U2 iPod - No video to download

hello, I received a U2 version iPod for Christmas and have redeemed the code to download the U2 music video and other content. However, when I sync my iPod, no video is downloaded to it. I am also not seeing it appearing in iTunes, I have version 7.0.2 which I think is the latest. Can anyone help me?

What connection are you using to download. Mine worked just fine a few days ago. The video will be seen in Itunes under Purchases, even though it was a free purchase. Maybe you aren't looking in the right folder. Try downloading again, and if fails contact Apple.

Not all video format downloaded from iTunes is compatible with ipod nano. Make sure that the file extnesion is mp4 or any quicktime formats. If not, create a version on these format using iTunes or convert using a third party software. Cheers!

  • IPod Touch won't download videos onto my MacBook with image capture..

My ipod Touch won't download videos I took with the Photo app onto my MacBook.  Is this a memory problem?  The videos play fine on the iPod but I can;t get them off of it.  Thanks.

    - Could it be that the ones that can't be viewed are really too big of a file size and thus can't really be emailed?
    - Is there any pattern to the computer OS and email program your friends are using?

  • Can't get purchased video to download on my IPOD Touch?

I can't get my purchased videos to download on my IPOD Touch, any suggestions?

    What ahhpens when you try?
Do you mean sync to the iPod?

  • I purchased a movie, i selected it to sync, i watched itunes copy to my ipod, it shows up in itunes under "on this ipod", but does not appear on ipod under videos app.

    to recap:
i purhased a movie (SD version of Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone) through the itunes store.
in itunes, under my ipod, i checked next to movie to indicate that i wanted it to sync
in itunes, when i checked the movie, the amount of space for video grew, as expected
    i sync'ed my ipod,
i watched the progress bar as itunes told me it was copying the movie
    no errors were reported
in itunes, under the "On this iPod" the movie says it's there
    in itunes
on my ipod, under video, i do not see the movie
when i search my ipod for "harry" nothing come up
kinda feeling like i just threw $9.99 in the trash.

What happens when you try to redownload it directly to your iPod by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • Itunes/Ipod Touch Video Playback Problem

    Hi all!
I am asking all you Ipod guru's for some help and insights, as I am getting slightly frustrated...
    Background:
For a project at work I am trying to set up a video podcast feed with video's we have created for our customer.
The idea is that everyone at upcoming management conference will receive a Ipod Touch, with some easy explanation on how to -through a feed- download all our video's for them.
For that purpose I have set up a testfeed (checked and doublechecked) to get the videos into Itunes.
The feed works, the channels and videos show up under Podcasts and the videos are playable in Itunes (latest update) with no problems.
    Now the problems start:
When I connect an Ipod Touch, check manual syncing (I don't want to touch what is already on there), and drag the videos to the Ipod, the videos only show up under the 'recently added' category. The channel does not even show, and even though they are videos.
I can play the videos from there in Itunes, and they work fine.
When I eject the Ipod, and then want to watch the videos, I have to really search for them: they are under Music (!!), under 'recently added', and only play the sound, not the video (although the first frame of the video is shown).
To try and circumvent the problem I directly imported the video into Itunes, instead of through the feed (although that totally negates the whole idea to begin with), the videos nicely show up under the Video category in Itunes.
When dragged from there to the Ipod, all works. As I then want to see those newly added videos on the Ipod, they NOW promptly show up in the video category, and play perfectly, with image and sound, and fullscreen.
So, the problem is not with the video itself. What am I doing wrong?
(nothing has changed in the videos at all from the beginning of the process, the videos were already Ipod-ready)
Any thoughts, where do the problems originate? Can I do something in the feed already, or...?
Any ideas will be most welcome!
Thank you very much in advance.
    Peter
P.S. it's also impossible to delete the uploaded video's that ended in the 'recently added' category

Since I've read similar threads on this, I have to think it's a bug.
What if you create a playlist in iTunes with the Podcast's name on it?
I can't really think of any other way around this until it gets fixed.
Oh, and send Apple feedback on this issue - it will help bring it to their attention.

