Typing info. on a PDF

I am sent applications and other forms that are needed to be filled out on a daily bases.  I have been able to add text to a PDF for months if not a total year & now I can't.  Has something changed? Am I missing something? I even repurchased thinking that it had expired, please advise!!!

It's odd but it seems like a lot of people are not attaching files when they think they are. Seemed pretty simple to me but I wonder if it's some sort of usability or technical issue we're looking at.

  • Typing info on a pdf form

I have a pdf form that is supposed to be filled in with personal particulars, but I can't seem to fill it all in. I got as far as my name and address, but then the bloody thing wouldn't let me do any more typing in the required spaces.
Does anyone know how in the heck you fill in these pdf forms. I know I'm from the land down under, but we only speak Australian not chinese.
Any help will be gratefully received.
Oh by the way I'm trying out this new Adobe 9 Pro and so far it's as useless as tits on a bull

  • Typed info remain in fields even if you leave page...

    Hi,
Is it possible for end-user's typed info and selections from an e-form to remain if they decide to go to a different page on the site to read more and then return to the form to complete it?
Or will the info inevitably disappear once the person leaves the page due to the browser automatically refreshing the page? Can you tell me more about this? (pros + cons)
    Thanks,
    Christine

This can be done with JavaScript event handlers and cookies.

Once i open a site that has a link to another page that is a pdf based page the page comes up as a black screen with no info showing
If I open a site that gices me an open to save a file to a word, excel type document or a pdf , everything works fine until I try to save the information to a PDF and again the screen goes black
I have tried the safari help site but to no avail, does anyone have a solution to thid problem. (I do have the abode ofr mac program loaded)

If you delete all the Adobe Reader stuff it will probably fix this. For almost everything, the Apple pdf handling works better.

  • Typing information into a pdf document

    adobe reader version 8.1.2
I had an employment application sent to me as a pdf attachment to an email.
I can open it with the above adobe reader installed on my laptop, but I want to fill out the application by typing in the blanks provided in it.
How or can I do this? Advise what steps to fill, ie type in, the blanks, like name, address, etc. in the application.
    Thanks

If you can't type in the application just by clicking in it, then it
wasn't prepared for you to do that. The people who made the form are
just saving postage, and expect you to print it out and fill it in by
    hand.

  • Need help on remote printing info for custom PDF form...

    Hi,
I did quite a lot of search on this requirement but failed to access the correct info in this forum. In case anyone has already done this, please do explain and point to the right link. thanks
I have a custom table where I will maintain every customer's email id, printer name (printer in his network where he wants me to print this PDF output, there can be multiple printers separated by comma) and his fax number.
Question 1: For remote printing, what all details do I need to maintain in my custom table regarding that  printer (IP address or what ?? )? Also, any other configuration to be done to make this happen ?
Question 2: In my code how do I trigger my ADOBE form to be sent to that remote printer for printing ?
    Currently I have done
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
    CALL FUNCTION z_FUNCNAME
    CALL FUNCTION 'FP_JOB_CLOSE'
As of now, the print dialog opens and i can see the adobe output in the print preview option. This is OK for me when I want to do local printing. But how do I trigger the remote printing automatically based on the values in the custom table.
This is purely a custom transaction based printing and hence no output determination is configured .
Apologies if this question is repetitive, but I fail to assimilate the required info from the forum.
    thnks

    resolved.thanks

  • Books: Sorting PDF's / Using info fields with PDF's

Since it is possible to manage PDF's in iTunes, I've been importing quite a few (well, just drag and drop). So far, I just changed the Name field to the title of the article or book, the Artist field to the authors name, and picked an appropriate genre.
Since the info fields aren't really made for books and articles, I'm wondering which fields to use for publisher and series information.
    Anybody experimented with this already?

You may try the VBScript in that discussion:
    http://forums.adobe.com/message/3796931#3796931
If it works change your *.net script to that.
If it not work try to get another one to test it on Acrobat X.
Should be simple because VBS run's on every Win-PC.

  • Prefilling Info on FormsCentral PDF

    Hello everyone!
I was hoping someone would be able to help me with an issue I am having with my FormsCentral fillable PDF.
I am trying to create a questionnaire that can be completed by our clients and submitted online. I have everything ready to go on my custom made form, but I am now trying to figure out if there is any way that to have select info (Ie. Name, phone number etc) prefill so that our clients are aware of the info we currently have on file and can advise of any changes. Our current quesitonnaire prefills from our client database and prints out a word document that is mailed out. Going electronic would save us trees and money!
I am trying to determine if there is any way that this can be done, otherwise this isn't going to work like my boss wants.
I would really appreciate any help!
    Thank you!
    Jordyn

    Hi;
There isn't anything in FormsCentral to enable or automate this workflow.
You can certainly save the PDF of the form yourself and save a copy for each customer with the data pre-filled (by you) and then distribute each of those customized PDFs to the users.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • How to extract the Title info from multiple PDFs

Is there a utility or some program that will extract the Title info (located in the Title field under the Description tab from Document Properties)? I have hundreds of PDFs that I would like to be able to have extracted into some txt file or excel file. Any ideas? Thanks!

I was working on something similar but haven't had time to fully develop it.
My idea was to use an envelope detector (low pass filter) and then use an energy detection VI on the envelope.

