Typekit Fonts Not Syncing

Typekit fonts are not syncing. I open an Illustrator file I created with CC Illustrator and now it says that some typekit fonts are missing. I go to Typekit and it shows that the fonts are installed for Desktop. I go to CC .app and it says under the Fonts section that "Font sync is turned on..."
What the heck Adobe?
Fix this issue!
I'm tired of all this logging into this that and CC portal just to do work!
I'm tired of this, really frustrated and tired of it.
We're not getting our money's worth with all these issues.
Adobe, you are NOT what you used to be. You've gotten worse, not better.

Adobe you MUST knock these disruptions off!
Again, we are NOT getting our money's worth with so many disruptions.
Fix this stuff so it never happens again.
Ok, so now I will go out and tweet and FB post to all those who question Adobe... should I get CC? How is CC? Is it worth the money?
I will absolutely reply to them and tell them NO, IT IS NOT!

  • Why are TypeKit fonts not displaying correctly in Pages (iWork)?

I have just subscribed to TypeKit and am experiencing highly peculiar behavior from the two fonts I’m using in Pages (iWork): Basically, fonts in my document don’t respond appropriately to requested changes in style. For example, if I increase the point size by one point using the the formatting commands built into Pages, the font drops a point size. I’ve had the same experience using the kerning command, where the kerning decreases when I have set it to increase. (So far, the only fonts I’ve been using have been Futura PT and Proxima Nova.)
Look at the example in the screenshot: “FEATURED EXPERT” on the top line shows in Pages as being 24pt Futura PT Book. However, “SOLO,” a few lines down, which is definitely displaying as smaller, shows as 25pt Futura PT
In a potentially related issue, when I reopened this same document today, text boxes were suddenly too small for the text (again in Futura PT and Proxima Nova). It was as though Pages was suddenly reading those two fonts differently.
I have had no issues with other (non-TypeKit) fonts in the same document.
Anyone else experiencing anything similar? Any suggested fixes? I'm reluctant to unsync/resync the two affected fonts (the only ones I have sync'd to date) because I don't want to wreck the document!

Thanks, Christopher. After I posted my original question, I did come to realize that it was Helvetica not Future PT showing. Here’s what happened, and here’s why I still need some guidance…
The document dropped Future PT because when my wifi signal dropped, the Creative Cloud app displayed this error symbol (see graphic) in my menu bar.
At that point, my computer could no longer access my TypeKit fonts and the document reverted to the system's Helvetica default.
This was not an isolated incident.
If I turn wifi off manually, there is no issue and CC continues to operate in the background as it should, with TypeKit fonts still available.
However, if the wifi drops out on its own, I get the above error symbol and I then lose access to my TypeKit fonts. Very rarely, the CC app will self-correct when the signal is restored. More often than not, I must quit the CC app and relaunch it in order to get things back to normal.
This doesn’t strike me as normal behavior Have you ever encountered anything like it? Do you know of  a fix that will allow the CC app to self-correct when the wifi signal is restored?
    Any assistance will be appreciated!
    Thanks!
P.S. TypeKit troubleshooting doesn’t address this particular issue.

  • Typekit fonts not available in Lightroom (and only in Lightroom)

    Hi,
I have been a Creative Cloud member (full membership) for quite a while now and just this week I noticed that Typekit fonts I've synced to my computer are available on all the CC apps I use, except for Lightroom.
The fonts are evidently synced correctly (since I can, for instance, use them within Photoshop CC). However, whenever I try to create a new watermark within Lightroom, my Typekit fonts are nowhere to be found.
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, latest Creative Cloud desktop app and all my CC software is up to date. I have searched and roamed the web for hours and have not found a single way to solve this issue.
I have already tried to sign out and back in, restart all apps, restart CC desktop, reboot windows, all while being permanently connected to the internet.
Any thoughts on what I may be missing?
    Best regards
    Javier

    Hi Javier,
Thanks you for sending an email to Typekit Support!  I have forwarded it to our lead Product Manager, and asked him to look into it the bug report with the Lightroom team.  We'll update you again over email once we know more about the bug.
There isn't another workaround to use the fonts from Typekit in your watermark, unfortunately.  If there are one of two fonts you really would like to use, you do have the option of purchasing the desktop license from the foundry and installing the font on your computer.  Once it is installed, it will be added to all the type menus in Lightroom.
If you'd like to look into that, here are the foundry websites for the two fonts you have synced from Typekit:
Felt Tip Roman - Felt Tip Roman – Mark Simonson
FF Market - FF Market fonts from the FontFont Library
And again, we will follow up in your support email with more information as well.  Best,