  • I have a 3rd gen iPod touch and I downloaded the most recent itunes, ever since I did, only the first song syncs to the ipod. As soon as it gets to the second, it xtill says its syncing. However, nothing happens. How do I fix this?

I have a 3rd gen iPod touch and I downloaded the most recent itunes, ever since I did, only the first song syncs to the ipod. As soon as it gets to the second, it still says its syncing. However, nothing happens. How do I fix this? I have restored and updated the ipod. I have the new iTunes. I have restarted my computer checked the connection and everything.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Duplicate Artists and Titles problem ipod w video

Hi all, I haven't seen this problem listed and I went back 6 pages. I've noticed that there are a lot of artists that are listed twice in my ipod, but songs are listed once. For example, I xfered a cd into itunes, and then highlighted and drug it to my ipod. Well in itunes, everything looks fine, as in the artist is listed only once and all the songs are there. But on my ipod the artist is listed twice, and 1 heading will have 1 song by the artist that was added at the same time as the others, and the other same artist heading will have the rest of the songs on the CD. This so far has happend for CDs as wells as downloaded music frm the net.
Another question...is there anyway to access itunes store w/o downloading the software (like a web version or something?) B/c I'm online at work and cant download the software here, but want to poke around and see what they have for sale there.
    Thanks!
Ipod w Video 30GB   Windows XP

The artist are normally listed twice if you have included a break after the artist name on some songs. In iTunes, try to highlight all songs by the artist that comes up twice and then right click and choose show info. The put in the artist name and nothing else for the multiple songs. Next time you update your iPod it should come out right.
    Regards,
    Trond

  • Connecting a large number of ipods to a public download terminal

I'm looking to find the best way to distribute content for video ipods at a public download terminal at a Museum.
Museum visitors should be able to walk into the Museum, see the booth, think "Oh, I've got my iPod with me", dock their iPod and download the content.
    1. Is Itunes the only application available for adding content to iPods?
    2. Will there be any issues with users copying material from the Museum's iTunes library at the download terminal, to their iPod?
I do not own an iPod personally, but I've been warned that an iPod cannot connect to the library on a second computer without losing all of the content current on the iPod. If this is the case, is there a way round this. Please not that we cannot require that the museum visitors have configured their iPod in any specific way.

    1. Yes if you want the files to be viewable.
    2. Probably.
You are probably out of luck. To put content onto iPod it will have to be sync or manually transferred. If iPod is set to sync then your content will replace anything currently on it. If set to manual sync it could work but they waould have to have the device already set to manual.
Basically iPods are not set up for what you want to do.

  • PrObLeM WiTh IpOd pLaYiNg ViDeOs WiTh No SoUnD!! HELP ME!!

i have a ipod nano 8gb 3rd generation i just got a couple of weeks ago. i got it, read the directions, got the latest downloads, loaded itunes, put my music, videos, everything on itunes, and connected my i sync all of my music on mai ipod with no problem. but when i sync my videos onto my ipod....THERE IS NO SOUND!! the videos were previously converted before i synced them on the ipod. PLEASE HELP ME RESOLVE THIS PLEASE!!

QuickTime expects video files with separate video and audio tracks, but many MPEG formats used a muxed (multiplexed) single track that contains both. Therefore, when you convert videos in iTunes to iPod format they only show the video and no sound since iTunes (really QuickTime) is not looking for the audio track within the video track and it gets lost.
iPod plays video but not audio of some exported files

One way to work around this is to use MPEG Streamclip to convert the files to fix this issue...

but there are other applications besides MPEG Streamclip you can try as well.

  • IMovie or QuickTime to view on iPod w/ video?

My father-in-law just got an iPod w/ video. Can I create iMovie or QuickTime projects that he can view on his iPod?
I want to create a short video project, post it to my .mac page for file-sharing and have him download it and post it on his iPod.
I have iMovie 4 but use iMovie 3 because of stability problems.
Thanks in advance for any insight on this.

