Types of landscapes

can you tell me types of landscapes and ratings in land scape

Hi,
Landscape is like a server system or like a layout of the servers or some may even call it the architecture of the servers viz. SAP is divided into three different lanscape DEV, QAS and PROD.
-  DEV would have multiple clients for ex: 190- Sandbox, 100- Golden, 180- Unit Test.
-  QAS may again have mutiple clients for ex: 300- Integration Test, 700 to 710 Training.
-  PROD may have something like a 200 Production.
These names and numbers are the implementer's discreet on how they want it or they have been using in their previous implementations or how is the client's business scenario.
Now whatever you do in the Sandbox doesn't affect the other servers or clients. Whenever you think you are satisfied with your configuration and you think you can use it moving forward, you RE-DO it in the golden client (remember, this is a very neat and clean client and you cannot use it for rough usage). As you re-do everything that you had thought was important and usable, you get a transport request pop up upon saving everytime. You save it under a transport request and give your description to it. Thus the configuration is transported to the Unit Test client (180 in this example).
You don't run any transaction or even use the SAP Easy Access screen on the 100 (golden) client. This is a configuration only client. Now upon a successful tranport by the Basis guy, you have all the configuration in the Testing client, just as it is in the Golden client. The configuration remains in sync between these two clients.
But in the Testing client you can not even access SPRO  (Display IMG) screen. It's a transaction only client where you perform the unit test. Upon a satisfactory unit test, you move the good configuration to the next SERVER (DEV). The incorrect or unsatisfactory configuration is corrected in Golden (may again as well be practised in the sandbox prior to Golden) and accordingly transported back to 180 (Unit Test) until the unit test affected by that particular config is satisfactory.
The Golden client remains the 'database' (if you wanna call it that) or you may rather call it the 'ultimate' reference client for all the good, complete and final configuration that is being used in the implementation.
In summary:
Landscape : is the arrangement for the servers
IDES : is purely for education purpose and is NOT INCLUDED in the landscape.
DEVELOPMENT ---> QUALITY -
> PRODUCTION
DEVELOPMENT : is where the the consultants do the customization as per the company's requirement.
QUALITY : is where the core team members and other members test the customization.
PRODUCTION : is where the live data of the company is recorded.
A request will flow from Dev->Qual->Prod and not backwards.
1. Sandbox server: In the initial stages of any implementation project, You are given a sandbox server where you do all the configuration/customization as per the companies business process.
2. Development Server: - Once the BBP gets signed off, the configuration is done is development server and saved in workbench requests, to be transported to Production server.
3. Production Server: This is the last/ most refined client where the user will work after project GO LIVE. Any changes/ new develpoment is done is development client and the request is transported to production.
These three are landscape of any Company. They organised their office in these three way. Developer develop their program in Development server and then transport it to test server. In testing server tester check/test the program and then transport it to Production Server. Later it will deploy to client from production server.
Presentaion Server- Where SAP GUI have.
Application Server - Where SAP Installed.
Database Server - Where Database installed.

Padmam.

  • Does anyone know how to make Pages type in landscape?

    Hi.
I recently downloaded pages thinking it would be the perfect app to use to take down notes etc whilst at college. But it onlky seems to allow me to type in a portrait mode. I mostly type in landscape cause i find it easier and i can type faster using landscape. I can use "Everynote" app to type in landscape but pages dosnt seem to allow me to even when i try turning my screen. Does anyone know how i can type landscape on pages. If so please comment.
    P.S.
This is on my Iphone 4 that i am using it on.
    Thanks.

pages and numbers do not have landscape mode on iphone and ipod.

  • Can you type in landscape mode after the 2.0.1 update?

I'm just wondering if I can type notes on landscape mode with the new update.

    I just tried it.
Notes are still only added in portrait mode.
    Hope that help

  • Iphone 6 not going to landscape mode while in messages

For some reason when i try to type in landscape mode phone will not go to landscape more I have to close the app multiple times just for it to happen. Also bluetooth not working with any devices. And for some other reason while on FaceTime other people are saying my picture on there end was upside down.. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Also when i double click the home button and try to go back into iMessage the keyboard is no where to be found for a couple of seconds..

Indeed the option to lock to portrait mode is not on in the control panel. The behavior of switching from portrait to landscape works fine in my hand, it's when the phone is in a holder that it does not detect the orientation and adjust accordingly. The iPhone 5 did this with no problem, but on iPhone 6 any app that allows landscape mode starts out in portrait mode and then does not automatically adjust. Rather you have to move the phone back into portrait mode and it's that motion of being re-oriented into landscape mode that finally triggers the switch.