  • Certain desktop-available fonts not syncing

Font and file syncing is working for me, but certain fonts that say they are available for desktop font syncing on Typekit are not showing up in Photoshop or any other apps. I even see the notification that the files are syncing when I choose them for desktop use on Typekit, but they don't show up in my list of synced fonts in the Creative Cloud app, and aren't available for use in any apps. Two examples are Adelle and FF Tisa Pro.
    Thanks,
    Jordan

    Hi Jordan,
I'm sorry that you are having trouble with fonts syncing.  Would you please email [email protected] with the Adobe ID that you use for Typekit?  We'll take a look and see why font sync isn't working for you.
    Thanks,

  • Fonts not syncing between machines...

I started with Font sync on my desktop...selected a bunch of fonts to work with and it worked great (this is literally one of the best additions to my workflow ever)!
When I moved onto working on my laptop from home...it was also working great...Then today I open up CC and it's not syncing. So I check on Typekit...yep everything is still checked to sync there, but nothing showing up on CC and the fonts aren't available in my apps. So I try adding a few new fonts...these ones DO sync...but not the ones I had previously checked. I tried unselecting the old fonts on Typekit then reselecting, doesn't work (although new fonts do), tried restarting syncing, restarting CC. Nada.
Really bizarre that it was working and now it's not. Also stranger that I can add new fonts, but deleting and re-adding the earlier ones doesn't make them work.
Unfortunately, I'm smack bang in the middle of a project using a bunch of fonts I now can't access with a looming deadline. Not fun times.
I saw a similar-ish issue on another thread, with a response saying that a fix was being worked on....Any idea of timeframe?

    Hi,
it would be useful to see your log files.  You can get them from either location below, depending on your OS:
    Mac:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
(On Mac, you need to use the Go To Folder option from the Go option in Finder (menu at the top).  Then in the pop up enter:
    /users/username/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CoreSync/
Then select go, this will take you to the folder containing the .log files.)
    Windows:
    %APPDATA%/Adobe/CoreSync/CoreSync-yyyy-mm-dd.log
Then email them to me on [email protected]

  • Typekit font not displaying in iPad DPS app (created by Indesign) in Web Content (Edge Animate)

I think I have tried every permutation to make this work, but I am probably missing something.
I am creating a single DPS iPad app with InDesign, and I am using a Typekit font throughout.  So far so good.
I have created an Edge Animate project using the same Typekit font.  In preview mode, it is fine as well.
However, when I place the Edge Animate project into a frame in InDesign and use the Web Content Folio Overlay (regardless of whether I use the .oam file or link directly .html output published by Animate), the Typekit font will not show up in the Edge Animate portion of the DPS app and will instead use a fallback font.
Can anyone suggest a way to make Typekit fonts in Edge Animate work when embedded in a DPS app?  (For what it's worth, I have the same problem when embedding html output from Tumult Hype, so it seems unlikely that this is an issue with Edge Animate at all and probably has more to do with something in the way the DPS app is dealing with embedded html content.)
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Believe me, I understand the pain. Unfortunately there's only so much we can do at Adobe as the EULAs provided by the foundries for their respective fonts are very explicit in where you can and can not use them.
For example, packaging an InDeisgn file and sending it off for pre-press with the fonts included in the package is in direct violation of most font EULAs. In a studio environment, you're only allowed to have a font installed on n number of computers and need to have multiple licenses to accomidate >n number of seats. When creating a PDF, fonts explicitly have to be subsetted before embedding into the PDF.
That's just to paint a picture of the fragile state of using fonts in print, usage in digital mediums is just another bee in your bonnet when it comes to considering when you can and cannot use a font.
Services like Typekit Desktop are trying to make this easier by removing a lot of those pain and condierations for you, by blanketing all these fonts under a single license you're free to use for print and the web. There's still some gotchyas, but we're aiming to greatly reduce how much you have to think about it where we can.
So yes there's a bit of education when it comes to mixing embedded HTML content/fonts with DPS, but at least there's options

  • Typekit fonts not loading in Muse

Hi, I purchased a Creative Cloud Annual Plan and I can't use the Add Web Fonts dialog box within Muse. I run it on a Win XP pro 64bit SP2, Muse working properly if not for that function.. Dialog box appear but  no command is clickable and error is prompted reading "Could not load web font previews. Check your network connection and try again". Same connection, same sw, on a different pc (win xp sp3) works fine. I searching Adobe kb, faqs and other unsuccesfully finding any hint. Could you please let me know how to fix it?