    Steven:
Go to file-->export. If everything is updated on your mac, then there should be a movie to iPod option. This will create a quicktime file. Drag that to iTunes and then sync to your iPod.

  • IPod Compatible Video Podcast?

Would anyone out there who is lucky enough to own a Video iPod be willing to test the videos on my Video Podcast for compatability?
I have compressed the videos so that they should be compatible but I have received a report that they do not play on the iPod. If this is true, I will need to fix whatever the problem is.
Thank you for your help. My Video Podcast can be found at: http://www.indiecinema.org

    Alexander....
I downloaded your movie "Mandy" and and tried to load it to my ipod. It didn't. When I looked at the movie properties in Quicktime the video kb rate was 661kb a sec, and the audio was acc 44.1. I'm guessing that the sum total added up to more that 768 kb a sec which seems to be the magic number with the video ipod.
there's a real easy way to export ipod compatible videos for those of us who don't know how to balance all of the different parameters of video editing. Even if you do, there real easy to use and work in the background while you go do other stuff on your computer.
If you're ripping a DVD for your ipod. go to this site and download HANDBRAKE.
    http://handbrake.m0k.org/
it's a great little shareware tool for ripping DVD's to your library. When you've got that done go to this next site and follow the instructions for using handbrake to make ipod compatible video.
    http://www.methodshop.com/mp3/tutorials/dvd-to-ipod/index.shtml
if you're ripping an individual file that you created... go get this other little piece of software....
    iSquint
    http://www.isquint.org/
Works great, "brain dead" easy to use, faster than quicktime
Again, use these pieces of software for stuff that you've purchased or created. They work great.
    Hope this helps.

  • IPod 30G video using 2 computers to manage iTunes-yikes!

I have 2 iTunes libraries, by purpose or by mistake! My home computer does not have a fast connection (dial-up), so I loaded my CD's from home on it and on to my iPod. My work computer has a T1 line, so I today loaded my iTunes software on it and downloaded some videos and a couple of songs. But then in the process of transferring them onto my iPod, I apparently erased my songs which were already on there. I think I clicked a message box incorrectly. Now my iPod has the video and downloads, but no songs from home. I can't get my home library of songs/cd's back on the iPod. That same message box keeps popping up and I'm afraid to click it again, probably losing my downloads from work.
    1) How can I make my home computer my main iPod computer and just use the work computer for downloading? And then transferring the downloads back to my home library.
    2) How can I copy my home library/computer songs back onto my iPod, keeping the videos and downloads from today?
    3) What settings should I have on home computer iTunes and work computer iTunes so this doesn't happen again? I think it has something to do with manual updates? Which computer (home/work) should have manual and which should be automatic.
I am very frustrated as I know what I'm trying and want to do, but can't figure out how to do it! I am setting the iPod aside until I can find out what to do, so I don't make things worse (either erasing the iPod or the computer, or both!)
THANK YOU so much for your help and advice!

"The iPod "iPod" is linked to another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library?"
Yes, that's the box I clicked 'yes' to in order to get the downloads onto the iPod, and then my songs already on the iPod disappeared. When I clicked 'no', (first), I couldn't get the downloads on, nothing happened. So then I clicked 'yes' ...
What should I have done? What should I do the next time?
    Thanks again!

  • 1.1.3 - iPod Touch video podcasts play sound; only still image

For some strange reason, since getting the new update (but not the January update as I'm not going to pay £13 for that!) for my iPod Touch, video podcasts of trailers downloaded from Apple Trailers through iTunes play as sound files with a random frame from the video appearing as album art.
So if I turn my iPod Touch horizontal, the single image shows up at the end of Cover Flow as audio podcasts do when being played. However, there is no video at all. Normal videos play fine.
What the **** is going on?

Oh ... I'm so stupid. Sorry - when I wrote that they don't show up under VIDEO, I didn't actually check.
They are there and they do work. In fact, I think that as long as people like me remember which is which, having videos only play audio when played from the PODCASTS section is quite useful in some circumstances.
    I've learnt my lesson.
Now if only I could get that update for free ...
