Typekit integration

Are there any future plans to integrate purchased Typekit fonts into the Muse Fonts Menu?
This embedding code and only previewing fonts once published is proving to be a pain in the proverbial,
it doesn't help workflow.
Thanks

Hi,
I assume you are referring to a workflow similar to http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
I am sorry we don't expect to be able to offer seamless Typekit integration in the near future.
However, we'd like to evaluate if we can implement something that's an improvement over the muse insider workflow.
To that end, could you answer the following questions (in private, if you prefer):
1. Which aspects of the muse insider workflow are most and least inconvenient to you
Creating a kit at typekit.com
Including embed code in Muse
Inability to work with the actual font during Design
Inability to see the actual font during Preview
Other (please specify)
2. Do you own the desktop versions of the fonts you wish to use on the website?
3. Are the fonts in the list here: http://help.typekit.com/customer/portal/articles/1189216-coming-soon-syncing-fonts-to-your -desktop
4. Are you an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber?
Thanks,
Abhishek

  • Full TypeKit integration!

I am a happy Typekit user, and would love to see Adobe break down the incomprehensible wall between Muse and Typekit (not just the Web Fonts included, but all the fonts one's subscription allows). It should be as easy as it is in the other CC products to integrate Typekit projects and view them in the editing stage, rather than having to rely on default fonts and constant browser previews. Oy.
Also, retina display support would be keen.

    Bump...
Just got client sign-off on a web design (mocked up in Photoshop) that relies heavily on many of the available weights of Proxima Nova, a Typekit font. Moved over to Muse to start building and Proxima Nova is not available as a Web Font.
I've jumped through a few hoops and have succeeded at getting standard weight/ital to work on the live site, but there's no way to access all weights/variations of the font.
Lesson learned, for now... but this shortcoming should be addressed pronto, or at the very least, mentioned in the tutorial videos.
    Thanks,

  • Typekit integration not working

Hi, I followed both options of instructions from this post: Typekit webfonts not showing as options in Muse Web Fonts and neither worked. Can you please help?

    Hi, yes thank you!
I followed the steps listed here: http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
Yet when I publish my muse site, the text is exporting as an image, it is not rendering the webfont from typekit. Maybe it has something to do with the error you can see in the embedded HTML box on the top left corner of my muse site?

  • Typekit sync problem in Photoshop (Suitcase fusion?)

I am on a Mac OS X 10.9 and all my CC apps are up to date
I installed a few desktop fonts from Typekit. They worked fine in Photoshop but after restarting my Mac the fonts were disabled in Photoshop. I then turned file and font sync of/on in CC settings, and it partly fixed the problem. But one of the typefaces are still disabled (LFT Etica - Bold).
I am using Suitcase Fusion 2.0. I can see from other threads that it may cause troubles.

We've released an update to Suitcase Fusion 5 that addresses Typekit compatibility. The update is avaiable free to all registered Suitcase Fusion 5 users and can be downloaded here:

  • Typekit museinsider workaround -- what am i doing wrong?

    Hi --
I'm trying to use Jubilat and Proxima Nova on my site and I've followed the museinsider workaround here: http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
But, it's not working on my site. I've exported it to HTML and it's still not working. What am I doing wrong? I'm including some screenshots to show my process...
Here's my Javascript embed code at the top of my page
my header (which will be in Jubilat) is styled...
my body copy (which will be in Proxima Nova) is styled...
here's Proxima Nova with it's .body selector in typekit...
and Jubilat with the .header selector in typekit
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me figure out what's going on!

We have a new Typekit Integration Widget over at MuseThemes.com that helps simplify integration between the two. Simply drag the widget out onto your canvas, style your text in Typekit and enter your Kit ID# into the widget.  There's a video overview to help if you end up getting stuck
    Check out the widget here
    Hope this helps! Cheers.

  • I own CS6, but have CC installed for TypeKit. Getting trial popup.

I've owned CS6 for years. In the last year, I also signed up for the CC Photography program under the same Adobe ID. My wife uses the Photography software. I also have CC installed on my machine with TypeKit integration offered, but I use the CS6 apps. Whenever I hope Illustrator CS6 or InDesign CS6, I get a popup window which indicates that I'm using a trial (which of course I'm not). I'm using purchased CS6 software. Any ideas on how to make the trial window cease and desists? Am I stuck with uninstalling CC and foregoing my TypeKit syncing?

