Typing one letter in english while using other language keyboard

I'm new to mac comp, just moved from PC...
On my PC, when I was using Hebrew keyboard, I could press Shift+english letter and it was typing only this letter in english and then continue with hebrew.
How do I do it on mac??

Use the layout called Hebrew PC (instead of Hebrew or Hebrew Qwerty). To add it, use the plus and add buttons in system prefs/keyboard/input sources.

you can try a soft reset, or u can try to turn it off and then back on. Or take it to the apple store and see what they say about it. Hope this helps

Ability to use other languages while typing

Owner of bold 9930. Would like to add other languages (Greek, Turkish) to the blackberry. Unfortunately they don't come as default and I want to use them when I communicate with other people in their native language.
How can I Accomplish that? Thank you

Playing Clips/Sequences in background, while using other application?

I am working for a reality TV show and we are trying to take notes in Microsoft Word while the editors sequences are playing.
Is there any way to change the preferences so that Final Cut will play a clip or a sequence while we are using another application, like Word.
I know that quicktimes will play while I use other applications but will Final Cut do the same thing?

The program is not so sophisticated as to track both sequence TC and clip TC.
If you need Clip TC, as Michael notes, just open them individually in Notetaker. Be sure to add other info Like Reel Name (number) on your own. The program doesn't seem to read the additional info fields that you add in FCP.
While not perfect, it does offer a slick way to create review notes for easy communication.
I understand one of the Adobe Premiere collaborative tools includes a note taking extension. I reportedly creates a file that can be imported by another person and will place markers on the timeline with the comments.
I suppose if someone were very capable with XML scripting, they could do the same thing with a text file containing TC markers and be able to import that into a project ....

Keeping Keynote Full Screen while Using Other Apps

Hello,
I searched around and wasn't able to find much of anything on this topic anywhere. I am looking to do Keynote presentations in full screen. While the presentation is in full screen I would like to use other applications on the display which I can see.
I activated the preference to allow other things like Expose control the screen, but when I switch applications it takes Keynote out of full screen mode. Anybody have any ideas as to how to keep it in full screen mode while in a different application? Thanks.

Depending on how you have your displays arranged, you might be able to use Dashboard on your presenter display while the presentation is running (you may need to use this technique to get that to work properly). However, as I understand it, applications do not come with the ability to float over Keynote by default, but must be explicitly written to do so. I therefore doubt that any off-the-shelf app will be useable directly in this way.

Is there an app that will enable me to use emoji or emotions while using a bluetooth keyboard?

I have a Logitech keyboard and while I love this keyboard/cover - I just realized - I can't find a way to access the installed Emoji app I have like when I use the on-screen keyboard. When I'm using my bluetooth keyboard does this mean I have to give up Emoji?

Are you using a separate App, or the Emoji keyboard built into iOS6?
Although I don't have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard, I tested with an Apple Bluetooth keyboard, iOS6, built in Emoji.
I was able to bring up the onscreen keyboard with the Eject button (upper right above the delete key) and using the onscreen keyboard I was able to press the World key to switch to the Emoji onscreen keyboard. As the Emoji "keyboard" is so graphic (switching images and selecting them) I had to use the onscreen option to select the desired Emoji.
Once the onscreen keyboard was visible, I could also change between keyboards with "Command - Space" on the Bluetooth keyboard.
So the questions become, does the Logitech keyboard have a media eject key? and does it bring up the onscreen keyboard? If not, does any other function key bring it up?
Let me know if that works. Like I said, I don't have a Logitech keyboard so I wonder how universal these options are.

Pages uses other language than rest of iWork

Hello there,
since upgrading to Lion, Pages is in German, although Numbers and Keynote are both in English, just as my system is running in English language.
I have not found out how to change Pages to English, therefore I hope the community can help.

Pages like Numbers and all other applications uses the languages that is set in the System Preferences. It shouldn't be any difference.
Have you done any maintenance of the system after the upgrading to Lion??

If you are talking about typing messages, emails, notes, etc., go to Settings | General | Keyboard | International Keyboards | Add New Keyboard. Add the keyboards for any languages listed that you may wish to use. When you are using the keyboard, a small globe will appear to the left of the space bar. Each time you touch it, it will cycle to another of your chosen keyboards.