  • PI Landscape

    Hello XI experts,
Iam BASIS guy and working on SAP R/3 4.72 to ECC6 upgrade project.I have few tasks which is related to XI7.0 & SAP ECC&R/3 4.72
Let me put like this current landscape
    SAP R/3 4.72 - DVE QAS PRD
    SAP XI7.0 XD1 XQ1 XWP
Now we are upgrading SAP R/3 4.72 to ECC6 in seperate hardware in parallel ladscape.Copy DVE to another system and different SID ( EC1 ), QAS to (EQ1) and PRD upgrading on same hardware.
So we will have to maintain two landscape parallely till live. And then we will break old source system SAP 4.72 and continue with new systems ECC.
I know as per SAP best practice we need sepearte XI landscape for upgrade landscape instead of same hardware. But customer can not spend money for new hardware and they wanted to go with same hardware.
I will Integrate XD1 to new source system EC1 and similar to QA, but after creating this source system I can see duplicate two technical systems,2 bussiness systems and etc..
After the live we well delete old systems SAP r/3 4.72
How we can handle such type of landscapes? What are the XI activities to perform to use ECC landscape?
Do I need to do any SLD activities like transports and etc..
    - Jim

    Hi Jim,
    You can proceed as below
    1) Configure SLD component for new landscape (DEV/QA).
    2) re-use design objects.
    3) Convigure Directory part for new landscape (Dev/QA).
    4) After testing just change yor prod TS for new landscape.
You need to consider below issues.
    1) Server sizing and subsequent performance to handle two landscape... otherwise all interface testing will fail.
    2) You need to take care of little chaos arise due to this in PI.
one more suggession , go for SAP PI 7.1 ehp 1 for new landscape...

  • Locking Landscape Mode

    1. LOVE my iPhone
    2. I'm old and my fingers are stubby, it is much easier for me to see and type in Landscape mode.
Is there any way at this point "OR" an app that will lock messaging and email in landscape mode?
    Thank you in advanced.

You can't lock landscape mode (or portrait for that matter). You just have to hold it in that position for it to stay landscape. I too wish we had the option to lock in either mode. We can post feedback here... http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
Search here (http://appshopper.com/) for an app that may offer a fixed a landscape keyboard in their messaging app.

  • Solution Manager Landscape Strategy

    Hi Everyone
Can anyone please point me the document that talks
about Solutiom Manager landscape strategy. Is it recommend to
have Sandbox, Dev/QA/Prod  instance of Solutiom Manager or we just need
one instance and connect all other system.
    Thank you

I will add my two cents...
A three SM landscape strategy works pretty good:
#1 - Sandbox Solman - no satellite system connectivity; open access; used for the purposes of testing patches and exploring solman functionality - mostly for basis' purposes.
#2 - 'Development' Solman - only satellite systems that are NOT on the path to production would be connected here - such as a sandbox.  This solman system would be used for configuration of solman itself [example, your solman team would configure solman functionality here].  It is also a good practice environment for PM's because it would have a small landscape attached to it [your sandboxes, remember]?  Migrations start here for solman functionality...
#3 - 'Production' Solman - ALL path to production satellite systems connected here, except your sandboxes [which were connected to #2 remember?].  This system also serves as a target system for migrations that came from #2 [for solman functionality itself],  This is the main solman box that most users will access for project management, blueprinting, config, charm, and so forth.
This type of landscape satisfies ITIL requirements as changes made to solman itself are migrated from #2 to #3; changes are not made directly in the prod box.
    Hope this helps,
    Jen

    hi collysun,
After clicking PRINT button, we get some print parameters to be filled. In those parameters, we need to set FORMAT field for getting landscape format.
For portrait, it is by default X_65_132.
Based on the line-size and line-count mentioned in report, while printing, format which is almost matching the requirement is automatically selected.
SPAD is tcode for checking the print formats.

    Sailaja.
Dont forget to reward points, if the answer helps u.

  • Typing in Landscape

I am creating a document around several master templates.
All of which are fully editable.
However I can not seem to be able to edit the text when using the Landscape Master Template, (The portrait version works exactly as expected)
Is there anything in particular you need to click to be able to type in landscape.
    Thanks

To be able to answer I would be interested what are you doing exactly, what have you tried, what is not working and what do you expect combined with screen shots.

