Typing with foreign languages on Nokia Asha 200

I want to type and read Korean and Traditional Chinese on my Nokia 200, but so far I have no luck figuring out how to do this. I would really appreciate some help!

Hi housekihana,
Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums!
Unfortunately it is not possible to install additional languages on the phone yourself. To resolve this you'll need to visit your local Nokia Care Point and ask them to install the language files on your phone. Please note that language availability depends on the region, so all languages may not be available at the care point.
Hope this helps,
Puigchild

  • Problem with Nokia Asha 200 apps

    Hello guys,
I am using Nokia Asha 200 and i am quite satisfy with this phone. The only drawback that i can find is that i cannot ue it social prebuild apps, like Social and i cannot use the e-mail app as well.
When i open them and accept the license, i am waiting for the software to connect to internet and update it self's, but this never happen. I tried to wait for the apps to finish with there updates but after 10 minutes of inactivity it become clear that it will never happened.
In comparison when i am using the Nokia Web Browser i don't have any problems with opening web pages. The difference between the browser and the apps is that when i browse i see on the top left part of the screen the "E" symbol which indicates that the phone is connected to Edge network, but when i use Social, E-mail or even other apps i had downloaded from Ovi store i am not able to use them. For instance most apps i had download indicate me network connectivity problems. The only app i can use with my 3G internet is Nokia browser.
    My software version is:10.58.
    Thanks in advanced,
    Alex

You have two options to resolve the issue:
    Update the phone's software.
Ask for the configuration settings from your network provider.
Before updating, use Nokia Suite to back up your phone. You can be sure that your contacts, messages, calendar entries, tasks, web feeds, and other important stuff are backed up safely. The contents of your phone memory and memory card, such as photos and videos, are safe and won’t be affected during the update.
You can use the link to download the Nokia Suite: www.nokia.com/nokiasuite
Connect the phone you want to back up to your computer with a USB cable. On your phone, select Nokia Suite (or PC Suite) and then select OK.
In Nokia Suite, click Tools then Backup. Nokia Suite shows you a list of the content types that you can back up and prepares a list of information that can be backed up.
Select the information that you want to back up. If you want to change where the backup file is saved, click Browse and choose another location. If you have a lot of music, photos or videos on your phone, including them in the backup will cause the backup process to be slower.
Click Start to begin backing up. Do not disconnect or switch off your phone during the backup. If you need to stop the backup, click Stop. Nokia Suite will reach a safe stop point and will then stop the backup.
Click Finish to close the window after the backup is complete.
To update your phone software, you can follow the steps below:
In Nokia Suite, select Tools then Software updates. If an update is available for your phone, you can see it here along with any other updates that are available.
Click Install to start the installation. During the installation, Nokia Suite takes you through the following steps:
    Get started
    Back up (recommended)
    Install
    Restore (optional)
    Finish
Please do not disconnect your phone until the installation is completely finished. Doing so might cause damage to your phone or result in its contents being lost.
    Hope this helps.

When the phone reboots, check whether these .nrw files are now converted to .jpg .. If so, you should be able to delete them now ...

Are you trying to update the software of the phone using Nokia Suite? Nokia Suite is not compatible with Nokia Asha 200: http://www.nokia.com/global/support/nokia-suite-specifications/
You can try updating the software of the phone using the in-device software updater. You can go to Settings > Device > Device Updates > Download Device Software.

Moderator's Note: The subject was amended as the post was moved to the appropriate board.

HellKing, could you double-check with FlashTester.org, please? You have to put that URL into an SMS, save that as draft, and then click on it (this open the native Internet browser). Then, you can check the version.