GPS Tracking program that continues to track while using other iPhone apps

Does anyone know of a GPS tracking app for the iPhone 3G that will continue to track while listening to music or answering calls? The few apps I've tried quit logging when you change to another app.

Thanks - hopefully Apple will address this soon. I'm not willing to hack/jailbreak my phone just to get this functionality.
One last dig:
This is the unfortunate reason that I've stayed away from Apple for so long. They make WOW stuff that is pretty and neat to use as long as you stay inside the "box" so to speak. I guess I'll have to take my old blackberry running with me - it can play music AND track your run with GPS. Who would want to do that?

Music breaks up while using other programs

I recently downloaded the latest update for itunes and started listening to my music like I always do but when I started using the internet (scrolling down a website to be precise) the music broke up and sounded more like static than music. It also happened when I enlarged the size of a blank "canvas" of a drawing program. Then after a while the coarse static sound stays, even if I restart the itunes program. It has never done this before and I was wondering if re-downloading and re-installing the latest itunes was a) possible and b) a plausible solution. And if not, what would be?
I was looking for the itunes support email for direct help. Couldn't find it, suspect there isn't one. Is there one?

There's some suggestions in this thread about about how this can be worked around.
I haven't tried it because (and I still can't quite believe it) after switching the player into Mini mode - Advanced>Switch to Mini player - it stopped happening. Even if I go back to full screen mode now it seems fine.
Weird. Hope somebody else finds the same thing. I haven't tried rebooting or anything yet, so it might come back. No more time to spend on it - I've got work to do!

LaserJet 200 color MFP printer - one laptop can print while the other laptop at home can't.

My boyfriend and I set up the LaserJet 200 color MFP printer at home and installed the software on both our laptops. I have a Dell Inspiron 700m and he's got the Lenovo T400. I have been able to print any time from my laptop, but my boyfriend has only been able to print one document and after that there is a printer error and is not able to print nor troubleshoot. I uninstalled and re-installed the software one more time, and again, he was only able to print one document and after that, printer error again (does not specify error). Meanwhile, I continue to be able to print without a problem. Anything I may be overlooking? Any help will be appreciated.

What OS are you using?
Which of the LaserJet 200 series printers do you have? There are several in that series and I want to make sure I'm helping with the right one.

ITunes store needed in english while in other country

US Soldier staioned in Germany. Every time I long onto Itunes and being up the store it's in German, probley dectecting my use of german interent lines and the time zone setting on my computer. I can't buy any music I can't read, or even navagter the site.
I've got all the computer basics down...... before you dismiss me with the quick "check your pref to see if it's English (US) it's been done. and anything esle that can me turned to english had been done too (expect for the time zone setting on my computer but that shouldn't make the differance)

Have you changed the country for the store to US? Open iTunes and click on Music Store, scroll to the bottom of the main pane, you'll see a drop down menu with flag beside it, if it's showing the German flag click on the flag and a window will open, click on the Stars and Stripes to get to the US store. I can't see the dashboard, edit, customize, etc. buttons on my own Tumblr blog. I can see them on other blogs and I can see them while using other browsers.

This problem started suddendly, it was fine until yesterday. I've tried changing my theme on Tumblr, unistalling all of my extensions, cleaning cache and even reinstalling Firefox again but nothing worked. I emailed the Tumblr staff and they told me that it's probably a Firefox bug.

How can I keep windows in front while using other apps?

I want to keep a Preview window in front of all windows while I work in photoshop, how can I do that? I know it is possible, because I saw an artist do it on youtube. He had his references opened up in Preview, while working photohsop, and the Preview window some how stays above the Photoshop window. I know I can just have them side by side by using photoshop in window mode, and shtinking it into a half sized window, but I have porblem rotating the canvas and it is just to small to work when it is like that. He mangaed to use phoshop in full window mode (fills the whole screen) and still have his preview window stay in front. I asked him but I got no reply. So I was hoping some here would know.

Yeah, I was also using Afloat before updating to Lion, but now it seems it is not compatible anymore. Mac should have that function (keep a window on top) built in - such an easy thing and so helpful, much more than all claimed "productivity" apps etc. Linux has it since always...
