  • Reporting Services Role - No items found SCCM 2012

    Hi,
My SCCM setup includes a CAS, 2 Primary Sites and a Remote SQL server, which hosts SQL instances. I have everything working apart from the reporting.
SCCM server is 2012 SP1 and SQL server is 2012 SP1. The SQL server is hosting all Three SQL instances for each site.
    1. I had first added the SSRS role to SQL site system server for all sites but later found this to be an issue so removed the SSRS role for the primary sites.
    2. I can access the reporting services url via a web browser and see the reports listed from the CAS site.
    Any issues/questions are:
    1. However, I cannot see any reports in the reporting console.
    2. Can one SQL server host instances / reporting services for all three sites and providing reporting in SCCM?
    Any help on this appreciated.
    Thank You

Since no one has answer this post, I recommend opening  a support case with CSS as they can work with you to solve this problem.

  • SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012: migrate SOME items, TESTING ONLY(!)

    Hi,
We have an SCCM 2007 environment in production with which we don't deploy any os-es. All other features: packages etc we do use, currently for Windows XP as well as Windows 7.
We've setup a SCCM 2012 environment in which we will deploy Windows 7. I'm not familiar with the possible migration concepts, therefore I thought of setting all items on SCCM 2012 manually (collections, applications) but why reinvent the weel? Therefore
I 'd like to know/test my options WITHOUT IMPACTING production (export, import? ...)
    Please advise howto.
    J.
    Jan Hoedt

    Hi,
You can migrate the collections, advertisement to SCCM 2012 or create them manually. Both are OK. I suggest you read the migration document first.
The Migration documents are in the link below.

  • SCCM 2012 on File Server

We are planning on migrating to SCCM 2012 this year and have a question around security.  Since SCCM 2012 requires IIS to be installed on all servers used in the SCCM hierarchy is there any known concerns around using IIS on a shared server with SCCM/File/Print
    combined on the same hardware?
Are there any best practices around configuring IIS for SCCM 2012?

on top of the other answers, also make sure you check these info:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712264.aspx they do contain information about configuring IIS for ConfigMgr.

  • MOF file migration from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012

    Hi,
I have an issue while migrating SCCM 2007 MOF (Configuration.mof) to SCCM 2012,Problem is...
In our infrastructure, We have integrated our custom inventory classes with the logon script. Now we are migrating to SCCM 2012.When i migrate the same Custom inventory classes to SCCM 2012,I can able to compile/migrate, However SCCM 2012 views are not in
    sync with SCCM 2007.
Example: If i use SCCM 2007 collection/Query in SCCM 2012 that uses these custom inventory classes, its thrown an error saying that objects in this query are not valid, because of this none of the collections/Queries that uses old inventory classes are not
    working.
I dont want to change anything in the logon script...
Can someone please help me on this. Thanks in advance..

    Hi Garth,
    Thanks for the reply.
As per my understand, there's nothing to do with SMS_DEF.mof and only Configuration.mof can be editable.
When you say Importing sms_def.mof in SCCM 2012,I guess there's is something i missed out.
Below is the both SMS_DEF.mof and Configuration.mof from SCCM 2007, Also please let me know how to import SMS_DEF.mof in SCCM 2012

  • Using a environment variable that was created during the Task Sequence process - SCCM 2012 R2

    Hi,
I'm triyng to use a environment variable that is create in the beginning of the Task Sequence.
    1. I'm using a VBScript that get the Exit Code of an application, and create the environment variable "iReturn" with the value of the exit code. (This is working)
    2. I add this variable in the CustomSettings.ini, like this "iReturn=%iReturn%
    3. After the step that I run the VBScript I put the "Gather" step to get the variables, but looking in the BDD.log the iReturn variable appears the same as the CustomSettings.ini configuration "iReturn=%iReturn%". (But, if I put a "Restart
Computer" step after the VBScript, the BDD.log shows the iReturn variable with the right code.)
Question: How can I update the environment variable of Windonws XP to use in the Task Sequence without restart.
    OR
How can I configure autologon in SCCM 2012 (if have no way to update withou restart computer).
I already tried the autologon with registry settings and a specific user, If I starts the process with this user works, but If I starts the process with other user, after the autologon the process doesnt continue, I have to do logoff and login with the user
    that I started the process.
PS: All this steps have to be executed before the WinPE phase.

