Typing is very slow in PDF forms

Hello,
My end user's are having issues with typing in downloaded forms. Each time they type into the form, it takes a good 3-5 seconds for each letter to show up. Not sure what is causing this, any ideas? Thanks in advance
Oscar

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
 Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • In Adobe Reader (11.0) the typing is very slow when I insert sticky notes.

I bought a new laptop and I just installed the latest version of Adobe Reader.
When I insert sticky notes, typing is very slow. This doesn't happen with the
other program. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. I still have the same problem.

This phenomenon can happen with PDF files that have errors in them.  Adobe Reader or Acrobat may be able to fix these errors, but if you close the application, it will ask to save the corrected file.  If you save it once, that should no longer occur when you open it again.
This is just one explanation, but it doesn't explain why that happens with every PDF you have.
Test: does it also happen with a PDF that is not supposed to contain any errors: http://helpx.adobe.com/pdf/adobe_reader_reference.pdf ?

  • I just instaled firefox 4 on my Acer netbook with Windows Vista Basic. Now the typing is very slow, ie. cannot keep up with my typing speed, which is not fast. Any ideas?

I have an Acer netbook, with 2GB ram and Vista Basic. I installed firefox 4 and now the machine cannot keep up with my typing. The letters are delayed appearing on the screen in all apps, but especially in email, and words just get lost if I type too fast, and I am not a fast typist. Should I remove firefox 4?

Have you tried updating your software? The issue with the keys will either be a software issue or an issue with your hardware, if you're on the newest software try re-installing it. It's very simple to do using the desktop software, if this does not work it seems to be a hardware issue, meaning repair or replacement is needed.
Also, updating/re-installing your software should also resolve any slow/freezing issues and hopefully stop your dialling problem.
    Hope this helps

  • Very slow opening PDF files from Windows Explorer

When I open a file from within Acrobat X Standard - whether through File>Open or the recent files list - the file opens very quickly.  When I open a PDF file from Windows Explorer, it takes 10 seconds or longer for the file to open.  Is this an Acrobat issue or a Windows/system problem?  (I don't experience the same delay when opening Word and Excel files from Windows Explorer.)

I had to install adobe reader, but   PDF's used to display just fine with IE, any idea what happened ?
    Windows 8.1 pro.

  • Very slow with PDF

I use Adobe Reader to open files but it takes so long, is it normal ?

    Hi
PDF loading depends on the size of the file and your cable speed. With that said, personally, I prefer letting PDF's open via Safari/Preview. I find it quicker than using Adobe's plug-in. Size adjustments etc. to the PDF are handled via contextual menu commands (right click or control key/click).
One way to test the difference in speed is to first open a PDF, timing the load. Then, quit Safari. Go to the Finder and move to the desktop the AdobePDFViewer.plugin from your Internet Plug-ins folder. Then go to the Adobe Reader preferences>Internet, unchecking "display PDF etc." Restart Safari and try a PDF.

My Mac is very slow printing pdf files on my hp laserjet p2055dn.  I have noticed fixes for this problem for people using Windows.  Is there a Mac solution?

Do you want to create PDF files using Java? If so, there is a library available at http://www.lowagie.com/iText/docs.html Check out this site. There are many more similar PDFGEnerator tools that you can use..

  • New T61 TP running very slow

New to this board, so patience please!
3 weeks ago purchased a new T61 w/2.0GHz Intel duo core, 2 GB RAM and a 150GB HDD.  Running XP Pro.  Like the weight and feel but the performance is very, very slow.  Takes 3-5 minutes to boot and when toggling between programs (ie: Outlook to Excel to IE) takes 30 sec - 1 minute to switch.
Have run "services.msc" and note there are 60+ services running! Anyone know why so many are running and which are non-essential?  Have also disabled most of start-up options via msconfig.  Still running very slow.
My former Asus W7 was much faster (but the battery life was very poor.  And not nearly as rugged as the Lenova).
Any help much appreciated.  Need speed!
    Regards,  Chris

Newer ThinkPads are coming with loads of stuff you don't need: Trials for Office 2007, Picassa, and a plethora of other tools you may or may not need ALL with auto updates turned on and ALL trying to update at the same time when you start.
So the second thing to do once indexing is complete is to look through Add Remove Programs, and uninstall what you do not need. For example, I did not need:
    Office 2007 Trial (I use Office 2003)
    Picassa (I don't need it)
Symantec Trial License (Good product, but I have a Corp. license)
    CSS (disable)
ThinkVantage Updater (A tool that has NEVER worked properly)
Further, I turned off (prevented from starting) a number of things like Sonic update, and then turned off the update functions in a number of other tools (SUN Java, Adobe, Windows Auto Update, and so on). Automatic updates can really slow down a machine.
Also, in Internet Explorer, reduce (by 75 percent or more) the amount of cache it sets aside for temporary files. Once that was all done, the T60 I was working on starts reasonable quickly (as fast as needed) and performs very well.