    Hi !
Which video parameters have to be fulfilled by a video, to be played on nokia asha 200 / asha 201 / asha 205 ?
I have tried many video formats - there is always the message "Video format not supported" (sound is playing)...
    - 3GP 320x240 AAC Stereo, Audio 22050khz  - not working - not
    - MPEG-4 H.264 AVC, resolution 320x240 at frame rate 10fps, 15fps, 20fps, Audio 44100khz  - not working
    - MPEG-4 H.264 AVC, resolution 220x176 at frame rate 10fps, 15fps, 20fps, Audio 44100khz  - not working
    - MPEG-4 H.264 AVC, resolution 176x144 at frame rate 10fps, 15fps, 20fps, Audio 44100khz  - not working
I didn´t find anything in the whole web on this topic! Only useless informations like "Video playback file formats: MP4, ASF, WMV, AVI, 3GP"...
Same with the nokia spcifications page:
    http://www.nokia.com/in-en/phones/phone/nokia-asha-200/specifications/
    No detailed information.
    Please help!!!
    Best regards,
    apix

I checked with G-Spot: The Codec with FourCC "avc1" seems to be unsupported. So H.264/MPEG-4 AVC is NOT supported by Nokia Asha 200 / 201 / 205 (generally?). The MPEG-4 Codec with FourCC "mp4v" seems to be supported. Videos encoded with "mp4v" can be played with Asha 200 / 201 / 205 (resolution 320x240, 15fps, audio bitrate 192kbps and 44100Hz.sample rate). **bleep**

You have to use the Nokia Suite to update your device. Now, please, try to re-install your firmware with the Nokia Suite. If that re-install option is not given, consider the Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

    hi mate,
have you checked if there are any firmware updates available for your device via Nokia Suite on your PC? If there is, please update to the latest version offered. If that doesn't work, then try restoring your phone to factory settings, or if that doesn't work, then to re-install your current firmware via Nokia Suite.
Failing that, you will need to take your phone to your local Nokia Care point for them to inspect. to locate nearest Nokia care: http://nokia.com/support

    Hi Rencel,
What software are you referring to?
singhnsk was referring to the software of the phone itself which has to be re-flashed. Since Nokia Suite isn't compatible with your phone, the option is to bring it to a Nokia Care Point. Please visit the below link to select the support website of your country for repair instructions.

    Hi eddiehongkong,
    Thanks for your quick reply.
Have you spoken to your local Care line? You should definitely be able to redownload free apps from the Nokia Store > My Stuff. Your Care line will be able to send your already paid for applications via a text message to your phone, so that you can redownload the apps without having to pay for it again.
If you've tried the above and it doesn't work, even after updating or reinstalling the current software, there will be something wrong with the phone. In that case I would like to advise you to visit a local Care centre where the firmware can be reinstalled. Do make a back up with Nokia Suite first as all your data will be deleted off your phone.
After the firmware has been reinstalled the phone should work like it should again. Contact your local Care line afterwards who will send the paid apps to your phone. You can restore the back up in Nokia Suite by clicking on Tools > Restore.
Let me know how you get on.

  • Nokia Asha 200 and Asha 201 (incomplete software a...

    Dear Nokia Support,
I own a Nokia Asha 200 and Nokia Asha 201, two very nice and good phones, however, I have updated my phones today to the latest Software Version 11.81. I have done the update as instructed by the Nokia Suite and did not pay any attention to the Windows Warnings given, as instructed by the Nokia Suite.
We'll, whilst updating the phone, I noticed that Windows gave the following warning "Hardware ID missing, contact manufacturer", as stated by the Nokia Suite I did not pay any attention to this warning and let the program continue to update my Nokia Asha 200 and Asha 201.
After the update, which was succesful (the phones updated and restarted as usual) but, some applications are missing, here is a list of the missing stuff:
    - Store
    - Social
    - all non-removable games (in games)
    - all non-removable apps (in my apps), like: converter, introduction, size converter, tips and offers, world clock)
Next to that, I can remember that all apps are in an alphabetical order, now they are scrabled (no such a big issue though), more importantly the missing apps and games.
I use nokia for a really long time, like 25 years or so, I know that software updates can be a bit naggy now and then, but I never had this kind of an issue.
Any ideas, tips or tricks Nokia Support?
PS: i did a factory reset (via the phone) after the restart it still was the same, a second "update" also did not help.
I hope I am not the only one with these issues and look forward to any helpful reply.

    Hi needa,
The Nokia Asha 201 is not a Dual Sim. Look at the User Guide here.
Otherwise, the Nokia Asha 200 is a Dual Sim. You will find all the specifications here.
