U2 Ipod says Canot be synced The required folder can not be foud?

Any one experience this if so how do i fix it?

What i would suggest is ;
You disconnect your ipod
you connect it again
then you format your ipod.
after formatting it will reset.
You then select your language and plug it in again.
you may have to restore it again or maybe not.
Then you set your ipod name and sync settings.
You ipod should sync this time no probs.
Try this method and let me know how far it goes.
I just did this and it works perfectly.
I was stuck on this problem for about 4 hrs but i figured this out, if it works see if you can spread this.

Hi folks. Am REALLY struggling here and hoping for some help. I too am constantly getting the 'iPhone can not be synced' message since upgrading to a new MacBook and trying to sync my iPhone 3GS. Have tried updating to latest iPhone software and hasn't helped. Have tried all the stuff mentioned above (dumping that file etc) and no luck. When I go to my sync page for photos, even if i un-tick the sync photos option altogether, this error keeps appearing. Very odd and very frustrating. Can't sync - seems to stall at last step of the process every time.
I'm guessing it is photo related as the pics on my iPhone are now all lowres and blurry, and it is asking for sync to iTunes to get high res images onto the phone.
Also have problem going the 'other way'! WHen I go to iPhoto on Mac and try to download new photos taken on iPhone.. I keep getting the message 'The following file could not be imported. The file is an unrecognized format."

The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup.. Restore as New...
Try a Reset of the Phone... You will Not Lose Any Data...
Turn the Phone Off...
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
The Apple logo will Appear and then Disappear...
Usually takes about 10 - 15 Seconds...
Turn the Phone On...

Uninstall/Reinstall iTunes then try to rebuild the library.

ok ive had my ipod for months, i love it. but i accidently plugged it into my sisters account on the computer and it went a bit freaked out. after months of attempts i got it to sync somehow about a month ago. now all it says is 'ipod could not be synced, the required folder could not be found.' i need help, i have tried everything! if anyone has any suggestions please please help my i am so upset and angry that it wont work and i would be so gratful.

I was running into the same problem, but I was playing something on one of my playlists at the time I was trying to sync. I stopped the playlist, tried again, and it worked for me. However, I have the feeling your situation's a bit different than mine.

By completely removing all reference to apple or iTunes/iPod/ Safari etc from my computer, it has at last installed.

I see that you may be having an issue with compatibility of iTunes when connecting your iOS device. This sort of issue can arise if you have two versions of iTunes installed on your computer, which I feel may be the case. That can sometimes be caused by a damaged ipod photo cache.
If you remove the current ipod photo cache, does that get you past the error?

the ipod pictur cache is found here on Windows
When you sync pictures to the iPod, your actual pix are not what gets loaded. A copy of the photo is created in a size and format that it knows will display well on the iPod. ( the format is "ithmb"?). These converted pix are stored in the iPod Photo Cache folder, and uploaded from there. Every folder you select to sync photos from will have an iPod Photo Cache folder at its top level.
Files are kept there indefinitely, to save conversion time if you ever need them again. But those cache folders can really grow...if you know that you're never again going to need a bunch of photos on your iPod, you can delete the iPod Photo Cache folder from their parent folder. If you delete a cache folder that contains photos that are on your iPod, the cache will be rebuilt (provided the original files still exist).