    Hi,
Currently, you can only use and preview the free and open-source Typekit fonts in Muse. In the future there will be kit integration, so that you have access to all the fonts in your Typekit plan.
You can still use Typekit on your website, though; the fonts just won't show up in the Muse preview.  The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
Or, if you are comfortable editing HTML, you can add the embed code to the <head> tag in your site manually. You can find the embed code by logging into https://typekit.com, launching your Kit Editor, and clicking the "embed code" link at the top right.
If you have any further questions, feel free to contact us directly here: [email protected]
    Cheers,

  • Typekit fonts not working on Form buttons

    Hello,
I just created a form within Muse, my Typekit seems to be working for everything except the Form Submit button.
I looked in previous discussions and it was mentioned if any of the states do not have the Typekit applied, the button will be rasterized, I double checked this and this is not the case, the Typekit is applied to every state.
    Any ideas?
    Please take a look:
    http://mikrosm.businesscatalyst.com/contact.html

For regular text frames, Muse will not rasterize websafe fonts or webfonts(aka typekit fonts). The form submit button is a special case.
Browser support for styling the form submit button is inconsistent, so to make the styled button work in all the major browsers, Muse always rasterizes the submit button. Otherwise you'd have some visitors to your website that couldn't click on the button, or had a submit button that didn't look as you intended.

  • Typekit font not working

    Hi everyone,
I paid typekit to use Proxima Nova typeface and wanted to use it on my site,
and I found a thread saying follow Museinsider's blog post here should be all good
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
I did follow the post but it turned out not working, when viewed in live either my texts disappear or they won't change at all(still showing as images)
rightnow my web site is showing text as image...
Seriously need help, whats exactally not working?
    Thanks a lot
    Roger

    Hi,
You are correct in observing that:
    - Using Proxima Nova (as a system font) in Muse will cause Muse to export text as images
    - For the museinsider.com workflow, you need to use a web-safe or web font
    - Using a web-safe font like Helvetica only gives you access to four styles (Regular, Bold, Italic, Bold Italic)
In another related thread (http://forums.adobe.com/message/5719573#5719573), I had suggested using a web font with a larger set of weights and styles (e.g., Source Sans Pro). I didn't hear from the user if that actually worked, but it is worth a try.

  • Typekit fonts not reloading in photoshop

Photoshop does not reload the desktop synced fonts from typekit. They are acknoledged as synced in the creative cloud main page but not visible in the project (even if I try to reload the fonts)

    Hi ked71 & Trevor.Dennis,
I'm sorry that you are having some trouble with your font syncing.  Do either of you happen to have Suitcase Fusion installed?  The Creative Cloud team has found that the combination of Suitcase Fusion and Creative Cloud may cause the sync fonts to temporarily not show up InDesign and other applications.
At the moment, the only workaround is to turn off File and Font Sync setting in the Creative Cloud app (under the gear menu) and then turn it back on to start a new font sync.  We are working with Extensis to learn more about the problem.
If that doesn't seem to be the case or toggling font sync doesn't help, please feel free to email us at [email protected] so that we can look into the problem further.
    Best,

  • Fonts not syncing

For whatever reason [CC being particularly badly designed] auto installing fonts to my machine routinely, it fails almost everytime I am asked to login its broken again. Not only is this a pain but it means I cannot work for paying clients while this is down. The font section simply states download fonts from typekit [it doesnt even recognise the fact i have fonts to download], and if you go to typekit all you have is the option to remove fonts... where is the option to PAIR or RESYNC the fonts. The only way I can get around this is to fully reboot my machine which further delays my working time and even then there is no guarantee its going to play ball.

    Hi Tim,
Kindly try out the steps mentioned in the link below to troubleshoot syncing of fonts.