Here's what I ended up doing.
Uninstall the CC Desktop Application using the uninstaller in its Application folder.
Followed the links to register/license (my already registered CS6 software), entering the serial number for my copy of CS6 when prompted.
    Launched InDesign.
    Quit InDesign.
    Reinstalled CC desktop application.
    So far so good.

  • TypeKit Feature Request

LOVE the idea of TypeKit integration into Adobe CC. Having so many quality fonts at hand is great. Downside is that having so many quality fonts is a BEAR to browse through.
I'd suggest adding the ability to sort by popularity/usage. This allows for crowd-sourcing the best fonts and one of the reasons I love Google's web font directory because it saves me having to wade through countless fonts that aren't very popular.
    Thoughts?

    Hi lancert365,
Thanks for your comments!  There is a Typekit list which collects the most popular fonts as chosen by our users:
    https://typekit.com/lists/favorite-fonts
Additionally, if you browse by the "recommended for" categories at https://typekit.com/fonts, you will find fonts that have been hand-picked by Typekit's staff for their technical and aesthetic excellence. If you are looking for web fonts, these render excellently across all browsers and devices, including Windows.
You can also filter by classification (e.g. serif, sans serif, monospace), properties (e.g. width or weight), and language support to find the right font for your project.
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions!

  • How do I load additional Type Kit fonts into Muse?

I have installed Azo Sans font from the Tool Kit within Creative Cload and it is synced across the account. I want to use this font in an Adobe Muse design but it's not available as Adobe Edge Web Font within Adobe Muse. Any suggestions??

Muse is limited to "Edge" fonts and doesn't have access to all the web fonts in Typekit (but they should be). The only solution to this I know of is paying extra for a Muse Themes membership. Muse Themes has a Full Typekit Integration widget, along with some other very useful widgets.

  • Photoshop & Illustrator CC 2014 crashes shorty after startup

They both have been working fine up until today. I tried a re-install and also the solution from Photoshop CC (2014) fails to start (0xc000007b) confirming the files were removed on uninstall then re-installed from fresh (x86) and (x64) versions of the 2012 C++ redistributes.
Crashes on plain application start and through opening a PSD. Seems to occur right at the point the new library feature updates in my tools although I have yet to use the feature. InDesign CC 2014 has no issues. Crash reports below.

The previous non-2014 CC version of Photoshop is working fine. I still need a resolution for the 2014 version as I need Typekit integration back.

  • CC Design package.

I think it would be helpful to offer a few more packages (maybe an à la carte option as well) to the subscription model, besides the one or all model you currently have.
For example, I think many creatives would want a traditional print + web design app package only:
    InDesign
    Photoshop
    Illustrator
    Bridge
Along with the rest of your CC services:
    Typekit integration
    Cloud File Sharing
    Behnace, etc.
There's no need for Flash, DW, video editing, etc.
I do appreciate the big discount for CS registered users, but this is just for the first year. Seems like Adobe could offer something between the $9 and $49 price point, without things getting too complicated.

Thank you very much for your feedback Ladri-bici.  I will certainly forward on your suggestion.

  • Recent improvements to Parfait

The team has busy fixing bugs, adding new features, and generally improving Project Parfait. Here are some recent changes, that we would love to get your feedback on:
+ Support for Layer Comps. If your PSD has Layer Comps, you can toggle them in the menu that is just left of the Zoom controls.
+ New Eyedropper tool. Sample colors from bitmaps in your PSD. Takes transparency into account, and is not affected by your display's color profile.
+ Support for CSS Preprocessors. So far, we've added SCSS + Bourbon, and LESS + Hat. Let us know if there are others we should add.
+ Units for fonts can be displayed in pixels, ems or rems. A Base Font setting allows you to override the default - ems and rems will be calculated using the Base Font.
+ CSS for Gradients is more accurate, and has improvements for some of the less common gradient types.
+ Click to Copy Position and Size in the blue HUD when you have something selected.
+ Cursor changes to provide hints and feedback as you work in Parfait.
+ In-product feedback. Simple yes/no questions presented to you in the context of the operation you just performed. We hope these are unobtrusive and easy for you to help provide feedback to us.
+ Parfait is now smarter about when your Creative Cloud login token expires, and prompts you to login.
    + Improved cross-browser support.
We welcome your feedback and comments, either here in the Forums, or in the Chat pod in Parfait.
    Bruce

