U-verse Internet and i5 laptop

Hi, Tech came out a few times and says that the U-Verse Internet issues have to do with the i5 laptop. Anyone have any answers for that issue? Connected first time and then after that won't connect.

It might have to do with the wireless network drivers in your laptop.  You might want to make sure that it connects to the Internet using an Ethernet cable.  If it does, use Windows Update to search for updated network drivers.
It could also be interference, or if you had to renter your password, you may have miskeyed it.  Or if you changed any of the Wi Fi security settings in your RG.

Ever since I was put on u-verse internet, i've had to constantly talk to you
concerning my accounts. Worst has been my due date. You have been informed
that my due date must be on 9th. That date is my request many times(financially
I can't pay before then). Again, fot the jilliant time due date now 8th. Pevious month
internet bill had 8th and wireless due on 12th. I cannot, repeat cannot come up
with enough money to pay these bills before 9th. Every month no matter who I
talk to, they say "I've corrected it so next bill will be 9th or after". NO ONE DOES
A THING EXCEPT MAKE DUE DATE SOONER. You have promised a million
times and still SCREW IT UP. You own polices state you will work with customer

  • WRT160N G wireless Laptop connects to internet and N Laptop does not

I have a WRT160N router with 1 wired and 2 wireless computers. The wired and G wireless connect to the internet work fine. The new laptop is wireless N and was connecting to the internet but now looks as if I have completely lost the wireless N in the Laptop. My question is can the router fail N and still operate G. Or it the new laptop wireless card failed.

Well in that case if the desktop is working & laptop is not working then would suggest you to update the drivers for the built-in adapter & check the ip address of the laptop. Also, check if you are able to ping 4.2.2.2 & yahoo.com. If they are able to ping then you will be able to go online wirelessly using the laptop.

  • Internet and my laptop

so i have been switching between netscape and safari becasue of a problem i am having. everytime i go to espn.com then click on a link that takes me to the box score of a game then press the back button the browser closes and asks me if i want to close, reopen, or send a report. why does this happen every single time. i have noticed it happens when i am at other pages but not as frequent as this one. is something wrong with my laptop. thanks.

Your Laptop is probably fine, its most likely a browser issue, or a web page that doesn't try to be compatible...Here's a couple things to try with Safari:
Clear Safari Cache: From the main Safari menu, select - Empty Cache
Clear Cookies: Safari -> Preferences -> Security - > show cookies - Clear all
(You can also Reset Safari: Safari -> Reset Safari (this will remove everything and reset)
If that doesn't fix it, try trashing the Java Cache. First quit Safari, then in Finder go to ~/Library/Caches/ drag the folders named Java and Java Applets to the trash.
Can't hurt to repair permissions using Disk Utility as well.
Also... Have you tried Firefox instead of Netscape for an alternate browser ?

I bought and downloaded some music off of the internet on my laptop that uses Windows 8. How can I get my music to open automatically in my itunes instead of opening in the music app (the orange sqaure with headphones)? Currently I have had to often downloads and sift through all my files to find the ones I want to open into itunes, and it's irritating.

Media is only where the user puts it.
Installing iTunes does not and has never caused media to magically appear on the computer.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer (or backup of the old computer) to the new computer.

Hi.. My internet and wifi are working on samsung phone and hp laptop but its not getting connected to iphone ipad, only skype is coming online rest all apps and safari show no internet connection. Got new linksys router WRT160NL , but situation same. Tried reboot, renew lease, forget network, reset network setting. Pls advice

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

Again without stating the trouble shooting steps you have taken, its hard to direct you with any information.
Try a different port on the computer.
Does the iphone beep when u plug it up. ?
Plug iphone into computer and give it 3 to 4 minutes to see if it connects and is running slow.,
Delete the apple mobile device from your computer.
    Upgrade itunes to newest version.
Is you USB cord defective ?
Any USB 3.0 on your system ? .
Delete or Disable  any antivirus program on your computer ?
I will tell u the problem is your computer not the phone.
We could do this for hours.

  • TS1398 My iPod touch 4 suddenly disconnected from internet and refuses to reconnect, I've tried all troubleshooting and even restoring. Internet router working fine for laptop, already tried restarting.