Environment variables must be explicitly set every time a system boots so unless you have a process to repopulate it after the reboot, it won't persist automatically.
Why not store the value in a task sequence variable so that it persists after a reboot?

Issue 2: I'm trying to deploy a couple of Packages/Applications using SCCM 2012 R2 running on Win2K8 R2 with no luck, knowing that I could install the packages
on a test VM “in the DataCenter site”, but when trying to deploy the packages to production PC “in the Office Site”,
the status is packages deployment compliance stuck at 0%
    Infrastructure:
3 SCCM servers: CAS, PRI & SEC. Both CAS and PRI are in the DataCenter site, and SEC is in the Office site. The office site has several IP subnets.
Boundaries are configured through Forest Discovery “IP Ranges and AD Sites” since that the AD site should contain all the IP subnets that the AD site contains, Boundaries groups are also configured and a site reference
server is configured for each group respectively.
A OU based Collection has been configured that contains 13 PC "the collection contains the PCs that the packages should be installed.
Packages/Applications are configured correctly since that I could successfully deploy the packages to the test VM which is on the same subnet as the CAS and the PRI servers "the DataCenter subnet". The issue
is that I can't deploy the packages to production PCs in the Office subnet!
Firewall rules are configured and applied via GP, and I even turned Windows Firewall off, and still nothing! I tried to manually initiate Computer Policy download via the SCCM GUI and via a script, still no luck!
I tried configuring IP Subnet Boundaries, still no luck!!

Is there something wrong with the Distribution point on the Secondary Site server?
    Please help…
    Thanks..

    Update:
I fixed the issue with the default XXX00002 package - "Configuration Manager Client Package", it will not deploy to the Secondary Site DP. I did that through "Update Distribution Points" option, and after a while the status was 100%.
However; the second issue is still unsolved...
    Please help..

  • SCCM 2012 - App deploy - Configuring a dependency in an app which is also configured for supersedence.

    Hi there
I am replacing an app with a newer version via SCCM 2012.
So lets call the existing app App1 and the new app App2.
I have an application created which has App1 configured to be superseded (uninstall) and App2 to be installed as a msi deployment type.
The issue I have ran into is that the install/upgrade fails if App1 is currently opened and running. The uninstall only works if App1 is not opened.
Anyone had to deal with something like this before without reverting to a script deployment type which runs taskkill commands and then a msiexec /x command? Is there a more sophisticated way to do this using the new application model?
The sequence would need to be:
    1) App1 if running on the target machine is killed
    2) App1 is uninstalled
    3) App2 is installed
Anyone put anything like that together?
    Regards
    John

    Thank you for replying.
Yes the key is indeed the uninstallation command and behaviour on App1; as my question makes clear I am aware of that.
I am hoping someone has come up with a clever way of achieving such a requirement, or I will simply have to use a script, which seems a bit unsophisticated given the range of options available in the application model.
    Regards
    John

  • SCCM 2012 R2 not show Threat item in Malware Detected Report.

I had no "Malware detected" items fount.
There are no report abount virus that Endpoint Protection client finds.
I try to test be creating file with this test content: "X5O!P%@AP[4\PZX54(P^)7CC)7}$EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!$H+H*", my Endpoint Protection find this file, logging it in its journal, but SCCM not show this Theat.
My computer was discovered, Endpoint Protection was automatic installed, Antimalware Policies work fine...
....but in "Monitoring/Endpoint Protection Status/System Center 2012 R2 Endpoint Protection Status" my collection with my computer(this is test collection), show me: "Endpoint Protection agent
    not yet installed: 1"
There are many collection with many devices, but no one give me report about "Malware Detected", but virus was found in our company.
SCCM 2012 R2 was upgrade from older version(i have not this information).
What log must i fount about this issue?
What cat i do to fix this problem?