    Hello everyone,
The team has kept busy improving Parfait, and we pushed a new build today with some new features for you to try. As always, please do provide feedback. We're eager to hear how these features work for you, and whether we can improve them. Even just a quick note to say one of them works well for you would be helpful and appreciated. We would love building Parfait to be an even more collaborative effort with our users.
+ Percentage-based measurements. You can now toggle between pixels and percentages in the blue info overlay when selecting one or two objects in Parfait. We definitely need feedback on this feature!
+ Typekit integration. Parfait now checks the Typekit library to see if the fonts used in the Photoshop file, and provides links to the webfont equivalents.
+ Asset Scaling. Parfait now allows you to enter relative scaling as 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x, even .5x now when you are exporting assets. We don't yet support entering an exact dimension, but will soon.
+ Improved Selection model. Now, we use alpha based hit testing rather than bounding box selection. This makes it easier to select what you want when items are close together.
    + Improved cross-browser compatibility.
+ Bugs and tweaks to improve performance and user experience.
The Parfait team is going to be on vacation beginning June 28, returning July 7, but we're eager to have your feedback. Please use the chat pod in Parfait, or comment here in the forums, and we'll replay as soon as possible.
    Thanks!
    Bruce

This is the boilerplate text often used in connection to saving to a network (please NOTE the part where it explains that normally, it does work, but that it is impossible to troubleshoot someone else's network remotely, and that's why it's not supported by Adobe):
If you are opening files over a network or saving them to a network server, please cease and desist immediately in the event you are currently experiencing problems with one or more files. Working across a network is not supported.
    See:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/406/kb406793.html
Copy the CLOSED file from your server to your local hard disk, work on it, save it again to your local hard disk, close it, and copy the closed file back to the server.
Of course, the fact that Adobe does not support working across a network does not necessarily mean it won't work.   It should.
Adobe's position is that there are too many variables in a network environment for them to guarantee that everything will work correctly in every network, especially given the fact that if something does not work properly, it's probably the network's fault, and Adobe has no way of troubleshooting your network.
If you can't work locally, you are on your own, and if something happens, you're on your own. If you must work from a server, make sure your network administrator is a competent professional.
When problems arise, a lot of valuable work can be lost.

  • Integrating Typekit fonts into BC Blogs and News

    Hi guys,
Wondering what is the best way of integrating Typekit fonts into the BC Blog and News modules - more so on the layout/details of blogs and news.
I can easily do it on my website when I add the blog & news modules, but CSS overrides, but when you click on the blog or news link, it just stays in whatever BC web font is available.
Any tricks for this? I am using Josephin font on my clients site, and he wants this for his blog and news articles as well.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hi Aaron,
on the BC version, do you use a template? Seems like there are no styles used whatsoever.
Do you have the script file installed on the BC blog template like you have on your other website? I couldn't find it in your source code.
Picked that from your other website:
    <script src="http://webfonts.creativecloud.com/fredericka-the-great:n4:all;josefin-sans:n6,n3,n7:all.js" type="text/javascript"></script>

  • Typekit Sync integration with two Adobe IDs

    Hello,
I have 2 Adobe accounts - not great, I know - because I work for an educational institution.
My school has a copy of Creative Suite 6 that we have owned since before CC was available, which works fine on my Mac with the CC application manager. I am signed into the Adobe ID that was set up with my school e-mail account (.edu and all that), which seemed appropriate at the time since the school owns the license.
I also have a personal Adobe ID with a personal e-mail account (gmail), which I have used to purchase a Typekit Portfolio subscription. I recently applied for and received early access to the Typekit desktop sync feature.
The Problem: if I sign out of CC (currently using my school Adobe ID) then I will lose access to the school's copy of CS 6. If I don't sign in with my personal Adobe ID, however, then I cannot use the Typekit sync feature.
How should I proceed? Is there some way to link my two Adobe IDs to show that they are for the same person, without entangling the financial aspects which are currently split between me and my school?

  • How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities.  As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable?  Have I missed something.
As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family.  I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account.  So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac.  They do not appear in Muse.
To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool.  However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it?  Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

    Hi David,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts.  (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
    o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
    o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:
TYPEKIT | Adding fonts to your site
Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts#/?xHeight=high&contrast=low&class=sans-serif&width=re gular
We are also working on a more complete integration of Typekit with Muse in the future, but I can't say yet when that will be available.
    >> PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.
Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)?  It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:
Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,
