Typekit web fonts only partially load in IE

I'm having some troubles getting Typekit web fonts to work well with Internet Explorer. Occasionally the fonts will load just fine, sometimes the fonts won't load at all, and sometimes the fonts will only partially load where parts of the site will have the correct fonts and other sections will not. Again this is only with IE 9-11. Every other browser works fine. I'm hoping someone on the forums may be able to lead me in the right direction. I've emailed the support email on the typekit website twice and after waiting several days I fear they won't be getting back to me. Thanks for any help anyone can give me.
This is an image of it working in Chrome.

Hi linseyfree,
I am sorry that you've been having trouble with your font loading! We didn't receive an email from you in Typekit Support; I will look into what happened there.
I have been emailing with one of your colleagues (Tom S), however, and I believe this problem has been sorted out.  If you still see trouble with the font loading, however, please run the tests at the end of this post in IE 9 or 10 and we can look into it further for you.
Best,

Use the web developer tools in the browser to look at your site's assets, and take a screenshot of the timeline for Typekit.
1. Clear your site cache so that the Typekit files are requested from the network again.
2. Select the network tab in the developer tools and keep it open.
3. Go to the page that's giving you trouble. Verify that it loads and that the fonts still aren't loading properly.
4. In the network tab, scroll down until you find the requests from Typekit; there should be a JavaScript file and a CSS file.
> take a screenshot
5. Select the JS filename, then select the Headers tab that appears.
6. Resize the window so that all header info rows are visible.
> take a screenshot
7. Select the HTML tab.  Is the font marked as "wf-active" in the font events on the HTML tag?

  • Using Typekit web fonts in Adobe Muse | Adobe Muse Feature Tour | Adobe TV

Adobe Muse recently introduced a feature that allows you to incorporate TypeKit web fonts into your website designs. In this video, Product Manager Dani Beaumont shows you how to access over hundreds of font types that look beautiful and can be understood by search engines and screen readers.
    http://adobe.ly/NlQYof

This video sends Flash Player into a wheel-spinning loop that freezes Firefox, won't play beyond the first few seconds (and very choppily at that) in Chrome, and reduces IE9 to a crawl. It isn't possible to view the video as of 10/23/2012.

  • HOW do I find out how much using additional Typekit web fonts COSTS?

It seems very strange to me, but there are NO PRICES listed at typekit.com.
You can see lots of faces, but there seems to be no way to USE those faces on the web! I excpected there to be SOME information on pricing, but there is NONE.
One might conclude that they don't want any business ...

    Hi Michael,
I have just replied to your support email, but will post the same information here for the forum archive:
I'm sorry for any confusion here.  Your Typekit Portfolio plan is included in your Creative Cloud subscription at no additional cost.
This is why you don't see information about pricing when you are signed in to your account: it's part of the Creative Cloud subscription that you already have.  I will let the team know that this was confusing, though, so we can make it more clear in the future.
    # About your Portfolio plan:
A Portfolio plan gives you access to the full library of Typekit web fonts, as well as the new desktop sync feature.
You can read more about the Portfolio plan details–and the pricing on the other Typekit subscription options–on the plan pages:
    https://typekit.com/plans
Font sync is still being rolled out to users, so will need to request access in order to try it out. Read more about that on our blog: http://blog.typekit.com/2013/08/08/sign-up-for-early-access-to-desktop-font-sync
or just head over to sign up:
    https://creative.adobe.com/earlyaccess.
Again, all of this is included as part of your Creative Cloud subscription.  You will not be billed anything additional by Typekit (unless you choose to upgrade your subscription to support more pageviews.)
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  best,

  • Typekit Web font problem - only in PC browers

Hi. We have developed a site in Muse using a particular font from Typekit. The font in question is 'Quicksand'.
When we publish the site onto BC for viewing, on a Mac (Safari & Chrome browsers) the font shows fine, and on iPhone/iPad too. When we view it on a PC (IE8, Chrome, Firefox) it is either very feint (Chrome) or almost totally illegible and distorted (IE8 & Firefox).
We changed the font to another from Typekit on one particular page and the problem was solved.
Not fancying changing all the text, menus etc etc on the whole site, any ideas what could cause one particular font to not work like this?
    Many thanks
    Nathan

I'm having the same Muse Web Font problem. Web Fonts are beautiful in Design Mode but when in Preview Mode they're a mess. When I publish they render like in Preview Mode, a mess. They display incorrectly when viewing on a PC from any browser I've tried: IE, Firefox, Safari, Chrome and Opera. They look great on my iPhone but I don't have another Mac OS device from which to view. This happens with ALL Web Fonts.
Please see samples: 1) Muse Design Mode. 2) Muse Preview Mode. 3) Firefox PC. 4) iPhone.
The text displayed in images 1 and 4 is crisp but in images 2 and 3 is pixelated and misshapen. Can someone explain what's causing this and offer a solution?
    Thanks,
    ~Bob

  • Muse/Typekit web font list/preview?

