Typing Text on some websites is very slow.

When I go to certain websites such as Huffington Post or even Facebook typing in them is very slow or delayed. The text I am typing does not appear as I'm typing it on a realtime basis. The text I'm typing now is fine and it's not my keyboard as typing text in Word causes no such problems. Is there something about the code used for text/comment boxes that could cause this?

I've had the same problem too - for me, it was an animated persona that caused the problem. As it turns out, ''any'' animated persona I try slows down typing in any window, and seems to slow down the entire application too.
If you've changed personas recently, I'd try that first!
Why is firefox offering personas that slow their browser down so badly? I like the animated personas, but I couldn't find a single one that worked without causing this problem... and I have a pretty fast computer and an updated browser. Either fix the problem, or don't offer a feature that messes everything else up!

Can you amend he system to allow emails to be sent from photo as previously.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off"

Bookmarking some pdf is very slow

I found the bookmarking action for some pdf in Sony T1 is very slow. It could take about 30 seconds before the bookmark triangle appears. With epub book it only take about 2 seconds.
Press back to return to booklist then open the book again may make it looks more responsive.
The pdf I was reading is a text based pdf with some chinese fonts embeded, no cropped view, just in regular view.

PDF files have everything embedded, such as the Text font, pictures, and file structure therefore it takes longer to read the file prior to marking it. this is why you can read a PDF with Chinese fonts, but cannot read an Epub Book with Chinese characters.

Typing in MS Word 5.1a very slow on Tiger

My wife is the owner of an iMac DV 400 MHz (1999) with 640M of RAM. Until recently, she had been using MS Word 5.1a (French version) without any problem in the Classic environment of Mac OS X 10.3.9 “Panther”. A few days ago, I decided to install Mac OS X 10.4.10 “Tiger” on her old iMac, with all the most recent updates. The installation was successful, and everything goes perfectly well with the new operation system, except for MS Word 5.1a in the Classic environment.
There is just one problem, but it is a very annoying one: typing has become very slow, just like if the computer was occupied with some other very demanding task, like printing or checking spelling or grammar at the same time (which is not the case). I have tried everything I could to solve the problem (and I am a very experienced user), without any success.
Any idea?

Some websites have very small test and others too large.

When I'm browsing at different websites. Some have the text really small and others have it too big. How can I make every website use the same (my choice) font and size. I've changed the font and size of the fonts in "Preferences-Appearance" and they only change a couple sites. All the others are too big or too small.

Setting how pages are displayed explains what you can and cannot do regarding the display of text in web pages...You can specify how pages appear when they open in Safari, including which fonts are used, whether or not to display images, and whether to use your own Cascading Style Sheet (CSS).
Many webpages specify their own fonts. Your font settings affect only pages that do not specify fonts. Webpages may specify style sheets that override your style sheet...;~)

Why does text on some websites (BBC, Guardian Unlimited) show as bold? But in others (Facebook, this communities site), it doesn't?

I'm sure I've clicked some silly setting, which means that a whole bunch of websites now show their text as bold. This include the BBC, the Guardian, and generally text-heavy news sites. But other ones like Facebook, the text appears normal-weighted.
Might there be some way to switch this off?

Have used Firefox for years and upgraded to 3.6.13 from .11 but typing speed in both versions is very slow causing long delays

Windows Task Manager shows CPU usage spiking periodically from 1-2% to 100% and the PF Usage is up too.

I can comment that the only routine I had to block in the latest version, was plugin-container.exe.
It seem to isolate other plugins, but its connected to the internet and makes a backdoor that my firewall didnt understand.
the isolation must be ment to protect the browser from crashing plugins like Adobe Flash, Apple Quicktime and more, but in fact I never experienced a crash in them.
Sålunda, I made a small program that blocks plugin-container.exe from starting.
The backdoor once started a heavy activity, 80% of my total cpu-power (wich is very much for a quadruple of potential cpu) and I noticed it exactly that way -typing got slower.
Who wants such backdoors?
Suddenly Microsoft crawels in to it :)

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked

Some websites are loading slow

Has anyone experienced slow loading of certain websites since late this afternoon, in particular youtube and BT Yahoo mail? These have been slow loading and sometimes wont open at all. However it seems fine now.

Two issues: Runtime error when trying to Reduce Size or Optimize File. And navigation in some files is VERY SLOW.

I haven't figured out if there is a pattern here, as of yet.
This happens with larger files (1500 pages and so forth) and not all the time.
- Bookmarks may take up to 4-5 seconds to go to its page. Scrolling up and down pages is just as painfully slow.
Even when I break the big file into smaller sections, the navigation remains slower than molasses.
- When I try to Optimize certain files, or Reduce their size, I get a Runtime Error. I have disable the Updater (I read this could be an issue) but that made no difference. I have also broken the larger files into 2 or 3 pieces. One of the pieces may work out well (I can optimize and so forth) but the other(s) may not.

PS: I use Windows XP Pro, Service Pack 3. I have requested an upgrade (several times) but my wishes are not their command, I am afraid.

FF 6.02 freezes for 20-30 seconds; websites sometimes very slow to load. Didn't have these problems until I installed latest update

Firefox often freezes, when opening websites; stalls for 20-30 seconds before responding. This happens on various websites..nothing in particular. This problem began after I download and installed the latest security upgrade--6.0.2

As a temporary get around, dare I say it? I'm using Google Chrome which doesn't have this glitch in it. Been doing so for a couple of days now and no problems at all. I've gone back to Firefox a few times and the two or three second freeze every 10 or 15 seconds resumes, so I'll maybe check Firefox in a few months and see if there is any improvement. Or maybe, I'll be so used to Chrome by then I won't bother.

Why are some websites very slow loading and others not

Some websites are very slow to load and others not. Doesn't seem to be any logic as to. The affected URL below is one that is very slow. I can understand if it is not an Aussie website. Having said that New York Stock Exchange website "http://www.nyse.com/about/listed/lcddata.html?ticker=DJI" loads quicker than the subject URL

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
