I love using the Kuler panel in illustrator but I downloded the new CC version and my color panel will not load my themes or allow me to browse other Kuler sets.  Here is what I am seeing:
Then when I click on the Download My Themes button I get this:
Now I know I am not offline becasue I can still go on to the Kuler website and get themes  and my login apears in the box above the Download button.
So how do I browse themse and get them in to Illustrator with in the application?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Sorry if this sounds like something you've already checked, but I need to ask - is your Adobe ID and the credential to enter the Kuler website the same? If they are, you should be able to browse your themes, and the public themes that you have liked.
Nevertheless, I'm checking with the team if there is anything else that could cause Illustrator CC to not download your themes and show you that error message.
    Cheers,
    David

  • Custom scripts not working in Illustrator CC (2014)

A couple of custom scripts that are part of my workflow don't work in the new CC; MultiExporter.jsx and Sprite CSS Generator.jsx.
    When I try to run either a titled modal window comes up as if the script is running but the actual window is only a couple of pixels tall and can't be re-sized;
They both worked fine in CC. My grasp of javascript is pretty basic but is there code that needs to be changed to update these to work with the current version?
    Thanks!
    Bob

It looks like this might have been a system issue or conflict of some sort; I uninstalled AI CC2013 and AI CC2014 as well clearing out all prefs and artifact files and folders. Then did a fresh install of CC2014 an was able to use all my legacy scripts with no problem.

  • Mail in 10.7.5 not syncing with iCloud (Oct 2014)

I have the 2-Step Verification set up. Recently Apple emailed everyone about creating third=party passwords for the 2-Step verification system. Well ever since that email sent, I cannot access my iCloud in my Mail 10.7.5. I've tried updating my password via System Prefrences > Mail, Contacts & Calendars and it ask for my iCloud password. So I enter it and ask me for my verification code and then ask for the password again. Then I get the Apple iCloud Terms and Conditions, which I do accept and click. Then here I'm stuck in a loop: it ask for my password and then ask for me to accept the Terms and Conditions! What the heck!
I tried clearing my Keychain passwords but I still get the same error/loop cycle. Should I enter through the actual Mail program (even though I read that I should go to my iCloud preferences based on this link: iCloud: Mail server settings for email clients)? Need help asap!

  • Typekit Fonts Not Syncing

Typekit fonts are not syncing. I open an Illustrator file I created with CC Illustrator and now it says that some typekit fonts are missing. I go to Typekit and it shows that the fonts are installed for Desktop. I go to CC .app and it says under the Fonts section that "Font sync is turned on..."
    What the heck Adobe?
    Fix this issue!
I'm tired of all this logging into this that and CC portal just to do work!
I'm tired of this, really frustrated and tired of it.
We're not getting our money's worth with all these issues.
Adobe, you are NOT what you used to be. You've gotten worse, not better.

Adobe you MUST knock these disruptions off!
Again, we are NOT getting our money's worth with so many disruptions.
Fix this stuff so it never happens again.
Ok, so now I will go out and tweet and FB post to all those who question Adobe... should I get CC? How is CC? Is it worth the money?
I will absolutely reply to them and tell them NO, IT IS NOT!

  • How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities.  As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable?  Have I missed something.
As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family.  I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account.  So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac.  They do not appear in Muse.
To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool.  However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it?  Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

    Hi David,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts.  (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
    o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
    o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:
TYPEKIT | Adding fonts to your site
Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts#/?xHeight=high&contrast=low&class=sans-serif&width=re gular
We are also working on a more complete integration of Typekit with Muse in the future, but I can't say yet when that will be available.
    >> PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.
Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)?  It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:
Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,

  • Typekit fonts not available in Lightroom (and only in Lightroom)

    Hi,
I have been a Creative Cloud member (full membership) for quite a while now and just this week I noticed that Typekit fonts I've synced to my computer are available on all the CC apps I use, except for Lightroom.
The fonts are evidently synced correctly (since I can, for instance, use them within Photoshop CC). However, whenever I try to create a new watermark within Lightroom, my Typekit fonts are nowhere to be found.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, latest Creative Cloud desktop app and all my CC software is up to date. I have searched and roamed the web for hours and have not found a single way to solve this issue.
I have already tried to sign out and back in, restart all apps, restart CC desktop, reboot windows, all while being permanently connected to the internet.
Any thoughts on what I may be missing?
    Best regards
    Javier

    Hi Javier,
Thanks you for sending an email to Typekit Support!  I have forwarded it to our lead Product Manager, and asked him to look into it the bug report with the Lightroom team.  We'll update you again over email once we know more about the bug.
There isn't another workaround to use the fonts from Typekit in your watermark, unfortunately.  If there are one of two fonts you really would like to use, you do have the option of purchasing the desktop license from the foundry and installing the font on your computer.  Once it is installed, it will be added to all the type menus in Lightroom.
If you'd like to look into that, here are the foundry websites for the two fonts you have synced from Typekit:
Felt Tip Roman - Felt Tip Roman – Mark Simonson
FF Market - FF Market fonts from the FontFont Library
And again, we will follow up in your support email with more information as well.  Best,