It has been working all day long, when suddenly my email told me I wasn't connected to the internet even though I had a solid connection. I tried forgetting the network and re-logging in and it didn't work. I tried restarting the router even though my laptop still has internet, and that didn't change anything. Under general setting I reset all the network information and it still didn't work. Since I had been previously experiencing problems with apps shutting down unexpectedly, I tried backing up and restoring my iPod and it still won't connect to my network.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Creating firewire network betw Mac OS 10.3.9 and PC laptop 4 internetting

    Hi,
I've gone over a few articles but haven't found the right one for my situation so I'm shouting this out.
How do I create a network (using firewire) between my Mac G4 and my cousin's PC laptop (also has a firewire)?
Secondly, how do I do so in order to enable her to access the internet from her laptop?
I have high-speed internet from an RCA broadband box. When the company installed it they said that if I wanted to have other computers in the house access the internet that I should get some kind of router. I'm not ready yet (financially) to buy a router, though I do have a firewire cable (or two).
    Can someone please advise?
    Thanks,
    Sheila

I know on the Mac side of it you do the following steps:
    1. Connect a FireWire cable to the FireWire ports on the computers you want to connect.
    2. Open System Preferences and click Network on the computers you are connecting.
    3. Choose Built-in FireWire from the Show pop-up menu.
    4. Click Apply Now.
If you have a firewall on the Mac you also will need to enable Web Sharing or open Port 80 on the firewall.
As for the PC side of it I don't know the steps, but what you want to do is make a network port configuration to allow the firewire port in, then set firewire to be the port on which the PC accesses the net.
    Hope this helps

  • Windows laptops wireless access to the Internet and not to any of my files?

TC late 2008. I want to give Windows laptops wireless access to the Internet and not to any of my files? I have tried to locate "Guest" accounts in my Airport Utility with no luck and I do not understand my options. Example: Could I add a Linksys Wireless-G Cable Gateway router before or after my TC and not have a security problem?

    Welcome to Apple's discussion groups.
Guest networking requires a "simultaneous dual-band" AirPort Extreme or Time Capsule. Those weren't introduced until 2009.
Are the files you want to protect on your Time Capsule or on your Mac? You can protect files on your Time Capsule with a password. In AirPort Utility look at the Disks panel, File Sharing tab.

  • How can I remove the "Please connect to the internet and retry" error when I start Acrobat DC in my laptop?

I started Acrobat DC in my laptop, it said, "Please connect to the internet and retry." I did have internet connection as I could browse the net. So I checked out the internet time and it is synchronized with time.windows.com.
Do I need to set it to synchronize to time.nist.gov?

    Hi stephenn9960323,
Considering this error, I would suggest you to please refer the following KB doc link and try out the troubleshooting steps:
Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later, Acrobat DC
Let me know if this helps.

  • I am currently having problems accessing a network connection.  I have reset my IPAD network connections and am still having a problem.  I know that it is not my network because I can access the internet on my laptop computer.

I am having problems opening any email or apps on my IPAD 2.  It says there is no network connection but I don't have any problems accessing the internet on my laptop.

In any event, if your OS X version is 10.7.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.6 for Lion:
    Lion: AirPort Utility 5.6.
If your OS X version is 10.5.x or 10.6.x, download and install AirPort Utility 5.5.3:
Leopard, Snow Leopard: AirPort Utility 5.5.3.
After you install the appropriate version of AirPort Utility, open it. The program will be located in your Utilities folder, which in turn is found in your Applications folder.
To open the Utilities folder, go to the Finder and select "Utilities" from the Go menu:
AirPort Utility 5.6 looks like this:
... but make sure you use the version of AirPort Utility you just downloaded.
Launch AirPort Utility and select your Time Capsule. Click Manual Setup, then the Guest Menu tab, then you can elect to disable the guest network, or to establish whatever security settings you want.
The window looks somewhat like this:
If your version of AirPort Utility does not look anything like that, you are probably not using the one you just downloaded. Find it and start over.
When you are finished configuring your Time Capsule, click Update and allow the Time Capsule to restart.

    Go to /Library/Preferences/System Configuration
Move all the files from the System Configuration folder to the Trash.
Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference.

  • Two laptops - one will connect to the internet and the other one will not

I have two home laptops.  Both show as connected to my network with full signal.  However, when you attempt to open the internet, one laptop will not open and the other one will.  I have tried connecting with just the cord from the router to the laptop and it doesn't work; I have tried looking up the IP address and one laptop address is different from the other - I don't know if this should be this way or not; I have tried doing the start, run, cmd, ipconfig, and I got 4 replies, but when I typed in ping space yahoo.com, I did not get the replies on the computer that will not go on the internet, but did get the replies on the other laptop.  I don't know what else to do - please give me some ideas.

Make sure the IP address is set to DHCP, and browser is not configured for any proxy server.