Is there a specific foundry within Typekit that Muse uses to populate its list of available web fonts in the "Add Web Fonts..." menu? When I browse Typekit's site to find fonts for use in Muse the majority aren't available from within Muse. Likewise, some of the fonts available in the Muse menu are no where to be found on the Typekit site, Aguafina Script for example.
There's actually an Adobe foundry within Typekit, which contains LOTS of fonts unavailable in Muse. What kind of sense does that make?
It's difficult to use them in conjunction to facilitate type design. If I browse Typekit chances are the font isn't available in Muse anyways. If I browse Muse I frequently can't find the font on the Typekit site so I can preview at different sizes/weights to make a good decision regarding appearance and legibility for my viewers.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    ~Bob
BTW, why the heck don't all the browsers use Muse's Design Mode type rendering engine? Typekit fonts are stunning when viewed in Muse's Design Mode but look like terrible every where else... even in Muse's own Preview Mode. The only exception I can find is on an iPhone which alse renders type beautifully.

actually was trying to make typekit fonts to work with muse, but the edgwebfont-tutorial... don't work for me...
now i found a way. using the same tutorial and screenshots from above How to add Typekit fonts to your Muse site
    STEP 1:
you need to have an active domain, so you can upload yr files on the web via FTP. you are going to see yr fonts online only.
first you need to setup yr typekit-kit with yr domain.
now select your fonts and weights you want on yr webpage
STEP 2: Give the Typekit fonts selector names
you need to put the selectors on the top left corner of the screen, BUT
INSTEAD of the ".header" or ".body" selectors, you can use the normal HTML selectors, like h1, h2, p and so on. if you want, you can set more than one selector to yr font, so if for example you want to use the same font for h1 and p, you can put both selectors there. if you have italics and bold selected it going to work automatically on muse when you use the bold and italic buttons. preety cool!
    publish
Step 3: Give your Muse text frames paragraph styles with the same names
AT FIRST: you might do this setup on yr masterpage, so yr fonts are automatically loaded on yr sites.
make paragraph-styles with your HTML selectors (h1, h2, p and so on), then format yr text with them on the pages.
Step 4: Add the Typekit Javascript
DO NOT paste the java script on yr site! this code must be in "HEAD" of the website. so you need to go to menu:
    > page > page properties
then, paste the typekit javascript in yr "metadata".
    that's it.
hope it helps, and sorry my english

  • Can Typekit web fonts be used to produce digital publishing documents or can only desktop fonts be used?

I'm trying to match a DPS publication to a website that uses a web only Typekit font. Is there a way to make it work for a DPS publication or can only desktop fonts be used? Thank you for any insight.

    Hello JMZambelli,
Thanks for your interest in Typekit!  Only the fonts licensed for sync use may be used to create digital documents.  We are continuing to license fonts from our foundry partners for desktop sync as we move forward, but in the meantime you can likely purchase a desktop license directly from the foundry for any weight or style which is not available for sync. The foundry name & website are linked from the top of each Typekit font detail page.
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions here or at [email protected]  Best,

  • Safari only partially loads certain web pages. The menu bar on a page is completely missing so I can't access any of the site

where that white bar is above the login should be a menu bar. It never loads and I cannot access a number of pages on the site. Is there anyway to correct this?

    Hello Siobhan86,
It looks like your iPad is not loading this webpage correctly all of a sudden. I would start by quitting Safari:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, I would next clear the website data for Safari in Settings:
Safari settings - iPad User Guide
Go to Settings > Safari, where you can:
Clear your history, cookies, and data
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Take care,
    Sterling

  • Work with TypeKit web fonts in Edge?

I am working on a composition that, when on the actual web site, will use TypeKit fonts like the rest of the site.
For example, sample css used is
    "din-condensed-web",Arial, sans-serif;
How can I specify that in my composition (even if I can't see it in Edge, which is fine)?

    Hi guys
    Thanks for your earlier posts.
I have had some difficulty too. I followed in detail and double checked the instructions in the online tutorial
Using TypeKit | Learn Edge Animate | Adobe TV
however, even after waiting a while, I'm not getting to view the fonts in animate. I added ["felt tip woman", cursive]    with the code, and although it shows in my fonts list, I'm not able to preview it in the app, or in my browser. the text is there obviously, but the corrsponding style for the selected font does not show
please help and thanks in advance for your attention.
    Cheers
    Huey

Using windows7 64 bit. loaded ad-aware total security. IE works fine. Firefox loads half the page , usually no graphics, check with my bank IT security showed nothing getting through to their site when I tried to log on.

  • Reader 11.0.10 errors to "not responding" and seems to only partially load for my main user account.