SCEP client is installed by policy successfull.
    Policy applied succesfull too.
but i guess that data do not copy from SCEP to SCCM
or data do not inserted in database.

  • Types of SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 Migration

    Hi all,
Can i know what are the different types of migration we can do from sccm 2007 to sccm 2012 ?
    Thanks

    Hi,
There are now in-place upgrade so the only option you have is side-by-side migration. Install the new Configuration Manager 2012 infrastructure and migrate you objects, client e.t.c to all the new CM 2012 site server.
Here is a link that will get you started:

  • SCCM 2012 Disk Configuration

We have purchased a Dell PowerEdge T420 with more than enough resources for our site...my main concern is with disk configuration. We will be hosting approx. 3000 Config Manager clients. We have 16 drives total in the server connected to a Dell H710P PERC
card.. Eight drives are 300GB 10K SAS and another eight are 1TB 7.2K Nearline SAS. The Nearline SAS will be used for content storage. How should I configure the other drives for OS, SCCM 2012 and SQL? My initial thought was two RAID 10 Arrays. One for OS and
CM and the other for SQL. Or Two Raid 1(One for OS and another for CM) and one RAID 10 for SQL.
Can OS and CM safely be placed on the same array? SQL will, without question, be on a separate set of disks.
    Any guidance would be appreciated.
    Thank You.

See the Disk Space Configuration for Site System Servers section in this document:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/scstr/archive/2012/05/31/configuration_2d00_manager_2d00_2012_2d00_sizing_2d00_considerations.aspx
In particular, the comment that follows:
"For optimal performance, it is recommended that each line item in the above table be allocated its own dedicated RAID volume. For all data volumes (ConfigMgr and database files), best performance can be achieved using RAID
    10."

  • How does WSUS work when an SCCM 2012 R2 server is newly installed? Should WSUS be installed and configured on same server?

    Let me clarify.
We had a functional WSUS server delivering our updates to ours workstations. The location of the WSUS server was pushed out by Group policies.
Later, an SCCM 2012 R2 installation was installed. The original WSUS server was removed. Now WSUS type services appear to be broken.
I tried to start WSUS on the SCCM 2012 R2 server and it does not start. (I assume its not configured).
I want to get WSUS running again but am not sure how to do this safely in conjunction with our SCCM 2012 R2 installation. Do I just reinstall WSUS on the SCCM server and configure? Or is there other preferred methods?
I was not involved in SCCM's installation, so I do not know what was done.
    Geoff.

Update functionality is provided via the Software Update Point
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712312.aspx
... which requires WSUS to be installed - it basically takes control of WSUS.
Any existing group policies defining WSUS servers should be removed so that the SCCM client (which I assume is installed on computers already) can configure accordingly. Otherwise you will have group policy and SCCM client over writing one another to configure
    the update server

  • SCCM 2012 Client (Connection Type: Currently Internet)

    Hi
I migrate SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 R2 on Windows 2012. (no problem)
I configure OSD to deploy Windows 7 SP1. When i deploy a Windows 7 on computer test, no problem, but a SCCM client on the computer = Connection Type: Currently Internet ???
I try: SMSSITECODE = AUTO, SMSSLP= servername, etc....
    I check "boundary", log files
But if not install SCCM client with OSD and after install client manually = no problem.
    Do you have any idea?
    Thanks

I try: SMSSITECODE = AUTO, SMSSLP= servername, etc....
    Hi,
SLP has been merged into the Management Point in SCCM 2012.
Are there any useful information in the relevant logs(Smsts.log, client installation logs)? There should be some information about client install properties.
    Best Regards,
    Joyce Li