  • SMALL IPHONE ISSUES AS I SEE THEM: Phone, Mail, iChat, Safari, iPod

I love this phone; however, I agree there are some real opportunities for improvement in the software. Many of these (I hope) can be addressed with Software Updates, which Apple has used very well in the past.
    PHONE:
    1) While in a call I can see my contacts, mail, the net, music, but I can't see my RECENT CALLS. I need to be able to see this.
    2) CUSTOM RINGTONES would be so cool, but as some have mentioned, not while I am listening to music. If the phone can be programed to know when I am rocking out and fade out to a beep this would be great. Ringtones would be a major + at all other times when the phone is in any other app but iPod and ready to ring.
    3) VOICE DIALING would also be swell. I hope this can be addressed with software as the touchscreen makes the whole drive and dial thing a little unsafe. Voice search would be cool for iTunes too, as drive and decide on a song is not to easy on the touch screen.
    4) AT&T ***** if you live in the sticks (like me), but we knew this too.
Besides this, I feel the phone is amazing; but, when it comes to the bottom line, this isn't a phone, its a handheld computer that happens to also have cell phone and music capabilities.
    MAIL:
    1) I want to type in LANDSCAPE MODE in Mail like I can in Safari on the iPhone. It would be much easier to type with 2 thumbs this way.
All in all, mail is amazing, especially with it being covered under the unlimited data plan. Sending pictures this way is a big plus, but...
    ICHAT:
    1) I wish I could send photo messages to OTHER MOBILE DEVICES besides iPhones running full-fledge email systems.
    2) Again, LANDSCAPE MODE, lets get this incredible feature into iChat as well, as 2 thumbs really only works this way in my experience.
    3) AIM, AIM, AIM. Enough said... well, not yet; but soon I hope! Yes you can forward them from AIM, but with only 200 texts (standard) and a pretty steep upgrade for unlimited texts when we have UNLIMITED DATA, I thing we should get this; ESPECIALLY if we have to suffer with EDGE. I think AT&T should provide the support for this within our data plans.
    SAFARI MOBILE:
    1) WOW. Safari on iPhone is the real deal.
    2) ADOBE FLASH would be a cool upgrade, but there is still a lot of quicktime.
    3) Lets ditch the mobile site stuff (Bank of America is the one I have noticed). If I can look at the Apple and CNN websites like I can on my computer and even write a review of the iPhone from my iPhone on CNET, why won't sites like BOA let me see, for instance, how much I spent on the iPhone on the 29th on the REAL and MUCH EASIER TO USE SITE when I can look at the real versions of other sites. Well, on second thought, maybe I don't want to see how much I spent on this, but in the future it would be cool to track purchases.
    4) I wish I could use something like TABS on Safari (Apple Button + Click Link). It would be cool if I could hold down on the Multiple Window Button (Bottom right hand corner) and click a link and have it start a new page. We have multi touch capability: I've seen it, used it and loved it in Pictures, so lets get this going here too.
    IPOD:
    1) WOW (again)
    2) If I am looking at an artist, a genre, or a playlist even in standard mode and I flick it into landscape mode I have to see all of the covers in my entire library. This used to be a problem in earlier versions of iTunes so I hope they correct it so I only see the covers of the content in the selected list (artist, genre, playlist, etc.
    3) I wish I could scroll a little faster through coverflow sometimes, but this is small.
    4) I really, really wish that I could download songs from iTunes.
    5) Voice search would be cool if they do get around to voice dialing for the phone.
    OVERALL:
Apple got it VERY good. The device itself is gorgeous, the interface and the apps are genius, and how it all works to together is the best part. Really, Apple just needs to expand on the wonderful features (especially Landscape in Mail and iChat and Multi Touch for multiple windows in Safari), add some more apps (VOICE, AIM, FLASH, ITUNES), and fix some small oversights (especially the coverflow deal in iPod, because if I am looking at the classic rock genre and I switch to coverflow and see 2pac, its kind of weird).
    Really though, I love it.

I agree with you and I just posted a few other items titled "what's missing"

  • Facebook Apps

Is there only one Facebook application? Is this the official one from Facebook itself.
I like the Facebook app that I have but its a shame that you cannot type in landscape and also its a shame that you do not get push notifications through for status updates etc.
I am pretty sure that you can't but if there is someway that you can or if there is a number of facebooks apps please let me know!

There is one FaceBook app, which is provided by FaceBook.
The ability to use the app in landscape mode and push notifications is up to FaceBook to provide with their app.

  • A question about ESS / MSS implementation.