  • TypeKit Fonts Not Displaying When Published to Web

Hello everyone.  After noodling around the forums, I found the method for using non-Edge fonts from TypeKit in a Muse site.  For some reason, however, it doesn't seem to work.  My workflow if below.  Is there something I'm missing?  Is there a specific font I should be using in Muse in the hopes it gets overwritten by TypeKit?
    1. Setup and publish TypeKit.
         a. Added Adobe Garamond Pro as font.
         b. Created selector of .body_garapro for that font.
         c. Publish changes.
    2. In Muse:
         a. Copy embed code from TypeKit into Head via page properties for Master Page.
         b. Create paragraph style called body_garapro.  (In this paragraph style, I tried using good old web safe font Arial and the edge web font Garamond EB.  In either case neither was replaced.  I made sure not to use a system font to avoid the image output issue.)
         c. Export site as HTML, upload via FTP to domain entered into TypeKit...and no TypeKit replacement.
I also made sure that my test text had no overrides and was using the straight body_garapro paragraph style.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Chris

In the web template properties there was a setting named "Force Variable Screen Display" make sure it is checked.
And also see if this helps:

  • Why are previously active typekit fonts not showing in Illustrator font menu?

I have opened a file the fonts were used in previously.
Illustrator behaves as though the fonts were never installed.

    Hello,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this! In case you weren't aware, the Creative Cloud application needs to be running on your computer in order for the fonts to be synced. This help page shows how it works:
    http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1145956
Once you have Creative Cloud running, please try turning off font sync, wait a moment, and then turn it back on.  The option to do this is under the gear icon in Preferences > Creative Cloud > Fonts ("Typekit on/off"):
Sometimes the app just needs a fresh session for the fonts to appear again.
If that doesn't make a difference, please send me a screenshot of the Assets > Fonts tab in the Creative Cloud desktop application and your recent sync log files to [email protected], and we will take a closer look.  Here are instructions on where to find the log files:

  • Typekit fonts not working after Edge Animate project is published

Hi, I have added Myriad from Typekit to a Edge Animate project and after applying the font it looks great and even when I 'View in Browser' it works fine.
My problem is after publishing, the font defaults to it's fallback font (Serif-Sans) overtime in every browser.
Am I missing a step in the process of publishing?

    Hi Nathan,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this.  The fonts may not be loading because the published website uses a different domain name than your development site.  Please make sure you have added the published/live domain name to the domain listing on your kit.
To add domains, go to https://typekit.com/account/kits and launch your Kit Editor. Click Kit Settings in the upper right corner and add your domain to the domains field, then save your settings. When you're done, republish your kit.  The fonts will be available on the new domain within a few minutes of republishing.
If that doesn't solve the problem, would you share the project URL so we can take a look?  If you don't want to post it on the forum, you can email Typekit Support directly at [email protected]
    Thanks!

  • Fontbook fonts not syncing with my software programs-after SuitCase Fusion Trial

I am hoping someone can offer some insight / help. I am frantic .....a graphic designer needing my fonts asap!!
TRIGGER/ Problem arose today --  I installed and then uninstalled a trial version of Suitcase Fusion 3 today - and now 1/2 of my fonts are not recongnized by my software programs (ie: all Adobe software, MS Word, excel etc).
Basically when I open up FONTBOOK it shows all of my fonts under the ALL FONTS column, however when I want to use them in InDesign or PhotoShop or WORD, or Illustrator ....etc (you get the idea) ...they are not available from any drop down menues. It's as though the Fusion Software trial delinked them from use in all my applications?
Does anyone know how to reestablish fonts as they are listed / available in FONTBOOK?
Is there possible corruption OR is it just something I need to reestablish in my system?
    Thanks kindly,
    Jhoe

You used the software's built in uninstaller correct?
Because if you didn't you need to install it again, then use their uninstaller first.
    Next, download OnyX here
    http://www.titanium.free.fr/
Run ALL the maintenance and cleaning aspects, you can cancel the reboot in between, but you need to reboot at the end of using OnyX.
This page especially should be of extra interest, it will rebuild your font caches.
Going to take a little time, but hopefully that will fix your issue.
None of your programs, files or fonts will be deleted, it's just cleaning out the system so it can rebuild itself.
If it doesn't work, then what likely has happened is the trial software didn't completely remove itself or altered something and didn't place things back the way it should be.
You should contact the support people for that program. They might have instructions.
But since you can't always count on them, it's always best to have a "hold option bootable clone" of your boot drive on a external drive which you can reverse clone from or use if your boot drive dies, and/or a TimeMachine drive where you can restore back to a previous state before the software install occurred.