  • Need info on adobe pdf generator

    Hi,
We are evaluvating a tool to convert word document to pdf for our prestegious client.
    Below are requirements,
    Requirement 1:
    Source- MS Word document
    Target- PDF
    1) Conversion of MS Word document to PDF through online. Here Word document content don't follow any specific layout disagn.
User wants pdf format should be as same as Word document including font, file layout, header, footer.
    2) Target Pdf should dynamically generate content while reading  word document. i.e it has to replace <placeholders> with the data read from DB.
    3) Target Pdf should also merge some other pdf documents during conversion
    Requirement 2:
    Source- PDF
    Target- PDF
    1) User will provide PDF which has user data aswell as <placeholders>. We need to replace the <placeholders> with the data read from DB & generate PDF.
Please let us know which adobe tool would suite better for above said requirements.
Note: From my initial analysis  I found 'LiveCycle PDF Generator ES ' and 'LiveCycle Output ES2' are suitable to 'Requirement 1'. Please let me know your comments on this.
    Thanks,

I've not seen a response from others, so I'll chime in.  If the answers are not in sufficient detail, I can find someone else to go to the next level.
Requirement 1: The key thing to keep in mind is that PDF Generator is a server-based framework around word, at least for the word to PDF part of its functionality.
1-1) Conversion of Word to PDF...  PDF Generator does this well.  Note that it will require the installation of MS Office or will use Open Office. Given your fidelity requirement, you probably want to use Office.
1-2) The integration of dynamic data is less clear.  PDFG does not support this directly, as we use MS Office. I'm not a Word expert, but if you can pull of the dynamic content access and have the appropriate access paths available from Office as it is deployed on the server.
31-3) Both Output and PDF Generator use a common service called Assembler for the merge. This should be an easy usecase.
Requirement 2: Generation of PDF from a template.
The best product for you is LiveCycle Output. It will take a template from LiveCycle designer, either static of dynamic, and create PDF at moderate volumes. I'd suggest that you look at Designer, including its template import facilities, and then consider how you can get the data for your placeholders into XML format. Output is then quite easy to do the data merge, formatting, and PDF generation.

  • How can I take info from a PDF file on iPhone 5.

    Hi
I get work related PDF files on my I phone 5
But to take the telephone number off the viewing file island put it into the phone is very cumbersome especially when out all day.
On my bb I could see the viewing file and text version which would allow me to call the number straight from there.
Is there a way of doing this on the I one 5 please !Thanks

Yes. It's such a pain to copy and paste the number in the PDF file and put into the phone. Bb would high light the number and call.
Is there a way to view the file as text. When you get an SMS if someone sends a number it's highlighted. You tap it and you get option to call or cancel. Thats what i need from the PDF please

  • How to combine typed text from several pdf files into 1 (not comments)

I have a fillable pdf form that people can type answers to questions into, then save the pdf into an electronic file. Sticky notes are not used, as this pdf was created using Adobe LiveCycle Designer's text field (that is what they type into). I am wondering if there is a way to combine all peoples' answers from the text field all into one pdf document just like you can do to combine all sticky note comments into one single pdf. This is not a LiveCycle Designer type question. Thank you for your help!

You would have to flatten or print each filled form to a new file and then combine. If you try to combine multiple filled forms directly, you will end up with all of the pages having the same information since all the fields on each form have the same name. Since the form was create in Designer, you may only be able to print in Acrobat. Otherwise, you would probably have to do the changes in Designer. Once you have a file in Designer, you can no longer edit it in Acrobat and that is why the Acrobat route would probably require a print to the Adobe PDF printer for each form.

  • Need info on livecycle pdf generator

    Hi,
       My requirment is:
Convert different image file and word document file (.doc,.docx) to pdf and merge to a single pdf and display it to the client over the net.
I think I can use Livecycle Pdf generator to fulfill my requirment.
      My question is:
1 can  use pdf generator standalone i mean with out other services,?
2 I will integrate This with java,so where can I find referance material? Is there any lib file?
3 amd most important question is what is the price of livecycle pdf generator?
                           Waiting for a response...
                                                                                                                                                 Thank you,
                                                                                                                                                  Barun barik

1 - Yes, sort of.   The LiveCycle products require the LiveCycle foundation classes to run, but you don't need to install the other modules (Forms, ReaderExtensions, etc).  With Generator you will get some "common" modules, such as Assembler.  To merge two documents in the manner you mentioned, you will use Assembler.
2 - Yes.  LiveCycle modules run on a J2EE platform and have a full Java API.  The client jar files come with the product.  Java Documentation can be found online at:http://help.adobe.com/en_US/livecycle/9.0/programLC/javadoc/index.html
Samples can be found at: http://www.adobe.com/devnet/livecycle/samples.html
3 - Price and licensing are too broad a topic to discuss in the forums.  It will depend on the request volume (which effects the # CPUs), corporate discounts, existing Adobe products, etc.  Your Adobe Sales Representative is best qualified to give you a quote based on your needs.

  • Typing into body of PDF

    Hi,
Can you add text to the body of a PDF, e.g. I create a
document in InDesign, export it to PDF and email it to a client to
amend the text in the document. Can they type/delete straight onto
the text area or can they only make annotations with stickies etc?
If they can, is it possible to do this if the client has only
Adobe Reader or do they need the full Acrobat?
    Thanks,
    Mark

Thank you for your post. These forums are specific to the
Acrobat.com website and its set of hosted services, and do not
cover the Acrobat family of desktop products. Please visit the
following forums for any questions related to the Acrobat family of
    desktop products:
    http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bbeda8b/
Note: You would need a full version of Acrobat to make
changes to a document and then save those changes, unless the
document has been previously enabled by an Adobe LiveCycle Reader
    Extensions Server.
