Typewriter Speed/Duration

Am I able to slow down the duration of typewriter text more than the duration control will allow? I would like this text to take one minute to type out but even after I've extended the box and scrolled the duration to 120 the text is completely written in 5 seconds. I'm sure I'm missing a step because there has to be a way to make this effect last longer than 5 seconds. Can anyone help me with this?

As I mentioned in your previous post the only way to accomplish what you want to do is to modify the title in motion. The timing is a rigged parameter in a sequence text behavior. The value/duration of the widget has to be changed in order to slow down the rate at which the text is typed.

  • Using Speed / Duration At Points In a Clip

    Hi,
    Great forum!
I am using Premier Pro (v6.x) and I've a clip that is ten seconds in length. Between the four and eight second mark I need to use Speed/Duration to slow this down to ~10% of the original speed. How is this accomplished?
Many thanks and keep up the great work!
    Mark

    Clip 1a: up to 4 s.
Clip 1b: 4 - 8 s and apply duration or time remapping for the slomo.
    Clip 1c: from 8 s onwards.
You can razor the clips or use keyframes or use a copy from 4 -8 s, apply the slomo and replace the original. Many ways to achieve this.

  • Speed/Duration info not preserved when importing from Premier Pro to After Effects (CS3)

After succesfully importing my PP project into AE and adding effects, I realised that all clips in PP which had speed/duration adjustments resulted in blank black screens after rendering out on AE.
I then imported the AE composition into PP as a new project and the clips with any changes to speed were stilll black/blank.
I made changes to the speed of individual clips by right clicking on the clip  an changing Speed/Duration.
Any help would be appreciated, fellas - thank you!

Incase anyone else is having this same issue I have discovered what was causing the problem. Apparently the program Hear by Joesoft is incompatible with the MediaCore service. Only after uninstalling Hear was I able to run these programs again.

  • Export Problems with Speed/Duration

    Hi guys,
I'm pretty new to working with video and i'm learning Premiere CS5 at the moment.
I've imported my video, rendered scenes from Cinema4d and composited in After Effects.
    I exported at PAL DV 720x576 25fps.
Anyhow, i've brought it into Premiere and added a soundtrack and have been playing around with cuts and
changing the speed and duration of some parts and reversing other sections.
I've exported it using the Mov - PAL DV Widescreen option and all was fine until about the 6th or 7th
export test. Now all of a sudden the parts of the movie that have speed changes or time changes are
coloured blue? They look like they're negative for some reason?
I've done some tests exporting directly as H.264 and things seem ok.
I've even created a new sequence using the same video and did a reverse and time change on it
    and it exports fine.
I can't understand what the problem is. The preview is fine but now even the .Mov icon is blue! lol
    Any advice please guys?

    Mac OSX 10.6.4
    2x3 GHz quad-core Intel Xeon

    *Bump* please!

  • Speed/Duration Audio Issues

Disclamer: I am not PC - I use the word "Native" meaning orginal, NOT to be confused with Indian.
    Situation:
I have a 15 min video clip that I sped up to 115%. The new duration is now 13min.  On the timeline I right click to select the "Speed/Durration" option and increase my video clip speed to 115% of native speed 100%.  I select the "Maintain Audio Pitch" and "Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailling clips".
Select Okay and Premiere Pro CC does a great job of speeding up the clip and the audio.
However, the audio doesn't shound normal and clean like the native audio clip does. Faster, yes but not clean.
Example 2 of what I'm trying to acheeve: At the end of a raido/tv commercial there is a soundbite of disclamers that speeks very fast. like speed talking?
it's almost like the audio has been sped up 200 of native.
    Question and Goal:
My goal is to create the same audio clarity at 115% as to the native audio.
Q: How? How do the PRO's do it?
    Greatly appreciated folks.
I can be contacted by emial at [email protected]
    Thank you.

I also had this problem and it seems that by doing a factory data reset (once the upgrade is installed), they work again.   I also contacted my local Verizon store and they didn't even realize it was a problem.
Just make sure you back everything up with your preferred method and then after the factory reset, re-sync your phone.
Hopefully this will also solve your problem.
Maybe I'm dumb, I've done a bit with my Droid Eris, but I have no clue how to back up the phone (especially my apps, god forbid I would have to re-download all of those) I'm sure my phone could use a hard reset, I seem to have a problem that my phone randomly turns its sounds off, i.e.. no sound when phone rings, can't hear peoples voice and vice-versa. The only way I've been able to solve that problem as of yet is just to power off and back on again.
My phone needs the help of Jesus himself! Or just someone who knows what their doing a little better than myself.

  • Speed Duration feature causes graphic fault (nVidia 6800GT)

Hi, in CS4, I'm finding that doing anything that effects the clip's speed causes the following graphic fault:
Scrubbing through the effected video shows the wrong image in the monitor (as if no speed effect had been applied)
It's only when you actually play it that it displays the actual image.
XDCAM 720/60p (interpretted as 25p) -plays naturally slow motion no problem, but this issue occurs when I speed the clip up.
It makes it impossible to do frame accurate editing, and is generally very hard to work with.. any help or ideas really appreciated!

    >These questions are not applicable:
They are indeed applicable. Having a capture card integrated with PPro can (and does) make PPro behave differently, hence the need for us to know those kinds of details.
However, since you know better than us, I'm moving on. :)
    Cheers

  • Speed/Duration with Field Rendered AVI

I have field rendered AVI movies with audio. When I change the speed of the clips and then export to MPEG2, put the file on a DVD, the fields are messed up in the faster part. Is there a way to speed up clips that have fields? I understand that some quality will be lost, but I just don't want it to shake.
    Thanks

thanks, turning Frame Blend Off fixed the problem.
BTW, I mentioned that it was field rendered because I work with animation and we can render with or without fields.