    Hi All,
Just a brief again about our landscape as:
    1. We have an ERP ECC5.0 system which has J2EE6.40(add-in) without the 'EP' usage type and the present Support package level of the relevant ESS and MSS components are as follows:
    a. J2EE6.40 Support Package level is '17'.(We are going to deploy the XSS components here)
    b. ERP ECC5.0 system's Software Components details are as follows:
SOFTWARE COMPONENTS RELEASE LEVEL HIGHEST SUPPORT PACKAGE APPLIED
    SAP_BASIS 640 0016 SAPKB64016
    SAP_ABA 640 0016 SAPKA64016
    SAP_APPL 500 0009 SAPKH50009
    SAP_HR 500 0019 SAPKE50019
    EA-HR 500 0005 SAPKGPHC05
    2. We have a separate NW2004s(Dual stack(ABAP7.0+J2EE7.0) installation having EP7.0 with Support Package level is '16'. (We are going to deploy the Business Package for ESS & MSS here).
    Here are my questions?
    1. what is the best 'Support Package' level recommendation or combination is applicable for all the components(J2EE6.40,SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABA,SAP_APPL,SAP_HR,EA-HR...etc.,) involved in this type of mixed landscape - ESS & MSS implementation?
    2. If we apply the higher Support Packages 'only' for the ERP ECC5.0 software components such as: SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABA,SAP_APPL,SAP_HR,EA-HR - what other ERP ECC5.0 software components would get impacted from functionality prespective ?(let us say if we keep the current Support Package level for other software components as untouched)
    3. Is there any dependency exist from the Support Package point-of-view between the ESS MSS Business Packages and with XSS components(PCUI_GP; ESS; MSS)
    4. Is there any dependency exist from the Support Package point-of-view between XSS components and ERP ECC5.0 software components such as "SAP_BASIS,SAP_ABA,SAP_APPL,SAP_HR,EA-HR"
    Kindly address my above concerns.
    Regards,
    Vijay

    Hi Vijay
    To answer your questions
First you should check note 1007341 which helps consultants proposing this type of landscape
To answer some of your questions
    1) For SPs you have to patch ERP 2004 components following ERP 2004 stack and patch
ERP 2005 components following the ERP2005 stack recommendations at www.service.sap.com/sp-stacks
in terms of equivalence levels I would select SP levels from each stack with similiar release dates
    2) Presumably you will be using ERP2004 components in the front-end in some capacity therefore these
ERP2004 components must be patched in line with ECC 500 stacks
    3) There is dependancies between Business Packages and XSS
    4) There is dependancies between back-end components SAP_HR and EA_HR and XSS/BP
SAP_HR and EA_HR also have their own dependancies with the other back-end components listed
    Best wishes
    Stuart

  • How to delete logical component

How to delete logical component in solution manger 4.0
Am deleting one system eatery in landscape components that time giving one warning?
Is there any option for deleting logical components?
Please give any solution for deleting system& logical components
    Warning is
    (Delete a system despite use
You want to delete the system PRD, but it is still being used.
You cannot delete the system as long as it is still used in logical
Components. The where-used list tells you the logical components which
Use the system. To delete the system, remove it from all logical
       Components first.
You can only delete the system if it is used in system groups. The
Where-used list tells you which system groups use the system.
       Warning
If you delete the system despite use in system groups, you can no longer
Access it in applications (e.g. in the Project Administration, if it is
Used in a system group of type Project Landscape).

    Dear Kiran,
Firstly find out where the system PRD has been added as an Logical System in an Logical Component. Remove the assignment and you should be able to delete the System.
Similarly for deleting an Logical component find out which solutions are referring to the logical component and deassign the Logical Component from the Solutions. You can then safely delete the Logical Components.
You can use the Where Used List button which looks like 3 arrow starting from an single point to different directions to find out the assignments.
    Hope that this helps .

    Hi,
Creating Source System (SALE): This step creates source systems which are to be connected.
    1.
Assigning Source System to Client (SALE): This step gives a logical name to a SAP Client from which the communication is to be established.
    2.
Setting up RFC Destination (SM59): This step is required to establish remote connection to the partner with which Source system is trying to communicate. Here one has to maintain the logon and IP details of the target system.
    3.
Distributing Data Model (BD64): A distribution model is used to model a distributed environment in which you specify messages exchanged between sending and receiving systems. Here one has to define the message protocols with which the two systems will communicate.
    4.
Generating Partner Profile (BD82): This process generates a partner profile for each system with which your system communicates. Outbound records are created in the partner profile for each outgoing message, and inbound records are created for each incoming message.
Note: If one distributes Data Model before generating partner profile then one has to redefine partner profile in other system also (repeat step in both system). In this document we are generating partner profile after Distribution of data model so as to demonstrate how to maintain inbound and outbound message types in WE20.
    5.
Maintaining Message Types (WE20): This process is optional. Generally while generating partner profiles we automatically get the respective Outbound and Inbound messages, which can be checked in T-Code WE20. If the message types are not defined then one can manually do it by following this process.
These steps will ensure that the BW and other source systems are in sync and will communicate as expected.