  • Submitting a PDF form --- save and send completed PDF document?

A small government site has a number of 'submittable' PDF
    form documents
that they'd like me to include on the website. I am not very
    familiar
with PDF forms in this way, and hope someone here can help
    sort out a
    few things...
Can a PDF form be submitted so that
    a) the completed PDF doc is saved on the server (and renamed)
    b) a printable , completed PDF (looks just like the one they
    filled out,
with all their values saved in the input boxes) is emailed to
    specific
    address
    c) the raw user data is saved to database (maybe a list of
    fields in one
column of a db table, and a matching list of values in
    another? this
would just be for backup in case the completed PDF did not
    save
correctly to the server, or for later reference)
We've looked at the standard Acrobat 'submit via email' and
    that won't
cut it... that method appears to simply trigger a 'mailto'
    popup, with
the pdf as an attachment. Our system needs to be automated
    via CFmail.
None of these would handle any 'sensitive' information, the
    main
concern, from their part, is people being able to submit the
    form and
have both the city office and the recipient get a copy that
    prints just
as if they had hit 'print' when filling out the actual PDF.
Is all of this possible ??
    if so... any tips appreciated!

  • Emailing a completed active PDF form using a Submit buttom? (Acrobat XI Pro.)

I have created a very large active PDF form with hundreds of fields, with text boxes, drop downs, radio buttons, check boxes and I think the kitchen sink. But for the life of me I cannot figure out how to create a Submit button that will send the completed form to an email address that is set to print anything that hits it.
I have read so much on it that I'm thoroughly confused. Do I need a script, is there a method through Acrobat menus I'm missing, or am I barking at the moon? Any help just getting me going in the right direction would be appreciated more than I could even say. Thanks!

Simply add a button and set it's Mouse Up action to "Submit a Form" and use a mailto type URL and specify that the complete PDF is sent. If it needs to work with Reader prior to version 11, it will additionally need to be Reader-enabled: File > Save As Other > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More Tools
Note that emailing is unreliable compared to submitting to a web server, and it's difficult to make secure, which is relatively easy with a web server.

  • Very Slow Firefox

Hi! I have recently been experiencing problems with Firefox - new tabs take ages to appear, navigating through tabs is a drag, videos do not play properly, typing is very slow, the thinking ball appears randomly etc. By now I am quite frustrated, especially since deleting cache and cookies twice, or restarting my Mac twice did not seem to help. Performance improves for a bit, but then is back to its slow self. I ran EtreCheck (output below), but do not know how to decrease its process memory usage (if that is the problem). Finally, this has never happenned before.

EDIT: Oh, and you have very little free RAM and lots of Page Outs. So, in fact, first thing to do is to simply restart and only have FF open and test.
First thing to do is to start FF in Safe Mode and see how it's working. This will temporarily disable all Add-ons and use a clean Profile. If it's running OK there, then it's time to look at your Add-ons to find a culprit, or start with a new clean Profile.
Hold down the Option (alt) key when opening FF.
You should also get rid of the steam clean thing. Those cleaning programs, if that's what this thing is, are dangerous and not needed.

  • Adobe Reader 11.0.37 - very slow printing

Hello, i installed version 11.0.37 on windows server 2003  ( SP2 ) and my print performance is very slow ( only pdf files ) - previous a had Adobe Reader 9 and everything works fine. I use Citrix. Users are connected directly to the xenapp servers , and print performance is very slow ( takes 2 or more minuts until printing starts )

Hi, yesterday i installed update 11.0.5....it did not help any other ideas ?

  • HT1688 My iphone 4 is very slow since the IOS upgrade.  What can I do to bring it back to the speed it was prior to this upgrade ?

My iphone 4 is very slow sine the IOS upgrade.  What can I do to bring it back to the way it was before the upgrade.  It's turtle speed now!

I forgot to mention earlier: if you find that on-screen typing is very slow to register  then you might try logging out of iCloud and iTunes and the App Store in Settings/iCloud/[Delete Account] and Settings/iTunes and App Store/Apple ID [Sign Out]. Then reset the phone (press sleep/wake and home buttons together and hold until Apple logo appears), and then log back into iCloud and iTunes and the App Store in Settings again.

  • I have a PDF form (50 Pages) to fill out.  I'm trying to use Adobe Reader, it is very slow having to tag Fill & Sign on each line.  How can I accomplish this task quicker?

What is the best tool to fill out a PDF form, (50 pages). I have Adobe Reader, & Acrobat XI Pro; at least I think I do, Acrobat XI Pro may need to be installed.

Is it a fillable form? That is one where you can just type into it because it was prepared that way? If not, it is absolutely unreasonable to expect it to be filled on screen. Print it and write on it.