  • Random speed/duration. Need help please

I was wondering if there is a script for random animation
speed. For example, I want to create a movieclip that has random
speed from one tween to the next. This way, I can have multiples of
the same moveiclip on the stage and they'll appear more diverse.
I'm not sure how this would be done. Would the fps have to speed up
    or something else?
    thank you for any help.

I am presuming that these animations are time line.
I would suggest using a setInterval to control your
animations, as you can vary the frame rate dynamically
put a stop() action on every frame of your animations.
then create a setInterval that loops through all your
animations and sends them to the next frame at different rates.
you could also put a variable in certain frames to indicate
that you want to create a new random nextframe rate.

  • Question about Speed/duration

Hi, I'm making a small video clip with photos. The photo's are6 seconds long and I want to cut them down to about 4 seconds. Right now I'm selecting them one by one and changing the duration of them to 4 seconds. Is there any easier way for me to do this?
I'm also putting a video transition between every photo in the clip, is there any way that I can select all of them and add the transition to all of them at the same time?
    Thankful for help.

I tried this today, ( Automate to sequence )
with 200 images for a test.
    images were named 00.jpg, 002.jpg 003.jpg etc.....
Premiere will import them, but not in the correct order. I removed them all, and tried again, still not the same order.
I then only imported 20 images, and still - it will not import them in the correct order.
Any reason this would be happening ?
    Dave.

  • How to adjust audio duration/speed over time?

I watched a video on how to adjust video duration/speed over time, using time remapping and keyframes, but it does not seem to affect audio for some reason. Is there a way to adjust the speed/duration of audio over time like you can with video?

Oh you need to do it in AE? That's... kinda.. unneeded but okay. Thanks!

  • How to increase framerate without changing speed or duration

I would like to increase the fps of my flash project without
altering the speed/duration. I could go through and add frames, but
this will take far too long.It there some way to stretch frames
    across the timeline?

You have to separate your step1 and step2 into two parallel loop.
If you put the two tasks in one loop, the lower speed task will affect the loop speed.
So that the program won't achieve the top speed.
Is continuous acquisition required for your application? Can sequence acquisition or finite acquisition be your workaround?
The memory handling in continuous acquisition is way a lot more difficult than finite acquisition.
I would suggest you to figure out how finite acquisition work and then jump into the continuous acquisition application.

  • Changing multiply clip duration/speed

I have about 80 .jpeg images for which I would like to alter ALL their speed/durations from 5 seconds to 3.  I know how to
do this clip-by-clip in the timeline but it takes too long to do.  Does anyone know how to do this en-mass? thanks

"Speed" will be grayed out, as you're changing a still image and a still image can't have a "speed". However, "Duration" should be yellow hot-text that you can drag and change, or click to enter a specific value. The only thing I can think of is if you selected clips with different durations (i.e. you already changed one of them), the "Duration" value will be just a single hyphen/dash; it's kind of small but you can click that and change the value.

  • Re: Change duration of multiple still images in one operation

I have done this in Premiere CS6. Make sure your selection Tool is selected. Click and drag to select the multiple slides that are ALREADY placed in your timeline that you want to change. Right click on your selection (make sure it's a regular mouse cursor and not a red editing tool) and click "Speed/Duration." Change the duration by clicking and dragging the yellow numbers. You can also type it in if need be. Keep in mind that it is in Hours:Minutes:Seconds:Fractions Seconds. Be sure that "Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips" is checked otherwise you will get gaps between photos if cutting down the time or nothing will happen if you are increasing the duration. Click OK.

Are you in the wrong forum?
You have posted in the Premiere Elements Forum, not Premiere Pro Forum, commenting with CS6 information on a 2009 Premiere Elements question in 2014..
There is no "Ripple Edit, Shifting Trailing Clips" in Premiere Elements.
    Please review and consider.

  • Problem Importing Sequence and Changing Speed

Got a good one.  I imported 2 sequences into a new project, but when I try to change the speed to anything over 100%, the end of the clip is black.  If I try cutting this part out, what happens is the black screen increases, chopping off more of the clip/sequence!!!  I've tried everything, and I know it has to do with the sequence being imported, but is there a workaround for this??  I've even tried putting a title/image in another video track, and same thing happens - more black screen, that cuts off even more of the clip.  Help please!!

    4) clicking on "speed/duration", and changing the speed to, let's say "125%",
Ok, back to my question of post 1.  Where exactly are you doing this?  To the individual clips, or to the nested sequence?
I suspect the former, given the results.  And this is perfectly normal.  When you speed up the footage, it takes less time and creates a shorter sequence, but the nest doesn't automatically shrink to compensate, so the last bit of it will be black.  It's no different than if you were to remove a couple of clips from the original sequence.  All you need do is trim the nested sequence back to the last frame of footage.
Or you could make the speed changes first and then nest it afterwards.  Then there would be no black.  (And this is what you were seeing when you went back to the first project and changed it there.  The end result was that the speed changed before you nested.  The black only shows up when you shorten the original after nesting.)
So, bottom line, everything is working normally.  You were just unaware of how it worked.

  • Always 100% Opacity after changing the clip speed.

I have a big compositing problem with Premiere CC.
After I change the speed of a clip to slow motion, I can't change the opacity anymore...
I set keyframes from 100 to 0 %. It only works with my ProRes HQ Files in normal speed.
Does anybody know this bug or have an idea???

It actually works fine here, even without nesting, using both Speed/Duration and Time Remapping.
Though I can't test with ProRes.