I am running Windows 7 OS.  I created a new user and it runs Reader fine so it is not a corrupted copy of Reader.  I have gone through my services list and made a couple changes with no solution.  I Started in diagnostic mode but still had the problem.  I have uninstalled Reader and re-installed several times.  I have uninstalled and run RegHunter to remove any registry problems and then re-booted and re-installed with no effect.  How can this be corrected?

Please don't post the same question multiple times!

  • How do you add/use typekit fonts that are not edge web fonts?

I am just trying out the new Muse CC 2014.1 (August) release and was keen to try the new font facilities.  As far as I can see that while I can now add other fonts for which I have downloaded web font files via the Self Hosted Web Fonts function, Typekit fonts that are not "Adobe Edge Web Fonts" are effectively unavailable?  Have I missed something.
As an example I want to use the Proxima Nova web font family.  I have selected it on the type kit site, set them up to Sync via my Creative Cloud account.  So for example if I select a font in Photoshop CC or Illustrator, the Proxima Nova fonts appear. Even ok in Word for Mac.  They do not appear in Muse.
To add them as self hosted web fonts, I would need to physically download the relevant fonts files and install them on my desktop using the OS-X font tool.  However as they are being sync'd via Creative Cloud this shouldn't be necessary should it?  Also I don't see an option for doing so on the typekit site.
Any help or guidance would be very welcome.
PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.

    Hi David,
I'm sorry that you ran into trouble with this. To add fonts from Typekit to your Muse website, you will want to use the web fonts path instead of desktop fonts.  (You can use a desktop font synced from Typekit in your Muse design, but it will exported as an image the same as any other system font.)
There are a couple options for using Typekit web fonts in Muse:
    o) The Muse Insider wrote a post on how to insert the Typekit embed code from the Muse interface:
    http://museinsider.com/how-to-add-typekit-fonts-to-your-muse-site.html
    o) Or you can add the embed code to the Page Properties dialog within Muse, which will include it in the <head> of the page when you export your website. The steps are the same as this tutorial, but you will add the Typekit embed code to Muse instead of into your page directly:
TYPEKIT | Adding fonts to your site
Note that in either case the Typekit fonts will not be displayed in the Muse preview window. You'll need to publish your site to a server in order for the Typekit fonts to be loaded into the page.
If those look like more coding that you are comfortable with, you might try one of the fonts which you can select from the font menu instead. Here are some that are similar to :
    https://edgewebfonts.adobe.com/fonts#/?xHeight=high&contrast=low&class=sans-serif&width=re gular
We are also working on a more complete integration of Typekit with Muse in the future, but I can't say yet when that will be available.
    >> PS:  I seem to have a separate issue with the Creative Cloud app, which is not listing fonts under the Assets tab.  But I don't think that is related as they are working fine for Photoshop, etc.
Do you see a "loading" icon in the tab (e.g. a blue spinner wheel)?  It sounds similar to this thread; you might try these suggestions:
Re: Adobe Creative Cloud / Desktop App / Home Screen: Constant Spinning Wheel
I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions.  Best,

  • Partially loading web page

I am having a problem with web pages that are only partially loading. If I hold down the ctrl+f5 it loads it but as soon as I release the keys it goes back to being partially loaded. I would be really grateful if anyone can help, as i process my sales orders online and can only see the order headers, so seriously affecting my ability to work.
    Any ideas

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Can't use Web Fonts in Photoshop, but can in Muse

Hi, I'm trying to use the same font I use in Adobe Muse on an image I'm creating in Photoshop CS6. In Adobe Muse, it was easy to add fonts by simply clicking "Add Web Font" and it opened a browser for me to select from many web safe fonts. Love this feature, by the way. In Photoshop, however, I do not have the same fonts listed and can find no place to get the fonts. I've tried downloading the fonts and putting them in my font folders but they do not show up on my list and they are web safe fonts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
The font is question is Delius.
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi, billlywjr73,
Right now you can't use Typekit web fonts in Photoshop.
From the Typekit help, "Typekit only permits web-use for the fonts in our library, so we can’t provide you with a version of the fonts you use via Typekit to download and install. However, each font detail page includes a link to where you can buy an installable version of the font from the font’s designer/owner."
On the Photoshop community forum, Jeff Tranberry says it's something on their radar but no ETA yet.

  • Web fonts from Edge Animate and DPS

I've read all of the existing threads on this matter and I'm still a bit confused.
I get that typekit web fonts won't render offline. But if that is the case, how can you ever use a custom web font from Edge Animate in a DPS publication? Considering you can only use web fonts in Animate...
We have a desktop license for this font as well. So is there a way to get my animate project to call the desktop font rather than the web font?
Any help or clarification would be greatly appreciated.
    - Dylan

I haven’t tried it so this may be a shot in the dark but you might be able to hack into the CSS and use @font-face to call a local font.
Check the license of the font to be sure it allows this.
